Competition reminder: Build a Polybag!
Posted by Huw,
Our competition to build a small model like those found in polybags is in full-swing, and we've had some terrific entries, including this Mandalorian-inspired one that would sell like hot-cakes if it was a real set!
Take a look at the entries on Flickr and Instagram and if you've not yet entered, find out how to do so after the break.
Note: If you mock-up a polybag, please do not include the LEGO logo to avoid any confusion or other consequences. Entries submitted thus far with one won't be disqualified but please refrain from adding them from now on. Thank you.
Rules:
- Polybags can be inspired by any past or current theme or anything else.
- Polybags may include one minifigure, in which case the part limit is around 30 pieces, excluding minifig parts.
- Alternatively, polybags without a minifigure may contain approximately 50 pieces, following the example of official sets.
- Only elements which would fit inside a standard polybag, measuring 17.5cm / 7" wide and 12cm / 5" in height, may be included.
- Your models should be new and unseen prior to this competition. Significantly updated models are permitted.
- You may submit multiple entries.
- Virtual creations in LDD, stud.io and other CAD program are permitted.
- If you mock-up a polybag, please do not include the LEGO logo to avoid any confusion or other consequences.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
- Creativity and design.
- Building techniques and parts usage.
- Adherence to the rules.
How to enter:
You can submit your entries in three ways:
- Upload a maximum of two images of your entry to the Brickset Flickr group set up for this competition
- Post your entry on Instagram using the tag #BricksetPolybagCompetition.
- Plus, so that even the social-media averse can enter this time, you can also email an image of your creation to [email protected].
Prizes:
- We are hoping to secure two of the upcoming May the Fourth gift with purchase set to use for first prizes, which will be awarded to the best polybag with a minifigure and to the best polybag without a minifigure.
- Additional gift with purchase sets and polybags might also be awarded to runners-up.
Other information:
- Please do not include any references to sex, drugs, alcohol etc. in your entry.
- Custom and non-LEGO components are not permitted.
- Although we will not be judging your photographic skills, please try to light your models evenly and photograph them against a clean background.
- Please upload your entries by 23:59 BST on Sunday 31st May 2020.
- The winners will be announced shortly after.
- The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Please ask any questions you might have in the comments, and we shall answer.
Good luck!

Man, that D-O is better than the UCS model. TIE Crawlers are cool, too. The 2 in 1 raft looked really good. Brickset, I don't know how you're going to choose!
Haha! I just took a look at Brickset's flickr page and LMAO when I saw 'milktime' by Dentyyyyy. That is totally tits! At first, I was like: 'what the hell is that supposed to be?', but once I recognized it, I could not stop laughing.
@TheBigLegoski I guess you have not see The Last Jedi?
We have more than a month!
Is there a gallery for entries submitted by email?

Thank you. It's very important that this crucial scene does not go unrepresented in LEGO form. Please share with your loved ones, colleagues and spiritual leaders.
This being said, I fear your use of the term "totally tits" as an expression of approval will be misconstrued as a description of the set itself. Until Wookieepedia is updated to say otherwise, I would like to make clear that these are in fact udders.
Thank you for your support, all the best.

OK, have it your way: utterly udders!
It's the mini ISS for me!
Is it ok if we just have a blank red block on our entries in place of the Lego logo, or should we avoid anything that resembles it whatsoever? Also, should we avoid putting other logos on it besides the lego logo, such as the stranger things or lego legacy logos?
The Galidor TDN module... just because I actually HAD the bigger set way back when and watched the show when it was on. In fact,I vividly remember waiting for any sign that season two would be released... still waiting for that! (Okay, you can go ahead and run me outta town with your pitchforks and torches now!)
I would buy that baby yoda one in a heartbeat.
Cool contest and thanks for the reminder. I missed the earlier posts. I just uploaded my entry. An Architecture themed polybag of the Rijksmuseum. Home of famous paintings like The Night Watch by Rembrandt and The Milkmaid by Vermeer. It's only the front of the museum (similar to the actual Louvre set 21024-1).
