What can Brickset do for you?
Posted by CapnRex101,
Various dramatic changes have taken effect recently, following the Coronavirus outbreak. They include many more people working from home or self-isolating.
We understand this may provide some people with additional spare time at home and that Brickset can be a valuable source of information and entertainment during this period. We will therefore be focusing on publishing even more reviews, editorial articles and activities than usual within the next few weeks.
Furthermore, we intend to highlight some of Brickset's most interesting features, including the collection analysis section which I regularly enjoy studying. I would also recommend visiting the Brickset Forum for community discussions on all LEGO topics!
Additionally, we wish to hear from Brickset readers. What can Brickset do for you during the coming weeks and what would you like to see on the homepage? We look forward to reading your comments.
On behalf of the entire Brickset team, I would send all LEGO fans our best wishes during this difficult period.

"Ask not what Brickset can do for you, but what you can do for Brickset." -- John F. Kennedy, I think
I think Brickset readers should contribute more to Lego news and reviews and actually get posted on the homepage.
Keep up the excellent work, that's all I can say! Thank you for providing such an amazing service!
You promised some time ago to make some tutorials how to make custom quieries - I have anxiously been waiting for them... ;-)
What’s missing for all the Star Wars movies, even ones that have been done before
More trivia, surveys and puzzles please
Send US some sets to review :) Seriously, though, a contest or two would be nice. Also, why not make a way for readers to submit articles?
Thanks very much for your concern, cap'n. You guys are already doing a great job. just keep us informed as usual, we'll have more time to read you and interact.
Btw, is a CMF series 20 review due soon? I'm curious.
Add a missing minifigure's feature to people's collections. For example, say I own a set but I am missing a minifigure in it, have there be section in the collection manager that gives me a list of minifigures I am missing from sets I own.
Maybe also add a feature to count the number of pick a brick cups people have purchased. This wouldn't track the number of bricks owned, but the number of cups purchases as more of a "who's purchased the most cups" stats. (more for fun than anything...)
Or maybe a way to record a list of Lego stores/parks/centers people have visited.

I will second both of those suggestions. Why do you guys get to have all the fun?
Is it possible you could do reviews for any custom MOCs you enjoy?

Ye, you guys should team up with Rebrickable to do MOC reviews.
I'd like to see some highlights of particularly good single-set alternative builds (with instructions), wherever they may be on the internet.
e.g. https://rebrickable.com/sets/alternates/
Or maybe Brickset's own Alternate-Build challenges based around current sets.
Not the easiest task, but I would like to know what fans like to see in their favourite theme.
Like what does a hardcore Star Wars fan think of this theme and has LEGO made great models or are some missing? A little critic to LEGO....
The same goes with train fanatics, Architecture, Friends, Creator and so on. The biggest question to do this, is who to ask to answer these questions.
In doing the Brickset collection analysis walk throughs, maybe do those as screen recordings, and host them on YouTube?
Just being here is enough for me. I'm bored off my ass at work because I am "essential staff" but we have barely anything to do. I check Brickset and the forum every 20 minutes or so during the day.
Nice idea, Cap'n! I'll have a think. I'm sure there are a number of things that we could do to lift the spirits in these strange and worrying times.
During this time a lot of us are at home, which is a good time for users to review sets and work on their "Lego City" layouts or collection display. It would be nice to have a daily "User Review" and/or "User Layout/Display picture" of the day spotlight as long with the "random set of the day".
Is there any way to make a query that searches Advanced Collection Manager Location so i can see a list of what sets are in a specific box or tote?
Greg
I like joefish’s idea above. Not just out of joe solidarity :P
I liked that featured user review you frontpaged last week. Maybe more of those? Doesn't have to be the latest sets. Could make for nice throwback features too.
I would like to see some basic moc guides like landscaping and building off set things like that to improve our building techniques
Nice, thank you everyone at Brickset for working so hard on reviews and different kind of articles! Maybe you could feature some great builders from the community? Lately I was just browsing on Flickr and Instagram, and I realized that there are many-many talented builders with a few followers, and they would deserve some attention! :)
Perhaps a showcase/reshowcase of app based set features. Hidden Side AR, NEXO Shields, that old Ultra Agents app.
Make a live feed/stream with one of you free building... Would be great to show my kids so I can get some work done.
Raise donations to charities.
Thanks for the great work, Brickset! You're always inspiring me to buy more LEGO to get through these tough times!
Very interesting email received just now from LEGO about them closing all their brand shops, APART from those in Beijing & Shanghai; apparently life there is going back to normal. Go China!
So have hope, fellow LEGO fans; the dark times will pass (but keep washing your hands...!)
More reviews
I'd love to see some guest writer articles on a variety of topics. Something different to the norm.
That was a lovely and thoughtful thing to post, Huw! Just keep up the stellar work you guys already do. Stay healthy!
Please allow more people to be able to change/add tags to sets and minifigures. Some of the official tags are missing some obvious ones while some eras are missing tags all together.
How about a "Featured Classic Set" with accompanying review if possible? I know reviews of the quality you produce are not quick, maybe just one a week? The features of the site have always been fantastic, but most days there's only a few minutes of content here for me. I think people just need content in the days of being stuck at home.
Even without a review, much like random set of the day, it'd give people something to chat about and tell stories about. Sort of like random set of the day only more curated.
I experience recently some performance issues with the Brickset website. It's no matter whether I use Safari, Firefox or Opera browser on my smartphone or Firefox or Edge on my desktop. The symptoms are always the same: when I enter LEGO set number in the search bar and I click one of the results, the page with the set details can load for 3-4 minutes. After that Brickset is working fine for 10 minutes. And again - when these 10 minutes will past - a single 3-4 minutes long performance glitch occurs.
Do an article on mistakes that made it into the market, like the Wall-E neck or smooth-hair Leia.
I would love to scroll freely through the rankings to see other members' insane collections. Here https://brickset.com/mycollection/sets/ranking I can only see me closer surroundings. Would love to see who ranks 1 and which collection he/she has.

You can indicate that minfigs are missing using the Collection feature: https://brickset.com/faq
However, the follow-up request - showing minifigs that accompany sets you have, but which are missing - isn't there yet. I wonder whether it'd be possible to make a query for that. My suspicion is it's a little too complex, sadly.
More reviews would be nice, Eurobricks used made lots of written ones but not so much anymore.... Also not just the 'big' (in terms of impact noy just size) sets as they are more likely to have more reviews anyway. More featured user reviews could help with this?
Would it be possible to expand the collection comparison options that are currently available for sets to the minifig database? I think it would be much appreciated for those of us like myself that primarily collect minifigs, not sets.
A star (or similar symbol) to indicate sets that have been SOTD, just like the golden star on Wikipedia ;)
Novel idea....announce the winner of the wickedbrickset display contest ;)
It's a nice and welcomed idea really. I had been wondering in the last few days if there were just fewer news, or if I was refreshing the page too often.
I wish Lego would announce a bunch of new sets for people to buy and build during isolation... Where are those second wave Overwatch? It's been more than a year since wave 1!
I would like to see more novelty articles. @Huw, a while back you did a couple articles about technic beams and pins that I found fascinating. I would really dig more of that type of stuff. I personally would love to see an article on the evolution of parts, such as the changes to the skeleton and ghost that have been done over the years, for example. There are plenty more to talk about as well. The Throwback Thursday articles seem to have dried up too; I'd welcome their return. Things like building landscaping and foliage are always good topics to have new techniques in.
While I enjoy the reviews I also really like the articles that are somewhat off the beaten path.
I'd enjoy if, for the Random Set Of The Day, you also did a review of said set, no matter what set it is! You could compare it to other contemporary sets and the parts catalogue of the time.
We should have a poll to talk about characters that are missing from LEGO and then you could select like the top 20 and we can all vote on who we want to see made in LEGO the most who hasn't yet gotten made. Like Daredevil or the Tenth Doctor.
All in all, this site is amazing and you guys do a phenomenal job.

It's a good thing I read the comments before commenting, as I was going to say pretty much the same thing. When I saw today's Fabuland RSOTD it left me craving an in-depth review of classic stuff like that. I know there are thousands of user submitted reviews, but they're typically very short and lack pics. Even one Throwback Review per week would be greatly appreciated! I also agree about posting more articles focused on various building techniques.
Mainly I want to say thanks for being here for us Captain, Huw, and the whole Brickset team. You make my work day so much more tolerable :) Especially now that my office is closed but I'm still here, manning the phone and email, which means mostly twiddling my thumbs lol. Stay healthy and safe everyone!
With the close of pick-a-brick, I would love to hear from some of the larger BrickLink seller on how they are dealing with the restrictions, if they worry about closing their business or if business is maybe even up.
I have a few second hand sets on a local Ebay-type site and I've been having a lot more buyers (mostly parents that need a new toy for their kids) in the past few days.
I would like to ask them myself, but I'm not a journalist ;) Maybe interview some of them?
Why not feature a Brickset member of the day? It could be by volunteer and users can say their favorite set, the set they want the most, set they loved to build the most, if they had any dark ages and what drew them out, etc. We could learn more about the Brickset community.
I would like more throwback Thursday. That was a lot of fun to read.
^^That is a wonderful idea! Huw could make a questionnaire for people to fill out online and submit, and pull one out each day!
I greatly enjoyed Huw’s articles on obscure Technic pins and parts as well. Therefore anything in that realm would be a good read. Reviews of classic sets would be a nice touch too.
Otherwise I wouldn’t change much else. Why mess with a winning formula?
I would avoid video content. Editing would surely suck up a heap of time that could be spent in writing and photography. There are other places for that anyway.
Finally, could we try to keep this a virus free website? It may seem a little immature and ostrich-like, but we all know what’s going on and it would be great to have a place where it isn’t mentioned every 30 seconds. We all need a little escapism sometimes.
A missing minifigures feature would be nice.
I'd love to see more retrospective reviews! I imagine the Brickset team will be finding themselves digging through the closet anyways over the next while.
Is it possible to add a feature so that I can say if a set that I own is sealed, built, or loose? For example, I have 5 sets of 70841. I'd like to say that I have 2 of them built, 1 loose, and 2 of them sealed. I can think of 3 states easily.
Sealed - brand new in the box sitting somewhere
Built - Built and on display
Loose/unbuilt - A set that I own, but it is currently broken down for some reason
Are there any other states that could exist? Maybe 'Parted out'.
Build challenges/contests that could help people feel a sense of community.
I would like to see Reviews of older sets and maybe some comparisons between older and newer sets if possible.
1. More Reviews. They're always a pleasure to read.
2. More User-Submitted Reviews Highlighted on the Home Page. I stopped doing reviews years ago because they never were read or noticed. Incentivize user reviews in some way.
3. Don't Get Corona. In other words, don't put yourselves at risk for the site. Not worth it in any form or fashion.
Any chance at some interviews with some designers? :) There’s never enough of those and they’re always a treat!
A 10 part series of articles telling the history of Click its..
Can you ask Lego to leak their summer set images? I would be more than happy to take a look at what they have coming in the future. Right now would be a great time for them to leak whatever they are working on.
Thanks for the note.
I think you guys are keeping it up well, however I would like to see the What’s Missing? articles updated or completed (we haven’t got anything for The Last Jedi, Solo, Resistance or Rise of Skywalker).
After that, maybe some similar articles on the MCU or Harry Potter?
I also agree with @imemine98 ,a Brickset member of the day/week would be a nice way to find out more about our community.
Thanks for everything you folks do here. It's a fantastic site.
I'd love the ability to add a set to my collection but exclude the minifigures; kind of the reverse of adding 'loose' figures to a collection. Many times, I buy a seconhand collection and find that I'm missing a figure of two of some large sets but have all the other parts and a way to add those to my collection without also adding figures I don't have would be extremely valuable to me.
I agree with other users, seeing more user reviews and things like that would be nice.
One thing I’ve been waiting for from this site for ages is an overhaul of the organising system when in tournament collection or browsing the database. As it stands you can only change one tag before the search starts automatically, it makes the process very long. To be able to add all the tags first and then start the search manually would be a dream come true.
Just keep on what your doing and stay safe while doing it. :)
How about an in depth, deep dive into anything and everything that can be found on Classic Space or Pirates. From historical origins, to designer comments, anything and everything that is possible to publish.

This is already possible using the Advanced Collection Manager feature, goto 'My Sets' and select 'Advanced Collection Manager', then activate ACM.
How about interviewing each other (within brickset.com) and delve into your first sets, and if you have had any dark ages, what brought you back out?
Go over your favorite themes, your least favorite themes, and pick out themes that you'd be more interested in if/when your favorite themes went to the wayside.
What are your favorite sets that are outside of your favorite themes?
What would your dream theme be, that isn't already available?
What themes would you like to have mashups of?
That kind of thing. :)
This is exactly what I asked you for - so THANK YOU!
Some of the above suggestions are too in-depth, niche, and time consuming for you.
What I want and was suggesting is simply more content on a daily basis and the rolling news to be updated more regularly.
So, maybe highlight some of the better reviews done by others, if you cannot review more yourselves.
Create items that can be a sort of forum/discussion on the news feed that is not part of the actual "Forum" as the comments on here are often what makes me come back regularly (especially on Random Set of the Day). I know the Forum is separate and it should stay that way.
Maybe even extend the "Random" Sets to those you guys want to highlight. It doesn't need to be in depth, it just needs to be a few lines, a few pictures and we will do the rest.
Please just make the Homepage update much more often. THANKS!
I'm sure any distractions would be appreciated:
- Reviews
- Contests
- Trivia
- Puzzles
- Competitions
- Tutorials
I'd like to suggest reviews of waves of sets (with each one by a different reviewer).
Thanks for all that you already do! Please stay safe & healthy!!!
Let's finally have an authoritative all-time ranking of Lego sets.
For instance, every Brickset member can select 10 or 20 favorite Lego sets. (I would go with "favorite" rather than "greatest" or "best" because we're not all experts or familiar with every era.) All responses with be compiled into a ranking, with sets ordered according to the number of users who voted for them as their favorites, kind of like the Sight & Sound film poll.
I think this is a much better method than ranking Lego sets based on reviews, for example, since one harsh review can torpedo the average score of an obviously outstanding set. Likewise, there are too many mediocre sets that have perfect scores. If the ranking is compiled based on the number of times sets are selected by users, that would also make it sufficiently troll-proof.
Then once we have the overall ranking, anyone could filter it by theme, part count, year range, and whether licensed or non-licensed. For instance, I'd like to see the ranking of all Space sets between 1978 and 1996, and I would enjoying seeing how my opinions align with those of the rest of the Lego community.
Maybe we could reset the ranking every couple of years so Brickset users would vote again in order to make sure new sets are included if they are worthy. This would keep the ranking fluid over time, since many users otherwise may not remember to update their lists after submitting it only once.
I'm surprised I can't already find something like this on the internet - all are by individuals or not particularly comprehensive. There may be a hidden demand especially now, as I imagine many Lego fans would be excited to participate in a global project open to everyone while we're all sequestered at home for the foreseeable future.
I'd love to see some more economic/historical/geopolitical/Cultural analyses of Lego City!

Awesome. Didn't know. Thanks!
Being predominantly a Technic fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the series about Technic pins, axles and panels. Some other articles like that would be nice. It does not have to be Technic - you can, for example, do the history of slopes and curved slopes which expanded a lot in recent years. There is also the story of windows and doors - there are plenty to choose from.
I also like the ideas of contests (no prize needed - just bragging right is plenty). What I would suggest is:
1) Redo this set: let's say you take a set from the 70s (let's say 351 gravel depot) and you have to redo it with the parts available today - and also as a set that Lego would sell (i.e. not 5000 pieces for a small city set). You could also do that with any ideas in the Lego Idea Book - let's redo them with modern parts and building techniques.
2) For Technic, add functions to this set. Some sets have neat functions but could have more or being implemented better. (Yes, I'm looking at you 42108)
3) Also for Technic: redo a studded set in studless format. All functions and general look must be preserved additional functions are welcome!
4) Build a scenery. You pick a scenery picture on the internet (anywhere will do) and you try to recreate it in Lego form - any scale is valid from clever minimalist vignette to the incredible diorama - might want to create categories.
5) Improve this set. I once took set 60017 and made the platform slide back before tipping. Take a set and ask how could this set be improved - with a limit on additional parts.
6) Create a polybag. You select a theme (anything: beach, train, space, history) and then you must create a set with no more than 35 pieces.
Best to you all and let's keep our sanity while we are "stranded" inside!
I would like to see some work on database - as minifigures series showing as sets - so its making a lot of difference with how many sets you have. And I really dont like it. At least give us some option which you can count it as minifigs instead of sets. I doubt that someone counting minifigure series pack as set.
More review articles, but, comparisons of sets between years (number, number of pieces, themes, etc.) would be great for reading during these dramatic days!!!
Additional possible reports:
- How many male and female figures were available in each CMF series?
- How many short legs minifigures are there in each CMF series?
- How are related minifigures in CMF series between them?
...
How about reviews on Minecraft sets?
Lots more articles, contests, puzzles, etc. Anything that takes my mind off all the other articles being thrown our way that are telling us the world is ending... SOS... Save Our Sanity...
Can I second @MrJackson ‘s suggestion of niche/off-the-beaten-path articles, e.g. minifigure customisation or neo-Classic Space MOCs?
Would also like to endorse @imemine98 ‘s brilliant suggestion of interviews of fans, i.e. Fan of the Day (FotD) with questions of how they got (back) into LEGO, favourite theme and why, favourite set and why, pictures of collections and/or MOCs etc
What's missing from themes other than Star Wars? Even things like Indiana Jones, Scooby Doo, etc. that are defunct now...
How about another contest like when you had people design a HuwBot. Give people an idea and they can build it, submit pictures and have it be judged! Prizes optional.
I'd like to know why the MSRP prices are gone for 2019-2020 sets on the Amazon price guide page and if you plan to bring them back. Thank you.
Would love to see an article about any celebrity that collects LEGO. Like a certain famous football player married to a Spice Girl...
I'd really like to see some interesting data analysis. For example, what sets do the most people want but the fewest people have? (That would seem like the most in-demand rare set...like some Lego employee exclusive or something.)
Conversely, what set do the most people have but the fewest people want? (That would likely be something really disappointing that people got for some reason but it had no appeal. No idea what kind of set this could be.)
Let's see those ratios!
How about having a feature Lego Designer of the week or month?
Short bio on them, whether pro or amateur showing their work and perhaps a 'Pro-Tip' from them on some build technique.
Let certain veteran users add tags into set pages, like how it works for parts inventory. I noticed so many missing or invalid tags on several pages.
Maybe some Australian prices on more sets. Particularly the more recent ones.
If we're requesting features here (sorry in advance if we arent) would it be possible to have one overarching category or even a tag for all minifig/minidoll/animal/etc parts? I often need to browse through all parts available in a given colour and its pretty frustrating having to manually exclude roughly 30 different tags to get rid of all the character parts, every time. Especially since there seems to be some sort of limit on how many tags can be excluded and I find I often reach that limit.
Also, I dont know if this is a widesporead issue or just Brave browser being weird but the default sorting on my collection periodically resets itself to "set number". It takes like 5 seconds to fix but its still kinda annoying that I have to so frequently when it used to just stay on whatever I'd set it to (year released, specifically)
I would like physical stores to be referenced in almost the same way as sets, i.e. with the possibility to click on 'Visited' / 'I would like to visit', as well as a Google Map with dots that would show where we've been.
I personally think we all need something to look forward to. Maybe a feature on what’s coming for the second half of 2020? And even rumours of what the 2020 UCS sets could be. Like I said I think most want something to look forward to
Some pro-Bionicle content would be nice.
More 'Throwback Thursday' articles would be great: themes, sub-themes, sets, and maybe even retired pieces.
I'd also love to see more trivia articles!
Keep up the great work, everyone!
While I'd *like* to say 'free set giveaways', I know that would be neither plausible nor affordable for you guys xD But in seriousness, I'm just gonna be happy with anything; I'm sure whatever you all come up with, it'll be an entertaining read :D
I might second the request for more options related to the minifigure collection manager, though, if possible. It would be really neat to have customisable flags for them, like there are for the sets (and a random minifigure browser, like we have for random sets, would definitely be cool, too)! ^^
@Emhajo - That's already possible! You can use the collection checkbox preferences ( https://brickset.com/profile/flagpreferences ) to set the blue flag to 'missing minifigures'; then if you check that as well as the 'owned' box, it adds the set to your collection while excluding the minifigures! ^^
@sanders2221 - You might already know, but there are separate entries in the minifigure catalogue for the CMF characters: https://brickset.com/minifigs/category-Collectible-Minifigures If you don't want to have them counted as sets, you could tick them as owned loose from that list instead; then they'd show up in your minifigure collection, but not in your set collection ^^
Reading this article and some of the comments gave me a lump in the throat.
I don't get emotional easily, but during these times everything is different. Even visiting Brickset or building sets has a different feel to it at the moment.
All I can say is how much I appreciate everything Brickset has to offer. It is such a source of inspiration and enjoyment, especially now. Keep up the great work and thank you so much.
I would appreciate a reduction of pop-up ads, or a re-arrangement of where they appear. When I scroll through the web page, I sometimes see only 10 lines of text, while the rest of the page is covered with ads. And when I click an ad away, another one pops up a second later. I don't know how others feel, but the attractiveness of the site is greatly reduced compared to before.
For a long time, I've dreamed of owning a million dollars. No? Eh, it was worth a try...
Nothing. Everything is fine.
@Hornik: as soon as you log into your account, the ads disappear. :-)
Honestly, the question should be "what CAN you do?". Doubt there is anything you can actively DO to have a significant effect on the situation.
If there is one thing, MOC contests. Particularly for themes that qualify as "fan art" under international law, but may not ones TLG has themes for. Since TLG took over Bricklink, they have threatened to (and may have, since I left) start taking down MOC directions and parts lists for anything someone might have an IP claim on. Maybe something like "best non-SW space fighter" or "best tank (yes, SPAs, CEVs, APCs and IFVs to)". Or "best kaiju under 200 parts and 35cm tall" or "best mecha under 12cm tall" (I'd get into those). And the top 12 have their instructions archived, even if the maker needs some help making those.
But here's the catch. Some of us avoid Facebook and it's various minions like the plague they are. So keep it local. Don't rely on Instagram or Failbook for it, set it up so that Brickset is hosting it. Even if we have to email in our pictures and then someone sorts through it and puts them on a web page. Give someone something to do.
Or tutorials for some of the more advanced techniques, or maybe build videos for smaller and older sets.
YouTube content would be fun.
@BionicleJedi:
Maybe what's needed is a tutorial on how to organize your Brickset collection, since it sounds like many people don't know many of the possible tricks.
@Hornik:
I never have a problem on my laptop, because I just flagged my account to keep me logged in at all times. Through reboot after reboot, I remain logged in, so the ads don't appear. On my iPod Touch, on the other hand, I lose most of the screen to ads because cookies last about as long as they would at a kid's birthday party. It's such a pain to actually stay logged in on my iPod that I only do it when I absolutely need to. That part has nothing to do with the Brickset design, as I get the same issue with other sites. The ads, I think, were optimized for either tablets or phablets, and anything on the smaller end of the spectrum ends up losing almost the entire screen to two ads. The boxy one on the right is pretty easy to dispose of, but the banner across the bottom can be more of a pain. Like a bad breakup, it often just takes up the same amount of space as it demands to know why you don't want to see it anymore.
@VerMonster:
I've been seeing all these ads about how there's a Facebook Group for everyone. I want to know if there's a Facebook Group for people who want nothing to do with Facebook, which does not require you to sign up for a Facebook account, or load a Facebook page, and which allows you to communicate with each other in a way that does not involve Facebook.
I think it would be an excellent add-on to Brickset the actual value of our collections, sets that will or not go up in value, some kind of analysis on this field... I think I can speak for a lot of us, that we all have this or that set BNIB as an investment....
Lego.shop website must be down. As of 3:38 pm est. Cannot log in. Pages not loading or “ page not found “ error. Anyone else experiencing these issues?
Would love to see reviews of MOCs that people have built (from sources such as Rebrickable, Sariel, JK Brickworks, Beyond the brick, etc).
I have slowly moved away from buying official sets to searching out interesting models that I can build using all the parts I already own.
You have a lot of OLD content that would be suitable to appear randomly. Some articles/reviews could show up at anytime and still be relevant. Revisit older if they could be updated.
@BionicleJedi yeah I know - works for harry potter series but does not work for example for DC series : 71020-11: Soccer Mom Batgirl , 891952-1: Blizzard Samurai and many many more
Thanks for your great work!
I would like to be able to search through ACM and have some statistics about it. I have a lot of MISB sets marked on ACM and can't know which one without reviewing the whole collection....
Late to this party but I second @evvdu95's comment about the ACM - at the moment it seems to only be a data entry feature, but no way to see the data that's within it? Would love to explore my collection more, and enter details in an aggregated form rather than on each set's page.
Add minifigures sooner
Some ideas already mentioned that I would like to see as well:
Random Older Articles circulated in the feed
Focused articles on classes of parts (like the slope families, angled plates...)
Contests with prizes!
MOC highlights, could be more in-depth photos/thoughts from the conventions that Brickset staff have attended
Just to add my own request, I am a minifig junkie and can't resist content that goes for a deep dive on the figures. Some themes (like LOTR and Harry Potter, to name a few) are rich with detailed and exclusive figs that I wouldn't mind having mini-articles devoted to.
Thanks to all working to make Brickset an amazing resource for the LEGO community, you are appreciated!
I know I'm a bit late with this, apologies for that.
You have an awesome site, I really appreciate the reviews and it's a daily visit website for me!
What would make it even more awesome for me would be to add a hover on links to Lego sets like they have at Wikipedia. There, every link to an article opens a small card to that article with an image and short description.
For example, todays featured set of the day (Featured set of the day: Hook and Ladder) contains references to other sets: "Ultimately, I’m a City person, having grown up in the 90s with wonderful, and in many cases, timeless, Town sets: 6597 Century Skyway, 1682 Space Shuttle Launch, 6344 Jet Speed Justice (phenomenal name), 6350 Pizza To Go, and 6561 Hot Rod Club, to name just a few."
I'm not familiar with those sets and I now have to open a new tab in my browser to see what sets those are, breaking the story I'm reading. It would be great to just see the default image of a set when hovering the link to get a feeling for the set.
Thank you for the great stories and hard work!
