By in United States,

The bunny, turtle, and pinata pieces all look fantastic, and I'm happy to get more colors of brick-guys. Orange and black is a nice color for knights. This series doesn't really pop as much as the last one did, but it still looks great and a lot of these figs are massable adding use to the extras.

Gravatar
By in Malaysia,

Red Ranger for sure. And maybe Piñata Boy, Viking, Green Brick Guy.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Huh, interesting selection. Not sure there are any that specifically jump out at me this time, personally; but it's always neat to see another wave showing up ^^

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow! Wow! Wow! So many great parts & prints. Need them all yesterday.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That turtle is awesome. Also really like the drone.

I feel like the green brick suit guy is a “we don’t have any other use for this mold let’s just stick another in the minifigure series” type of thing.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Keytar guy for me, being a child of the 80's. Power Ranger, Llama, Pinata kid and Viking are also on my to-buy list.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The "Electronic Musician" could totally be Billy Hargrove from Stranger Things.

Gravatar
By in United States,

A more authentic Viking! Looks great

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

After 20 standard series it starts (or did it start a long time ago?) to look somewhat same-same.

Wonder how long people will keep buying these.

Personally the themed Series 14 Monsters is my favorite.

What could be a candidate for another non-IP themed series?

Gravatar
By in United States,

LEGO is gonna get sued with that Red Ranger. Unless it’s supposed to not look like a member of the Power Rangers

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll probably get another full set like I did with set 19.

Also, if you're going to attend a Toy Fair and take pictures, please get a decent camera.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

half of them seem interesting, great torso prints and new printed accessories.
expected a bit more oopmh but good enough.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Honestly Drone Guy and Diver look appealing for my City.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I need the turtle diver and the synth rocker. Other than that, it's great series to just buy randomly. None of the other figures scream 'need' to me, but they all look fun.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The keyboard/guitar guy looks a bit like Alex Lifeson. I don't know if Alex ever played a keyboard/guitar mix... but he certainly looks like the figure.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Red Ranger, Rocket Boy, Diver, Nunchaku Guy, Drone Guy, and the Pinata boy all look appealing.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

The viking is quite epic, but the other figs don't excite me. Positively surprised by the amount of useful parts with each of them.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

Pretty good, but the last two numbered series were probably a bit better

Gravatar
By in United States,

Love the LL928 print on Rocket girl! The NASA rocket is a bonus.

Gravatar
By in Latvia,

Really cool series, can't wait for good images

Gravatar
By in Canada,

There are some great close ups on the Beyond the Brick video. https://youtu.be/F_MN0_p7rLY
I like the tile that goes along with the space girl, and that little turtle is pretty cute.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

From the 0--7 on the athlete's top I was guessing it could be 0937 and just confirmed this by other photos from the Toy Fair on other sites

I would love if they dove into the food mascots completely, but I'm also fine with how they slowly release them. Pea girl is fun so will be a great addition

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thank @Darth_Dee for pointing that out! I'd love to have multiples of that minifig! I'm trying to collect an assortment of minifigs that have LEGO-branded torsos or designs (like the Fabuland girl and Blacktron boy).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is that a new sword design the knight is holding, also love the realistic viking!

Gravatar
By in United States,

First time I've really liked more than half since Series 16

Gravatar
By in United States,

As someone whos in a rocketry club at college, I really want to try and see if I can get the rocket boy and possibly the drone pilot as well

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Can't help but feel quite underwhelmed. Half of these are slight variants of previous CMFs.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

The bricksuit guy is a must have for me, as well as the Rocket boy. Maybe some other figures too but I'm too emotional to think about that now

Same day as this 20th series gets announced, the creator of the minifigure passed away.

R.I.P Jens Nygaard Knudsen

Gravatar
By in United States,

Llama llama llama llama LLAMA!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love this selection! Especially Drone Pilot, Rocket Boy, and Sleepy girl!!!

Gravatar
By in France,

Pour moi se sera le costume de brique vert dixième anniversaire, et piniata boy.. bon je veux la collection complète.. lol

Gravatar
By in United States,

Viking, Pirate, athlete, diver and 2-3 knights for me

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Some hood ones here lego... Hermione's hair in blonde could be s good wig for supergirl also love the diver, Drone Boy and peas in a pod girl:

We need updated scientist, Hockey player, judge, policeman, postman, Architect and a cricketer in the next minifig series..

Gravatar
By in Israel,

8 girls, 8 boys. Equal representation. Is this the first time?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Can't believe $5 is the standard price for these now...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ooh, I like the somewhat more historical looking Viking. And I can do with a better look at that knight, what detailing has he got on that tabard?

I wholeheartedly agree that it’s good to get a historical accurate Viking.

Gravatar

I need Rocket Boy!!!!!!

Oh yes!
But I believe it is LL918...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finally, some figures that can be massable (not saying previous ones were bad bc it was not massable). Definitely gonna have to horde the Viking and the knight and modify some of them. Asides from that this is a decent collection of figures. Good thing I'm able to get these half-off :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That's the 918, One-Man Space Ship on the torso, not the much larger 928. Still lovely. More people probably had that one anyway!
I love the turtle, though it's a bit small by the standards of some marine species! Maybe it's one of Olivia's rescue juveniles... Love the cute toy bunny.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Viking helmet will be perfect for Rohirrim soldiers

Gravatar
By in United States,

$5?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Fingers crossed they use some common sense and reduce the prices back to normality of £3 / $4 and not ridiculous £3.50 and $5 price tags they are killing us with.

Gravatar

@soulgun said:

I think that is the idea as it's a 10th anniversary collection.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Piñata boy, drone pilot, and rocket boy. I just really need that piñata piece.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Viking. Love that the helmet (noticeably sans horns) has been produced in a more historically accurate manner.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not the most inspired series I’ve ever seen but I can never have enough knights and vikings. Red Ranger is pretty cool too and I wouldn’t mind having a Geoff Downs/Rick Wakeman.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Viking, pirate, diver and knight... What have we done to earn so many great figures in one series?
(beside endured alot of really boring series)

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Nice wave, gotta pick up a lot of them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

KEYTAR!!!!
Some good, some meh, but all will be collected by me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yes, finally the green boys get a green version of the brick guy :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

love them all but not for $5.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I totally missed the keytar. Now I can create a Herbie Hancock minifig.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Sentai Guy!!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

LL918 torso! The keytar is definitely a yamaha shs-10!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Maybe it’s just the photography, but this series feels a little bland. Can’t spot any ‘must have’ figures as a whole, but rather cool parts here and there like the turtle and keytar.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Why is the peas in a pod girl holding an apple? Can anyone explain pls?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Not bad; probably the best unlicensed series in a while. Standouts would be the drone pilot, Hip hop girl and Nunchaku fighter. The turtle and Keytar pieces are also really neat.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Putting Vikings and Knights in CMFs with no actual Castle theme on shelves (no, Harry Potter isn't one) is just annoying.

"better then nothing" isn't an argument here, if CMF sells, Castle sets would sell.

CMF being random doesn't make that any better either (not everyone has stores to "feel"/cheat).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I got bored of CMFs a long time ago, I think we've had a number of series now which have been scraping at the barrel, and only the Viking is interesting me here to be honest.
An unpopular opinion, but I believe it.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

These look great! Piñata boy, sleepy girl, Llama girl and hip hop girl are definites for me. Maybe also peapod guy and scuba diver. I like ones that will fit into my winter village and city. Though once I see them up close I can often think of ways to fit in some of the others :-)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Viking is the one for me.
So happy they've gobe with a proper Gjemundbu helm & not that nonsensical horned rubbish

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Series 20. Where's Mrs Gold? I was expecting something special for this series.
The themed series do seem to be the best now. I agree with @iriz that the monsters theme series 14 was the best. The Birthday party series is also really good. I'd love to see more themed series. A space one would be awesome.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I definitely want most of these, so will no doubt end up getting the lot.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

They actually call it Red Ranger? Wow, Hasbro must be really hoping to cross promote the Power Rangers with this. I'm surprised they didn't call it something like Cosplay Person, or Power Robot or something more generic.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Props to them for doing a viking without friggin horns I guess (although a drinking horn piece would have been fantastic...)

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Why do they have a straight up knock-off Power Ranger figure in there?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Awesome series! Love the new turtle piece!!

Im really impressed with the viking, its nice to finally see a realistic portrayal of a viking warrior.

I like the knight a lot, good colours. Shame theres no new helmet piece.

The pirate is a tad plain, but could be useful for 'civilian' merchant crew.

Green brick guy and rocket enthusiast are also cool. The rocker guy with the synthesizer is a let-down. Id hoped they meant a keyboard synth :(

Get out of my brain! These are the must haves for me from this series too.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Viking, Red Ranger, Keytar player. My top three.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

The green brick guy is great and I will propably get him, but I have lost interest. Too many series every year. And some of the figures are just too hard to get and I dont want all the duplicates.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I need the Piñata Boy

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Hold on.

Red Ranger?!?

Gravatar
By in United States,

The figures are a little underwhelming after the previous series, but there are some great accessories. The llama suit girl, pea suit girl, and pinata boy are my immediate favorites. The knight and green brick feel like unnecessary remakes, and what the heck is a red ranger?

And the pea suit girl should be holding a carrot instead of an apple.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not as good as the last series (not talking about the justice league), but I am excited about the pea girl and piñata boy

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@devilhead said:
" and what the heck is a red ranger?"

The red/white/black superhero looks a bit like the costumes used in the Power Rangers series.

Costume does varies per season , LEGO one is different enough with that huge golden V shape on the helm.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have to say this is the first wave in a while where there isn't a "must have" figure for me. Most of these figures are so-so, some interesting parts but a pretty disappointing wave overall.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wondering why we haven’t seen anything regarding DC Super Hero sets.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

I need a box.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am loving Sleepy Girl, Llama Costume Girl, Viking, Piñata Boy, Pea Costume Girl, and the Knight.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The hair on the pirate girl will be perfect for Elizabeth Swann.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nice keytar, and that "Red Ranger" looks a lot more like a Kamen Rider than someone from Super Sentai/Power Rangers.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

If it really is 918 then I must find that figure. Because 918 is the best Lego set ever made. (928 is quite good. Yes I went there)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love the viking and the knight. The viking has a sweet new helmet and some great dual molded parts, the knight is less interesting but I love the new sword piece. The rest of figures are meh to me but I do like the sea turtle piece

Gravatar
By in United States,

There are lots of interesting accessories but the figure that has me hooked is Pea Pod Girl--she's brilliant! Also like the Llama costume and Pinata Guy. Yes, I'll probably want the whole set in the end....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ecleme11 said:

Yes, you can see the new sword more clearly here: https://www.brothers-brick.com/2020/02/22/lego-71027-collectible-minifigures-10th-anniversary-unveiled-at-toy-fair-new-york-news/lego-toy-fair-new-york-collectible-minifigures-16/ .

I agree about the knight and viking. I’ll be getting both of those as well as the pea-pod girl, plus a few others for parts.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is the red ranger a legit power ranger? Or just like an homage?

Gravatar
By in United States,

A lot of great figs here. I wish Lego would calm tf down with releasing these CMF series. Barely able to collect one series before the next one is out, it's constant.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Pirate, knight & viking stand out for me.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It’s been a while since we had any historical warfare figures for my frame - now we get 3 :) (although the pirate’s a bit tame). My costume frame gets llama guy, pea suit girl and green brick guy, my sports frame gets the athlete and fighter and my musician frame gets the keytarist... pretty good selection

Gravatar
By in Australia,

A lot of cool new pieces but not as many exciting figures for me.

I like Sleepy Girl, Llama Suit and Pea Suit.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I need the Knight, Viking, Pirate, Sleepy Girl, Pea Pod. Want Rocket Girl, Pinata Guy, Green Brick, Scuba Girl. Who am I kidding, I'll end up getting most if not all of them. Definitely will need multiples of the first 4 I listed.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Red Ranger is really cool. Hoping they'll do more like that, would love a whole Lego sentai team

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I always liked the working guys with lots of personality: janitor, painter, mechanic. There's nothing for me in this series.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@yamaki said:

Agreed. Nothing that appeals to me very much in this series. And especially not at 4.99. An RRP of 3.99 was ridiculous enough already, 4.99 is totally off. More money saved.
Might get the Classic Space fan torso separately, but that's about it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My favorites are Drone Pilot, Diver, Rocket Girl and Hip Hop Girl.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Many of these are interesting. This series seems to be the only place minifig animals slowly catch up with friends animals. If Lego is reading these comments: the price increase has significantly reduced the amount of these and polybags I have purchased this year. At $3.99 - although steep - I bought all of the last few series. I didn’t mind getting doubles. $4.99 is too much. I only bought a few of the DC figs and will do the same or fewer with these. Lego, you are costing yourself sales.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why is Piñata Boy wearing a sombrero and poncho? I know he is an anniversary variant of the past “Maraca Man” fig, but I don’t feel like this is a very practical outfit to be smashing a piñata in.

I agree about the postman and architect, and especially the hockey player ... it's been too long since the first CMS hockey player was released, and he still has no one to play against! Same with the American football player, too, actually - a red one would be great. And don't get me started on the soccer player.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

The viking, a nice addition to my "classic warriors" sub-collection,
both musicians ; the 80's guy and the hip-hop girl
and, maybe the pirate an rocket girls..
the others?.. they have nice accessories for sure.. but chasing a rather meh figure just for some bits that come with it? To much of " I' have seen this one before.."
Also, despite the fact they might be the most popular ones, never been a fan of the costumes..
Used to collect them all, but I guess I am having, since a couple of series ago, a CM fatigue..

damns the knight has a new sword mold. that and the new nunchuk chains are perfect. It also looks like the viking's helmet and beard are separate pieces.

Gravatar
By in United States,

$5 for a non-IP set is too high—especially when there is so much samey sameness. Maybe our local Wal-marts will still sell these for $4 like they are doing for the latest DC packs.

Viking, Pirate, Knight, Llama Girl, Pea Girl, Diver are a MUST! The Athlete is a maybe just for the white javelin.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Kind of disappointed...this is the 20th series and 10th year and nothing ?? it's just all meh

Gravatar

Gravatar
By in United States,

*does a quick check* Okay, it looks like that is _NOT_ the same piñata that appears in LEGO Masters. That would be severely messed up if it was.

I get why they didn't, but I wish they'd get around to releasing the medal in silver and bronze.

@TeriXeri:
So, a weird thing about the early CMFs is that this is exactly what the secondary barcode was for. LEGO Stores (but not other retail chains) had the ability to scan the minifig-specific barcode which would show them exactly which minifig you were buying. The purpose of this was to allow them to see which minifigs were most popular. Except the blind bag format meant you weren't supposed to know what you were buying. Except there were barcode sheets you could print out, apps you could download, websites that you could pull up, and in a pinch you could always palp the packets like many of us do now, so in reality a _lot_ of us actually did know exactly what we were buying.

@Odeinoichus:
I suspect those are not the official names.

@devilhead:
The Llama stole it.

@MutoidMan:
They're probably doing another summer release, which puts it just past the cutoff for NYTF. I think they did the same thing last year.

Gravatar
By in United States,

For everyone asking about the "Red Ranger" - this is a generic homage character, it's a reference to Sentai shows which is basically a whole subgenre of superhero television/fiction in Japan. Most famously the show "Super Sentai" was adapted in the US as Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, which is where the term "Red Ranger" comes from. Another well-known example is Kamen Rider. In the US, when MMPR first became popular, there was a wave of similar conversions and copy-cats on Saturday mornings, like Big Bad Beetleborgs, VR Troopers, and Superhuman Samurai Cyber Squad. You can also think of Voltron as being a sentai anime (it's animated, not live action). And the famous/infamous old Japanese Spider-Man TV show has a lot in common with the tropes of these shows.

I'm assuming the name "Red Ranger" was not assigned by LEGO but is just the most apt description possible given by the photographer or by Brickset. It's not uncommon for the community to develop names for the CMF figures before LEGO releases any "official" names for them, and those official names are rarely visible anywhere since they're not on the packaging or the web site. I would think LEGO would be more likely to name them "Red Hero", "Super Squad Red", or something more generic like that. But I'm guessing they could get away with "Red Ranger" if they wanted to, anyway.

I would not be surprised if they gauge reaction to this one and then sprinkle in a Blue Ranger, Yellow Ranger, etc. from time to time in future waves. (I'd be into it!)

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

I think the 'Pirate' is the only thing I'll be getting here, I enjoy they she is a bit different from all the other Disney-type pirates with hook hands and patches and striped shirts.

I'm assuming the new hairpiece is going to be included in the new Pirate Bay set, it's nice to get a sneak peak of what we're going to get.
