New build-a-minifigure parts for February
Posted by Huw,
LEGO continues to add exclusive new parts to the build-a-minifigure bars in brand stores.
Unfortunately it does so without announcement or fanfare so it can be difficult to know when they are added and what they are. And, because they are just chucked into the bins with all the old parts, it's difficult to actually find them, too.
I am indebted, then, to Markus who posted a picture of three minifigures made using the new parts in the Brickish members Facebook group a week or so ago, so I knew what to look for in my local store this morning.
They are Easter and spring-themed and include a delightful chocolate bunny.
The chocolate rabbit is definitely my favourite of the three. The 'hat' is a recolouring of the piece first used in series 7 minifigure 8831 Bunny Suit Guy.
I believe the head is a new print: at least searching for 'whiskers' at BrickLink does not bring up anything similar.
The torso has piped icing (or perhaps it's coloured white chocolate) detail on the front and back, and he's carrying a bar of chocolate.
Flower girl re-uses the 'hat' that first appeared in series 18 minifigures, 71021 Flower Pot Girl, but in a new light blue colour. The torso is the same as used for that figure, but with yellow hands instead of lime green.
I've no idea if this is a new head.
Finally, this new butterfly girl makes use of series 10 71001 Bumblebee Girl's hat, which is new here in dark pink, and series 17 71018 Butterfly Girl's wings, which are unchanged. I think the head print, with butterfly face painting, and the torso are new.
She has an alternative, non face-painted, expression on the other side of her head.
What do you think of these new parts and minifigs? Will you go and seek them out?

Ok....
Hope they have a variety
In one minute the comments will have exploded
What about a little creativity?
The bunny with wings?
I picked up a couple of butterfly wings a few weeks back, though all the other stuff is new to me. Most recently I got a pink elephant head piece and a jumper with a Vitruvian Man design, which I was thoroughly impressed by. Not sure if they're exclusive, however.
They should have one of the bunny's ears half-bitten off.
Is that a blue teddy bear I see in the lead picture?
I've already had the chance to get these parts but definitely want to get more of that plant head. So many MOCing opportunities, and nice to see a CM piece being reused!
Aw man, I'd love to grab these for my costumed minifig collection but there's no brand store in my near vicinity. Guess it's waiting for bricklink then.
In my local store (Cleveland, OH), these three figures were preassembled in a blister pack for $9.99. They were not mixed in with the usual "build a minifigure" parts. Still works out the same in terms of price, if you just want the 3 figures as pictured. But you cannot mix and match. Not sure if all Lego Stores followed this practice.
Hope they're still around in summer, as it will probably be until then that I get a chance to visit my nearest LEGO store. Still, looking forward to adding more Trick-or-Treat kids to my Halloween costumes collection.
@Mister_Jonny
Both the designs you mentioned are indeed new. That same set of releases also brought us a pair of blue/black dual molded short legs, a pink torso with red heart design, a set of white robes for a Jack Frost type character, and a red qipao.
Interesting. My local LEGO Store (which is the closest one to the Enfield headquarters and--from what I'm told--is therefore the location they use for piloting ideas) had completely different exclusive parts for February that came out this week. A bunch of the parts were for making a pink elephant with a red heart on her torso. The headgear was the same as the elephant costume from Series 18, but pink.
There was also a white shirt with dark blue sleeves and a Vitruvian Man print on the front.
Are these in wider circulation than the Westfarms Mall Store or am I just seeing pink elephants?
I don't have any build a fig stores near where I live. A shame as these exclusive parts are always so awesome! I did manage to snag some of the Halloween ones on Bricklink though
Come on Lego, think of the people who live MILES away from a store. Make these available in a pack every quarter, 3 months worth, 6-9 figures, £15 - £20.

Yep. I saw him as well. I totally agree about the bunny ears.
Does anyone else find the bunny’s face disturbing?
Will we find them in the Brickset database?
Waiting for a break in the snow that has been hitting us about every other day so I can venture to my not so local Lego store in hopes of finding some of the new figure parts. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day. Anyone been to the store at Disneyland recently? I'll be there next month so if I don't find anything tomorrow hopefully I'll have better luck when I'm there.

I believe the parts you mention were January's selection: http://www.newelementary.com/2020/02/lego-bam-exclusive-minifig-january.html
@woosterlegos , sometimes the stores here have them pre-assembled but not always, and not today in Southampton. They are just £4.99 for 3 in the UK so much better value than in the US!

No, as they do not appear in sets.
@Slobrojoe, I wasn't sure if the teddy was new in that colour or not, but picked it up anyway...
I called the store near me (Sheffield) about these yesterday and the person was reasonably rude. Sounded like he couldn't be bothered to look and told me he couldn't find any after 5 to 10 seconds (This was at near to 7pm)
Might be better off going in myself...
I checked my local Lego store yesterday and there was no chocolate bunny or flower. The workers were totally surprised when I showed them the pictures of what I was looking for. Hopefully they show up. I did manage to get the elephant and some of the other new parts though.

Thanks @Huw for confirming they are in Southampton will pop in over weekend when passing by to that other Scandinavian emporium that is close to the Lego store to pick up some frames, etc.
The creepy bunny face reminds me of the bunny in teen titans go that the nippers watch
Thanks for posting about these new minifigs! I rely on social media for new set/piece info and haven't visited any Lego forums for quite a while.

Yes, it's very disturbing. Still got one, though.
When the parts ARE pre-assembled in blister packs - usually the store will still allow you to swap them out. They just do that to offer an easy option for kids to grab an item without having to assemble it, and for collectors looking for just the "new"/seasonal stuff (like this). But there's theoretically supposed to still be some of those pieces in the general bins available for mixing-and-matching. My store is fine with it if you open up one of those blister packs and swap pieces.
I wish I knew that they did this monthly or IF they did posted it on their site. My daughter would go nuts
I found these as a pack at the Lego Store in Lille (North of France) last weekend, as well as the other three including the penguin and the pink elephant; each pack cost 6.99, so great value for money indeed.
In the BAM bins, I found the Vitruvian Man torso, as well as a Chip (or Dale?) torso from the Disney Station! Also a dog, a cat and a rat.
I like the blue teddy bear the most :)
These are (or were last time I was in there) available in the LEGO stores in QLD.
I want these! The new teddy bear color!
I'd get 3 of the chocolate rabbits!!!!

I take this back.
Went in tonight and got some. Had to ask for Valentines ones. The Easter ones are in pre-made blisters. Store Manager told me they are limiting all these parts because they know people are scooping them up for resale and want to keep a fair quantity to visiting customers who want these.
Many Thanks to Kevin and Benjamin for the help if you happen to read this.
I like the new parts!! They are so beautiful and related to the CMF series.
But the part that I love most...is the blue teddy bear!!! Another one for my collection of all the teddy bears!!
Anyone that can take it, please, contact with me!!! I need it , and I need it now!!!
The butterfly face will go nicely with the face painting stall in the carnival set
I so need to go to one of these stores.
This is where I wish TLG would throw these up onto P+B after a month or two being in the store.
No seriously: the nearest Lego stores to me are in Vancouver (roughly 5hrs away, if the roads are favorable, about 7 otherwise...possible waaaaay longer), or Calgary, AB (7 hrs, unless the Rodgers Pass is closed, then...) (although flight to either is about an hour, but then you need ground transport...). Often suggested a Lego store in Kelowna, but it's got the same likeliness as an Ikea. Which is too bad, most of these BAM parts have been really good so far, even this batch (it's going to be tough to beat Halloween batch though)
That chocolate bunny is adorable. Now we are waiting for a chocolate Santa!

Does each store have different release schedules?
The one in Las Vegas told me they get new parts quarterly.
These would be cool if I had access to them ://
Love that chocolate bunny suit!
There will be two of those blue teddy bears in the upcoming Fairground Accessory Set:

Can you find these in NYC? If so in which LEBO Store? Thanks.
I just got most of January's parts, and that was about 13$ Canadian if I recall. I certainly hope I can find these next payday.
When are these supposed to be available? Other than the wings, my store had none of these parts. This is exactly what I hate about lego store: whatever item I go in for is guaranteed to be out of stock. I can't remember the last time I walked out of there with a purchase. I always leave empty handed and disappointed.
I like the idea of building your own mini figure but I can never find the pieces I want because they are rare. So it's reality frustrating.

They are officially Q2 pieces, not “February” pieces. Love Brickset, but articles like this are creating an unnecessary panic. Lego does not have monthly pieces for BAM, just quarterly pieces. One district in the US got a hold of them early and put them out against LEGO policy. Do not worry, they will be everywhere and just as common as the pink Valentine’s elephant soon enough.

And the one at the Westfield in Bondi, NSW as of about a week ago. They also had the hair, head, torso and skirt of the ice wizard/hippy from the previous wave of BAM exclusive parts.
They still had pre-made packs of these three minifigs, for sale in the Brighton store yesterday.
