Doodle a key worker minifigure competition
Posted by Huw,Minifigs.me, purveyor of fine custom printed minifigures, is running a series of competitions over the next few weeks:
With key workers going out and taking risks on a daily basis in order to keep vital services running and with the rest of us in lock-down, minifigs.me wanted to think of a fun activity that people could partake in which would cheer up key workers and show our appreciation of everything they are doing.
We are therefore holding a series of competitions, where people of all ages will be invited to doodle their own minifigures. Each week, we will ask people to draw a cute minifigure version of someone from a particular group of key workers. This week’s theme will be health care workers, and later themes will be emergency services, teachers, delivery drivers and postal workers, carers and support staff, and supermarket staff and others working in the food industry.
The aim is to get loads of people sharing their lovely drawings, to bring some smiles to everyone's faces and to show appreciation for the hard work that key workers are currently undertaking.
Of course, a competition wouldn’t be complete without a prize! So each week, we'll pick winners from several age groups to receive two real copies of their minifigure - one to keep and one to give away to someone who really needs our appreciation. The minifigure designs will be professionally printed onto genuine LEGO minifigure parts.
Additionally, we are adding a new product to our website at minifigs.me/keyworker-fig. If entrants haven’t won, but still want their minifigure to be made, those entrants can buy one copy of their key worker design and minifigs.me will send them a second copy for free. That way, entrants can keep one minifigure, and give the other away to someone deserving.
Want to enter? Check out the competition at https://www.facebook.com/CustomMinifigs/ and see some inspirational examples after the break.

In what week do we doodle the essential liquor store owners?
Good acknowledgement of the too often unsung and unappreciated labor that are the ACTUAL drivers of society and the economy.
What a fun unique challenge!

Last week our Chief Health Officer gave 24 hour notice of a closure of gov't liquor stores. The evening news that night showed long lines of people not practicing physical distancing waiting to get into the liquor stores. We have some, but not a lot of, private enterprises that are allowed to sell liquor in my province, so we were not being completely cut off, but those enterprises have a very limited selection. The next day the Chief Health Officer expressed disappointment and apologized for not fully clarifying the situation. She also pointed out that she understood the panic, because from her experience in our province every family, including her own, has been touched by addiction issues. The LC's opened up a few days later with more or less curb side service. She's a bit of a rock actually as she moved quite quickly to try to lock down our island. But yeah, we all learned that the Liquor Commission employees are essential workers!
Sounds fun

gov't liquor stores... Liquor Commission
That sounds so Orwellian. Do they sell Victory Gin?
Is this going to be like your last competition with Wicked Bricks where you never announce the winners? I don't want to waste my time again.

We announced them last week. We won't be announcing these because we are not running them.
The river and the man have become one.

Truckers, farmers, , pier workers, janitors, medics, store vendors are now more important a lot of colleges degrees (baring medicine, educational and engineering).

That has to be Prince Edward Island. In other provinces, many are asking why is this still considered an essential service. When you can no longer get out at all to socialise; a glass of wine might very well be healthy and relieve tensions of living in close proximity with family members for a prolonged period of time...

You’re absolutely right. If people think they’ve seen shortages at their stores, wait until a significant number of truck drivers get sick.
Fantastic initiatives for the little ones of the house! In Minifigures Display you can also print to make your designs.
