Every year the threshold for getting the gift is set higher.
In the past I could go for the November and December gift, nowadays I am not getting anything at all :( Kids don't want lego anymore and for only the winter village set you will not met the €150
It would be appropriate if the threshold would meet the price of the new winter village set. Any threshold above that just makes LEGO look greedy.
the 8 sets on my want list that are over or close to the $150 are all temporarily out of stock online. I f I want it I'm forced to head to my local Lego store during a pandemics/Christmas shopping. Truly not worth it
It’s a shame 41415-41419 were cancelled. They were supposed to release today. :(
The sets I planned to use to get this (Barracuda Bay or a combination with Sesame Street) are temporarily out of stock on the site. Need to make a trip to the store. But of course the first snowstorm of the year is happening today, so might have to wait a day and hopefully the sets will still be there.
Everything any good is out of stock!
How can a toy company fail so badly right before Christmas? And don't blame the virus; all the production is automated!
Must... acquire... Christmas... torsos.....
*sigh* No double-dipping this year. In the US, promotions usually run nationwide, starting with the Eastern time zone, and concluding with Pacific, Alaska, or Hawaii/Aleutian (never stayed up late enough to figure out which one). This year, I had an order in my cart ready to go at midnight, and as soon as I got the skating rink to show up in my cart, Dickens was gone, and the price breaks on a couple sets were rolled back. Even then, it took a little bit for the giftwrap kit to show up.
@fulcrumbop:
Call and ask to reserve something. They're allowed to hold any sets through close the day after you call. Some people even try to cheat the system and skip the next day, but show up before the store opens the following day, as the set will be held until they lock the doors, and will be first-come-first-serve at opening on the third day.
Wow, $150? That's a shame, even with my purchase plans I won't meet that threshold. With the overhauled and ruined VIP system, less and less reason to buy direct from Lego these days.
The in store promotions for the US are interesting...a BB-8 and an Olaf Sled. I don’t remember seeing them before, but they may have already been shown and talked about.
Actually I think that BB-8 is older now that I think about it...I have a vague memory of building something like it a couple of years ago.
Today I got the ice rink, plus the Dickens set, plus the train polybag, plus the Christmas tree polybag at the store! That was a good haul.
All 10 items that I wanted are now temporarily out of stock. I have had items on my watch list for over 6 months that have never been temporarily out of stock. I received the Dickens set so hopefully one of my sets I want will come back and I can get the ice rink.
I see these GWPs are still available with a back order.
I was wondering. How reliable are Lego at sending them by the dates they state?
^ the one time I back ordered something (the Saturn V, I think?) it actually came sooner than the expected date. But I don't think I'd put a lot of stock in that, especially if you're shooting for before Christmas.
75288 is back in stock online, a set that can put you over the magic 150 mark.
that said, this X.99 stuff really is lame when you try to combine sets to reach a target like $150, you end up off by 2-4 cents and then what. Hey Lego, let us use our Lego VIP points to acquire a raise my total by 10 cents promo code to cover this ridiculous situation or better yet why not say 149.95 to round up to 150 for this purpose to allow for some set combinations .
So what’s the source on that pic of 71742?
I was lucky enough to buy the Elf Clubhouse last Tuesday, and together with some extras it added up to just over 150 euro. They had this set, but also gave me the Charles Dickens set because they still had some. I count myself very lucky I just had to be there for work that day too :)
@sidneyleejohnson:
Drop a dollar and there won't be any problems. $49, $99, $149, $199, etc.
Gr8 news...
Just got an email from shop.lego.com. it appears Barracuda Bay is back in stock, plus FREE GWP & gift wrap are both still in stock so add this to your cart, and all 3 items will ship... No pun intended

My list of sets is over 10 and not a single set was in stock. How am I supposed to spend over $150 LEGO?
As most everyone else has stated, most everything on my want list is out of stock. My only option is to buy fifteen $10 sets that I don't want or need... :(
I hope LEGO finds another way to offer this set to loyal fans.
