Review: 40352 Scarecrow
Posted by Huw,
This year's seasonal BrickHeadz have on the whole been excellent and now that we are not being bombarded with dozens of the blocky characters every few weeks it is very welcome when a new one becomes available.
The Christmas one has just hit the brand store shelves but before we get ahead of ourselves, let's take a look at 40352 Scarecrow which was released a few weeks ago, in good time for Thanksgiving in the USA and Canada.
Everything that typifies a scarecrow is present and correct: patched up dungarees, arms held up with a stick, straw for hair and a pointed hat.
Unlike many BrickHeadz that skimp on details on the back of the head, this one looks splendid from the rear.
Seasonal BrickHeadz are provided with an elaborate display stand rather than just a plan 6x6 plate and this one is particularly attractive, with a picket fence and vegetables growing on either side.
The 2x2 round 'stick' in the middle is, of course, to shove up the scarecrow's a... to support the makeshift man and hold him upright.
Verdict
This is easily on a par with other seasonal BrickHeadz and in many ways better, thanks to an interesting stand and detailing on the back of the head.
It's an unusual, colourful and attractive model and, like many of his blocky companions, it's a pretty good parts pack, too.
It's now available in brand stores and at LEGO.com priced at £9.99 / $9.99.

I built it a few days ago. belongs to my favorite brickheadz.
Seems like the price is off, it's $9.99 on Lego.com
Didn’t they already do this review?
@Huw, there's kids that use this website, so stop that.
@ SeekerBear--
I'm pretty sure those kids have seen Spider-man: Far From Home (an official LEGO subtheme, mind you), so Huw is not being unreasonable.
Scarecrow is out of stock at LEGO.com. The ghost is back after being unavailable for more than a month.
" to shove up the scarecrow's a..."
LOL!! Thanks I needed a good laugh.
I do like this one. Already queued up in my stash for Thanksgiving build. Now to see if my Lego store has any Ghosts in stock that haven't been except for first couple days of release... Or at least I haven't stopped by when it was in stock.
Best review of all time.... thanks for the laughs!!!!
@speedorz4ever
The TBB review for the FO AT-ST and all of Pete Reid’s reviews for New Elementary are also excellent.
That's actually cute. I do wish they'd go back to the seasonal vignettes though.
I'd personally like some new Star Wars ones. It would be entertaining to see if they could pull off a General Grievous.
@randomly_generated That's a fair point.
Nice review Huw. The 'accidental' edit made me chuckle. Thanks for brightening up our day.
@SeekerBear the joke was only implied. So younger and older readers will read what is already on their mind. I thought it was funny
My major problem with this set is that instead of seasonal vignette sets we get seasonal Brickheadz. This set is good for a Brickheadz but inferior to every season vignette I own (which is at least a dozen).
On the upside, it's only $10 so if you like it you won't break the bank.
