Booyah!
Brick built Banthas baby!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

How many Knights of Ren are there???

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Haha, that brick built bantha is super cute. Definitely a must build.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Like the X-wing and microfighters, am horrified with the TIE-fighter (and I generally LOVE TIE-designs), and the speeder and hut are mweeeeeeh.

My wallet will be happy.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I don't care for Lego Star Wars at all, but there are quite few nice bits there - I like the micro-figure Leia hologram, the Landspeeder is OK and the X-Wing structure looks pretty solid.

Obi-Wan's Hut is a waste of a set, as it needed to be the same scope as Hagrid's Hut from the latest Harry Potter sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^ At least six other than Kylo.

Gravatar
By in United States,

We're finally getting a Bantha! A small one but still that's awesome!

Duel on Mustafar looks fun. A shame we don't get many prequel sets these days.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m very underwhelmed by these.

And no Mandalorian sets? Considering its instant popularity- lego is missing an opportunity to sell a lot of sets.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Ugh! Weak releases. Feels like they rehashed / reskinned too much.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I feel like the Skyhopper and Bantha microfighter pack is a slightly subpar version of the escape pod/dewback microfighter pack (which I already own, and really like), and the Obi-Wan and Anakin duel is a slightly subpar version of the "Duel on Starkiller Base" set (which I already own, and really like).

And given we've got the 50th landspeeder set, is it me or does it feel like they're not even really trying that hard?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hey, an article for the Star Wars sets! The X-wing looks great. The new engine parts are a big improvement on the engines in 75102/75149, the nose cone and laser guns have subtle but real improvements, the engine extensions are sturdier, and the color scheme is implemented much more successfully than I imagined to be possible. The Snowspeeder looks like a lot of fun too, simple though it may be. The landspeeder looks like it has a lot of clever SNOT under the skin, though the overall look is virtually identical to the last version. The TIE fighter has some cool new wedge plates and the back of the cockpit ball is shaped well, but on the whole it looks like an incredibly boring build: the cockpit is much simpler than those in the 2015-2019 TIE fighters, and the wings are just enormous flat areas of stacked plates.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

Three Poe's X-wings in four years is a tad too much I think. But more importantly that Knight of Ren minifig in the Sith TIE Fighter set is holding an Uruk-Hai sword! That means Lego still has the Lord of the Rings license, right? I'll see myself out...

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Rule of two:
Always two there are, Landspeeder and Snowspeeder.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Oooh, look at those pointy wedge plates on the TIE Dagger. Something thats been desperately needed for a long time.

Only set Im actually interested in is the bantha though. Another thoroughly lackluster wave of Star Wars

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I’m mostly annoyed by ANOTHER Snowspeeder, ANOTHER Landspeeder and YET ANOTHER X-Wing!

Other than that, I really want the Mustafar and Y-Wing. The Tie Dagger looks interesting as well.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So...we still need two more Knights of Ren after these? They’re having better luck than their Inquisitor predecessors when it comes to getting physical Minifigures.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like them all. But I'm easy. (They had me at " SW LEGO"). Obviously we need at least two banthas. "They always travel single file, to hide their numbers."

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oh good, another landspeeder. Yawn...

Gravatar
By in United States,

The only set that is "worth" getting is the battle packs, both the sith and Mando one (please LEGO don't increase the price of BP). All the builds for the other sets are just lame, repetitive, and pretty poor compared to other waves. Microfighters aren't my thing, the two Ep 4 sets are undesirable, the dagger didn't translate well to LEGO (but the wedge plates are very very nice to get), and the x-wing just not good enough and the color scheme doesn't work well, the black & orange was quite nice. However even though the builds are subpar, the figures as always are all really good. Overall, a poor wave and a possibly happy bank account :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

Anyone else really like those boxes? Some of the sets are mediocre, but those boxes look really nice compared to some of the past years.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The first time I am excited about a Microfighters set. Definitely be getting the Skyhopper vs. Bantha.

The Sith Troopers Battle Pack and the Sith TIE I will be looking for on discount because they look like great parts packs at least, some nice rare sand blue and dark red pieces there.

The others don't excite me that much. Perhaps Obi Wan's Hut on heavy discount, but that's about it.

All in all, not the best of waves but certainly also not the worst.

Gravatar
By in France,

Renn's microfighter just for the version of the minifig. Well : of the helmet. Maybe Tie Dagger but there is something missing with it and I don't know why or what. Probably because I have never seen it on screen before. Then the Bantha, it's so cute my daughter will love and want it for sure. For the rest... Won't buy Obi-Wan hut just for the Leia's hologram and lightsaber training device. Those will be Bricklinked in a few months. And that's all.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Only one battle pack? Don't they normally come in pairs to be opposing sides to each other?

Also that microfighter bantha is just adorable

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Now i want more 4+ sets: Imperial Star Destroyer and Death Star! :)))))

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Sith troopers battle pack, obi wans hut which I'm gonna tweak myself and the sith Tie dagger all Brilliant, oh and the tusken Raider set is rather cute too..

You serve me well lego!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll be grabbing Obi-Wan's Hut and everything above - the Battle Pack, the microfighters, and even the Snowspeeder because I could use a Snowtrooper and a Wedge. I don't need another Landspeeder or the newest TIE and X-Wing. I'm particularly disinterested in the latter, as we've had a lot of variations recently and this is by far the least attractive. No must-have minifigs either, although maybe Jannah or one of the Knights of Ren will catch my eye later.

If I grab an expensive LEGO SW set, it'd probably be the new Falcon or the Yoda first.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Yay! Lots of stuff from my Star Wars

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Lego star wars fans:
we would love a 501st battlepack!
Lego:
no, you need a sixth Luke's landspeeder to add to your collection
(Seriously though, they are coming out nearly every other year)

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Bantha is CUTE!
I also like that the Microfighter has figures I wanted for cutsomfigs

Gravatar
By in France,

Bantha looks. Like the Dewback it’s cool that the designers are brick building these rather than using moulded parts.

Love the x-wing, but come on 100€!!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Does anyone know if a herd of brick-built banthas would get on well with a heard of brick-build dewbacks?

Asking for a friend.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I really hope those ram horn pieces appear in another theme.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I like the new X-wing design. The new Sith TIE Fighter though...not so much. It’s the only fresh craft in this wave and it unfortunately evokes more YouTube play button-esque aesthetics than that of a sleek sci-fi fighter :/

Gravatar
By in Australia,

The TIE Dagger isn't that interesting a design to start with, but that version is incredibly phoned in - the best part of star wars lego design is where the artist uses unexpected parts and techniques to better replicate the vehicles. This is just weak - it's an amateur effort, and looks a lot like a first 'rough sketch' model that somehow got approved for the final release.

They haven't even attempted to replicate the paneling on the wings properly, with only some very vague hints towards the gray lines. The whole model is around the same level as the old 'blue' version from 2001.

I've been screaming out for a new TIE Interceptor and Bomber for forever, but if that's the weak effort we can expect, don't bother...

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Mmmm... TIE Dorito.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

The X-Wing is pretty nice - the curved intakes are a little oversized making the whole thing look 'chibbi' and I'm not sure why they felt the need to change it since the wheel arches used on the two previous versions worked perfectly. The re-use of the s-foil lever from the newer OT X-Wing is fine too - it removes some detailing but is a fun mechanism.

I've seen people complaining about the random blue on it, but that's actually perfectly accurate to how it is on both the Bandai and Hasbro versions ???

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Cool, we only missing 2 more Knights of Ren now. Wished they paired them instead though.

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

@SinKiller_Nick the Mandalorian came out less than two weeks ago. You realize it takes a bit longer than that to design and develop a set, secure all neccessary approvals, and create an official design, right?

The show isn't even over yet. Pretty obvious that if any new sets come out, they'll be announced once the first season is done. Just like we'll get more Ep. IX sets with spoilery content next spring/summer.

@CCC
"don't see the need for 4+ sets in Star Wars"... really? In a franchise where kids are a core part of the audience?

Gravatar
By in Venezuela,

I LOVE that Bantha

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

I love the Bantha but not getting the set just for that awesome build, Obi Wan Hut yes, (x2 2019 sets AT-ST Raider and Death Star Cannon), might check the Mandalorian BP but my wallet is saying: "Thank you" for now. Still no: Rogue One: Imperial Cargo Shuttle, Rebels Imp Troop Transport (not the BP one), Tie Reaper (from both Jedi Fallen Order and RO), the Mantis (Jedi FO), new non UCS Imperial era Star Destroyer, new AT-AT, a Tie Bomber from the OT.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The bantha is so cute.

That TIE fighter looks awful though.

Gravatar
By in Slovakia,

What about the rest of wave? There should be at least one more battlepack

Gravatar
By in United States,

Those new wedge parts on that Sith TIE fighter look awesome!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I feel like I've seen (very) similar versions of these sets so many times before.

The kids will be all over the Duel on Mustafar set though - it's their favourite movie.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They didn't include the high ground on Mustafar. They didn't include any ground at all.

It's treason then.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Microfighters & battlepack straight onto the wishlist

Gravatar
By in Poland,

The mini Bantha is so adorable.

Really nice to be able to get that Zorii Bliss minifigure in a cheap set too.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is that a 2x6 tile on the nose of the X-Wing?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Child to Santa: "I want a 470 piece set 75272 Sith TIE Fighter for Christmas!"

Santa to child: "You'll put your eye out kid. Merry Christmas, ho, ho, ho."

Apology to all: for the Christmas Story flashback. Seriously that thing is pointy though! - And very cool! - darn it, you have enough TIE Fighters... I'll keep telling myself that and hoping it works.

Ps. Kuddos to the brick built Bantha baby :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Still waiting for the 2020 Jurassic World sets to be revealed.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So annoyed that I like all the sets except the Mustafar one I was most excited for. Shocked I want a third Resistance x-wing, but they really upped their engine game. Could this X-wing be a T-85?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I seriously do not get the "4+" Star Wars sets. The lowest rating on the movies is 6. Who lets their four year old watch Star Wars? This is even more ridiculous considering their official "no war" line.
Easy skip for all, I have had my fair share of TIE and $-wing rehashes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

only must-buys for me are the bantha & mando battle pack. gotta say, that 4+ snowspeeder is rather cute though

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really like the X-Wing, not entirely sure about that color scheme though.

@cofaigh this is why I love to read the comments section LOL.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Pretty sneaky to split up the Knights of Ren in to 3 larger sets to get people to buy them all. Booooooo!

I refuse. I’ll mock ‘em myself :)~

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

That's another set for my TIE collection. And off course a must have battlepack to complete my collection of stormtroopers.
Maybe the X-wing.

Hoping for a Knights of Ren battlepack.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Getting Duel on Mustafar and Obi Wan's Hut. I'll wait to see movie before deciding on the Sith tie fighter.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The microfighter 2-pack looks epic, but the rest of them don't really speak to me (especially the X-Wing. Too many exposed studs compared to previous versions).

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Cause we really needed another almost identical version of the landspeeder...

Gravatar
By in United States,

@CCC

I couldn't disagree more! I distinctly remember seeing Star Wars at age three and soon thereafter demanding the action figures. While I certainly didn't have a firm grasp of the characters or plot, I knew enough to know I loved the brand and wanted things associated with it. I won't argue you though that Luke would be a far better option here than Wedge. I just don't understand why folks waste their breath complaining about something that doesn't affect them in any way.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Black_Leader I think the reason for the complaints is TLG is replacing some of the regular sets with these 4+ sets. I'm somewhat okay with the 4+ sets because it has helped save me money. I've gone from buying 6-8 sets per wave to only buying 2-3. The 4+ sets and the rehashes of sets I already have make it easier and easier to pass up on these new ones.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ Orange_Jews - Not sure I follow your logic. Rise of the Skywalker isn't even out yet and we have multiple sets over two waves of releases, and there is already one Mandalorian set that has been released. Plus if we go back the release of SW Rebels, many sets launched simultaneously with the show. I just feel that there is a missed opportunity. My 11 year old would love a Lego version of the Mandalorian's Ship (the Razor Crest) but as of yet we have no word that such a set is in the pipeline.

Gravatar
By in Spain,

There is something I can´'t understand. All the other themes get more bad than good comments. And there you have some Star War sets, all of them re-re-releases, and not pretty good ones in my opinion. And almost everybody is delighted with them! Sigh...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nice looking sets. I love Star Wars but always seem to gravitate away from Star Wars Lego for some reason. Think because my kids like other Lego themes more. Anyway, there are a few sets here that I may have to get.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I plan on getting all of the Knights of Ren, but the one from the X-wing will definitely be bought on Bricklink (not really a fan of that set). I, for one, think the Tie Dagger (or whatever TF it's actually called) looks awesome, and will certainly be buying it. I don't own a Landspeeder yet (I'm a relatively recent fan), so that set is a must, and that Bantha is so cute!

Is it just me, or are the "officers" thrown into the Battle Packs really annoying? What I mean is that they seem to be put in there to make you buy more of the set to get the amount of troops you actually want.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Hmmm, not convinced by this wave!

The micro fighters are nice, but I wish we’d have had a bantha vs dewback in 1 set instead...

The battle pack looks cool to be fair, so we’ll see how the actual different troops are involved in the movie.

The mustafar set has amazing figures but is otherwise just appalling... it looks horrendous, and the droids don’t even attempt to give the impression that they’re floating, making the earlier set with a Jedi fighter far better at depicting the scene, and you could move those droids about for play... the falling scaffolding type structure is scaled so badly, and the red bricks is the laziest depiction of lava that I’ve ever seen... I think people praising this set are letting their love for the actual scene, and the epic mini figures cloud over what is actually not great.

Obi-Wan’s hut looks nice, and I like that we’ve never had it before.

Luke’s landspeeder has actually made multiple good improvements, especially around the rear, and these seats look so much better than on previous versions, so dramatic improvement there... until they get to the front section and replace a great looking tried and tested formula for the aesthetics and replace it with some rubbish stickers- in a set that is already quite sticker heavy given it’s size! Why??? Presumably so that they can combine the old front with the new posterior in yet another release in late 2022 or early 2023, because, well, apparently we need as many of Luke’s as possible! We had not one, but 2 new landspeeder designs in the first episode of the Mandelorian- surely one of them would have been way more fun and sought after?

Any new x-wing is kinda meh just because we’ve had so many. It looks great to me, and I’m sure it will be a neat set, but it’s just not exciting!

The new Tie design was obviously calling for a set, so I get that it’s justified as a set, but it just doesn’t look good to me, not at all! The number of studs and anti-studs just ruins the whole aesthetic which is meant to be smooth and sleek! Never mind!

So basically, I’ll pick up the Obi-Wan hut, wait for the 2023 landspeeder, and skip the rest... oh, and grab the battle packs on discount obviously!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like the micro fighter sets, and I will get the TiE fighter. I’m disappointed in the battle pack because only one of the mini figs has a helmet like the Sithtrooper on display at Comic Con.

My wife presented me with a gift for our 16th anniversary! 75192!!! My thanksgiving vacation just got consumed with building that beautiful set!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is it too wishful to hope the May UCS set is a £170 / $200 Razorcrest... That would more than make up for any poor sets for at least 12 months!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Judgeguy It seems to be a 2x4 tile and a 2x3 tile.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Can't wait to see The Mandalorian Battle Pack,
Even without a picture I feel confident saying that it's going to be A-day one purchase for Me.
And of course just like with all the other battle packs I like,
I'll be picking up multiple copies.
I'll also definitely be getting the new X-wing,
And The Sith Tie.
Although I'm not particularly Blown away by either Set,
I do like them.
Also I'm very excited that We will now have at least 4 Knights Of Ren.
Hopefully by the end of The Last Jedi's wave of Sets,
We will get a few more of them.
Because in My opinion they're great and as long as
LEGO can keep them unique, And maybe even through custom modifications.
Building an army of them would be awesome.
And Of course I'm picking up several copies of The Sith Trooper Battle Pack.
So all in all I am not all that happy with this latest wave of Star Wars Sets,
I do feel it's a bit on the weak side.
But there are some shining stars in the wave,
And I'll be making sure to get those day one. Unfortunately though I will be passing on the rest of this Wave.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The little bantha is the star of this wave. :-)

Now we seriously need a "Rancor vs. Desert Skiff" double pack!

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Whoa, one whole (non-specialist) sith trooper in the battlepack...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m definitely going to get the obi v anakin set (even though the build’s not that good). I’ve been waiting for that scene to be remade for a while. But is anyone else annoyed that they made anakin have light brown hair? I feel like the dark brown is much more accurate for his appearance in RotS

Gravatar
By in United States,

Awesome sets! But if there's another Landspeeder in the future, I'm gonna throw up.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Can't believe they didn't use Lloyd's new hairpiece from the Ninjago movie on Anakin. What a wasted opportunity, Anakin's current hairpiece is like 11 years old and doesn't look great anymore.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why does Anakin have the high ground on the mustifar set?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Sith Battlepack - that's a win, I'll buy loads. Even the traditionally lame 4th officer figure looks sort of interesting. Same with the as expected rubbish/pointless battlepack build, at least this one has some sand blue parts for spares. Happy with that, same goes for the Microfighters, cheap way to pick up a couple of nice minifigs.

The X-wing is strangely appealing and almost buyable, but the Tie Fighter is very, very dissapointing. That's not usually a thing I'd be likely to say given my taste for imperial kit.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

With respect to the Microfighters, I meant to exclude the T16/Bantha set from my general praise. This looks like another overpriced set (even on discount) just like the Sandtrooper/Dewback/Droids set.

I really wanted a new Sandtrooper too, but that set had too much baggage in the way of needless parts which was an excuse for a price hike. This bantha set fairs slightly better on that front, but they really should be split into 2 single sets.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

That battlepack is a must have! Mustafar is kinda dissapointing, but I'll probably get it. Obi-wan's hutt goes well with my Mos Eisley cantina and an old landspeeder.. and that bantha microfighter.. :D
I love TIE fighters, but dagger just looks kinda weird and I don't like that design at all. And X-wing's colours are just awful.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

@Legodud9898 because it's the "before high ground" scene. This lava floating scene has better playability and design possibilites, but they wasted them. And I was so hyped for this set :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

What a horrible angle at which to photograph the TIE

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yee, a little late to my thoughts here but I wanted to share them. The microfighters are cool sets mostly for the figures but the builds are cute as well. The dual packs have also been pretty interesting. First Kylo Ren's Tie versus A-wing, then Escape Pod versus Dewback and now the T-16 Skyhopper versus Bantha. Like the Praetorian Guard Battle Pack, the Sith Trooper Battle pack is a must have for the figures. I'm not particularly interested in the Junior's set and to be honest, the Tatooine sets don't interest me much either. I've never owned a Luke's landspeeder before and I feel like there are better hut sets even if the Obi Wan's hut is pretty cool. I am excited for the Anakin versus Obi-Wan duel since there are very few sets on that topic and I'm enjoying these lightsaber duel sets. The Dorito Tie and X-Wing are pretty cool but I think they are a bit out of my budget range for a single set.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

why is everyone complaining about the new landspeeder and the 4+ snowspeeder?

i know the last landspeeder was only 3 years ago but who cares? people who didn't get it can now get a much better landpeeder, the same goes for the x-wing aswell, people who didn't get the previous one can get a new one (also i highly recommend looking at the 2017, 2020 and movie luke's landspeeders side by side to really see the massive increase in detail and accuracy)

and the snowspeeder is made for four year olds but again, who cares? i think everyone should be happy that people as young as four can have star wars toys aswell

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

My only complaint is how we keep getting all these Tusken raiders these past few years, and not one of them comes with a flintlock rifle! Always the gaffi sticks.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Really dull wave, but the Mustafar set is the worst. How could the designers possibly make it worse than the 2005 version? As for the mining droid and platform, the ones from the 2012 Jedi fighter set were better. These look hideously simplified.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Does that Knight of Ren have an orc sword??

Gravatar
By in Finland,

So is this gonna be like 2017 when ANH had it's 40th anniversary and it only got one $20 set, but now with TESB

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Totally here to voice the “not ANOTHER landspeeder” sentiment! Jeez!
