Double VIP points at shop.LEGO.com
Posted by Huw,
LEGO is offering double VIP points until Monday on all purchase at shop.LEGO.com. The second of this year's Christmas gifts, 40293 Christmas Carousel, is free with purchases over $99/£85, so now would be a good time for any last minute Christmas shopping.

It's a shame i don't have enough money at the moment. would definitely get Darth Vader's castle
@mrforcepower better off getting it on amazon anyway mate, 25% off at the moment.
Sadly the Brick Bank is not available
Is this in store too? Or is it only online?
Um, yes to double VIP points, but in New Zealand, and I'm assuming Australia, there is no mention of the carousel - it already ran out on the previous promo. So not for us. I wish they'd get their stock levels right.
Thank you for the tip. Hoth medical chamber is ordered and will soon complete my modest Hoth display. With double VIP points.
Ugh, made a purchase a couple of days ago. Just my luck.
So now the question is whether I get the Ferris Wheel before it retires or Assembly Square? Any suggestions?
I used to get pretty excited about double VIP and confident I was getting a great price, but after the last round of discounts around Black Friday, I'm just going to wait on everything and buy from retail stores when prices drop, which they inevitably do, even for exclusives.
@Klinton77 I just got an e-mail blast from TLG. The promotion is both online and in-store and goes from today (Dec. 7) through Monday (Dec. 10). I missed the double VIP points promotion on the weekend before Thanksgiving so I'm really happy about this. Assembly Square, here I come!
Free carousel set set looks like it's out of stock now. Luckily I put my order in yesterday and got one. Anyone else have it not showing in their cart today?
@mroper295 : The AS just came out this year, so the Ferries Wheel IMO would be the one to get.
I ordered (in the US) last night after midnight. Got double points AND the carousel.
The carousel is sold out in the US...
Dammit...I ordered stuff a day too soon. -_-
What happened to the rather evil looking 2018 reindeer Christmas tree ornament? Assume it’s not happening now but still no sign of the December UK store calendar
Argh! I bought the modular diner last week. Curse you LEGO gods!
I also noticed the carousel was sold out in the US a few hours ago. Luckily, I called my local LEGO store and they had some in stock, so I hurried down there and bought the Vestas Wind Turbine. With double points and a free gift, it seemed like a good time to buy an overpriced set :)
That's a pretty lousy showing by Lego by offering this promotion for 4 days yet having only enough of the carousel in stock to last for less than 24 hours.
Bummer that the carousel is out. I got one with a purchase at the store but was hoping to get another. I somehow managed to get threeve of the gift-box without even trying. I'm still thinking about buying something from my wish list for the double points...but it's always more fun when there's free stuff!
And I say this knowing I'll need to spend $50 more on LEGOs Tuesday if I want to get the reindeer ornament. :/ I wish the double VIP points lasted until the 11th...two birds, one stone.
@dtobin123 the carousel was in stock for the first week of Dec. and everyone had a chance. A ton of orders were put through to get them it seems. But yes, lets dump on TLG because of a promotional overlap......
@BrickCompanion:
You mean the one with the green bag? That promo starts on Tuesday in the US, right after the Carousel promo ends.
@suckerpunch83, Promotional overlap? That's a playful explanation. I know it may be hard to fathom, but the average Lego customer doesn't read Lego news articles regularly (if at all), so wouldn't be aware if part of a promotion was offered before the current one, and the same goes for checking the shop at home site. Most customers would have been unaware of past offers and of course would be somewhat disappointed that the free set offered in the current promotion was offered for less than 1 out of 4 days of the promotional period. Lego is not in the business to disappoint and clearly mistook inventory and demand. It was a lousy showing, and I'm sure Lego themselves would agree. That's not dumping, that's pointing out an obvious mistake. There's really no need to defend them for every mistake, they're doing just fine.
@dtobin123 LOL did you even read my comment? I said that they had a ton of orders so obviously Lego is doing just fine. Lego offering a free set then doubling up on a promotion only to have the set disappear in the first few hours has happened multiple times over many years. The free sets are always limited time offer and TLG makes it clear on the site. Calling this a mistake is hilarious....there is a certain number of sets and they sold out. And defending the average Lego customer on a comment section of a Lego news site which they wouldn't visit anyway according to you is also funny. VIP exists because TLG knows who spends money.....and its not the average customer. And Yes it is a promotional overlap: The free set for the the first week is one promotion and the double VIP points is another. They overlapped. Would you still be upset if the free set was sold out in the first 4 days of the month before double VIP started? It would be a non issue.
