By in United States,

hope the threshold for the hidden side set isn't too high

By in United States,

Looking forward to both of these.

By in Netherlands,

I don't really care for seasonal sets, but the chicken coop build is very nice, especially the little ramp, that's clever.

By in Belgium,

That fried egg as scooter lamp is genius

By in United States,

The availability for the hidden side one was revealed on the US January 2020 calendar, starts the 21st of January and goes like a week into February with purchases of $45

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

The Drag Racer could've been a 10 dollar set....
Missed opportunity

Gravatar
By in United States,

OMG, is that a possessed Dwayne "the Block" Johnson?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really missed an opportunity with an Easter-Hidden Side crossover.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The chicken coop is the best part IMHO

Gravatar
By in Poland,

dragsters starts 24 january on lego shop with purchases over 45 $

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Yet another huge engine/intake block... Did they overproduce these?

Gravatar
By in Finland,

Hidden Side meh
Easter cute

Gravatar
By in United States,

That looks like a different piece used as the kickstand for the scooter (it's another handlebar?). In the past it's been a simple bucket handle.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Easter set looks great.

Gravatar
By in France,

The Easter one is petty cute.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm guessing the Easter one will be available from late March until around April 12th (Easter) with purchases of at least $50 or so.

Gravatar
By in United States,

No complaints here. My 2 year old loves checking on our chicken coop. I’ll Set this one away for his birthday.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

with any luck, the Easter set will be available at Sainsbury's again...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I hope THAT chicken didn’t have to lay THOSE eggs. Ouch!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I definitely need the Easter set. It is super cute. I'll have to see if there is anything interesting enough to make getting the dragster worthwhile. Maybe a trip to the not so local store to pick bricks off the wall and BAM bar. I can easily spend $45 doing that.

By in United Kingdom,

tbh first read this as LEGO Hidden Side Easter promo which got me excited but then realised its a Hidden Side set and a Easter set.

Nevertheless the Easter set looks epic and the Hidden Side dragster looks too similar to last years City Dragster Polybag which I didn't like in the first place.

From what I've heard the Hidden Side is a freebie with £45 spends and the Easter is with purchases over £35.

By in Australia,

Hidden Side sucks, but the Easter Bunny isn’t too bad. I like the builds included, but I rarely get seasonal sets so a hard pass for me.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

Love the Easter bunny! What a cute promo. Hidden Side might be worth getting as a taste of the theme.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Love both of these and I will aim to get both of them.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Easter one looks good. May attempt to get it depending on how one obtains it.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Before I declare if I will be getting one or both of these sets, I’d like to take a quick poll to see who actually cares whether I seek to add these to my personal collection or not.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

If I were a betting man, I’d bet heavily on the “or not.”

Nevertheless, I am going to tell you anyway. I want both of these sets, because, well, they’re both LEGO. But honestly, I doubt I’ll actually get either, primarily because I can’t be bothered and/or am not organized enough to plan my purchases so as to obtain particular GWP items.

You may all sleep well now knowing my personal stance on this issue. Goodnight.

By in United Kingdom,

I love seasonal minifig promo sets.

Yay for the Easter bunny!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Hidden Side set has no "hidden side". Still, it's free.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^In that case the drag racer has a serious dermatological problem, surely! And I wouldn't be so sure about his car, either....

By in United Kingdom,

The hidden side Lego is, as always cool, with a phone piece. The Easter bunny set gets me though. The creativity put into the build is off the scale with a handlebar piece as the stand on the motorbike and the egg improvisation. It’s also good to see that cardboard packaging is being used instead of single use plastic poly bags. The chicken is super cool and the methods they used with the pieces for the hutch is just beyond me. How did they get it looking so good in just 51 pieces? And why can’t they do that for smaller Star Wars and Ninjago models?

@Brickmasterboy:
Many GWPs could be released as a $5-10 set. That's kind of the point, isn't it? Look, they are probably contractually bound to sell everything at MSRP. The bulk of their sales happen through major retail partners rather than LEGO Brand Retail. Since The LEGO Company's business partners are also LEGO Brand Retail's direct competitors, they kind of have to play nice or risk losing retail channels. One key point is that they have an unfair advantage on pricing as they are both the manufacturer and retailer, and therefore can afford to dip below MSRP and still stay profitable (especially if they jack up the wholesale price on everything), so it's a pretty common requirement that manufacturers who also double as retailers have to agree not to discount their prices. GWPs and VIP points are two ways that they can give fans better bang for their buck without directly changing the sticker price on the sets they sell, and they like to offer a wide range of GWPs with different purchase thresholds. The small stuff works for people with tiny budgets, who maybe can't drop three figures on a single purchase. The large stuff works for people who need something a little meatier to actually draw their interest, and who may shun stuff on the small end of the GWP scale.

@CathyVT:
On a guess, the bucket handle hasn't performed as desired for a scooter kickstand. Speaking from personal experience, you pretty much have to extend it lower than desired and press the scooter down, causing the bucket handle to hinge upwards until the tires touch. You can't reach under the scooter to push it down, where the handlebars would actually stick out far enough to touch the ends. Any side-to-side pressure on the scooter will cause the bucket handle to hinge upwards even more, resulting in the scooter falling over. The handlebars are short enough vertically that they can be oriented more vertically, which would help lock them in position. The only issue I see is that the bucket handle flattens out a lot better against the scooter when you want to roll it around a bit.

The Hidden Side one looks great, but I'm not a fan of the Bunny Suit in the Easter one

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm interested in the dragster, but for conversion for City use. Is it confirmed that it will be offered in the UK, and when?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

There is a printed egg tile in the easter one and I desperately need it

Gravatar
By in United States,

@magmafrost:
The 1x1 egg tile already comes in eight sets, mostly from Friends. There's also a 2x2 version, from TLBM.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Set 853990 Easter Bunny is now available for $7.99

Gravatar
By in United States,

No spares (of 1x1 tiles) at all in 853990 Easter Bunny. Bummer - I was hoping for an extra fried egg. :)
