LEGO Overwatch teaser!

Posted by ,

A short teaser video has been published on the Overwatch Facebook page, providing some more information about the upcoming LEGO Overwatch theme.

The video features six different characters from the game, each of whom is shown in silhouetted minifigure form. This appears to confirm that the sets will include minifigures and the three backgrounds may also give an indication of the environments appearing in these sets.

You can view the video after the break...

Some of these characters are fairly easily identifiable, including Genji, Soldier: 76 and McCree. However, the other three appear more generic so any suggestions in the comments would be very welcome!

We are expecting further information about the Overwatch theme to emerge from a Korean Fan Festival, which begins tomorrow, so keep an eye on the Brickset homepage for that.

Are you looking forward to LEGO Overwatch? Let us know in the comments.

By in Sweden,

Looks like these ones are as from left to right : Widowmaker, Hanzo (or Reinhardt) , Genji, soldier 76, Mercy and Mcree.

I'm not a big fan of first person shooters, but it's gonna be interesting to see how The Lego Group™ will design a line of sets based on a video game

By in United States,

Looking forward to to this; some lore sets would be amazing! One small thing though @CapnRex101 BlizzCon is in November, the event tomorrow is the Overwatch Fan Fest: Seoul

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These should be cool...however...why on earth did they choose Overwatch and not Fortnite?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Blizzcon is in november...
i believe tomorrow is the YES24 event in Korea and Gamescom in Germany

Gravatar
By in United States,

because fortnight has no lore and is just about shooting zombies/other people +Greendude
overwatch is also a much more established game with much more loyal fans.

Tracer has been a sort of mascot for the game since the beginning and one of the most popular characters. I’m surprised she’s not in this group.

By in United States,

Using brickseek, @brickuniversity on Instagram found the first LEGO Overwatch set number (75970) priced at $14.99. Using that information I was able to find the other set numbers and prices. 75971 $19.99, 75972 $29.99, 75973 $39.99, 75974 $49.99, and lastly 75975 $89.99.

Also from left to right I believe the characters are, widow maker, hanzo, genji, soldier, mercy, and mccree

Edit: actually looks like hanzo is actually and out of suit reinhardt

By in United States,

I have never played the game, but some of those environments look like they could make for pretty cool sets and the minifigs should be interesting.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just those six minifigs? I would have expected Tracer to be more prominent since she’s basically the series most mascot-y character

By in United Kingdom,

Not sure what overwatch is about but if some of the sets look cool i might buy them for parts.. Especially if theres nice colours included like there was in the friends, elves and disney themes..
We need some more Sets from scooby doo aswell and also i, d love to see the Jetsons, wacky races, and flinstones in lego form:

Brickalili, this is just a teaser, as I stated above, there are going to be 6 different sets at 6 different price points. One even $89.99. I’m sure that there will be a lot more than just these.

By in United States,

Not complaining, but this doesn't seem like a good fit for Lego. I know they've done fantasy violence for other licensed themes, but Overwatch doesn't seem fantasy enough.

Anyway, that said, I'd buy a Pharah minifig day one.

By in United States,

Not too familiar with the source material but I can see the potential of new parts, sets, and minifigs. Much more interesting and a refreshing change then the SW stuff Lego has been releasing recently.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I squealed like a kid on Christmas when I saw these. It seems Lego is gonna make actual Overwatch sets with minifigs instead of brickheadz which really excites me. Hopefully a Lego Bastion!

For some reason all I can think of about Overwatch is a silly/crass YouTube video were the commentator pretending to call for a ban on video games described Overwatch as a: "Seemingly wholesome video game were you shoot terrorists... which should be taught in schools!" I've played Overwatch at a friends house, and STILL the YouTube video is the first thing that comes to mind every-time.

You'd probably have to have seen the video for the humor to make sense...

BTW: McCree will be an awesome figure for Lego Western fans... ;)

THIS IS THE BEST NEWS!!!

By in United States,

I don't play Overwatch, but I have watched the ongoing league on Twitch from time to time. It's an exciting game for sure with a lot of unique characters and locations. There's a lot of potential here. I'm more of an old-school gamer. If LEGO struck a deal with Nintendo to do some Mario and Zelda themed sets, I'd probably pee my pants in excitement.

Gravatar
By in United States,

easy pass

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm so exited! my only fear is that overwatch has some complex designs that could look bad or good in lego. Either way Im sure I'll like it:)

Gravatar
By in United States,

“Overwatch isn’t fantasy enough”
The game has angels, ninjas, robots and a talking gorilla. I still don’t see why people are so appalled that Lego is making sets for this. The fighting isn’t even violent. All of the guns just shoot lasers or whatever. Stop being so salty.

By in United Kingdom,

Tracer is bound to be in one of the sets, she is the cover star.

Also one of the sets has to be (or include) Dva's mech to place her own minifigure into.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't know why they chose Tracer as the "poster child" she is one of the lesser played as characters. On that note love these they will be amazing

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

I'm interested in the hair pieces and the unique weapons of every character. My set predictions: D.va's Meka, Bastion, the payload, some Hanamura location.
Price will tell if I'll buy them or not; I already collect the Nendoroids.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Never played the game so it's a hard pass from me. Is it bad that I'm worried this will replace LEGO Minecraft?

@Greendude Fortnite wasn't as popular around the time LEGO got the license. I'd love some playsets for Junk Junction, Lazy Links, and Risky Reels, though, maybe there could even be a UCS Tilted Towers.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hmm, so much for a new CCBS theme, that would've been really cool with all the varied characters, although I'm sure most AFOLs are hoping it's pure System.

Gravatar
By in Taiwan,

@Gimbal_Lockd Mario is not a thing until LEGO take it from KNex again like last time with AngryBirds. It would be safe to not assume so.

Misako hair kinda surprises, but makes sense.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Dorayaki I didn't even think about Knex. You're probably right. Thanks.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I looked up over watch to see what it was and it’s just stupid :|

Gravatar
By in United States,

Since the person above mentioned a rumored six sets (although who knows the accuracy of that claim) and there are six figs here maybe each of the sets is based off of these figs/they are exclusive to that set. Would expect D.Va to have her own set though so that's a surprise.

Another option is that these are the six included in the most expensive set, hence advertised together. The largest sets of most waves do usually have four to six characters so it may fit.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow. Okay. This looks. . .
surprisingly interesting.
