What is your favourite licensed minifigure?

Posted by ,

A few weeks ago we asked Brickset members to nominate their favourite minifigure for a poll which would determine the most popular minifigure ever created. Your response far exceeded our expectations so we have decided to divide the poll into four separate categories.

The last poll category is focused upon minifigures from licensed themes, excluding Star Wars. The three figures which receive the most votes will proceed to a final poll what features minifigures from throughout LEGO's entire history.

Submit your vote after the break...

What is your favourite licensed minifigure?

Indiana Jones
Davy Jones
Deadpool
King Théoden
Mouth of Sauron
Saruman
The Joker
Batman (1966)
Silver Centurion
Sonic the Hedgehog
Poison Ivy (TLBM)
Doctor Strange

The final poll, encompassing minifigures from all four categories, will be published very soon so keep an eye on the homepage for that.

Which minifigure did you vote for? Let us know in the comments.

By in United Kingdom,

Sonic the Hedgehog from that selection without a second thought.
I'm surprised either of the Gremlins weren't on this list.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

The easiest choice so far for me. Indiana Jones dragged me out of my dark ages, probably the only theme I've solely bought for the license.

Gravatar
By in Bulgaria,

other: Hector Barbossa from 4181.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I'm completely lost for Mouth of Sauron.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Silver Centurion all the way! No question at all.

Gravatar
By in France,

King Theoden for me. But also because I really like this character in universe. A grand sadness for me to not be able to collect TLTR sets along with SW. But one have to make sometimes hard choices. And as a minifig, these printed details are really beautiful, his chest armor is impressive.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Definitely Davy Jones. :-)

Gravatar
By in Malaysia,

Percival Graves ??

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I'm so happy that Poison Ivy made it to the list! :D

Gravatar
By in France,

You gotta admit these licensed figures are attractive...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Comi con give away steve Rogers although its not on there, but from the list 1966 Batman..

Gravatar
By in Norway,

I really like Doc Brown from the Dimensions fun pack 71230. His expressions are perfect and the torso is pretty accurate. And his hair piece is great!

Gravatar
By in United States,

No Mr. T?! Shoulda been there...

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Sonic the Hedgehog, without a *second* of hesitation.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Of course the crazy weirdo DEADPOOL, cause WOLVERINE (from the same set) or the magnificient STORM are not on the list!!! When the set came out in 2012 he was quite an irritation to me, cause I know the old x-men-comics and he never appeared in them. Now I'm laughing my ass off about how his value has risen... an I got three of them!
INDIANA JONES also is a hot candidate, and probably will win this competition!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Poison Ivy, great!

Gravatar
By in United States,

They should make a list of LEGO Dimensions characters because most of those are pretty unique and wouldn’t exist without the game. Take Sonic off this list and add him on another one with other characters like Chell (my favorite mini figure of all time)

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I own none of these, but voted for 1966 Batman. Every time I see him I imagine a speech balloon saying "Kapow!" Probably watched that series too much when I was a kid.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Indiana Jones.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

There are so many great licensed minifigs out there that a shortlist like this one will always feel like many of the best have been left out.
I voted Theoden, but mainly for the great detailing. Sonic is cool to see in minifig form, but as are the Gremlins, or E.T., or B.A.Baracus, or or or. The list is almost endless.
I guess my personal top three of all the licensed minifigs would be Michael Knight, E.T. and Doc Brown (all from the Dimensions Fun Packs), in that order. And mainly because of their sentimental value for me personally.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

For me it's gotta be the Ghostbusters figs with their proton packs and accessories. If these had been available in the 80's when I was growing up, I would have gone completely nuts for them. :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Teen Groot!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Indiana Jones, though I'd have preferred the shirtless Indy variant. My favourite (though a very close run thing) wasn't in the shortlist. E.T.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was debating between Indiana Jones and Deadpool (and maybe Sonic), but Indiana Jones made the most sense.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

New Poison Ivy is awesome!

Storm should've been on the list, it may be my favorite licensed figure of all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm torn between Iniana Jones, Deadpool, and Sonic. I think I'll go for Indy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Has to be deadpool. I dont own him (because hes super expensive!) but I have parts of him, and hes my favorite marvel comics character.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Rather shocked Davy Jones isn't getting more votes. Amazing minifigure (especially for "its time") and these days one of the most expensive to buy second-hand.

As for ones I own personally, I'd say Deadpool, if only because we're unlikely to ever get another Deadpool available for the masses (that recent SDCC doesn't count, though at least a bit encouraging as I expected LEGO to never do another Deadpool in any way ever again).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Surprised Davy Jones made the cut. I always thought he was pretty poorly executed. Not enough texture on him.
While Indy is quite a simple fig, they did a great job with the jacket and the belt and the satchel and the new pieces they did.
I do like Silver centurion though. It has everything you want from a fig: back, arms and front and sides of legs printing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finn the human

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

Indiana Jones for sure.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Epicmindvolt... Great idea if it was based on the dimensions sets mine would be Excalibur batman, wonder woman, Beetlejuice,
And Doc brown.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Some 10 years ago, while buying Lego for my children, 7667, the stormtrooper battlepack, and, mostly, 7195 Ambush in Cairo caught my eye.
I was still in dark ages then, but since they were cheap and a nice movie related gadget, I impulse bought them for myself... They turned out to be the starting point of my ever growing collection..
So yes, Indy ... I always knew some day he'd come walking back through my door. I never doubted that. Something made it inevitable. :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

NANANANANA BATMAN!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Although not my favorite licensed figure, 1966 batman wins from this limited list. Wish would have had more of the justice league.

Posin ivy? Why is she on this list?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Darn. I was hoping for a minifig from Avatar to make it on the list.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Absolutely Indiana Jones. Best minifigure of all time, really hope that do what there doing for Harry Potter and reboot the theme.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Theoden...Mouth of Sauron...Sonic the Hedgehog...or 60's Batman....

...Had to go with the Bright Knight there for nostalgia's sake, but man are those other ones good.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Theoden. Love the intricacies in his torso, helmet and armour

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm not really a LOTR fan & the sets were released during one of my dark ages, but that Saruman figure is pretty darn cool..

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, I wanted to vote for Woody...Fine Davy Jones, since he's on the list...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Voted for Indy, though Dana Barrett is my real favourite, BA and ET look awesome as well. Didn't 'do' Dimensions myself but it sure did introduce some great figs. Another great feature from Brickset ...

Gravatar
By in France,

I think that's the first poll with some of my favourite figs. definitely Saruman, he is my favourite, though it's close with King Theoden.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Surprised how far down the joker is in that list. They got the makeup and hairstyle in the movie absolutely perfect.

Gravatar
By in United States,

"You Call Him Dr. Jones, Doll!"
Yes! My favorite minifig of all time, Indiana Jones tops the list!

Although, that Poison Ivy fig is pretty excellent.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have so many favorites but none are on this list. Surprised there is no Wizarding World figures as some of those are really good

Gravatar
By in United States,

meh to all but voted Indy since i at least have his nintendo DS lego game

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Has to be Davy Jones. Unique face, peg leg, lobster claw, tentacle beard and hat with barnacles - that's value for money!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Iron Man mk 50

Gravatar
By in United States,

I voted for Davy Jones. As far as others, Cheshire cat (as well as many of the Disney line), and ET are some of my favorites.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Wish Spider-Man was on here !

Gravatar
By in France,

In fact, I have looked at them all closely and must say that they are all beautiful. Each its own way but we have come to high standards now. And we also all know that many others could come in that poll. They are all really great.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Joker should be Heath Ledger in Brackets

NOW IT'S TOO LATE THO

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Joker!! Surprised Indiana Jones is 1, kind of a boring figure overall IMO.

Gravatar
By in United States,

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!!!!!!!!!! But I am surprised he’s so low on the list, he has a really good head mold and printed detail :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

Had to go with Mouth of Sauron. Knew it wouldn't get into the final vote due to exclusion from the original source material and therefore lack of overall familiarity, but this was the coolest / badass LOTR minifig.

Would have substituted a few more superheroes for some of these selections, but I doubt it would change my vote.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Indiana Jones is a classic fig to me

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

I always torn between Davy Jones and Doctor Strange, I settled for Jones do to his amazing details over Strange which I own.

Gravatar
By in France,

I have a feeling the final poll is going to be the battle of the 80's. I think what we are going to discover is the most popular minifig... among a specific age group... who probably grew up with the 1st star wars movies.

I admit Indy is a really cool fig. for 2008.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I voted for Sonic but didn’t see Indiana Jones and now I’m sad

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was surprised at the price on Davy Jones. $70! The Black Pearl only sold for $99 - I guess not too many people picked one up.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I went for Ivy but it’s a crime that Green Goblin from 76057 isn’t on this list.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

Indiana Jones, hands down. I would've voted for the Joker if only he wasn't exclusive to a ridiculously expensive Ultimate Collector Series set (or whatever you call it). There's just an almost total lack of playsets of The Dark Knight trilogy from Lego which is very disappointing.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Theoden easily for me, he is a perfect rendition of the character, with excellent detail and great colour.

Gravatar
By in Slovakia,

please can you improve in future articles ? If there is voting for minifigs can you add all pictures of them into article ?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@sanders2221 - Yes, we will look into the possibility of adding images to future polls. For now, each option links to the relevant page in the minifigure database.

Gravatar
By in France,

I should have voted Theoden, why so little love for Saruman (except he is the bad guy) ?

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Should be Batman, but Deadpool is so cool :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Congrats for having the stones to even come up with a top 10. I can’t! But from this list? My favorite is the Heath Ledger Joker. The text not saying that may be causing him to lose votes.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Wow, I went to bed last night and Sonic was almost equal last. I woke up this morning and he's in second place. Go Sonic!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I feel there are a lot of characters that were in Dimensions sets that aren't on here. Many were IPs that never warranted a full set or theme (even though I feel they should have).

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Dundundundun (the) FLASH!!! Ahaaah, but-he’s-not-on-the-list…
Ok, ok…Batgirl…Hmm…not there either? Shame; multiple iterations of the character, including: two post-new 52s (a Purple cape or a Yellow cape version), a ’66 (Yvonne Craig), TLBM…
No Supermans (Supermen???) either? Original/New-52 (they made him look similar), Man of Steel/movie…
No Wonder Womans (Women???) too? Original (well, Earth 1), new-52, Movie…Personal fave is ‘micro battler’….

Alright, alright…Don’t own him (don’t if I will…) but when TLG added Sonic, my eye bugged out. Sure he’s ‘only Dimensions’ (wasn’t there a rumor the TLG was thinking about sets), but still…

Gravatar
By in United States,

they REALLY need to include that poison ivy figure in more sets. as soon as I saw her, I instantly wanted that figure.

my 2nd favorite is probably Indiana Jones, but that's largely due to nostalgia.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My favorite of all time is Luke Skywalker from the Last Jedi, but The Dark Knight Joker is a close runner-up

Gravatar
By in United States,

Chell from Portal is easily my favorite! She even came with a custom piece that was a portal gun!

Gravatar
By in United States,

'nother vote for Chell, here. You know it's funny, while I never played Dimensions, I sure have a lot of those sets--fantastic figs and mini-models (just wish the silly things came with directions!--still, I guess that was part of the fun).
