Images of some new Seasonal products have emerged during the last couple of days. 40292 Christmas Gift Box will presumably be given away at shop.LEGO.com during the Christmas period and this present opens to reveal a festive minifigure-scale interior!
5005253 Christmas Ornament 2018 - Reindeer Head is the latest in a series of Christmas tree ornaments, each featuring printed 1x2 or 2x2 tiles which show the year of their release. You can view an image of this unusual model after the break...
Personally, I think this Reindeer Christmas tree decoration looks awful but 40292 Christmas Gift Box is quite appealing.

Nope, not for me.
I've been holding off on getting the holiday firehouse so that I'll qualify for the free gifts so if my order qualifies I'll gladly hang that reindeer on my tree
Jesus, this "reindeer" is pure nightmare fuel...
The reindeer head doesn't need to be placed in xmas tree... it should be placed along with stuffed animal head trophies on the walls ... how about a hunting rifle for next year?
Really like the Gift Box set. Couldn't care less about the "reindeer".

The Gift Box looks interesting, but if that's going to be a free gift how much are you going to have to spend? About £500 going by the size of past free gifts! I'd rather buy it separately, thanks.
Too right the reindeer head looks like a hunting trophy. Donner und Blitzen kebabs all round this Christmas.

40292 is a brillant little set (in fact, I didn't know it opened up to that little vignette until I looked closer), while the reindeer ornament looks like some kind of crude "make and take" project more than it does an official set.
I'll go out of my way to get the gift box.
If the reindeer happens to show up with another purchase, I'll give the printed 2018 piece to my kids and have them make an ornament out of our extra parts box. That'll result in a special ornament that we designed, and will look much better.
What about 40293 Christmas Carousel? I thought that was supposed to the the Christmas GWP this year? Does this mean there could be 2?
Is this going to be like the red/blue/green/yellow stickers where you just have to keep placing orders until you collect them all?

Like the interior of the box. Might have to turn it inside out and put the interior on the exterior for display.

Sometimes I think people forget LEGO is made for kids too .... My kids will love the reindeer and it is something fun I can do with them that fits within their attention span. And yes, reindeer have teeth. The inside of the gift box looks uninteresting, but the actual box is quite nice.
I do want that gift box, just need to convince the wife to let me go Lego shopping.
The box looks amazing! So many great pieces! However, I don't think I'll be getting the tree monster thing...
That is actually a depiction of the rare Pekingese Reindeer, they have very flat faces w/big eyes you know :) I really want to see some close-up pics of the Christmas Gift Box interior, it looks great, and maybe a bit too large to be a free gift w/purchase promotion...

Did they have a 2017 tree ornament? The previous ones came in fabric bags. I wonder if this will be the same.
The reindeer is pretty mediocre.. But the gift box i am dold lego, And i'd love to get that lego carousel aswell soon stunning structures eith nice festive colour schemes..
The gift box looks interesting. Agree the reindeer looks awful but then two of the other three similar ornaments aren't that impressive either. Also, we had the ornaments in 2014, 2015, 2016 and now 2018 ...what happened to last year's ornament?
@bekuehn No way they would do that for gift with purchase things, but yes, I remember that carousel thing. I'm not sure what's up with that.
On the subject of the silly stickers, after 4 yellows, 2 reds and a blue, today I finally got a green! I FINALLY COLLECTED THEM ALL!!!
What was the 2017 Christmas ornament? I have the 2015 and 2016 but sure there wasn’t one last year?
The gift box looks great. I love the little vignettes so it just may push me to place an order.
@Phathead What wjb147 said makes perfect sense to me. Like most of the people who have commented, I don't like the Reindeer either, but if wjb does and thinks his/her kids will dig it, who are we to argue.
I am happy that some others like the reindeer—the differing appeal to different audiences is part of what makes LEGO great. I know there are sometimes sets that I love that others find to be sad. To me, though, it looks as if this reindeer had a bit too much eggnog and may have been pulled over for flying Santa’s sled under the influence, while pulling it erratically. If so, this would make sense as his mugshot.
That creepy "reindeer" ornament might have been intended as a Krampus. ;-)

If someone were to read the comments here about the Reindeer before seeing the picture they'd think they were about to see something akin to the baby from Eraserhead. It's certainly not ghastly and it's pretty easy to see that kids would find this set pretty cute.
