We'll know at least one of the sets will coincidentally be released under the creator Expert brand as an original idea
I am rooting for the aquarium and maybe Bionicle.
By the way, Huw, is there any particular reason that it has been taking so long to get the results for the polybag contest? I believe that there is likely a good reason for the delay, but could you explain please? Thanks.
I honestly don't think any of them will pass, but my preference would have to be Winter Chalet. I could put my money on Zelda - I know nothing about Legend of Zelda but I'm aware of its popularity and it appears to be a good playset.
The only good play set I see is Zelda, let's hope its get made.
Personally I like the aquarium.
For fan interest I think the Zelda or Bionicle sets would be great however I was never really into either although the Zelda set looks kind of cool.
I want "Seinfeld" and "Home Alone", although the former is less likely as the show doesn't seem to be well-known outside America… Kevin's house is so full of details — it would look brilliant in a city layout! I don't care much for the other projects, except the Winter Chalet.
The recent trend has been to be to pass something and then completely redesign it and in the case of the Barracuda Bay set to reimagine it as well. (not that I'm complaining - the Ideas theme is one of my favourites).
So in predicting the outcomes of the Review you also need to consider what TLG thinks they could transform it into as well as what the original designer did.
I really hope the Bionicle project makes it! If it does, it's going to be the first LEGO Ideas set I will ever buy.
FINALLY. I know there was COVID-related delays (probably), but the wait was still killing me...
My main hope is that Zelda gets through - though I would certainly prefer the castle in the next round!
Other hopes include the Planet Express ship, the typewriter, and the auqarium.
Aquarium would be a day-one purchase for me. Not that fussed about anything else on this list.
I think the only sensible, appealing choices to choose from are Seinfeld, Zelda, Futurama and Ratatouille. I hope Seinfeld, Futurama or Ratatouille make it. This round is a nice selection of sets.
Nothing here excites my interest. We certainly don't need any more room dioramas.
Queen: I don't think this will become a set
Seinfeld: I would have said no, but Friends was released so I dunno.
Zelda: I mean they do work with Nintendo already, but I guess it would be released outside of Ideas
Futurama: I like it I hope this will become a set
Ratatouille: Licensed Disney? I doubt it.
Typewriter: Niche appeal. i don't think this is a contender
Bionicle: I'm no bionicle fan. it's a pass
Huascar: Is this a warship? No release
Winter Chalet: More suitable to Holiday/Christmas Village sets
SubWay: Important infra structure. No real appeal to me.
Home Alone: I say.... maybe... ish
Aquarium: looks neat and is interesting hot contender to make it
Bionicle all the way. Although, LEGO may not be too keen to return to the theme, even though it was (and still is) one of its most popular franchises and saved the company from bankruptcy in the late 1990s.
A Zelda-based set would be welcome, and given LEGO’s partnership with Nintendo, it just might make it through.
Seinfeld would be nice, and while it would be cool to see a set based on something Canadian, the TTC train might be too niche for the average consumer.
Ratatouille and Home Alone
Planet Express, fingers crossed.
Not expecting any of these to make it but I'll root for the bonkle project as an underdog wildcard.
I think because they are doing the piano from a previous round, that the typewriter has a shot. They'll probably test out a line of "functional" object models for adults. I think Seinfeld is also likely because it fits in in with the BBT/Friends room playsets they've done.
BIONICLE better win, y'all.
Fingers crossed for Seinfeld!
I root mainly for Zelda, because I just started Breath of the Wild yesterday.
And you SHOULD play it (on your Wii U or Switch), it's a masterpiece, one of the best games of all time! Even better than Lego Star Wars!
oh, I also like the Aquarium and the Typewriter
please Breath of the Wild set
please Breath of the Wild set
please Breath of the Wild set
please Breath of the Wild set
please Breath of the Wild set
please Breath of the Wild set
please Breath of the Wild set
please Breath of the Wild set
please Breath of the Wild set
I can't recommend enough playing BOTW. It's a thing EVERYONE should do
Lol cause a fall release of the Home Alone house wouldnt be an amazing seller for the christmas season. Thats what my daughter and I want. A lego of our favorite Christmas movie about sociopath kids and incompetant immortals!
LEGO Queen is what I need in my life.
My "guess"..... Ratatouille and Zelda - the former as it's Disney so an easy licence and wide family appeal, the latter so they can test as a new theme as well as already working with Nintendo.. eg. low risk trial on a new theme of Zelda, just like minecraft theme came out of Ideas first.
plus aquarium but as a potential GWP rather than full set.
-Queen: I feel this is probably too niche
-Seinfield: I'm not sure. I've not heard of it but believe it's popular elsewhere. But they've already done similar Big Bang Theory and Friends sets... then again that didn't stop them doing more space themed Ideas sets! I'd say probably not.
-BotW stables: Has a reasonable chance, if Lego weren't planning on doing it themselves. I would love this (and would also love Hyrule Castle lol - which I could see being more iconic, meaning they do Hyrule Castle and don't do this? On the other hand this is probably suitable for a medium-sized Ideas set.
-Planet Express Delivery Ship: They've refused Futurama stuff before and tbh I feel they'd do it again.
-Ratatouille: I really love this! My only doubts about it - do people absolutely love Ratatouille? Maybe they do but it's never been that impactful of a film for me. I think this has a reasonable chance.
-Typewriter: well they're doing the piano which is similar but I'm not sure this will appeal to enough people personally. It'll be an "oh, that's cool" but then they won't buy it I feel.
-Bionicle: this is awesome! A throwback to a classic theme. And this would sell loads for nostalgia alone. I could see Lego reworking it quite a lot (like Barracuda Bay) but think this has got a good chance.
-Hunscar: probably too niche imo.
-Winter Chalet: I'm conflicted. At first, I'm like "no, they wouldn't use their Winter Village slot on an Ideas set", just like imo it's pointless submitting modulars as they're never gonna get approved. But equally, I think they could release both this and a Winter Village set and they wouldn't compete - Winter Village sets are relatively cheap (compared to what this will be), so the people buying this would probably buy the Lego-designed set regardless, and the people for which this is too expensive also wouldn't have bought this. Equally, they could downsize this significantly to make it Winter Village-priced (and scaled...). While I'd love this to be made, I still don't think it's likely.
-Subway train: not familiar with it but I don't see it happening personally.
-Home Alone: this would be cool! But I think to do it justice inside it'd have to be too big for an Ideas set. It would look nice both outside and inside though. My other issue - it would have 3 minifigs (Kevin and the two crooks) but far more than 3 "traps" to put them in. I don't know about this.
-Aquarium: I actually really like this. It's a bit different, it's fairly small, and it has a cool feature. I'm not sure how much it'd appeal to the general public but I think it's got a reasonable chance.
My predictions (I'll pick 3 although I guess it'll probably be 2): BotW stables, Ratatouille and Bionicle.
I'd say Clockwork Aquarium is probably a safe bet.
I really like the Zelda Breath of the Wild stable. The game is amazing, for those who haven't played it, and I bought a Nintendo Switch for the sole intention to play it. It is addictive, though, and virtually never-ending. I clocked 130 hours but could've spent more if I wanted to complete the game in every way possible.
However, I have a feeling that LEGO's Nintendo licence will eventually end up with Zelda and so I think that they will reject this in order to make their own. Not sure how they could do that though. Hands down, I would definitely buy any and all Zelda sets LEGO produces.
Since LEGO will most likely make Zelda sets with the Nintendo licence, I think that the set with the biggest chance of making it through would be the Winter Chalet.
I don't know what chance Bionicle has as it is a LEGO owned IP, but I hope they give it a chance. It made 10,000 very fast if I remember correctly.
Place your bets Folks!
Although really my biggest holes are for Zelda and Bionicle. The former because I think there is a lot of possibilities for great sets and mini figures due to it’s long history, and the latter because I think it would be a nice treat and throw a bone to both Bionicle fans and even LEGO fans in general. It would be a shame not to do something to celebrate the theme. It’s still important and an impressive accomplishment, even setting the poorly-managed reboot aside.
As for the rest, Ratatouille could go either way. We’ve had Disney ideas before so I don’t see them ruling it out. Futurama I’m mixed on. I wish LEGO would stay away from properties that are a bit.... too adult. The Simpsons was kinda toeing the line, Big Bang Theory and such are kinda a bit too heavy leaning on jokes about sex for my liking. I haven’t seen Futurama yet though so I’m going to hope they know what they’re doing.
As for the typewriter, it’s a good build! But it’s kinda one of those things that’s more “hey that’s neat” rather than something I’d put on display or purchase. As for Seinfeld, it honestly kinda looks a bit boring in my opinion. It’s not as visually interesting as Big Bang Theory or Friends, but that’s just due to the nature of the source material rather than a flaw in the build itself.
What happened to the 27 or something like that projects?
I'd buy the Planet Express ship and the Home Alone house.
I would go for the ship ,the typewriter, or the aquarium if I had to choose. But probably not going to get any of these when they come out.
The entry I want to break free brings to mind what is currently happening world wide but I want the legendary Bionicle project as it's an iconic brand, the Clockwork Aquarium is also a very neat one, but my guess goes to the Bionicle project.

What do mean? I thought that a playable piano was being made?

I believe you are referring to the next review stage. There are several each year.
The Planet Express Ship and Aquarium would be day one purchases for me.
Realistically I can't see any that would pass, especially given the high quality of some recent releases.
If I really had to choose one, it would be either the typewriter or the aquarium, purely because they're original and have some interesting functionality.
I'm thinking it will be the Winter Chalet and the Aquarium. Would love it if the Bionicle set passed review, but I'm not sure Lego would really want to bring the theme back, even for a one-off special.
I think really only the aquarium has a good shot.
Although I didn't think Friends or Big Bang Theory had a shot . . . so maybe Seinfeld?
And can someone help me out, I thought submissions based on current IPs was not allowed.
So how did Ratatouille make it in as Disney is a long standing IP?
I'm guessing with Zelda it was before the Nintendo partnership was announced?
BIONICLE! BIONICLE! BIONICLE!
...sorry, I'm just very hopeful. If I recall correctly, the project only took a month to hit 10000 supporters, showing Lego that there's clearly a viable interest there. Even if they rework the concept substantially, I think they'd be missing a bet by not making *something* of this idea.
Like I said, I'm just hopeful xD
EDIT: No, my mistake, it wasn't quite that fast. It took less than a week to get half way, and then hit 10000 by the start of the next month. Still amazingly quick, though.
Likely:
Seinfeld
Planet Express Ship
Ratatouille
Typewriter
Bionicle
Clockword Aquarium
Unlikely:
Queen (I think Miracle Express has a chance though)
Zelda
Winter Chalet
Home Alone
Absolutely zero chance:
Huascar
Toronto Rocket

I believe they count each separate Disney movie (or series) as an individual IP; we've already seen Steamboat Willie get approved as an Ideas submission while the Disney license was active, so that's the only explanation that I can see. The Disney theme hasn't yet included anything from Ratatouille, making the movie still fair game under that criteria.
At least, that's the only way I've been able to interpret it, but I dunno for certain.
I would guess at bionicle and typewriter
I don't think any of these will pass, even though I quite like a couple of them.
Clock Work Aquarium and LEGO Typewriter are my guess. The others are either hard to get licenses or too large in size. Deep down inside however I hope that they approve the BotW Stable. I would buy that in a second. Here's to hoping that we'll get a Legend of Zelda theme next year!
Best Fwiend Disney will win. No surprises here.
Best chances are the typewriter and aquarium. They won’t go for something huge this run. Also, Zelda may be part of the license with Nintendo. They won’t pick up another new license. Ideas is too dependent on licenses. And last run they announced a couple of big sets (Pirates, Sesame Street and the Blacksmith)
Planet Express Ship?
"Shut up and take my money!"
Anything but the Subway car. Ludicrously oversized and ugly, and would 'waste' a slot that could be used for a good train.
Typewriter or Clockwork Fish Tank. I doubt the Queen one will get made because that's a lot of printed pieces (or sticker-ed pieces) on the left side to print for just one set. I like it but it doesn't look like it'll be a reality as a Lego set. I also like Seinfeld. I mean TLG did F.R.I.E.N.D.S. so why not Seinfeld.
Unfortunately non of these float my boat. I'm just waiting and hoping for the castle in the next round, as its a great chance to appease Classic Castle fans just like the Barracuda Bay has done for Pirates...... Fingers crossed for you Bionicle fans thou.
Wow, the only one of those I'm even remotely interested in is the Seinfeld one, and even as a Seinfeld fan, I have no idea who the figure on the far left is supposed to represent. Is it Newman?
hopefully the aquarium and typewriter. don't see anything else getting passed. and man enough with the licensed sets already!
Nothing I've ever wanted for the Ideas has ever gone to production, so sorry in advance anyone that wants Seinfeld, Zelda, and particularly Futurama.
As I want them, they have zero chance of making it. :(
Don't care about Licensed.
Piano is already being made as a big set, so no chance for a typewriter.
So I'd have to say Aquarium, it's not too big, and IDEAS could use some smaller sets in it's lineup.
Ratatouille or Home Alone both have a shot because they are Disney. If Lego wants to start printing money they'll pass the BOTW set. It could be a good test run for a Zelda theme. Bionicle is a wild card.
I want Futurama Planet Express, but I know, someone made whole Planet Express building with minifigs and it received 10k votes too. Interesting, what Lego will do with it. Honestly I'd love to buy the both Futurama sets If they were released. If this were possible, the best solution would be to combine both sets, but then the ship should be smaller. Maybe it is possible because Lego often interfered in Ideas sets.
The entire Bionicle community is hoping for that project to pass... let’s see
If the Bionicle set doesn’t pass I’m going to riot. I will buy that set day of release

If we're really lucky, they'll do the BOTW set as a tester and hopefully make a full line of Zelda sets down the road. There's SO much lore to pull from there, with a great mix of action, puzzles, set pieces, and characters to pull from.
I want the Winter Chalet, although I would be OK with the Clockwork Aquarium.
Maybe TLG will look at the popularity of these Futurama builds and take the previous set's positive reception into account when considering this one. I can see how they might balk at something the size of the building, but the ship is just as iconic and could be done much more affordably. I'm already able to see a host of improvements they could work in with fewer pieces in the process!
Of course, if we're really dreaming, Futurama gets the Simpsons treatment with a couple of sets and a CMF line or 2 as well.... :-)
I’m simply astonished that some people on this site (eg Sammy Zammy) have never heard of Seinfield!?!
Whilst not the biggest fan myself, it is considered a groundbreaking and seminal comedy that ran in multiple countries for (I believe) 9 years.
Many people consider it one of, if not THE best sitcom ever made!
It wasn’t THAT long ago, people!
On to the topic at hand - a generally uninspiring lot! The most interesting looking pieces (eg Futurama) are little chance, and I wouldn’t buy most of these even if they were reasonably priced (which we all know is highly unlikely!).
Good luck to all the designers .... but it wouldn’t shock me if NONE of the designs were chosen!
Most likely I guess one of them will be made - probably either the aquarium of typewriter, if I had to guess.
Bonkles, or riot.
I’m hoping for one of these:
The Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables
Ratatouille: Open The Doors!
LEGO Typewriter
Home Alone. McCallister's House
Clockwork Aquarium
The Bionicle one might also be a part of this list, but just for the cool prints. I’ve never really been interested in the Bionicle stories anyway.
Most likely: aquarium
Runner-up: Home Alone
My money is on one of these two.
I like the Huascar personally but just because I enjoy the subject I don't think it really has much chance of winning other than that none of the sets interest me personally... Botw, Futurama and Bioniclce seem to be the most likely options from a sales point of view.
Not a big fan of any of these, but the Botw stables seems kinda cool.
I feel like Lego will most likely choose the BOTW set because they have already partnered with Nintendo for the Super Mario sets, and it would be good to release more Nintendo themes such as The Legend of Zelda, Splatoon, or Mariokart
I'm only interested in Bionicle and Zelda
Bionicle or bust
Ratatouille and Winter Chalet are the most interesting ones.
The Toronto train could be interesting but it needs quite some rework.
All the rest is meh.
Wow that subway has to be the roughest design to reach the judging phase so far.
The only one I would actually buy is the aquarium, so I hope that one wins.
I live that it's relatively small and that it works.
LEGO said they wanted to make more AFOL-focused sets, so you would think that would equate to a larger set.
First, we will see Zelda LEGO. That's a given. Lego and Nintendo are working together. This is a nice build, but it doesn't scream "Zelda" to me. You have to be told that this is Zelda Lego. I think it can absolutely be fixed, though.
I'd like to see a steamship like the Huascar, but I'm not sure if it's iconic enough in Europe or America.
The only one I care about is Seinfeld.
With BBT and Friends, I can’t say Seinfeld is any different subject matter. All have risqué moments.
If they say no to one but let others through, then they need to be less vague about what is brand appropriate.
The only one I'm interested in is winter chalet.
@Antoine_23 said:
"So, just how many approved projects are we owed now, they sure are starting to pile up: muppets, piano, blacksmith and i may be forgetting one!"
Pooh.
I hope for the Huascar, Winter Chalet, and the Clockwork Aquarium
Hey @huw - how about giving us users a chance to vote before the official verdict falls?
:-)

"Huascar: No. It is modern warfare. Plus a highly specific fanbase that not is in a big LEGO purchasing country."
I mean, given the Osprey that was just unveiled a few days ago, I'd say the "modern warfare" part doesn't really apply
If Lego doesn't select Futuruama then..they leave me no choice....https://imgflip.com/i/45zaco
Yay for the clockwork aquarium. I have been following it for a while and in my mind it ticks all the boxes for TLG's review. Fingers crossed!
The queen set whilst brilliant, will never make it.
Whilst the typewritter is clever, it's 40 years too late. No one will buy that set to display. It's a miracle it got 10'00 votes really.
The aquarium has to be the obvious choice when you balance size/price/piece count.
But we have been surprised before....
Seinfeld is really really a cult show only in the US, so I don't see them making the set.
After the biopic, I Want to Break Free might have a chance.
Home Alone is definitely a no. The outside appearance of the house is really bland, to say the least, and I'm not sure the movie has that much of a fan base...
I would really, really like the Futurama or the Zelda one.
I feel they're unlikely to be made, though...
The best candidate is obviously Ratatouille, Disney and Lego have a pretty good relationship.
You know since the merger Futurama is a Disney property now as well. So maybe now is the right time to go down that road?
I would LOVE to see a Home Alone set! Ratatouille would also be fantastic.
One original, one licensed. One diarama, one "look what LEGO can do" set...
So: Ratatouille and Aquarium...
I want the typewriter just for the printed letter tiles. Lego should have those and the original 1x1s from the business card set available at all times. People's need to personalize is everlong.
This year is the 35th anniversary of Mario, next year is the 35th anniversary of Zelda. So I'd hope for a full Zelda theme with the new Nintendo partnership next year, as much as I like the BotW stable.

Yeah it's Newman
Oh how I'd love the BOTW set or Seinfeld to be made
The one that I like the most out of this group is Ratatouille but I'll be very surprised if it gets chosen. I also like the Winter Chalet & Aquarium but don't know if I would get either, it would depend on the price.
These are all well done, but the reliance on licensed themes for inspiration is really getting tiresome.
Probably the Ratatouille one, it'll be a win-win for Disney and Lego.
Most likely: Clockwork Aquarium
Best movie/TV property: Ratatouille (just from looking at the proposal)
Best longshot: BotW stable (again, just from looking at the proposal)
Best longshot without IP: Lego Typewriter (very similar to the piano IMO, but still....)
I suspect they'll pick at least one, because there's such a broad range of excellent choices!
Several good ones, but I really want the McAllisters. Home Aline was one of my favourite films growing up as a child, and we still watch it every Christmas. Never gets old!
I havent read all the comments above but I have really started to DISLIKE (= more directly HATE) all th submission based on some, this and that TV show.. just because two TV shows got their own set does not mean that EVERY single show should be entitled to that as well.. Friends was a total exclusion as being recognised wordwide - both in Asia, EU, US.. .. The Big Bang Theory was to my opinion kind of shooting in the dark .. but having set based on the UK show The Office? no way.. its ridiculous..
and above that.. its not what the IDEAS project was created for in the first place (to mirror something in bricks). I guess that what LEGO intended with that was to receive submission kind of "ethereal or unreal quality" (ehmm. hmm! I have to laugh myself).. over the perfected medium-scale models of something very cool.. but certainly not recreating some TV room filled with bunch of mediocre ppl and 10 coffee cups.
as always, Big Bang Theory set up a benchmark and now everyone is trying to have their chip in the game to receive royalties... im so sick of that. .really.
Hopefully, their new partnership with Nintendo will allow Zelda to finally get a set approved.
The typewriter and aquarium could be interesting and cheaper for LEGO to make.
Otherwise I’m not really sure any of these are good enough. I can’t believe that queen or Seinfeld set got 10k supporters, they don’t look interesting at all.
I hope the winter chalet makes it!
I hope they release Seinfeld, especially since Friends was released (I got it and I'm not a big fan). Otherwise, I'd be interested in Planet Express and Ratatouille.
C'mon, Bessie!
@SinKiller_Nick:
The Disney parks are treated as one license, and are off-limits for Ideas due to the current availability of the castle and railroad sets. In the real world, Disney Princess is treated as a single entity (and Frozen is entirely it's own thing). In terms of the LEGO theme, Frozen is rolled in with the rest of the princesses, but Ideas treats them as individual movies. They've got a page that lists all the off-limits stuff. One section is devoted to active licenses, and another section spells out what's banned permanently due to having already been covered by previous Ideas sets.
So, since there aren't any sets that touch on Ratatouille, it's fair game.
@Antoine_23:
It's Sesame Street, not the Muppets.
Seinfeld and Aquarium, those are my favorites.
I for one would love to see Ratatouille. Also think it stands a chance as would be an ideal set to build on Lego’s relationship with Disney to coincide with the opening of the Ratatouille ride at Epcot this year. Other projects that I think would stand a chance would be the aquarium although a very small model but they’ve done smaller models before. Home alone house would also be great. My only concern about the ideas theme is that recently the final models seem so different from the originals that the outcome could be far from any of these
The only sets of this review phase I could imagine them choosing are the aquarium or the typewriter, as both could make nice display pieces that fit into TLGs new focus upon adult themed sets for people who are not into LEGO in general.
Sarcasm aside, I would love that typewriter. Actually it's the only set of this selection I would buy. All the IPs do nothing for me and the rest simply doesn't look as enticing to me as say the Old Fishing Store or Pirates of Barracuda Bay did.
I prefer non-IP sets over IP ones any day.
@icey said:

:-) "
Make that two votes:
- Which would you personally prefer?
- Which one do you expect?
I find this round hard to call... The subway train is a crude design but we've seen that that doesn't have to be a problem. I've no personal preference but I think any one of them could work as a set.
I don't care for any of them, so it doesn't matter to me which set wins...
I don't get the appeal of the typewriter as a display piece. You'd probably get a real antique for the some money.
I hope the Zelda one gets through not because I want it, but because then an Ocarina of Time set becomes more likely. I also like the aquarium and it looks like it would be reasonably priced.
The best thing about the Ideas Theme is nobody has a clue. People say with absolute certainty that submissions don’t have a chance (Treehouse, Saturn V, Old Fishing Store, Pirate Bay, Piano) and then they’re made.
@Spike730 said:
"I don't get the appeal of the typewriter as a display piece. You'd probably get a real antique for the some money."
Probably, but that it is made out of LEGO would be the main draw. I could definitely see this as a great conversation piece. Think you've got old friends for dinner (imagine Corona doesn't exist) and they see this. They think it is an ordinary old typewriter until someone notices it's made from LEGO pieces. A conversation starts during which everyone remembers how much fun they had playing with LEGO during their childhood. Happy memories galore and some of the guests might even rekindle their interest in LEGO sets.
Win-win situation. :-)
The result will be announced at 10:00 EDT / 15:00 BST / 16:00 CEST, i.e. in 2.5 hours.
i never even heard of senfield .... i would like the ship but that dreams ..rest are not any interest of me :)
Aquarium is an easy win. Can get placed on nearly any retail shelf and sell reliably.
Typewriter for me. That aside, and not knowing where to add the following, is there a way to display newest comments first so that I don't have to scroll all the way down to read the latest ones?
IMHO Seinfeld stand no chance as it's not very well known in Europe (to put it mildly), unlike TBBT or Friends. Or the Queen as a matter of fact...

A similar thing happened with Pirate Bay now known as Pirates of Barracuda Bay. In no time at all it flew up from medium to high votes. And look where it is now. A great seller and a marvelous set.
What osprey?
