Charity cycle ride likely to be beset with bad weather

Posted by ,

Our cycle ride to raise money for Fairy Bricks takes place tomorrow. Eleven of us in the UK, Denmark, France and Germany will each ride about 100Km in our local areas to total the distance from London to Billund, a journey four of us undertook on two wheels in 2018.

Unfortunately, after a 30c heatwave, the weather has taken a turn for the worse in the UK and it looks like most of us will be troubled by rain, and possibly even thunderstorms, later in the day. Nevertheless, the ride is going ahead and you will be able to keep track of our progress on Instagram and Twitter.

If you've not already sponsored us, it's no too late: you can do so at GoFundMe and, after the event, check out our rides and combined distance at ChallengeHound.

Thank you!

LOL. "30c" and "heatwave" in the same sentence. Here in GA the average temperature is 34c.

If only most UK buildings, especially houses had air conditioning like most US buildings do. That's why we complain more about our heatwaves cause getting cool is mostly relying on a fan or if your lucky like me a portable AC unit.

During heat waves I tend to find myself in the local Supermarkets or retail park shops pretending to shop but in fact I'm just taking advantage of their AC :D, oh and looking at LEGO ofc.

@guachi 30C is a heatwave in the UK. Homes don’t really have AC, plus people are just not acclimatised to those temperatures. I’ve been living in the States for over twelve years now and I’m still not used to the heat over here. I look forward to the winter each and every year!

And here I am in Texas with 100 being a normal summer day. I really envy California’s weather.
