I’d love to see just a normal high school. I guess I could get this one and remove all the non normal parts and it might look ok. I don’t know still though.

Very cool idea for kids but not for me...nice hoodies though, I gotta say.

Maybe the boat, and I would modify it into a tug for my harbor. Minifigs are fine, but that 'captain' with the tentacles would go in the re-sell pile.

Besides for the train, the PPP on all of these seem excellent.

I love the bus! Not enough in my LEGO world so definitely pick that up. Probably the grave yard to go with the Haunted House (Monsters theme). And the boat. What the hell, I'll probably click 'add to my basket' when the time comes ;-)

Great builds: the bus, the high school, the boat... Just about all of these sets may very well integrate with various themes like city, monsters, ninja and so forth. Now, about the hidden side playability, I'll leave it to kids 40 to 50 years younger than me.

Buss and that is it.

I Love these sets, they look like many hours of play for a kid. I know I would be very captivated by that theme as a kid. I wonder if this isn't too similar to rumoured Stranger Things theme, the premise for both themes is quite similar.

They're all very interesting, but I really want to know why Lego choose such generic names for the sets, it's funny.

Part-wise some really cool sets there, don't know about the actual play feature tho but who cares, right? ^^

Definitely some good piece to price ratios on these sets . . . with the exception of the train.

So many of the sets look good to me. The boat, bus, and high school are standouts.

This theme is so good for idea but Im not sure if I like how lego focuss on app once again.

Nonsense, plenty of kids have access to AR capable phones. In fact, the rise of mobile devices is arguably what's killing the toy industry right now (see: Toys'R'Us)...

That train is one of the ugliest railroad-related sets LEGO has ever released. And that's saying something...

I'm looking forward to having this new piece: the "train ramp", I hope that they will really release it as the piece shown on the train picture (far right) is apparently a prototype only, there is no Lego logo on the studs yet, perhaps a test mould piece...

The sets look great, but I am most interested in the graveyard. It would be perfect to use to do build a scene from The Graveyard by Neil Gaiman.

The seafood diner is my favorite. Hopefully we get the official images for that soon!

@Robot99 . . . having access to a mobile device is very different from having access to an AR capable device. To have AR you need a very recent iPhone model that in most cases is upwards of $1000. My phone isn't even AR capable . . .

What is that rail piece on the train? Is it intended to transfer the train from the rails to say a table or the floor were kids may push it?

@xboxtravis7992: Yes... and vice versa. I reckon its inclusion in this set is because the train has to be arranged straight on the rails to be detected by the app, and thus pushing it up the ramp makes for a simpler and more reliable way to ensure that all the wheels are positioned between the rails correctly. But it should also be useful for train fans, especially for re-railing long custom trains without having to do so manually for each car.

That ghost beard will work tremendously for Davy Jones!

I hope someone online re-builds the bus to make it look like a normal school bus.

Besides that I just don't like the theme, is it really a good thing to put the same minifigs into every single set?

Not really interested in the sets themselves, but there's loads of nice parts in them. I'm especially fond of the tan alligator.

The sets are kinda cool, but still think that the AR aspect of them will bomb, and the box art really doesn't help.

@wasn: I mean, yes, every set contains Jack and/or Parker, but they're the main characters, so that shouldn't be surprising (much like you wouldn't be surprised by Indiana Jones showing up in every Indiana Jones set, or Batman showing up in every Batman set). And there's actually two variants of each of them (with jacket/without) spread between the sets in order to lower the amount of repetition a bit.

That boat is great, superb design and really good colour palette used.

@Reventon: Second, I think — there was also one in https://brickset.com/sets/75882-1/Ferrari-FXX-K-Development-Center. I think that's the only one in an already released set, but there may be other examples I'm forgetting.

Cool looking sets, but have you seen the box art? Put your logo back where it belongs, LEGO.

The boat is one of the best looking sets of 2019, for $24 it's an awesome fun looking set.

But yeah the boxes are the worst in LEGO history.

I like the look of these. I am thinking the boat will go very well with the Old Fishing Store. I’ve been hoping another similar building or related item would come along. This may just do the trick with a few slight adjustments.

Love the Graveyard. Might get the School. The Lab is pretty interesting too. A few of the others have some interesting parts so maybe if I get a good deal on them. I have zero interest in the AR aspect of these sets, I just want the unusual bricks. When they first announced them I was afraid the prices were going to be higher to pay for the app.

I'll probably get the boat. I think it'll look great next to the old fishing store on my shelf.

Might get the graveyard and add upon it on a 16x32 baseplate to even out the 48x32 Assemby Square in my town set up.

I genuinely don't mind the train.

What worries me is that Lego will use the "augmented reality" thing as an excuse to jack up the prices to ridiculous levels. I mean, then it's just a matter of waiting them out (because the stores will end up clearancing them out once they sit on shelves gathering dust for long enough). I feel like there's potential, in these things, for some good additions to a normal Lego city. I like the graveyard, I like the fishing boat, and I like the train (some diesel engines aren't as pretty as others. This one has a low-cost, industrial vibe to it, and I like that). The spooky side isn't doing much for me, and I do worry about the cost.

These are actually really cool and pretty well priced in the US

The prices on this theme are not jacked up at all, and well within non-licensed averages.

Only the train set is quite a bit above the norm, but that might have it's reasons due to larger parts, and train wheels/magnets and such.

I just really can’t understand.
Bus has 9 less parts and is $30 USD cheaper than the train.
You can’t tell me some track is worth $30 extra USD, I hate to think of the price difference in AUD, and poor New Zealand.
Even bigger parts and magnets and wheels, as just mentioned, cant be $30 USD more per set.

Why do these photos look like renders? No matter, I really like the school! It will look great in my town

@Jhandford: I feel like even besides the track the train set seems bigger overall. The locomotive (excluding wheels and track) is around 6x25x8, with two cars each measuring around 6x10x7 and a station measuring around 10x16x11. Contrast with the bus, which excluding wheels is about 8x34x7 with a 4x6x7 port-a-potty. Overall the train set adds up to a much bigger playset even if it’s separated into smaller individual builds.

The reason the piece count isn’t also higher probably has to do with the number of larger parts in the train set — not just the five pieces of track, but also the 6x24 locomotive base, two bat/dragon wings, four 1x6x5 boxcar panels, two 6x8 station roof slopes, two 2x4x5 half cylinder panels, 8x16 station platform plate, eight 3x6x2 wheel holders, etc.

By comparison, the bus seems to use a whole lot of smaller bricks, plates, and windows to form its overall shape/structure — I’m sure there are some large plates or Technic bricks holding the chassis together, but not a whole lot else stands out that would add a whole lot of size/substance with not a lot of pieces.

It's like these were made just for my creepy kid (and me). Love love love.
