Brickset birdie blogged by Brothers Brick

The other day I reviewed 30545 Fish Free Builds and built a few simple models with its 39 pieces, including this little bird. They were simple builds, after all I only had a few pieces to play with, and I stated in the article that "they are not going to be troubling the editors over at Brothers Brick any time soon".

As it turns out, the bird did catch their attention and it was featured at The Brothers Brick yesterday. Not only that but someone has taken the time to produce instructions for it. Apparently it resembles Zazu from The Lion King.

I am truly honoured to have this accolade bestowed upon me, although I think I have some way to go before I'm in the same league as the other builders frequently featured there! It's only the second time that one of my builds has been featured at TBB: the last time was in 2009.

So, thank you TBB: I'll see if I can come up with something else that catches your eye before 2029 :)

Oh, congrats, Huw! Funny thing is that I remember that build which was featured in 2009, because I really liked the Medieval Market set and I searched images of it every single day! I just didn't know at that time that you're the main man behind Brickset. :) Next time I'd like to see a LEGO town MOC from you, because I remember you mentioned some years ago at Skaerbaek fan weekend that you're planning to build something around your park, with the "Fun at the park" set! Andres made an interview with you on that. ;)

Congrats indeed Huw ! You'd better start work on your 2029 design … ;-)
Also - I was going to let it go but surely a 'Fish Free Build' should have no fish in it ? Like Wheat free bread or meat free sausages ?

Wow, that is awesome. Congrats Huw! I feel like I remember noticing a resemblance between it and Zazu when I first saw it. I’ll probably get multiple of these sets so I can build all the examples, my own, and some of yours. Also, that title is a pretty good tongue twister.

That is great! I saw the article yesterday though I didn't realize that it was you until now.

Your first feature is pretty amazing, too. I definitely have that set on my want list. :)

With Lego I find, one can sometimes do more with less. Nice build.
