An image of the 2020 Winter Village set, 10275 Elf Club House, has emerged on LEGO's official Facebook page for South Korea. The image has subsequently been withdrawn.

This set comprises 1197 elements and contains four minifigures alongside an exclusive reindeer! The original image from Facebook is shown after the break, stating that 10275 Elf Club House will be available on the 23rd of September.

What is your opinion of the newest Winter Village set? Let us know in the comments.

Looks really neat, but the marvel to me is how they put together the old-school PC.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wish they made more elf hat with ears, just maybe a different color hat, like reddish brown or dark tan. They would be useful in so many MOCs.

Edit: Why is LEGO's Korean facebook page leaking so many sets in one day?

Reindeer!!! Reindeer!!! REINDEER!!! It has a reindeer! Not a patronus, not a Disney Frozen character, but a proper LEGO reindeer. Only one - I need eight, but, but... REINDEER!!! I'm happy :) I'll be getting this, because the house looks so much better than I was expecting, but mostly because it has a reindeer. Did I mention there is a reindeer in this set. REINDEER!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm in love, though it looks similar in its style to the Gingerbread House it's still very very epic looking, definitely one I'll be looking into buying at least after getting the Gingerbread House though

Gravatar
By in Albania,

Finally we get the reindeer!

I wonder want the price of these will do on the secondary market

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Unless the interior is amazing i'm going to struggle with this one.. it's just a little dull, oh look another winter set with a tree and snow covered roof on an alpinesque building (reindeer aside).... I have every WV set to date both in our opened/build collection and also as additional sealed sets in storage.. I may be forced to get this to keep it running in the hope it's just a year where I personally am a little underwhelmed. i.e. if next next picks up for me shame to have a gap. Or are they now come one for more than one year I may hand on.. can't see there being a fight for these this year like there was last year on Gingerbread House.... unless it has a lower price point that the usual £74.99 to £89.99 range.. if this is in the £55 to £70 band I may rethink.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It doesn't look bad, however I feel like the prominent A-frame is very similar to the gingerbread house. I was hoping for something architecturally different this year, as well as something that was a return to the "real world" and not fantasy for a second year in a row. Hoping this is less than $100 USD as it looks a bit smaller than the gingerbread house.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like it but why the heck are all the elves the same color? Was really hoping for a few different colored elf hat's. Glad I got several with red hats from BAM last year.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is fine and all, but after two fantasy themed winter sets (Santa's Workshop and the Gingerbread House) I'd definitely love a return to the *actual* winter village. These are nice enough sets but they don't fit in with everything else.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Love it! Want it!
Cute deer, too - this will enable a disney-like Xmas display. Because Disney mostly use deerlike creatures for their Xmas sleigh stuff... Mythical flying reindeer maybe look like that...?
Now, Olaf from Frozen - THAT is a reindeer!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I agree with CCC. It looks fine. Nothing really special to me. To the point I rather LEGO rereleased the Santa set with two of the reindeer instead of the brick built ones. For $100 I want more than that. There were leaks of a red elves hat, why not that? Or at least a dark green hat, anything different.

It's just kind of there. Looks nice but isn't needed.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I really like it, but then I've only been buying the Winter Village sets sporadically. I wonder if Lego aren't simply running out of ideas; there's only so many things you can do with the premise.

Gravatar
By in United States,

At this rate I'm going to have two Winter Villages - the traditional one and a North Pole.

I second the desire for more coloured elf hats. And only one reindeer? You need more than that. The building looks lovely.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll definitely be picking up a reindeer on Bricklink for sure.

I really need a house with a full sized basement so I can expand my collection. I have a single bedroom for displaying my collection and I'm running out of space.

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

This set looks amazing!

And I love the new reindeer piece!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I’m a huge fan of the WV sub theme, and I will buy it to keep and display but it looks a little dull compared to last years. The piece count must be made of 1x1’s because it looks relatively small. Also, the reindeer does not have a red shiny nose.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I like the brick built 1980s computer. The reindeer piece is really cool too. I liked the Gingerbread House more, but this set still looks fun.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't like the look of the black box art combined with a winter scene. Also, the A-frame roof looks suspiciously similar to my 2019 Winter Chalet's roof.

Maybe I should sue :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well, I skipped the Gingerbread House so I may get this one, subject to price.
I like the reindeer, and that's a really nice Christmas Tree - getting sick of ones built of stacks of right-hand wedges without their matching counterparts. And the old PC looks brilliant at that size.

Would have been nice to have a bit of variety in the Elf outfit colours though.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Aw, I love it. Hope it isn't too pricey.

I do find the black box art looks really strange on this one though, I'd rather it wasn't used on every expert set, though I understand why LEGO has adopted that strategy.

Gravatar
By in France,

I am really surprised at the 18+ branding for a set that should be family oriented.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Bit boring lets have a 6000+ part count winter set.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like this... especially the Reindeer might have to bricklink a few of these & some of the elves!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think this is one of the best-looking Winter Village sets to date! I love how well it captures the look of an alpine lodge, which sadly isn't an architectural style we get often in LEGO - for me, it does so even better than the rest of the theme! I was sad to have missed out on Santa's Workshop, but this looks like it will be even better at that role than the original dedicated set!

I'm a little surprised at some of the lukewarm comments here, but to each their own.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I agree with some others that this set has some neat features but it isn't that unique. I guess LEGO either is running out of ideas or set the bar too high early on for the WV sets.

Lastly, why oh why the black adult theme box? It's supposed to be a bright and cheerful holiday theme not a dark and mysterious batman set.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Meh. Probably skip. I liked the actual Winter Village but then we got Santa's workshop, the Toy shop re-release, Gingerbread house, now this. The train and station weren't great either.
Since the fun fair/ market in 2013 the fire station was the only half-decent winter village set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sadly Winter village is getting repetitive, but lets just wait for the inside....

Gravatar
By in Canada,

It looks very similar to previous years’ sets. I feel like they are running out of ideas...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looks good to me!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Disappointing to get another 'fantasy' Winter Village entry after last year's Gingerbread House. I understand there must be a market for these, but I'd prefer they at least alternate years with regular Winter Village sets.

Gravatar
By in Costa Rica,

My opinion? I need it!!! lol

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I would prefer a non-fantasy Winter Village set after I missed out on the Cottage. I wish the Chalet had passed the review on Ideas...

Gravatar
By in France,

The moulded reindeer is neat but it'll look a bit out of place next to the brick-built ones from Santa's Workshop, which is a shame. Didn't get the set last year but I might get it this time even though I essentially have no more room in our winter village which takes several days to put together

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love the tree!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I agree with others that the 18+ box art just doesn't look right here. I'd like a return to non-fantasy WV, this one feels maybe half-way there? That tree looks way better than most recent efforts.

At this rate Korean FB is the new lego leaks.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

It's weird that this is 18+ and hoe the South Korean page has been sharing so many goodies to us, I love the reindeer but that's about it other than they can have a Link in minifigure form.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think it looks very cute! I like the color scheme and the string lights. The small builds also look cute, like the computer and the piano. I don't mind the repetitive look; I would rather have it blend in than stand out like a sore thumb. I also think it fits in better with the theme than some of the past sets (like the gingerbread house). But I'm also biased because I don't really have enough of a WV collection (due to dark ages) for it to bother me. I'm not sure if I will get it because my collection IS so small, it is probably awkward to just have a bakery (if I find the pieces) and an elf clubhouse and nothing else :) I can't wait to see the inside.

Though I must ask, what is an elf clubhouse?????

10275 Santa's Elves Visit the Upside Down

Gravatar
By in United States,

I normally like new animals molds, but I actually love the brick-built reindeer from Santa's Workshop and bricklinked a full set. If there are no new elf prints in this, I will probably skip.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It looks cool. I'm not sure it looks advanced enough to be 18+ though, as others have said. But I like the dark box because it looks quite christmassy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Personally love the look of it, I think the architecture is really pretty.
Doesn't look to similar to the Gingerbread House to me

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Hard pass: I much prefer the sweet treats on offer at the gingerbread house compared to the salad & exercise they enforce at the 'elf club.

First rule about Elf Club: You do not talk about Elf Club!
...
Third rule of Elf Club: Someone yells "Stop!", goes limp, taps out, Christmas is over.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Beautiful set (if a bit standard design-wise), but awful, awful boxart. It has never been more apparent how that black void sucks the life out of a set's appeal than with what is supposed to be a cheerful, family-oriented holiday set.
Now the 'display' part of it is so over-emphasized that it just looks like the set can't hold a candle to other display sets... as it isn't just a display set. It's for all ages. We're talking about a santa elf club house, not a bust or recreation of anything.

The boxart makes it feel wrong for the set to be colourful and whimsical whilst it really shouldn't have.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Absolutely love this. A day one purchase. Going to have to figure out how to aquire seven more reindeer though.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I love the reindeer and the 80s computer. Not interested in the rest. Don't care for all that fantasy stuff, I prefer a realistic winter village. Already didn't buy last year's set for the same reason.

I have heard that this set will contain a reindeer, just though that you would be interested.

Gravatar
By in France,

It will be mine! Will probably wait for a discount though. I already got at a fair price the Winter Toy Shop, the Winter Village Station and the Winter Holiday Train (and the small Gingerbread House for free).

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love it, but I will readily admit that might be because my dark age kept me from acquiring most of the Winter Village line (same as @mic27 ). And I agree that a little color variation in the elves would have been nice.

Still, it's a great-looking, festive set, that includes a reindeer (and therefore the possibility to Bricklink / Brick Owl more of them) and an old-school computer. Hard not to like all that!

My Bricklink reindeer expense account is now accepting deposits.

It takes a big reindeer to pull a fata$$ Santa and a global supply of toys!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love the old PC but I'm giving up on trying to figure out which decade Winter Village is living in... at this point it could be anywhere from the 30's to the 80's. It's like Batman the Animated Series (which was also great!).

Gravatar

THIS IS NOT A REINDEER! Blame Disney...

Looks fantastic. Nice to see a return to the lapland themed seasonal sets

Gravatar

This is PACKED with good stuff! I'm down for this!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Second Winter Village disappointment. First being the reissue of the Toy Shop. This is just so underwhelming, I’ll buy as a completist but when it’s on sale.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Woah!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Whilst there is no reason why adults wouldn't buy this set, having the 18+ artwork is absolutely ridiculous.

It sort of made sense to have the 18+ branding for more adult-targetting sets that don't neatly sit alongside others - for example it might have been a good thing for the Old Trafford set (had they been doing it then).

But really, the Creator Expert was a good distinct theme in it's own right, and this set is proving that shelving it in favour of 18+ was a really bad move.

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if they kept the artwork style and varied the age suggestion according to content.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Winter Village sets are neat, but not very different from one another.

Gravatar
By in United States,

First impression was not great. But I will still buy it.

Everyone keeps mentioning the black box looks off. Can they just get rid of black boxes altogether? They always look like crap in person. The black shows every crack and scrap in the box. As an adult, box color won’t persuade me. If I like what’s inside, I will buy it. But this makes collecting hard when all the boxes look like damaged crap.

I’m not sure what the point of the black box is. Adults already know they are buying a “kids toy” when they shop for these. I don’t think it will stop kids from getting it. Also don’t think this means LEGO will make more “adult” themes. I liked the expert designation better.

DEER DEER DEER

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hoping this is in the $60 - $70 range. It has almost 300 fewer pieces than Gingerbread House. But it also has four mini figures compared to two for the Gingerbread House (Sorry, I don’t count the 1x2 baby gingerbread plate a minifigure)....and the new reindeer.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I love the reindeer, and I love the Christmas tree, but I didn't bother with the Gingerbread house and I think I'm going to skip this one, too. Can we got back to the actual winter village stuff, at some point? I don't like these fantasy ones at all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like that there are fantasy Winter Village sets with Santa and Elves and reality Winter Village with townspeople.

Looks so small for 1200 pieces, though. And the black background on the box art makes the set look inert and lifeless.

Hey, buddy, your link is broken.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

4 elfs: one green, one dark green, one red, one dark red. All of them have different printed patterns on their shirt and different faces (now you know!). One reindeer: tut, tut, four reindeer. 18 years old? tut, tut, this is 0 to infinity. Black box: tut, tut, did Lego just hired Henry Ford? Henry Ford: "Paint them the colour you want; as long as they are black". A big no, no. Adults like to have fun and be merry as well. Not all has to be drab and all seriousness. A theme has to be flexible enough to allow for a presentation that fits the content.

As for the model, fine by me (aside the points mentioned above). This is a christmassy thingy. There is so much variety that can be done. If they go too far outside the box, people will complain: "what the heck is this, this does not look like anything christmassy that we know". That's why it's called a "tradition": same style, same general appearance, same feeling... Now, let's see how much this thing will cost - cause it looks somewhat small and has plenty of 1x1s.

What intrigues me the most (due to poor resolution) is the parts linking the deer to the sleigh.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So, for those who are wondering about the computer, it looks like the screen is just a white 2x2 tile with either black print or a solid black sticker. It's attached with a bracket, probably 1x2-2x2 Up, and the rest is pretty basic construction.

@Meowzap77:
In actual sets, they've only ever released the elf hat in bright green. In Build-A-Minifig, they've offered the same in red the last couple years. But currently that's the extent of it. Since these are Christmas elves, I wouldn't expect much more variety of color except maybe other shades of red and green.

@kolaxanthe:
Given the wacky solutions I've come up with (minotaurs and baby raptors), actual reindeer kinda feels like cheating.

@Jacopyright:
Psst. Olaf's the snowman. Sven?

@HOBBES:
Short chains. Gold ones.

Gravatar

That reindeer better be articulated both hind legs and neck and not just a recolor of the patronus deer.

I was actually able to obtain 3 of them from a secondary seller for about $12 USD each. Found them last month and currently have them in hand. Don't know if this site has messaging, but if it does, feel free to shoot me one and I can give you the site!

Gravatar

@darkstonegrey can confirm they are a recolor of the Patronus stag. No articulation at all sadly. I agree the hind legs and neck should have movement like the horse and big cat molds

By in Belgium,

And the route chosen to fantasy Christmas seems to be a definite one.
It is almost as if LEGO has given up on designing wonderful WV-sets. It all has become cookie-cutter generic. And perhaps time to change the line to 'North Pole' or 'Christmas Village' since 'Winter Village' doesn't seem to live up to its name.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I think the black box art makes it look kinda spooky, more like a haunted house.
Perhaps it will be released on Halloween ;-)

(In case the irony is lost on some, I do realize when it is actually released. I simply dislike the box art.)

Looks neat, yes, but after the gingerbread house last year, I'll pass. Would be nice for some addition for the winter village like a town hall or school?? Seeing kids running off school to the winter market.... though the reindeer is nice

Gravatar

With current TLG trends for pricing, the price for this is likely to be far too high.

The deer is more like a Red Deer.

Which is a welcome addition to the range of lego animals.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Jacopyright:
I've actually eaten reindeer. In downtown Anchorage, there are a few street vendors that sell reindeer sausage. My parents wanted to do a family trip there for their 50th, and my dad thought it would make for an interesting "first meal". I was able to convince him that when you can see four food carts, and only one of them has a line, that's the one you go to. Later in our trip, we stopped for breakfast at a restaurant called Latitude 62, and I think that was the only place I ever saw it on a menu, so I had it again. It was pretty good, but didn't really compare to the shredded bison sliders I had at Yellowstone. On that one, they do perform culls at Yellowstone when the bison herds get too large, but I believe all the bison and elk that's served in the park comes from commercial herds maintained in other locations.

@R0Sch:
So, funny thing is, when species that have antlers are growing a new rack, the antlers are covered in tissue that's called "velvet", which can actually be a darker color than the animal's coat. It's a huge cheat to say that they're perpetually in velvet, but there's another possibility. When the antlers are done growing, they scrape the velvet off on trees, revealing the pale tan antler underneath. The tree bark can stain the antler brown.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’ll buy it to keep the overall WV collection going but I’m really not into the fantastical sets. I’m already looking forward to 2021’s WV set in hopes that it will be realistic/town-based. C’est la vie.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I do like this but... the ‘clone’ elves makes me think of a Christmas Doctor Who episode, one not yet done, but attack of alien elves. The building is nice, but the interior will be the deciding factor for me. Will be making the gingerbread house to a regular one this year, at least this should be easy to do the same. LEGO: please bring back real world Winter Village builds.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I am not a fan of those black boxes. Especially in this case. It doesn't help the set look jolly at all. I would be more interested in it if it had a festive box. I hope TLG realizes that the black boxes were a mistake before next years modular building.
