LEGO LEGO.com is crashing again in USA. I got all they way thru to payment for Piano and Nintendo and then it would not accept my payment, but I received a notice from PayPal saying that I was charged. Now, I am unable to add these items back to my cart. Argghhh!
Nothing until there's a better GWP than a 'Back to School Bag'!

Exact same thing here
Just got my Nintendo Entertainment System in Canada yay
Unbelievable. Not only is LEGO not accepting my order, but I have two gift cards that I applied, it then crashed and wasn't able to authorize the payment, and now upon reordering, it says the gift cards have been used! Absolute disaster in the US here; they're going to be fielding a lot of frustrated customer calls, including mine.
Slight edit: I can't order any sets right now. LEGO is likely going to lose out on a significant amount of money because of this if things are this bad for others.
One more edit: It took me 20 minutes of constant trying and two gift cards that were eaten by all the errors (clearly LEGO will have to refund me for them), but I was FINALLY able to order the sets that I wanted and have a confirmation number. Still a ridiculous experience, but perseverance pays off I guess.
OK, I think I was able to to get 2 orders in with 2 different credit cards. So happy this went 'live' before midnight CST. I have two confirmation numbers. Hope it works. Can't wait to build the Piano. I'm afraid that TLG is releasing all of these expensive sets this year, while adults are stuck at home due to Covid. Don't know if I'll be able to afford Christmas in December, after LEGO Christmas in July.
I'll be waiting until after the 3rd when my credit card limit resets. By then, the NES and piano will probably be out of stock, just like the Crocodile has been since the day they released it.
Got the Super Mario Starter Course, Desert Pokey Expansion Set, and the polybag!
Successfully ordered a Piano, NES, new Brickhead and an Iron Man mosaic on US site after many retries.
I was planning on getting three Iron Men to make the combined mosaic, but there is a limit of two per order!
I finally got an order to go through, but it took several tries at the last step, to the point that my credit card company asked for confirmation. Good luck! ??
Well after 20 attempts and 12 minutes it looks like I successfully ordered my NES! I got an order number on the web page and an email from PayPal, so I ought to be set. Was considering ordering the Mario set for my son, but it includes an additional gift with purchase if I go to a Lego store. Seeing how no one is going to malls these days, I figured I’d take my chances and try to pick it up Monday at the store.

Keep trying!
Piano on backorder.. already! Ship on 08/15. Unbelievable.
Tried for over 20 minutes before finally getting the NES order through. I was happy since it was the one I wanted the most. BY the time that order went through the Piano was already back ordered until 8/15. I got that as well which is good since it gives me time to build the other set! Still, a bit maddening for the website to fail consistently on nights of big releases.
I'm not seeing any of the Harry Potter or Star Wars sets available for purchase yet. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Had a few issues with payments, both PayPal & entering my CC, but I kept trying & it eventually worked. The NES is mine! Now the agonizing wait begins...
Randomly reloaded the NES page at around 10:55CST and to my surprise the "coming soon" changed to "order now" -- tbh I *rarely* order sets online from LEGO (I pretty much exclusively order replacement parts), but with COVID19 causing the official stores to have fewer offerings I figured I better grab one online while I could.
Best of luck to anyone trying to get what their heart desires!
Also not sure if I'll be getting the little expansion set offered as a GWP since that wasn't mentioned when I checked out. Oh well.

Never use Paypal or gift cards for insta-selling items like the NES.
Yeah, with limit 3 on the Piano and it being so expensive I assumed it would stick around for a while. I'm guessing they didn't make that many of them.
After a million tries was able to place the order for the Mario Sets and the Piano. Phew...! now the wait begins :) so excited!
Definitely learned not to use gift cards the hard way, but I was also having similar issues when not using gift cards at all; still took about 10 straight minutes of errors when ordering with no discounts of any kind. I can see that amazingly the Piano sold out faster than the NES!
Given all the grumbling I've seen about the price, I was surprised to see the piano already on backorder within 20 minutes of release. Still waiting for several sets that have been in "Coming Soon" status for seemingly ever. Maybe Hedwig will be available by my wife's birthday in November?? I guess the cobwebs will start to grow back again on my wallet...just when I was ready to drop a historic amount of coin for Lego (thanks to spending very little on anything else during COVID).
Bit of a random comment, but I'm a little surprised that the LEGO Art Iron Man is available now but the other three are still arriving on September 1st (at least in the US).
Some of the details of this article are incorrect: only the Marvel Art is launching in the US on August 1st; the rest are coming in September.
Additionally, all of the sets which launched in Europe back in June are NOT launching today; instead, they too will be available in September. Same with Star Wars, Technic, and other themes launching in Europe today.
In short: US is getting Mario, NES, Grand Piano, Disney Mice, Halloween sets, Monkie King Brickhead, Mandalorian Brickhead. Nothing else today.
Today I learned to hold off on ordering brand new sets the day they release. Seems like whoever designed the gearbox in the Osprey also designed the website for shop at home.
It seem to have stabilized by now, but the first few mins of when they went live it was a pain. I was so worried I'd get charged but not go through. Glad I managed to snag some of the ones I wanted. Got the NES and a few of the mario sets.
Terribly thought-out though, to make the monty mole surprise GWP be exclusive to In-Store IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC. Shoudl've been made available online.
got nes and Marilyn Monroe

Agree, personally I'm high risk for infection of the virus and I can't leave my home due to doctor's orders unless it's an emergency. I tried to order the starter set back when it went online with the GWP a few months back and had nothing but problems with the site and it wouldn't go through. Called Lego CS as soon as they opened and explained I was trying to order and asked if I could do a phone order and by then the set with the GWP was sold out. Really depressing since I was really looking forward to the set. I can't pay the aftermarket prices so I guess I'll live without it. I know firstworldproblems and it's only Lego, but tbh Lego is my mental health check during all this going on right now. Ok, getting off the soapbox, sorry.

If you look at your 'Check Order Status' it will show what you're actually getting. I've found a few times recently that a GWP hasn't showed up at check out, but does in your order status.

Im not seeing anything either. I got all excited when I saw Harry Potter, but now I’m disappointed

Very Disappointed as I was going to get Sith art and the technic range only to find out I have to wait a month. It’s understandable because of the pandemic, but some consistency would be nice, particularly for the art range. I mean, why only the Iron man art?

Pretty sure HP doesn’t release here until September.
I don't get it, the June sets for Creator, City, and Friends themes are STILL not available in the US. This is really disappointing. I waited for July 1st and now August 1st and still nothing, just "Coming Soon" on the sets I've been wanting most since they were announced and then released in EU and then delayed twice in the US apparently.
Took me like 15 minutes to check out for the NES System, but it went through after some errors and long loading screens.
Glad I got one, but I feel bad for those who didn't. I've been on that end way too many times with other items/companies.
I just can't fathom why so many websites can't anticipate or handle traffic on sure-to-be busy days.
Why does the article say they added Harry Potter sets to the US LEGO.com if the Hogwarts Accessory Set has been there since June?
Correction needed: In the United States, of the LEGO Art products, only Iron Man is available for purchase now. The Sith, Marilyn Monroe, and The Beatles are shown as releasing September 1, 2020.
Currently as a GWP goes, there is a Super Mario Accessory set (polybag 30385) available with purchases over $40 in the United States.
Great, now I've got gift credit that will probably expire before the sets I actually want, that were due June 1st then July 1st then August 1st are delayed AGAIN. Lame.
New Zealand has all the Mario in stores but only 4 out of the August 1st Star Wars Releases. All the others are sold out online, and there is a message saying that they cannot deliver to NZ due to Covid - which seems weird since we have passed the lockdown phase and currently able to shop everywhere and get other parcels into the country. Guess I get to wait till the end of the year again for 501st battle pack and AAT, and who knows if the Razor Crest will get here before 2021
My order errored out before confirmation screen twice so I used a different payment method and it worked. Problem is I checked my order history an hour later and now I have 3 orders for the same thing. Really hope I can get these cancelled before they go to warehouse tomorrow.
Dang it, I thought I was going to be able to at least pre order the new Star Wars sets like I was able to for the Razor Crest and Resistance I-TS transport. Guess I’ll have to wait until September 1st :(
Unbelievable! That anyone is surprised by LEGO's website crashing, highly anticipated sets already backordered, etc. "You didn't see this coming?"
Does anybody know what is going on with the Harry Potter sets in Canada I thought they were available on August 1st
Got the piano but on 60 day back order. Wasn’t expecting that delay. Got all the Nintendo sets. I’m building the NES as soon as it arrives. Got the seasonals.
Very disappointed the Marilyn Monroe, City, Hidden Side, and Pirate Ship still aren’t available in the US. No communication from LEGO about that is even more disappointing. We seem to be such an afterthought.
Everything still available here in quantity it appears.

Totally agree, I had been planning to do a big order today but definitely going to wait
Managed to snag a NES and Mario starter set this morning around 6am CDT without any problems. And it looks like the GWP for my order was "Super Mushroom Surprise Expansion Set" which seems pretty cool and appropriate to what I ordered.

Believe most everything is delayed for North America although I don't think LEGO has been forthcoming about an exact date. I have mostly heard Sept 1 as other comments have mentioned.
It's a shame that the Lego SW sets seem to have been delayed from August to September as were the City and the the White House, it does provide more time to save pennies to buy them all at once.
I thought the Creator Pirate Ship, Ocean Explorer sets and HP sets would be available Aug 1st in the US?
Will Brickset be reviewing the Lego Art series?
New sets have been available about an hour before midnight here. I ordered AAT (mainly for Ashoka and her dedicated clone), 501st BP (obviously for minifigs too, even if I like more and more the speeder) and the little 76167 Iron man armour scene (which eventually looks like a complement to the previous bigger one). Order passed without any problem. 1 hour later, both SW sets were out of stock. Mine are now in warehouse. Mandalorian and the Child, preordered a few months ago, in warehouse too. Next week smells like a good and fun build time.
Was hoping to just make a small order, probably the $30 Ninjago set and the Zane Minifig pack from earlier this year, but it seems Ninjago is also still not available. Guess it's time to wait until September.
Completely disappointed that the Master of the Mountain Ninjago sets aren’t available yet in the US. Probably will try to get them shipped internationally by other means than LEGO’s site now.
Ive been waiting for the release of Destiny's Bounty for months now, but still nothing in the US. Its really disappointing that the vast majority of sets still aren't available in the US at all.

Hopefully Lego will one day propose its customers a reliable site, stocks enough and overall online purchase experience worthy of the brand. I mean we are now on 2020. And such issues regularly occurs with new waves of released sets...a bit of a shame isn't it?
@Huw Is there any way you can find out from your sources at LEGO why almost none of the summer sets have yet to be made available in USA? Seems like LEGO would want its American fans to know something of what they're dealing with, so that (a) we (customers) can plan a little better and (b) we can understand what problems LEGO is coping with.
75280 and 75283 available in Europe now . . .
*Cries in United States Citizen*
I don't think the Super Mushroom Surprise GWP is coming to the UK shop @home at this point :/
Been waiting for the piano since they announced it last year. Now it is completely out of stock on launch day? I don't think I have tried to buy something day 1 before, but it seems like they vastly underestimated the demand for this one.

I had a pretty terrible experience last night too. Took 25 minutes and at least 10 times as many page reloads, and my cart was inexplicably cleared out several times. My CC was charged twice, but fortunately I only have one order number, so it should be easy to resolve. Anyway, I empathize.
the 501st set were already sold out in France at 1 am.
NES is sold out now.
I just did a Podcast Episode designed specifically for you to listen to as you build the set! Full of fun and interesting facts about the NES and Super Mario Bros.!

I hope everyone here is patient and smart enough to not buy from scalpers. The eBay prices for certain sets are ridiculous.
Remember folks that the North American Production plant was closed for over 2 months. There are current issues that may cause it to shut back down. So trying to give exact dates on availability is difficult. If you are in the US or Canada and see a white sticker with the parts count and set number these sets are coming from EU production. Lego is actively trying to increase production but with shipping issues, raw materials and unprecedented demand Lego is trying to do the best they can. So it sucks that you can't get the sets from Lego but there are many other ways to get the sets. Check IWOOT you can buy there and the shipping to the US is very reasonable and I have had items delivered from the E.U. to Colorado in 4 days. Quicker and many times cheaper the LEGO.com.
Glad I am not interested in any of those sets.
I have 2 points.
1. Why does the Number 1 toy company IN THE WORLD have such a garbage online store?
2. Why do they not limit day one releases to 1 per customer? ESPECIALLY if production plants have been closed months?
It’s like LEGO isn’t even trying...

1. It is not garbage, they are dealing with a flood of activity. This is not exactly uncommon - has even happened to Apple in the past, etc.
2. That is a good idea actually. Very reasonable
Don’t agree that they are not trying though... Kind of a crazy statement to make. Everyone in the world has had to deal with side effects to their business because of COVID - it is a huge strain. There are far bigger issues they are dealing with than having upset customers that are simply made they couldn’t buy a product on day 1.

It happens EVERY TIME several big releases are on the same day. (Stager them)
I know they are having issues with the factories. I just think it’s silly not to limit items especially in times like these.
My 11yrs old daughter and I stood in a line along with many others who are also unafraid in this time of apparently crippling fear. Line already long when we arrived forty minutes prior to store opening. Met some other AFOL and enjoyed talking to them while we all waited . After the line grew so long it began to be an issue inside the mall they decided to open the store early. Pandemic protocols applied and only seven shoppers allowed inside at a time. A manager moved along the line asking shoppers what they were seeking and advising as to it's availability given stock count and place in line. Exceptional service.
After finally gaining access to store we got the very last piano (only seven sent to the store I was told) , a Mario starter set, the NES, and Mickey & Minnie Mouse. Very enjoyable Saturday morning.

I know COVID is making things difficult for everyone. But:
(1) A toy company's job is mainly to make toys that people can get and play with. As things are, people in USA basically CAN'T get any of the new toys. We haven't had much new since the pandemic started.
(2) It seems to me that it would be very little trouble for them to manage expectations better by not advertising all these new sets so many months before they will be available. And the suggestion to limit everybody online to 1 of each set is excellent.
Absolutely miserable site experience - got my NES order in fine last night, about 10 minutes after it released. PayPal tool the money, Lego confirmed order. In the morning, it's cancelled. Still in stock, so I do a second order. Same thing a few hours later. Finally, I manually put my card info in, and Lego has already cancelled it. They keep saying the order is failing a verification test, but it hasn't stopped them from charging me each time in full and not yet refunding (makes sense, hasn't been long yet). I don't know why any of these have gotten cancelled other than Lego having an utter failure of an online ordering system. Pandemic aside, if one of the largest toy companies in the world can't handle a large release, why do stuff like this? Sent off an email, hoping I'll get a response before it presumably sells out. Just miserable all around.
It's a double whammy for LEGO because production capacity is crippled AND demand seems to be at an all-time high with multiple high-dollar items. The 2 set limit on the Iron Man mosaic is also a huge miss, and unlike production capacity has an easy fix.
UPDATE: Well Lego just deflated my excitement yet again... thought my order for the piano went thru last night. They sent me an email a couple hours ago stating that it is not expected to ship until the end of August. I'm still surprised the piano sold out and not the Nintendo.
Count me in with the others that are highly disappointed with TLG. I get that we're in unprecedented times right now. HOWEVER, in no other time in the history of TLG have they had access to so many ways to possibly keep customers informed of the changing situations. They obviously have a wonderful promotions team, given all the videos and teasers they release. Now, just use a fraction of that energy to keep your customers informed of what is going on. Don't just put items in "Coming Soon" mode or keep bumping back the dates seemingly arbitrarily. I feel bad for any of their phone reps, because you know they have to be dealing with a large number irate customers.
Is it just me, or have they also cut out the VIP early access to sets lately as well? I can't recall the last set that had that benefit for VIP members.
I think we all could benefit from being a bit more patient and understanding. Been saving money for months? Save it for 1-2 more. Can’t get it on day one? It will be in stock at a future date.
At a time when employees of companies are actually dying (very likely given the size of their company, this has occurred at my company) and they are shutting down entire facilities, we as fans of that company can be more empathetic. Businesses all around us are closing permanently. We all can deal with longer lead times.
I don’t disagree they could do better at managing expectations, but they are also trying to find a way at moving their business forward.

For a business, high demand seems like a good problem to have if you were ever plagued with one; especially for large ticket items.

On that same token, LEGO could follow in the footsteps of other big companies and outright delay some release of new products. Instead they still choose to release wave after wave of ever increasing big ticket items which they obviously have a problem fulfilling.
Yes, I know just like many businesses run on a seasonal schedule and release dates were planned well in advance but look at the movie industry and its delays or even the Minions movie sets as an example to indefinitely delay.
BTW, LEGO.com has always been plagued with problems so this isn't entirely due to COVID.
Holy. Living. Flip.
The amount of entitled whining on here is despicable. I truly feel sorry for the customer service staff who have to deal with adults complaining that they can't get a toy they want on the day they want it.
Yes, LEGO's site is a bit rubbish & crashes on release day, but it ALWAYS crashes on release day; this should not come as a shock to you. Why not wait a few days and then place your order?
Oh, because the set you want will be out of stock! Will it be out of stock forever? No, in a few weeks it will be back, like every new set ever.
And is your precious set not being released until next month?
Just... wait...
Have you HONESTLY got NO other LEGO to build until then?
Welp, if I wasn’t losing faith in humanity before from all the crazy s**t happening all over the world, nice to know I can just come here to this comment section. Lol
Well, I see we have both sides covered...those losing their s*it over having to wait and those losing it over those complaining about having to wait longer.
While some of it may be a little over the top, COVID aside, many of the issues raised have been going on for a long time with TLG. Entitlement? Debatable, IMO. Do you put up with this kind of service for your car? Your smartphone? A contractor working on your house? If the same issues keep going on, you find someone else to provide you good service (including keeping you informed as conditions change). Yes, Lego is a toy, but it is still a consumer good. TLG seemingly gets to slide more because there is no other major competition as big as they are.
I didn’t order anything but for what it’s worth their site is pretty janky and has been for years, especially on mobile. I once emailed them about how terrible it is to look at images on a phone and they basically said “most people use a desktop”.
Sorry but if your site doesn’t work well on a phone you are choking off a giant group of potential customers. The website feels like an overstaffed group of people who know the basics of MVC using ASP.net Core but can’t really chase away those final bugs.
Glad to see the Marilyn and Beatles sets are available on Amazon and not just Lego.com exclusives. Hopefully should be down to around £65 in a few months if Speed Champion reductions are anything to go by.
Shame that Creator Expert / 18+ sets rarely are.
