LEGO Ideas fan vote

Posted by ,

It's all going down on LEGO Ideas today... It's just been announced that four projects are being given a second chance and you have an opportunity to decide which one should be made.

The projects have all been pre-approved and the one that receives the most votes in the next two weeks will be made into a set.

Find out more and cast your vote on the Ideas website and see the four projects after the break.

Which one takes your fancy? My vote will be for Stitch.

Stitch! by a long stretch. Good luck legohaulic!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think I’ll be going for the space station. Just looks so cool.

Gravatar
By in United States,

International Space Station is an easy choice for me!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

No fiat 500, no jag e-type... sigh... not my cup of tea

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm going for the arcade machines

Gravatar
By in United States,

This was a tough decision, I think that 3 of the 4 really deserve to see the light of day (ISS, Stitch, and Small Yellow). Will be fun to see which one makes it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like them all and had supported all but Stitch, initially. Why approve them all, but only go with 1? Would think they’d just make them all.

All that said, while stitch has tons of personality, that ISS is where it is at.

By in United Kingdom,

Unless Lego is willing to create a lot of new printed elements, the Arcade machines will have way too many stickers. I reckon they'll be going with Stitch, who won't look out of place next to Wall-E, R2D2, Porg, and similarly cute brick-built models already in the wild.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Three amazing projects for me: Stitch, ISS, and Small Yellow. I think it's down to Stitch and the ISS, though. I wish both could be made...

Gravatar
By in United States,

the ISS is cool, but i've a feeling the final set would be on the expensive side. Stitch gets my vote, he should be far more affordable (and adorable)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Arcade, it's the only minifig set and could fit into other City/Creator builds easily.

The other 3 are display models and those don't appeal to me whatsoever.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

As a lover of both Lego and retro gaming there can be only one choice. Now excuse me as I load up the Outrun soundtrack again.

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

The only one that interests me are the Arcade Machines.

Gravatar
By in Italy,

No FIAT 500 ??? It's a shame ...

Gravatar
By in United States,

It would be a difficult choice between Yellow and ISS but I think I'll settle on the ISS... all of them look like excellent models though.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Voted for the arcade games after originally going for the ISS — the inclusion of minifigures is always a plus.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

STITCH! STITCH! STITCH! STITCH!

...big Disney fan here, don't mind me xD I've been hopeful for that project ever since I first saw it, and was disappointed when it didn't pass review the first time. The others are all pretty neat, too, but they just don't hold any personal appeal to me.

Still, whichever one does win, I won't begrudge them the victory ^^

Gravatar
By in United States,

Stitch for me, but I was hoping this was a chance to finally get an official LEGO Legend of Zelda set *sigh*

Gravatar
By in United States,

Stitch & Arcades

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

They are all equally great potential sets and whichever wins congratulations. Alas none of the options has that personal draw for me to purchase them.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Not a huge fan of any of them. I'd have to go with the ISS though. Maybe the UCS Space Shuttle will make it through the next round as well.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I wouldn't buy a single one of these. We've seen far more exciting submissions, but I guess those got left out due to licensing issues or brick counts.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really love the ISS, but my vote has got to be for Stitch this time. I am already imagining him waving at Wall-E...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The arcade machines are the only ones that appeal to me.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Created an account just to vote for the ISS, would absolutely love that, I think stitch is a little too close to Wall-E in my opinion.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Having seen the "real" Big Yellow in the flesh (brick?), that has to be the one for me...

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Master of Lightning,

No way the Legend of Zelda sets would be re-evaluated and approved for this. Every single one was originally designed with a new mould in mind, though some were later updated so that they didn't need one. All of these are reposted with the original pitch and none of the updates, there's not a chance that that would happen with a project that originally required a new piece.

Gravatar
By in France,

None.

Why is the choice so limited?

Gravatar
By in United States,

STICH!

Sorry, but I love Stich, by far my favorite Disney character. I really hope that set gets chosen.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Stitch vote for me. He's perfect. Bit confused why so many love the SpaceX ideas and realistic space stuff in general. Each to their own though :) The arcade machines I absolutely love too as they were all a big part of my childhood.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I wish LEGO would somehow make some of Nathan's model's for wide release.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I hope that, if Stitch wins, he includes a Minifigure with those double arms they made for Rio Durant. Huge missed opportunity if not!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Space Station! Space Station!! SPACE STATION!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

ISS is my choice. Hopefully it won't take half a year for the set to come out.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The ISS looks so, so good. Wouldnt be surprised if Stitch won, though. He looks great too!

Gravatar
By in Austria,

None are appealing to me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

ISS

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I love those arcade machines!! Genius!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just don't know which one to vote for, but I've narrowed it down to two:
I can see why people would want Stitch, and we could use more brick-built characters.
But with the SEGA arcade machines, I actually voted for them a few years back.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Stitch gets my vote!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Arcade
We can get Stitch another way (through the partnership with Disney).

Gravatar
By in Italy,

My vote - and homage - goes to the small rendition of Sawaya's iconic sculpture, even though the downscaling doesn't appear to convey the dramatic energy of the original.
It's a perfect example of Lego art at its best and a major cultural turning point, in great part thanks to Sawaya and other outstanding artists.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Arcade Games gets my vote.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Anything! else than another a space creation. Sooo sick of them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

We need the space station so lego can make other real space stuff like the R7 rocket, moon landing, and Soyuz spacecraft

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

All four get my vote.

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

This is so nice from LEGO / the LEGO Ideas team! Can't wait to see the winner, and maybe buy the winning idea one day!

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

Such a hard decision between Stich and the arcade Machines

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sega arcade history!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Small Yellow has my vote. I’d also like the arcade games as I want to build a modular arcade.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They're all good models but nothing I would actually purchase.

And what is happening with the tree house? That looked great and no word on it.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Its a toss up between Stitch and the Space Station for me, other two just don't do anything for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Site wouldn't let me vote. Looks like a sham to me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Tight pick between Arcade and ISS. Picked the Arcade, but still not sure.

Don't care about Stitch and don't think Yellow would make a good set.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Arcade all the way and back and twice on sunday. You can do some awesome mods after you buy five of these sets and incorporate a nice Video Arcade Hall in you grand modular city. Heck, I don't even mind stickers since it'll be easier to mod!

Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade Arcade!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ideas has got to be the most convoluted thing ever... Projects fail, and no one knows why, and then they un-fail, but we can only vote for one of the four... If you can make it, make it, and if you can't, don't. If I were one of the creators of one of these four, I'd be fairly annoyed at the constant roller-coaster here.

Gravatar
By in United States,

None of these appeal to me, but voted for Stitch because of the wife.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Stitch definitely. There is a space next to Wall-E waiting for him.

Gravatar
By in United States,

SPACE STATION! STITCH! BOTH? ONLY ONE VOTE!? NOOOOO!

I'll have to take some time to debate which one I like more than the other... both would be fun sets!

Gravatar
By in Latvia,

ISS or yellow? I don't know!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Definitely the arcade games. It's the only set which is Minifigure compatible, very nostalgic, and probably the most affordable as well. As a bonus they'd look great next to my new arcade games from B3! ISS and the sculpture are cool but their expense would exceed my interest. Stitch has no appeal to me whatsoever, so fingers crossed for arcades!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It has to be the ISS!

If TLG would make those ball joints in the Azure and Blue colours, I might vote for Stitch. They will leave them as grey and dark grey for ease of production.

The arcade games will undoubtedly have too many stickers. I hate stickers.

Small yellow is a good design but uninspiring, with just yellow bricks and plates.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My criteria for an Ideas set is a clever idea, innovative design, potential of how fun it will be to assemble, and if I would like to have it on display/play with. Not to disparage any of these entries, but they're not checking off enough of those boxes for me (the closest is Stitch but I didn't like the movie). Good luck to all the second time around!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I will vote for the ISS.
The others are of zero interest to me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Stitch

Gravatar
By in Germany,

“This is my family. I found it, all on my own. It’s little, and broken, but still good. Yeah. Still good.”

I hope that experiment 626 makes it!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Skip the arcade and create a Modular Building Arcade. Now that's something I'd buy in a heartbeat.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Meega nala Stitch .... obviously :p

Gravatar
By in France,

I don't understand how it can be the 10th anniversary of LEGO Ideas. The first set (Cuusoo) Shinkai 6500 came out in 2010. Ideas didn't start until 6 Ghostbusters in 2014, right? So how do they figure 10 years?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really hope it is Stitch. The fact the model is posable is awesome!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

My vote went to Arcade Machines. They look awesome and I would love to have all those hopefully printed pieces :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Anyone worried that the arcade would use too many stickers...just consider how many Ideas sets actually include a sticker sheet:

1. Shinkai
2. Hayabusa
3. The Big Bang Theory
4. Old Fishing Store
5. Voltron

That's it. Out of 25 sets, the put stickers in the two that were exclusive to Japan, and three other sets. I know with TBBT, one sticker goes on a 1x1x5 brick, and the other goes on a door. The 1x1x5 brick has been stickered three times and has never been printed, so they probably don't have a printing rig for it yet. The door has had tons of stickers over the years, but got its first direct print last year in the Downtown Diner (which somehow managed to avoid using a sticker sheet altogether), so again they probably didn't have a rig made to print on the doors. And Ideas isn't allowed to make new molds, so the same probably applies to making the rig they use to hold a part while the print is being applied. They may have to tweak the designs to use less deco, or eliminate deco on certain parts, but the pieces used to make this are so basic that they should be able to slip some printed deco in there. Maybe not the entire thing, but some parts at least. On the plus side, if they do make it with stickers, you could make a bunch of the same machine in different colors.

Anyways, based on the comments, and gut instinct, the ISS is probably going to win it, but I'm partial to Stitch.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Easy pass on all of them for me. Hope others are happier with the options.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

After all this time, you got my hope up for «Sherlock» again... :'(

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Arcade machines for me. Big time retro-game fan so it was a no-brainer.
Zero interest in a pile of yellow bricks made into a person that has more yellow bricks spewing out of the chest.
Not a fan of Stitch as a character so that's a pass on that one.
And the ISS just looks too big (and its not as interesting to me as the Saturn V Rocket was)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

ISS looks like a rather tedious build, with all those solar panels.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Stitch for me. My son and I will love building this set if it wins the vote. The poses that Legohaulic has shown Stitch perform put this model over the top for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As much as I love all things space and NASA, I'm voting for Stitch and am encouraging my friends and everyone else to do so as well.

Reason being, Lego has had a longstanding history of producing space-related sets. Even if the ISS doesn't win this contest, it's only a matter of time before it becomes an official set anyway.

For Stitch, however, this is most likely his one and only shot at ever becoming a Lego set. Creatures, especially cartoon creatures, are typically far more challenging to accurately portray in Lego, and the builder here has brilliantly captured Stitch's character in this rendition with amazing detail and playability.

If you're torn between voting for Stitch and the ISS, go for Stitch. One way or another, Lego will almost certainly produce an ISS set someday, but this is our favorite little alien's only chance!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Don't care about Stitch too much, and Yellow is just a bunch of blocks. Voting for arcade or space station.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Enough with the god damn Space sets...

Gravatar
By in United States,

ISS, it is!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Only 4 of the 26 Ideas sets (including those approved but not yet released) have been space-themed, or about 15%. It doesn't seem like too much to me, but then again, I do love space. Hoping for the ISS!

...or Stitch.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

If stitch doesn't win I'll not be happy

Gravatar
By in Slovenia,

ISS for me.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I've absolutely no interest in any of these. I can't even remember clicking on them.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

ISS for the win!!!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

My vote goes to the Arcade Games. I would love to add them in a modular building :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Stitch for me.

Space I think has been nicely covered by now, considering it’s a a sizeable part of the upcoming City lineup. Not to mention the rumoured Lunar Lander minifig scale release on 1st of June.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Don't think they'll win but loving those arcades

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have a friend who collects arcade machines, so if the SEGA one came with printed tiles, it'd go down a treat as a present for him but with 100 stickers - no thanks - no others really catch my eye.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm afraid they're all terrible, no vote from me.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I just don't get Stitch like I didn't get Voltron or the black and white Mickey boat - Very odd. ISIS will either be too small or too large and flimsy. Small Yellow is an interesting concept but just not sure it appeals to me.
Arcades are smaller, therefore cheaper, playable and can fit in to a number of themes.
Ultimately, there are so may other, better ideas that could have been chosen for this that it is a little disappointing.
As I have said in previous comments, Lego are making some odd decisions at the moment.... And by the way, where is the Tree House. That is a set I do want!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Arcade machines for me!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I voted for Yellow the first time around, and here it is again! Sadly, I think the real competition is between the ISS and Stitch. What a bummer that we'll be getting ANOTHER space or Disney set instead of a wonderful piece of art. *sigh*

Gravatar
By in United States,

^ Not that it helps, but I think Arcade is some pretty stiff competition too.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Voted for yellow, first because it looks great, but also because it's something different. As much as I love space, there is already so much of it, as is Disney. Hope they decide to do a second as well, including the arcade. Printing of these tiles should be pretty straightforward.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thank you for your votes everyone! No matter what you voted on, Lego fans will be better for it!

The stickers thing seems to come up a lot with the Arcade Machines, but please don't let that deter you! There are new pieces and I'm sure the Lego designers will have better techniques to minimize the number of stickers. So I encourage you to vote on THE IDEA and not try to guess how many stickers will be in the set!

Thank you!

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

SEGA!! Been playing video games since the TV Pong and ZX Spectrum in the 80s.

Speciality for the Arcade set will be all the Sega game stickers and/or printed tiles which will not appear in any other sets. For other sets at least can still built with existing parts, i.e. nothing unique about them.

Best option would be to release the Arcade set and provide online downloadable instructions for the other models.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love Stitch but I'm so Disney'd out. I'm kind of annoyed it's even in the mix. They already made a minifig; I don't see why this really has to be produced through IDEAS. Give something else a chance!

I think Small Yellow, while maybe the least fun or interesting, is all encompassing for LEGO fans. It's different than anything else that's been released previously, and it's all about LEGO and less about a third party. Big "Yellow" is such an iconic LEGO build; I think this would make the perfect sort of Anniversary set and would also make a very cool display piece. I'm not sure it's going to get the vote of those who aren't super LEGO fans though; I'm sure a lot of people don't even recognize what it is. I'd be happy to see anything beat out another Disney product.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't have interest in any of them. So maybe I'll vote for one randomly?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

None of these really stand out if you ask me. No vote from me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My 10 year old really wants the ISS, but my guess is that the Sega machines will be the "chosen one".

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Stitch stitch stitch just cause still love that lil character & was sad when it didn’t make it past Ideas review last time. *fingers crossed*
