Blocks Issue 52 available now

Here's the press release:

Batman returns in Blocks magazine Issue 52, as the LEGO DC Super Heroes theme gets a deep dive.

It is not all about the brooding darkness of Batman though, as Harry Potter show up in Blocks Photography, with Rob Damiano demonstrating how to photograph 75954 Hogwarts Great Hall – with no wizarding schooling required.

Not only does the LEGO Ideas Pop-up Book get a review this month, but MOD Squad takes advantage of the set’s design to reveal how to create different scenes for the brick built tome. Another build project that continues in this issue is the Pirate Island Theme Park, which expands with a rocking ship ride.

Nostalgia fiends will find their fill in a look back at the LEGO Clubs that have gone before, flicking through some of the classic material that relates to the long-running scheme. In Family Tree, this month the spotlight turns to recreation, taking a look at how minifigures have kicked back over the decades.

While Technique looks at how loose connections can actually benefit a build, a special feature also introduces the unique world of digital building. Top Ten counts down the most obscure Star Wars minifigures, Ideas Showcase looks at a Japanese Tea Garden and Month in MOCs checks out a beautiful Ford Model A Rat Rod.

Brickpicker asks which time of year is best to buy LEGO sets while Month in LEGO provides a buying guide for the new 2019 sets and re-caps LEGO MASTERS Series 2.

By in United Kingdom,

I was worried Brickset wasn't doing these reminders any more. I missed issue 50 and only got issue 51 last week. I normally wait for the Brickset article before hunting a copy down. Or did I somehow just miss the last two reminders?

^Hmmm - maybe there was too much other exciting news in those days or something. Thank you.

I mis-read this as ‘Batman retires’. I thought its probably about time as he is knocking on a bit...

If you buy this issue on the strength of the Batman coverage on the cover, you'll be a little disappointed.

By in Netherlands,

Part one of Daniel's LEGO Club article is a fun read and I'm looking forward to the next part, but he's made one small mistake. The Danes speak and are Danish from Denmark, people from the Netherlands however, are and speak Dutch. So the mentioned LEGO Krant newspaper is from The Netherlands, (it says "Nederland" on several of the reproduced pages in the article!), written in Dutch. A mistake often made, confusing Dutch and Danish, which to us Europeans is like mixing up Polish and Portugese or America and Antartica. Nevertheless great to see the LEGO Krant mentioned, I used to pick it up myself from the local LEGO reseller when I was a child.

By in Canada,

Issue 52 is about Lego DC Superheroes...ironic. Seriously though, wish I could find a store in Canada carrying these; or that they would hook-up with a distributor like Brickjournal did.
