LEGO announces the end of Bionicle

Posted by ,

Official: 2010 will be the last year of Bionicle. An announcement was made today by LEGO's Global BIONICLE Director, Jan Faltum stating, among other things, that "the six BIONICLE Stars launching in January will be the last BIONICLE sets for the foreseeable future." You can read the full annoucement at Brothers Brick.

So, what do you think? Good or bad news?

- Bad, because without doubt Bionicle has provided a steady revenue stream for LEGO for 10 years which during the bad times of the mid 2000's helped keep LEGO afloat.

- Good, because, frankly, for the last 3 or 4 years they have been lacking innovation and becoming boring: running out of ideas is probably one of the main reasons for the decision.

The annoucement goes on to say that "The LEGO Group will debut a new, more flexible buildable figure property" next year, and I don't think they are talking about Ben10 because that is mentioned separately, so it will be interesting to see what that is.

Noooo! Bad! this is all ben tens fault! I love bionicle! They will be missed, but they had a good run...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I knew this would come eventually.......they probably ran out of ideas for more sets.

By in United States,

I liked Bionicle, but I'm glad it's over. It ate up too much money I couldn've been spending on other themes and it really was getting boring. I'll try my best to stay away from these new action figure-y things so I don't boow a ton of money there too..... But overall, I'll say that I'm not suprised it's ending (thoguh I am that lego announced it this early) and I'm actually kind of glad to see it gone.

EDIT: Dang, the story's still going on though...... Why end the sets yet continue the story?

By in United States,

Good news. Lego gave Bionicle way to much attention, and the sets were all the same. Lego is finally moving on.

By in United States,

Pff!!! I dont believe the fact that the whole thing lacked innovation. I believe that innovation was still existent during recent years and ongoing after they dropped the gyrating action features they did in earlier years. I like my..."action figures" to strike a pose without swinging to the force of gravity.

This is sad news. I just hope they're really just dropping the name and not the product. Then again...not all the pieces in Bionicle were really that useful for other personal creations, but I guess my little obsession with them has something to do with Xevoz. Remember Xevoz? Anyway, I discovered Xevoz' greatness when they were sold half-price at the KB stores, so I had to really on ebay to get what I could...then I decided to look for love in these things.

And maybe it is for the better y'know? Sure those Ben 10's look stupid, but the Bionicles did at first right? Uhh...no? well tghey didnt have the...ah well. Maybe more ball/socket and ratchet-exo force joint pieces for the regular lines will come out more often.

By in United States,

I loved Bionicle, this is really sad...

And they had better not kill Makuta!!! He's to cool to die!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I loved Bionicle for the first year or too but there were too many sets to keep track off, I would rather have castle, pirates and star wars

Gravatar
By in United States,

When Bionicle first came out, I loved the theme. I don't have many sets, but I remember having a lot of fun playing with those movable parts (Toa swords, Bohrok heads, etc). Bionicle sure has lost some of its greatness with those vehicles in my opinion, but the figures I have to say are still pretty good. Sad to see it go, as the upcoming Bionicle Stars look pretty good. As far as the storyline goes, it doesn't matter too much to me.

By in United States,

I never liked Bionicle, so I think that its good, but the new "more flexible buildable figure property" could be just as bad.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Bionicle was by far the best lego series ever. I think that they should have kept it going, but gotten more intricate in the set design. And What Do You Mean "dumbest series ever"?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

By in Canada,

I think I know how to make the Lego Group start making Bionicles again. If all Bionicle Lovers buy tons of Bionicles (And when I mean Tons I mean more then one), Lego might see all the money Bionicle is making, so they won't possibly stop making sets, so they might Make more Bionicles!

By in United States,

While I was never really a fan of Bionicle I am sad to see what I thought was a great revenue stream for Lego go away. It seems that like every time I am at the store looking at Legos there is a kid begging his parents for a Bionicle.

I'm sure they have something good lined up to replace it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I stopped buying at the Inika, so I don't care. However, I will buy the Rahkshi star set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is good news for me. It never once crossed my mind to buy a bionicle set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll be sobbing for the next few weeks. Enjoy Bionicle while it still lasts!

This is the worst news that I have ever heard! The glatorian are my favourite bionicles and now they are going to do no more! I HATE LEGO PEOPLE NOW!

I will respect that you probably HATED the theme, but there have been WAY worse themes. Galidor, Belville, what else? It's okay to have an opinion, I just disagree that it was the dumbest Lego theme ever. Enjoy your pizza. :|

I'm so sad to see Bionicle go!!! It was a great series, and I'll miss it greatly.

You should see what it looks like on BZPower...

Gravatar
By in United States,

seeing as i never liked nor hated the theme heres what i have to say: bionicle was one of legos most succesful themes and what was great about it was that it was original, not like ben 10 or galidor. although the first years were my favorites, by 2006 the line seemed to be dying. the inika were hideous and lego never really got so creative with toa designs, repeating the inika design. i will probably buy one of the stars sets and i feel sorry to the fans of the line and of bzpower that they devoted their time to collect and build bionicles. although bionicle haters and lovers can agree on one thing: ben 10 sucks ;-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Never cared for Bionicle. They seemed like a weird off-shoot, having nothing to do with the normal Lego universe. I am surprised they are stopping the line, however, given how successful it has been for them. I thought the recent vehicles were actually pretty cool, too; something I've never said for previous Bionicle efforts. I'm sure the line will be re-visited some time down the road. Lego has a hard time leaving the old lines alone for too long.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I never really realized so much Bionicle love existed? I mean really? These parts I feel are limited. Maybe they appeal to some fantasy land, but the more "original" lego pieces that can be used in many different ways instead of large awkward pieces used in several ways (in Bionicle) are the ones I would prefer to be in sets. Seeing as how many people think the ben 10 are going to replace this line, it does not give me a glimmer of hope in Lego's days for AFOL's. I don't feel like these sets ever struck a chord with me, yet I am not knocking those who enjoyed it. I am just merely stating that I will not be sad. I thought the sets looked rather bland for lego's tastes. I wish more sets like the Medeival Market would appear. Only, I know that this is mere wishful thinking and I should use pieces I already have to creat similar buildings and scenes.

BTW, the 2010 pictures don't seem to hold as much promise this year as the the early on ones did last year for 09. Maybe I am jumping the gun, and I hope there are more sets to look forward to.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

well what do you know there are ending!?! well I guess that's okayish. I really liked this year's one though.... I do not know why they would make little sets of the same characters! Yes I do agree that ben 10 suck! If you ask me I am going to miss INDIANA JONES THEME NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! they missed a couple of good scenes to make!!!!! oh well!!!! no more 2010 lego set buying for me!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Bionicle is what started my impuse lego buying, then went downhill in 2005 and really got into city to this day. I wonder what new theme they are talking about

Gravatar
By in United States,

Although the news is sad, its not surprising. When I was 4, I couldnt wait for the arrival of bionicle. When it came, I was both happy and surprised. I followed the series for years until the Ignika came. After that, the series began its spiral down. Lego made an honorable decision by ending the series with the main faces of bionicle. Its gets me sad to see a theme so inovative as this go, but its better to end it while its still popular than to drag it on for years. Oh and those who say bionicle was the worst theme ever should think twice. Bionicle is the most popular and reconizable theme out there and deserves some credit for lasting 10 years. If your going to leave idiotic and immature comments like that, then get off this site.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

The Bionicle franchise hasn't been doing so well around here. The stores either neglect to sell them, or they have Bionicle sets all over the place which they can't sell.

I was a big fan of Bionicle during it's first few years, but then it's... Awesomeness slowly deteriorated year by year. The release of the Bio-figure was a true sign that the theme just wasn't what it used to be. The fact that they began remaking some of the old sets really creeped me out.

So, I'm glad that this one is going down... For now. It'll probably be released again in 10 years when Eurobricks makes a petition! But seriously, I'm very grateful for this news. With this one and Star Wars leaving soon, who knows what'll come?

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

:-( I'm gonna miss bionicle, but at least I'll have lotsof money spare :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

NO! why is this happening i love bionicle it is the BEST theme ever why must they close it down?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Glad to see this theme moving on, I never liked it and didn't think it did the Lego name justice. Let's hope they replace it with something a little more deserving of the name "Lego"! :)

Although I am saddened to see so many people upset by the news. Yes, we all have our favorite themes and we can argue and yell all we want, but the bottom line is that we're all LEGO fans and we're all in this together!

Hopefully LEGO won't release another action figure theme besides Ben10, like...

The return of Galidor... ouch

By in United States,

As I said, First Indy, than Bionicle, last Star Wars. Lego will lose alot of money... Lego, in 2010, is going to be almost 100% aming at young kids; and the older people, who spend the most money, will not have any new sets. Bad move, Lego, bad move. Bionicle got Lego out of bad times, and without it, back in. Lego will figure out what they doomed themself into in late 2010, but it would be to late, and...

Lego R.I.P.
1934-2011

Gravatar
By in United States,

Legos sets are built, improved on, then destroyed. Bionicle parts are useless without their sets. For that, I am glad the theme ended. Btw, why did IJ an star wars end

Gravatar
By in Italy,

I understand all the people who liked Bionicle. But I agree with Huw because in the last few years Bionicle sets were more and more repetitive, and I've never liked them. What's more, they weren't real Lego, in fact they used strange parts. My sole worry is about Lego's earnings in the next years: I hope it won't return in the bad age of early 2000', maybe it colud avoid this introducing new lines (not Ben10 obviously, which is orrible!).

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Nyeh, I liked the first three waves but then It just was overdone.

But...those 'More flexible figures' sound a bit disappointing, to be honest.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Not good... I'm not fan of Bionicle, but it's good series.

:-(

Gravatar
By in United States,

I never really enjoyed Bionicle as much as you guys. I will probably buy one of its last sets at ToysRUs, just to at least remember the theme. I absolutely hope that LEGO will be wise and replace Bionicle with something that is nice. I really think that the Ben 10 theme, which will most likely replace Bionicle, will just be a waste of time for the LEGO company.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I feel rather ambivalent about this...
although I never enjoyed BIONICLE, I felt that it was a pretty good idea, and a pretty good theme (in my opinion, the vehicles were the best, especially Skopio V-?)

Now that LEGO is closing BIONICLE, what will the next theme be?
I don't have much hope for it...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Toa kopaka (from the first wave of bionicles) was one of the first sets I ever owned, and remains one of my favourite sets of all time. Although the later years of bionicle sadden me to look at, the original few waves were excellent, in terms of model, style and storyline. Long Live Bionicle!

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

NOOOO. I'm seriously crying! I knew this would come. They had a good run though. The problem is they had no more ideas. Oh and yeah this is all Ben 10's fault pretty much.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Dude why is everyone cheering, do you really think bionicle should go and Ben 10 should stay?!? this is a nightmare!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

*Cries like a baby for 2 hours* WHY WHY WHY?!? It's my favourite theme EVER! Why cut it short ALREADY?!? *Sighs*

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

The early Bionicle was one of the best things LEGO ever did. It was new, the Theme was completely original, and the idea was a stroke of Genius, however they have officially crashed. That was 5 and half years ago that they did. Something just was wrong and then they just continued downhill. So I'm not to sad to let them go.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Whatever this new line is, I hope it retains regular figure poseability and not that swivel system or some useless/inconvenient action feature.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I bet the new theme is worse.
When BIONICLE ends its going to be really annoying so my plan is do NOT buy LEGO sets until they bring sets back!
2010 is gonna be RUBBISH for LEGO products.

UPDATE- At least the story will continue.

Gravatar
By in United States,

In the earlier years i was a big fan but after the end of the Toa Horidika i really started to give up. They flew through each series before it could really be built on. It's time to move on but it had a really good run.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Good to know Lego IS capable of reasoning things over.

High five! (to any reader: high five your screen, just like me, if you agree!)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Guys, for those of you who are saying that this is the worst series ever, please leave the site. You are happy to celebrate, but please don't insult a great 10-year run. It definitely wasn't the best series ever, but it was far from the worst.

The first four or five years and last year were the best years; the Hordika, Ignika, and Phantoka were pretty bad (Mahri was OK :P) but last year I think things took a slight turn for the better. It's exciting to hear that the story will continue.

I think only time will tell if this is a good move by Lego. With Indy (one of my favorite series) gone, and Star Wars ending in 2011 unless the liscense is renewed, Lego might be back in their 2003 slump.

But Star Wars fans- don't worry about the end of Star Wars. Quote: "The 2010 Star Wars sets will be average, but 2011 is going to ROCK YOUR WORLD."

;)

By in United States,

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
How can they do this!? THey can't get rid of bionicles! IT is my favorit theme!! I knew that ben10 would be troble!! I think ben10 looks dumb and I'll bet it won't last a year!!!!

I'm glad they are at least continuing the story. The toys no longer being made will proboly make the story better because now old carectors don't hafe too evolve every year.

Oh well I hafe to at least thank LEGO for the best 10 Years ever!! and who nows mabey Bionicle will be back and if it happens when I'm 69 or older I'll still by them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! This is horrible. TLG, prepare to have your sales go down faster than the speed of light because you've made a very stupid choice. If Ben 10 can out sell bionicle I'll faint. I've never liked Ben 10 and now they have to replace it in place of BIONICLE?! Everybody, if you are a fan of Bionicle like me, let's stand together. WE CAN NOT LET IT LOSE TO BEN 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will buy some old sets off amazon, bricklink, etc. AND IF YOU ARE WITH ME YOU MUST NEVER GET BEN 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will show TLG, Ben 10 is a stupid cartoon and Bionicle is WAY better!
JOKE: SWAMPFIRE! OH NO IT'S THE TOA MAHRI!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Guys, I'm 99.999999999999999% sure that Ben 10 is NOT replacing Bionicle. (Don't ask me what the 0.000000000000001% is because you don't want to hear it)

Anyway, I'm glad Bionicle's going, personally. The McDonald's promos and Click are the only sets I have.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I admire all the cool new parts bionicle brought to the Lego system, but I don't get what people like about Bionicle either. Can somebody describe what's fun about them?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

please please lego do not get rid of bionicle. bionicle was the theme that made me play with lego it would
be sad to see it go!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

ben 10 is not ever going to replace bionicle for me!ever!ever!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Hey lets start a petition to stop ben 10. it probably won't go very far but lets try it!

Gravatar
By in Finland,

What! No, it can't be!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I never really liked or disliked Bionicle I really stopped following it after the first wave. It's just their in the catologe that I would just skip. I don't know why were also shocked (well I do but anyway) I am surprised that it lasted so long two waves maybe three was it's stronger time after that. Anyway Lego has to move on things can't last for ever it's a new decade next year Bionicle is the child of the 00's not the 10's. And Lego will not fold next year just as long as we continue to buy the lego way I'm sure one thing lego will not do next year will be closing!!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Personally, I never really liked Bionicle. I got a few Brickmaster sets, but that was it. I do question how sales for LEGO will be now that they will stop producing the sets. Bionicle is easily one of the most popular themes ever, and now I'll be flipping through my catelog next year and "whoops, no bionicle".
Now that Bionicles done, the top pretty much goes to Star Wars, wonder what will happen to LEGO's sales when Star Wars is gone....

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Just as I thought... The Stars are just the "swansong" of Bionicle! My theory was 100% true! All Ben 10's fault...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Glad to see it go. Ever since the revival of the Toa Nuva (Which I was really excited for before I saw that they were crapy sets and an attempt to get older fans back involved) I mean, I own the six original Toa and the six Toa Nuva, the past 3 years have just gone downhill. The ridiculus storyline plus the fact the there is more than one Makuta just killed the theme for me. The new vehicles are meh, but at least the showed some of Bionicle's technic roots. Expect it to pop up again in about 5 or so years. (Since they're goig to keep the stupid story going)

As for the replacement theme- well the new Ben 10 stuff based on the LIVE ACTION MOVIE! looks horible. I hope the other theme (The non Ben 10 one) does Lego justice.

Now, don't get me wrong, I liked Bionice, it's just, the theme is so dead and it was wasn't going anywhere. (The fact that the Glatorian cost almost 2x as much as the original Toa didn't help either)

Gravatar
By in N/A,

Im gonna miss BIONICLE ;(

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think all you Bionicle-hater should shut up and go away. Bionicle sold better then Star Wars and Indinana Jones. Lego is going to lose so much money it ain't funny. And, yes, I know that rhymes. Bionicle is, will be, and ALWAYS will be, the best theme. Lego is serouisly gonna go downhill.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Goodness, the polarization going on here is like when Micheal Jackson died.

I like Bionicle, but I find that I'm more looking forward to the new theme than i would be to another 2010 lineup of bionicle.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is sad news. I liked Bionicle so much when I was a kid. All us TFOLs and AFOLs can forget that lego is also a toy. To be honest this year was really the only year I really didn't care for Bionicle. I think that with mabye 1 more year things could have straightened out. The theme definately had it's ups and downs but it was one of the best, most unique, most creative themes Lego ever made. I hope Lego uses Greg Farshtey for other Lego progects. I also am thankful that the Bionicle story will still go on. I think Greg Farshtey can write a better story when he dosn't have to worry about fitting a certain number of Lego toys in it. I am going to have to buy one of the Stars.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Bionicle was one of the best themes! lego was foolish to take it away. Hopefully lego will bring it back in the future like they did the pirate theme...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow,Ive been gone for a few weeks but when I finally signed in, I saw this. I...just can not believe LEGO is going to stop making Bionicle! Ive been a great fan from the start (i think i even have one of those promotion toys!) I am actually shedding tears while I write this. LEGO's releasing another "more flexible" toy? I know no matter how hard that "new" theme tries, it will never surpass the great and fantastic Bionicle. LEGO finally did it they finally messed up. SIGH weve lost a great theme, and a great company.

-LEGOFANATIC2414 sadley OUT!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Never cared for it much myself. It was a nice place for Lego to experiment with new parts that occasionally found their way into more traditional sets. I see the following and I understand the emotions but, I think that it's pointless getting upset about it -at least until you've actually seen the replacement. Lego knows what it's doing. if the same design team is working on the new product line, I doubt you'll be completely disappointed.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Here's the thing: yes, Bionicle was a great theme; it'll take us all a while to get over it (especially me), but Lego Technic says they're going in another direction? Well, if they think this new theme is going to be good enough to replace Bionicle, it outta' be PRETTY DARN GOOD. Unless they're talking about Ben 10. And besides, like jkool said, we're all Legos fans here. Sure, we might have our differences, you either like it or you don't, but at least we all agree we like the same general thing. Maybe not all the same themes, but you get the idea. Those who don't like Bionicle, just stay away from it. Those who like it, at least the story will go on, right?

Gravatar
By in United States,

This looks like the end of lego, they are gonna focus on sugar-crazed 5 year olds, because, apparentley:"the future belongs to 'creative' kids" *siiiiiigh* well, there are more little kids in this world, eventually, the ben 10 will end, all those 5 year olds will start crying, convince their mothers to stop buying the sets, no more preteens will be interested, and, well ... R.I.P Lego.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^true, lego should widen it's age group focus. They shouldn't just satisfy the newest liitle kid trend...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have been a Bionicle fan a few times in my life, but I am not currently, and doubt that I ever would have been again if it continued. Therefore, I only care about this from a financial perspective. I hope Lego doesn't lose too much money from this. I think it has been going downhill in the past few years. It was at it's best in '02-'03 or '04, and after that, it slowly started declining. By '08, I think most of the canister sets were pretty bad, although there have been some great looking vehicles. I hope whatever replaces it does well, and that it is not Ben 10.

Gravatar
By in United States,

i feel both sad, and somewhat relived. i was there from the beggining of bionicle and i have to say, it has in some ways, changed my life. about a year ago it seemed like LEGO was pushing the line of style and story a little too far. Also i am running out of money to spend on these. they had a good run. and i will NEVER stop loving everysingle set they made! Bravo LEGO! its about time.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ben Ten is coming out in February i think......:(. I can't believe that they are ending bionicles....what happened to the toa mahri? what happened to Kopeke Kapura Kotu Onepu Taipu Tamauro and Hafu? What happened to the Barraki?

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is plain stupid. lego thats one bad move you made. now Im not going to love lego. (well maybe a little) But this is bad. Lego is going to lose money fast. (the story will continue on bioniclestory.com but no more sets.:(

Gravatar
By in United States,

We should revolt and not buy any other lego sets until they bring it back.

Gravatar
By in United States,

To be quite honest, i haven't really been interested in these sets since summer last year, but this marks the end of an era. I will be sad to see these go, but it also means the sets will be worth more and people who have them can earn a lot of money.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

I've always found Bionicle pretty much lacking of creativity since they always rely on special designed parts, but they have made some huge sets which indeed was really good.
But yeah, they should move on... only problem is that it will be replaced with a poorer franchise called Ben 10, lol...

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Lolbrick and BioFreak877: Although Bionicle being replaced by Ben 10 might be a possibility (a horrible one), it probably will be replaced by a new, non-licensed line. That's discussed here: http://www.fbtb.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2911
A mecha line actually could be quite cool as long as it was done right, but somehow I doubt that they would use that to replace Bionicle. Former Bionicle fans probably wouldn't be the main audience for a mecha line, since it would be more sci-fi oriented. Also, a mecha line would (hopefully) be system based, and I would expect that any Bionicle replacement would be Tehcnic based.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think that this is kind of good but it really depends on if you are a Bionicle fan. The reason I think its good, is because I think it'll open up some space for more themes. I am personally not a big fan of them but they do look pretty cool.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

look I forgot to say this before but a lot of you think Ben 10 will replace Bionicle it won't they mention doing something with a third party that is Ben 10 they have made it clear that Ben 10 isn't the replacement oh and reading it again Ben 10 will be the thing for younger kids the replacement for Bionicle will agian not be Ben 10 and will not be for young kids it will be for older kids and lego's own idea! HA!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I find this strange, since I found on a Bionicle website(I can't remember which) that Greg Farshley had already made the storylines for Bionicle from 2009-2011. Why stop now?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Bionicle can never be "discontinued". LEGO will just stop making the sets, and parts will become more valuble. The story will never stop because we will never let it.

P.S. LEGO will discontinue the sets in 2010. The storyline, however, will continue for 2 more years.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Let me put this into an analogy for fun and for perspective.

When the bionicle train first pulled into the station, many loved it and my friend showed me the train. Everything looks grand at first, and for a few years and many rode this train for years but durring one of best years of LEGO, bionicle went SCARY. they got creepy and I failed to buy all but one. they got wierder and weirder. My family and I conersed many times and we realized that they were just using bionicle to create new pieces for one set. bionicle was costly, repetative (i'm growing away from the analogy) and boring and come 2009, I realized want a wallent dent they were making. I did a tuck and roll of the train and did some reading. I found my bionicles might turn out to be a good invesment and this could be a good thing. since then, I have been waiting for this day to come like a fog lifting and the sun showing me what I was missing. I now see that the track lead right over a cliff. The tracks make a sharp jerky move to the side and that will derail the train and send the sets of the cliff. The tracks continue into the sunset, the sstory that drove them on. fans of bionicle(not me) and fans of only the story(me) will walk these tracks onward and some of us will find this new line right over the casam. I for one will embrace this new theme, whatever it will bring but in the beck of m head I know, there are those who will not. I know some of these people by face and others by name alone but if you, the reader know me, I think you know or can find out who these people are. Let is continue along the tracks and into the fog. I will, from now on, put the days until we see the new line at the bottom of my post. if this is a problem, please one of the editors or officials let me know and I will stop.

32 days or 753.5 hours or 45210 minutes or 2712600 seconds until the replacemet of bionicle and the goodbye party.

It is not Ben 10, they said more flexable. 22 pieces for the biggest one is not flexible, I think it will be almost like bionicle but with the "lego" pieces tha we know and love, not just technic.

31 days until the replacement of bionicle, and the party.

FWIW All 6 Bionicle Stars were in stock at the Burlington, MA Lego Store today when we dropped in for the monthly build. Look for 'em near you. Some 2010 Racers, Technic, Power Miners, Space Police and Atlantis sets on the shelves too!

Well you had to see this coming. This was the longest theme i've stuck with. but I went away from bionicle because well they just weren't as good as the first. Now bionicle is a thing of the past and I'm on to Star Wars and I plan to stick with that for a long, long time. At least it lasted this long as it almost never was in the first place. Also, I think Im going to get the stars just to commerate the sets that i have loved for so long.

I still find it strange that they say they "lacked innovation", because the Glatorians had actual hands this time. Sure Malum didnt have hands, but he had those brand new claws. I tend to believe these hands were a step up from previous lines.

Very sad at the discontinuation but after vehicles started around 20.00 to 90.00 I could never manage to buy at those prices. The Toa Olda are still my favorites and the Rahkshi remain my favorite villians to this day. Bionicle Heroes as the farewell set seems lacking in every way and it seems a cop out because the canistered Mata-Nui should have been the last figure in the line IMO. Skopio XV-1 screams innovation every which way as well as one big figure Im going to get even if I do pass up every last hero to afford it.
