The year 2005 not only brought about an exciting end to the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, but the start of a saga in my life that has yet to conclude. At 6 years old, I received my very first Lego Star Wars set, 7250 Clone Scout Walker, and I still have the memory of opening and building it.

Although I do not recall any specific occasion, my brother and I each received one from our mother.

After having purchased them from the store, the three of us went to a favourite restaurant of ours and while eating we built to our heart’s content. One big reason I can remember this event is the fact that after we finished our meal, we used the restrooms and then walked to the car, leaving our LEGO at the table. Our forgetfulness is uncanny, and I am not sure what caused it, but shortly after we drove away it finally dawned on us that we had left our walkers at the restaurant.

Once we returned to pick them up, they were no longer on the table. There was probably some fear as to what happened to them, but upon asking a worker at the register, we were presented with our not-so-long lost sets. Surprise, relief, and thankfulness filled us, and we went on our way happy.

The Clone Scout Walker brings back many good memories to me. Even though my walker is currently dismantled due to unfortunate circumstances, the Recon Clone Trooper still fights with his brothers for the Grand Army of the Republic.

The Star Wars theme is undoubtedly my favourite Lego theme and since that first set, my collection has vastly grown. I hope this will continue, and I am most excited for the upcoming 501st Legion Clone Troopers set.

Very nice indeed. I’m pretty sure almost anyone on Brickset will be able to recount an event such as this unfortunate memory loss. I, for one, have at least 4 occasions when I left behind things far more valuable In public places...

This walker is bigger than the on movie version but ut holds a special place with me.

The AT-RT seems like an unconventional vehicle. If it existed in real life, how could you get off of it? However, this set is amazing.

I think this is still my favourite version of the Scout Walker. All the others are just...too massive

Thanks Huw for publishing my article. It is a real honor to have it on Brickset!

Your clones are very impressive. You must be very proud.

By in Australia,

Great set! I never got this, but I do have the 2013 with Yoda. The 501st Trooper was probably the only major high and I think it’s in pieces now.

One of my all time favorite small sets as a kid. I even still have it built next to the 20th anniversary version!

I like the walkers and the speeders better than space ships. They are easier to MOC or MOD with less pieces.

What a great set. Unfortunately I lost mine in the great car boot sale disaster of 2006.

Great set. Brought me out of my dark ages. This was in the days when LEGO still put pictures of alternate builds on the back of the box, and I actually kept this as one of those alt builds. It was some kind of rugged-looking light aircraft. To me, it looked like the perfect craft for scouting newly colonized planets for building sites and resources, and I actually liked it better than the main model.

By in France,

I learnt not to bring lego outside. I remember losing my 2 light sabers. A bit more annoying in 1999 than now, I got replacements a few years ago on bricklink.
