©2021 LEGO Group

10278 Police Station, City, Technic, Friends, NINJAGO, Marvel, Star Wars, BrickHeadz, Super Mario, the 18+ botanical collection and much more is now available at LEGO.com.

It seems that the release of the Chinese Traditional Festival sets has been brought forward 10 days to today as well, so you can now place just one order this month to get everything you're after of the January releases.

Furthermore, this cool 40448 Vintage Car is the gift with purchase with orders exceeding $85 / £85.

And, some good news for those of us in the UK for a change, standard shipping to us EU outliers has resumed, albeit potentially with a short delay.

£85 in the UK, although not live until midnight all the marketing and ads for the free set are now live in the UK.

I assume the site will be busy at midnight.

By in Belgium,

Anyone else having problems with their order? I tried to order, my PayPal confirmed the payment by mail, but I can't find my order on my account and LEGO didn't send me a confirmation mail...

Darn I checked out assuming everything was live
Fingers crossed an email to customer service tomorrow will sort it

By in Ireland,

Got the ice rink with the police station, hoping to get the car with the lantern park in 38 mins. Also ordered the bonsai.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

I placed a few orders (credit card went through each time no problem). No emails or showing in my orders but hopefully it will show up soon. So excited for the Modular, botanical sets and Chinese new year sets! January is an expensive month already! With Ninjago City gardens coming in the middle of the month, not sure how I am going to afford it!

By in France,

Order passed. Vintage car as GWP for Zane Titanium Mech, Trouble on Tatooine, Bonsai tree and Tournament of elements Legacy. 2021 starts well, talking about Lego for the least... Wish you the best, the better for the new year. Hopefully it will be better than 2020. Happy New year to Brickset team and members!

By in United Kingdom,

Both the tie fighter and x wing are on back order.
Unbelievable.
Absolutely unbelievable.

Gravatar
By in Luxembourg,

The email and the listing under my account take some time recently. As long as the website thanked you for your order and gave you an order number you'll be fine. The lantern festival and GWP are ordered. Happy new year everyone :)

By in Norway,

Around 10% price increase in Norway on a lot of sets and no monsters book of monsters in my bag so happy new year to you too Lego :S

I have the same
I assume its just an issue with the order updating on their site- too many of us buying at once
I saw a confirmation screen briefly before everything vanished, so not too concerned

You say that, but all the sets that are available on 1st Jan are already on sale, you could easily assume the GwP for the 1st would be active as well :)

By in Czechia,

So, the new modular is ordered, car is included. No problems with the payment. Took just a bit longer till the order appeared under my account. Now it is showing "in process" so I can go to bed :-)

Just about fell foul of it myself when I noticed the Ice rink was in bag as give with purchase. Stroke of midnight and car was GWP.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yep, got my festival and the ideas car. Every other 2021 set I have on my wishlist can wait until either I need an impulse buy, or another promo comes along where I want to make the threshold.

The £85 threshold for the car isn't terrible, especially as a start of season promo. But in 2020, there were a few promos with too high barriers where I kind of regretted getting other normal sets earlier since they could have made up the numbers.

Serious question from USA folks; is 2021 better than 2020?

Did my order pretty much bang on midnight and was all easy

Although I couldn’t see set 31116 on the site?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Holding out on a couple of HP purchases paid off with double GWP, plus the cheap VIP points vouchers from Black Friday offset the financial pain (very slightly)!!

Happy New Year & new set buying everyone :)

I will let you know when it is midnight eastern time. If I get the Police Station and the promo car without hassle, then we are off to a good start.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Copped the 80107 Spring Lantern Festival and was pleasantly surprised to get the car GWP. Can't wait for them to arrive.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Did mine just after midnight and seemed to work fine - haven’t had email yet but got confirmation number so that’s pretty normal - got 3 of the new HP sets and a BB9 key ring to get me the two GWPs. Happy New Year Lego fans :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is there a que to get into the website and purchase? Pre-planning for purchase here in the US.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ordered some space stuff and Trouble on Tatooine; given the popularity of the Razor Crest I imagine that'll be out of stock for a while before long...

No queue for me: ordered a few minutes past midnight in mainland Europe (so 1hr earlier than UK). Best of luck!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

3 separate orders successfully processed with no glitches for 3 cars. Held off on the Police Station.... Had to save something for future GWPs!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I logged into the Australian site, last night, because I really would like to get that vintage car ... but the Australian order would have to be $170 or something, to qualify for the car. And I just thought, that is not how I'm starting the new year. I'll look for it on eBay in February.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

My list: x3 501st Legion Packs, Trouble on Tatooine, a Friends set for my mother, x2 new Road Plates.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This is a new record for me - I blew my monthly Lego budget 30 minutes in!

I couldn't bear the thought that the bonsai tree would go out of stock and not come back like the Christmas wreath did. And then I wanted Trouble on Tatooine and that was nearly enough for the car so I got a couple more sets to keep them company!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I went for the trifecta with both Chinese New Year sets (had to search for them on Shop at Home to actually find them) and Trouble on Tatooine. My £20 code from Black Friday was still functional so actually used it to upgrade to express delivery to make it almost ‘free’. Seemed like it could help to have the top level delivery to UK in current times.

By in Portugal,

When I see a Brickset post with the title:

"New sets available"

Laughs are guaranteed for sure!
The website just can't take the pressure, sorry guys, the comments kill me lool

Gravatar
By in United States,

I want the car, but I only have amazon gift cards for my $90 order. oof

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So much stuff on back order!
And they use the picture of the new jungle treehouse to promote Creator 3-in-1 sets, when that set doesn't appear at all!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ordered the amazing Mickey Art set and got the free Car and a free Keychain from a VIP point redemption I did back during the Black Friday sales.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It appears North America has to wait until Januar 10 to get the Chinese New Year sets. :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

"an unexpected error occurred, please try again later" yeah thanks Lego it will all be out of stock later

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sooooooo,

Got to the police station. Tried to put it in the cart. Nothing happened. Now have two in the cart. Only need 1. Will not change to 1 and getting a constant "Unexpected Error. Please Try Again" You never learn, do you TLG? I guess technically I am holding two of them until it lets me buy it. Vintage car is there waiting for me to be successful. Reminds me of trying to buy the Saturn V on Day 1.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, surreal experience compared to last time a big new set went on sale. It went live a minute early and I bought the Police Station with zero problem and actually got the ice skating rink along with it! By the way, Spring Lantern and Story of Nian are still listed as coming out on 1/10 in the US.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Pretty pathetic. Web site can't handle the traffic, crashing all over the space. I think LEGO needs to outsource their payment processing to Amazon.

Gravatar
By in United States,

US site won't work. Keep getting "unexpected error please try again." I guarantee those sets will be out of stock the minute the site starts to work again.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thanks Lego for ruining the purchase experience of the Police Station. Site has completely crashed and I can't even add it to my cart. No doubt it will be out of stock by the time I get to it. Glad I stockpiled reward certificates for this.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Geez, site here has crashed, and I’m worried it’ll be out of stock for who knows how long. LEGO really needs to get their act together

Gravatar
By in United States,

"unexpected error"? In what universe are errors on lego.com on a major release day unexpected? If I got through checkout without any errors, that would be unexpected.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Now the cart is empty. The sum of all fears is realized. I will bet there will be a ton of people at the Lego Store tomorrow. The 90% of us who are getting shut out will all go shopping together tomorrow.

Gravatar
By in United Arab Emirates,

How can the error be "unexpected' when it happens every time there is a sale?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Got on right at 12 got the police station in the cart, went to check out with Apple Pay and it crashed out. Now I can’t had anything to my cart. Unexpected error every time. Pretty poor, Lego, pretty poor.

Gravatar
By in United States,

“Unexpected Error”? I think we were all expecting a terrible online purchase experience. At this point I don’t know who to be more frustrated with, TLG or myself for thinking they’ll ever have any initiative to fix their website. It may be time for a new hobby.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wonder how many items will appear in my cart when it finally starts working. After so many attempts I'll probably have 20 of this and 34 of that. %&$! No, I only wanted 1 of each you dingbat. Just work!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Managed to get the police station at 5am, but then found out the Chinese sets are also out today. Unexpected error - surprised they didn't have the queueing system running to cater for the expected overload.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So they aren’t going to brother with the queue system they set up for Black Friday? Did it not work as intended?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Same error message for me - very frustrating!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yes... this is pretty poor for such a large, profitable company. First, the total debacle with their USPS X-Mas shipping arrangement (I'm still waiting on an order that shipped Dec 7th). And, now, as expected, the complete failure in setting up a website that works under load. It's 2020, setting up a system to handle 1000's of transactions a second is now possible with a little effort (and cloud services like AWS make it pretty easy to scale up for large launch events).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

same in uk just tied to place order at 05.15 unexpected error occurred. Why does such a big company always have problems with web site?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Now at the address entry for checkout. Cant get past it without the error message. Considering I will have to get past the address, payment information, and who knows what else, it will be a miracle if I make it to the end. Had a chance to buy it two minutes before midnight, but the car was not available. I did not want the ice rink. I wanted the car. Why do they never learn from their mistakes or do pre order?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've now been logged out of my account and can't log back in.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'd buy these off Amazon but they aren't on there yet. I have to suffer crap like this nearly every time I try to purchase items directly from LEGO's site. Is it worth it? Probably not.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It took me 30 minutes to finally check out & I had to refresh the cart/ secure checkout numerous times before it came back.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

After a 30-minute ordeal, I’m finally offered the opportunity to press the ‘order’ button. But when I do, nothing happens. I must have pressed it 30 times by now. I’m starting to worry I’ll get like 30 Tatooine sets...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finally admitted defeat. No Mandalorian set for me... if I didn't get it tonight I wasn't going to be able to until June

Gravatar
By in United States,

Also, what's with the Batman Accessory pack saying "available January 1st, 2021" but not being available at all?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Disappointing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They honestly should have done this Jan 2 or something. Not the day most people are awake until midnight.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Hey @huw, as a LEGO fan media site, why not grill LEGO on their e-commerce platform. This keeps happening again and again, and should have been addressed long ago.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ha good luck in the US. got all the way to my credit card and then the system crashed.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

They had a queuing system for Black Friday, I have no idea why they wouldn't do one the day all the new sets come out.

I’m actually going backward. I have to confirm my address again... LEGO, only the best is good enough!

Gravatar
By in United States,

On the 283rd try I got to the processing screen with the minifig heads. Then it failed. I’m not trying to 284 times. I’m done.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finally got into my cart, but now it won't let me save my ZIP to calculate shipping. What a pathetic mess. This is one of the largest toy companies in the world. There's NO excuse for this.

I've been trying to place an order for nearly an HOUR now and I can't even get to the payment screen. I'm never buying from LEGO's site again.

Gravatar
By in United States,

yeah, I thought "Only the best is good enough" Glad to see I'm not the only one with issues placing orders and I'm in the states.

Jeez! I really wanted to get the new releases. I mean you'd think that considering nearly ALL of their online items were or have been "out of stock" they'd have planned for this!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Gee, what could possibly go wrong with a ton of new merchandise all going on sale at the same time on an ecommerce site that is notoriously shoddy (at best)?!?? One would think TLG would have learned by now to either space things out or use a more robust ecommerce platform. [facepalm]

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lego's New Years resolution should be to fire their IT department and start over. Not a good business model when you can't even add items to the cart without getting an error. They really need to invest in auto-scaling and auto-remediation. Come on Lego. I wanna give you my money!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am so sorry to everyone who LEGO forced to give up tonight. This willful ignorance of their traffic levels is absurdly unacceptable, and just makes them look lazy and unprepared, not a look we want

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I’m giving up.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hmm. Just like quite a few others have said, it won't let me add anything to the cart, even though it says it's available.

Edit: Now I have 3 Senna GTRs in the cart and can't reduce the quantity.

Edit: Now it's working... sort of. I can add things to the cart, then it gives me an error message, then 2 minutes later I go to the cart, and the thing shows up in the cart.

Edit: Now I'm not sure what's going on.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The bonsai tree and flower bouquet are available on Amazon (in the uk at least) with Delivery Sunday. No GWP of course.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lego = failure in 2020. Oh wait its 2021... nothing's changed.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This must be TLG's new way of limiting sales :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m not sure anyone has been able to place an order in the US. It’s ridiculous. I was happy I finally made it all the way through check out after an hour of trying and then I received an invalid credit card notification. Cart content erased. I quit.

Edit: Just pre-ordered Trouble on Tatooine from Amazon in 30 seconds. Sorry LEGO I won’t be needing the $100 additional items I was trying for an hour to purchase off your site.

Only 1 out of 3 of my confirmation emails have arrived, but I've found that is often the case, especially with multiple orders. The only reliable check is under 'my orders' on the web site.

I agree with this, is there some way we can voice a collective issue with the website so they take it seriously versus just a bunch of individual customer service email as?

Gravatar

Bought the sets I wanted off Amazon no issue. Free shipping, 2 day Prime delivery, and I got to apply a $30 gift card.

Go buy there. Stop wasting time on LEGO's broken website.

Gravatar
By in United States,

1 HOUR and 20 min. to complete purchase of one Police Station. What an ordeal... no my wife is disappointed with me 'cause I missed the NYD count-down. Oh well. Hope I get an email saying that my order was accepted.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I tried to think of it like a video game. Took me about 15 minutes to get the HP Astronomy Tower in my cart. Tried to keep it simple at only one item. First level completed! Ten minutes later, I got my address and contact info in there. Then I hit one of the big bosses- payment info. That one took awhile and I got kicked out plenty of times, but I kept going back in there cause I had lots of lives, and finally I thought I met the big boss and won when I saw that my order was getting processed! But no, all those flashing minifig heads were the big boss and they couldn't process my payment at that time! It was a crushing defeat after an hour and 15 minutes of game time. The GWP went live at 1 am Atlantic time, so I it's 2:20 now and I'm giving up. The Tower is still in my bag, but the cost is coming up at $0.00 and if they wouldn't let me pay for in the last 75 minutes, I don't think they are gonna just send it to me for nothing. Cheers, everyone, happy new year!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Perhaps Lego will consider using all this revenue to invest in a better web development team so their site doesn't crash every time more than a few dozen people get on at once.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Stuck on the blue bar that says "Continue to Payment". But suppose I do make it to the next screen, enter the debit card info and get the error message again? How do I really know that the order did or did not go through? I can only afford one Police Station. So I guess this will be it for me tonight. A few months ago, I had saved 350 plus tax for the Mos Eisley Cantina. Unfortunately, I did not make it to the store or online in time to get one of the 10 they apparently had available in North America. And now this. That is $550 of my money Lego is now leaving on the table. Get a better business model. Seriously.

11 hours since I ordered (7:30 am - Syd) and still no email or sign of my order on my LEGO.com account. Big chunk of change missing from my savings account though! That's what the T&Cs say, but it's never applied. I think they may limit in stores but I've never had it online. (Just added an order and got a 4th!)

Got it quickly and easy (I had already spent over 1.5h) after the site reboot! My 6yo will have great news in the morning to kickstart 2021!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Was pleasantly surprised at how blissfully pain free my orders went through tonight.

Of course, for us in the UK, the fun now starts, with a good chance of the sets being stuck in queues of lorries at Dover for days or weeks!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

My bank balance just took a hit. No problems so far on the site, although Spring Lantern Festival is now on back order, ships in 60 days. Just as well this is for my birthday, although that set is due to come after now, so I should have dragged myself out of bed earlier.

Everything else was available and no problems when I ordered the police station. Do they ship stuff separately when something is on backorder in your multiple purchase?

At least this was better value than one set, getting five for less than the collosseum today.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Gave it a few hours and still couldn't purchase via my computer, but I tried via my phone and it finally went through! So frustrating. Hope everyone else can get their purchases through as well.

Just about fell foul of it myself when I noticed the Ice rink was in bag as give with purchase. Stroke of midnight and car was GWP.

I noticed that, so left it till 00:05, and refreshed my order, paid and completed. The online basket/receipt showed the car as GWP, as does my Paypal confirmation email, yet the confirmation received from Lego which states ".... your order placed on 01-1-2021" shows the ice rink as GWP.

Will have to contact Customer Services on Monday when they're back :("

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Didn't expect to be able to get the ice rink GWP, so when I say that the new releases were available to order before midnight , I ordered the Police station and got the ice rink. Then ordered the bonsai and flowers after midnight and got the car GWP. Two GWPs!

All went smoothly, no problems. Sorry for those who had problems with the website. Now got to wait. Hopefully deliveries to the UK won't be delayed too long.

That's what the T&Cs say, but it's never applied. I think they may limit in stores but I've never had it online. (Just added an order and got a 4th!)"

Interesting thanks for that. Might try another order. :) :)

Wow, I'm shocked... this is rapidly going from one of the worst ordering experiences to one of the better ones...just moved to "In Warehouse" status for all my items in about 2 hours, on a holiday. :D

What a cluster****...

Tried placing an order at 11pm CST and madness ensued so I went to sleep. I just woke up and was able to get the police station and Tuk Tuk. Hopefully the vintage car doesn't get cancelled on me...

Gaming consoles, Funko, LEGO...they never have their s*** together on major releases...

Back to sleep

By in Italy,

No problems at all here in Italy, very fast process with VIP points redeemed, 2 separate orders, 2 different addresses, but only one email arrived until now.
75980 Attack on the Burrow with the car and the monster Book (backorder, will ship in 60 days...)
10280 + 80107 Spring Lantern + car (should ship immediately).

I wa surprised to see most prices higher than announced on brickset the last few days... Flower bouqet and bonsai at 60 eur, not 50. The latern festival at 109, not 99, and so on...

By in United Kingdom,

I'm not ordering off amazon as it means no vip points and they have a bad rep with me at the moment. Stole a piece of fanfic for Kindle which took awhile to get off the site and a lot my Xmas presents were not in immaculate condition. They also changed a dvd preorder of show to 2022 which is due on sky in Jan and refused to explain why. I even had to post a link to their own site to show that they had. And I'm not allowed to review at the moment. Funny that.

For those of us in UK Tier 3, there’s the option of the Lego brand store. I’m in a queue of about 30 people outside the Lego store in Leeds. The rest of the city centre is deserted (it’s a cold and rainy start to the New Year here). Let’s hope they have 80107 in stock when I get to the front of the queue! Happy New Year to all Brickset users.

Ordered a Flower Bouquet for partner, the Bonsai Tree for myself and got a free Vintage Car and VIP Keyring (for VIP points). Not a bad order and I had no problems with the website from the UK at 11am.

I got both, ordered police station, and flower bouquets at 11.50, got the ice rink, then ordered spring lantern festival and 2 bonsai at 12.02, and got the car. Delighted to have the ice rink, as I thought I had missed out on that, as there was nothing on the site I wanted to order in Decemeber. Both orders are showing as "in warehouse" now.

I bought the new modular after midnight, but I think I should have sobered up first. Traded VIP points for phone order only and made the purchase online. Hope I can redeem them. Soon the new modular will be mine though! It will make a fine addition to my collection together with that nice looking free gift with purchase car.

By in United States,

I just placed my order after not being able to place it at midnight last night because the site kept crashing. I ordered the police station, which was available, the bonsai and flowers, which were available, and I ordered the 4 Harry Potter books that were on backorder until Jan. 21. At least LEGO let me order the books. The other 12 items I have on my wish list are still temporarily out of stock. Hopefully I will get my GWP for the backordered sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

In the U.S., I have placed multiple orders on the same day for the GWP and get them every time. I think one day LEGO will limit you, but right now their computers are not set up to do that. If you read the fine print on the GWP, it says one per household but LEGO will ship you as many as you want as long as you spend the money.

Gravatar

I ordered and got the car and monster book as gwp but after an hour the monster book dissapeared from my orderlist. Just have to wait and see I guess.

coming back to it 7 hours later, managed to secure the new release items I wanted, but the 75267 Mandalorian Battle Pack is "Backorders Accepted, will ship in 60 days" while earlier it was "Available Now." Guess I wasn't the only one who took the opportunity to get it

Thanks. I was really lucky and got the last one of 80107 they had in stock in Leeds today. The guy managing the queue said 80107 had been really popular today, much more so than 80106. The Police Station modular was also selling in big numbers this morning, but they seemed to have plenty in stock. Hope you got everything you needed!

Yeah, well i've seen January 10th elsewhere for the release date, like Amazon.ca does have the 80106 in Pre-order for a Jan. 10th release...maybe Lego Shop made an error on their product page....

After giving up last night was able to get up and order the police station with GWP of car. Then saw Lego is taking backorders for Colosseum. Ordered that and got another car GWP and the mini fig chariot GWP from last year also popped in.

Went to local Target and they were unboxing the 2021 sets and I nabbed the Bonsai tree

By in United States,

Last year, we got to the Lego Store a little over an hour before it opened and were first in line. We got there at the same time this year, and 10 people were already lined up. It must have been 40-50 when the store opened. 10 were allowed in at a time. As I would imagine, Star Wars and the Police Station were heavily targeted. We got both the ice rink and the car as GWP at checkout. My son just built the car and likes it very much. I ordered the Police Station online later this AM, so will look forward to building the car hopefully in a few days.

Bought the Police Station and 75980. Out of much other sets who are out of stock, Attack on the Burrow is now back order in Canada. Police Station is already back ordered! As for 80107, one explanation could be that on my command the date is 31 December. So maybe tomorrow or the fourth, the set will be available. Just my hypothesis.

I made a purchase for 3 of the new HP moments books at 11:30PM PST on the 31st (so very early considering all the craps we had from Lego website) and received this morning an “out of stock, we will ship later” email. Hope the Vintage Car and the Book of Monsters will still be there when they restock.

Good luck everybody on your order!

I’m afraid I’m in the same boat! I fought the website for an hour+ when the new sets went live, sat through the downtime when they went offline to fix it, and placed several orders immediately after the site came back up and finally let us complete our purchases. I ordered the Police Station, Bonsai, Bouquet, Hogwarts Crest, and all 4 Hogwarts “Moments” sets, right around 11:30 PM PST, and all of them showed “Available Now” status.

This morning I received an email notifying me that the Police Station was changed to “backordered”, and this afternoon I received another email notifying me of the same for the Hogwarts “Moments” sets. ...WTF?

I even went to the extreme of selecting Express Shipping for the Police Station... Does that mean that my set will be sent “Expressly” on or after the 21st when it’s supposed to be in stock again? I’ll be on the phone on Monday, better believe it.

By in United States,

I kept waiting for the new Batman set to come online (still wasn't, as of 11:20am Eastern on January 2nd), and finally gave up and started hunting around for other stuff I could use to pad the difference from a Bonsai set. Then I started getting lots of red error banners every time I tried to do something (but sometimes it would do it anyways), and my cart would randomly present as empty (even when it wasn't). My modem crashed, and took a few minutes to reboot. Then I finally found one thing that I could add to my order to qualify for the car...and the site went down for updates. Eventually it came back up, and I was able to place an order (got a Bonsai, and the car), but that was about 2:30am!

Later that evening, I read that the HP mosaic wasn't triggering the Monster Book of Monsters. This afternoon I called to let them know, and found out the Burrow was now available for backorder. That's the only HP set I wanted to buy to get the book, but I didn't jump on it right away, and by the time I got an order ready to go, the car had sold out. The MBoM is still showing up (just not with the mosaic, but they promised they'd get that fixed soon...which might only matter because the Hogwarts Moments sets are all out of stock for the time being, and there probably aren't many people qualifying for the MBoM right now)

@Isabella_and_Lego_Liker:
Nah. If you didn't buy everything up immediately on release (or if you don't mind getting extra copies for parts and minifigs), 75966, 40419, and 75967 are still available for immediate purchase, and will get you about $10 away from MBoM. Throw in another copy of the student pack for the different House outfits, and you're golden. Of if you don't mind waiting for part of your order to ship, there are several sets that are now on backorder that weren't 48 hours ago. I'd just suggest tacking on at least one Available item to force the early shipment for the GWP, rather than taking any chances with any issues that may arise before they ship your backordered items. If it was some random polybag that you weren't actively chasing, that's different, but the MBoM and 50's car are very popular and aren't likely to just show up at retail in the future.

It was announced on Dec 12th via email to winners, I understand. I am extremely disappointed and a lot poorer, unfortunately.

In other news, all items are in the warehouse, bar the lantern festival which will now ship Jan 21st, which is much better.

Now just waiting for the Ninjago and Blacksmith sets. After this I'm hoping Lego will do what it did last year and have sets I can do without until December so my bank account can recover.

By in Ireland,

The vintage car design and colour are fab. Would go lovely with my Downtown Diner set. Ordered the vintage car with the Spring Lantern Festival which was available when I placed my order. Received order confirmation at 1.42 am on 01/01/21. Order was "in process" for 4 days, now my order has been changed to "backorder". No idea if and when I will get either of the sets as they have sold out in the meantime. I have not received any communication from Lego. I feel tricked.

I will be so upset if I don't get the vintage car because It's such a nice set. Would buy it elsewhere if I could get it for a normal price. Any ideas?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@EEM:
Orders are taking longer than normal to process, probably due to a combination of staffing (if there are restrictions on how many people can be in the building at any given time, it will reduce the speed at which they can work, and eliminate the possibility of bringing in seasonal staffing to help boost productivity) and transportation (FedEx is their prime shipper in the US, but has placed a cap on how many packages they'll accept each day, while USPS has at least a month of backlog that makes it more efficient to simply delay shipment via FedEx).

In the meantime, you can always call their service number and ask for an update on what to expect. You might even be able to request that they ship the GWP separately to guarantee you don't miss out. If all else fails, they're currently only running about $20 on Bricklink.

@kacie:
My Black Friday order wasn't received by USPS until December 21st (FedEx had capped how many packages they'd accept, and it didn't make the cut). On Christmas, it hit the Detroit Regional Sorting Facility. The next day it got sent to the wrong local Post Office, which sent it back to Detroit on the 14th. Yesterday, I was sitting down to eat lunch at work and checked the status, only to find out it had been delivered an hour earlier. Outside it was snowing. Before work, I'd checked my weather app and saw it was supposed to get a mix of rain and snow _all_day_long_. Fortunately, after four calls to three numbers, I was able to reach my parents and ask if one of them could swing by and rescue the box.

I still have to go retrieve it from them, but as of now, I have received all four of my post-Thanksgiving orders except for the one backordered HP set I used to qualify for the MBoM. Black Friday arrived yesterday, Dec1 and Jan1 both arrived within hours of each other on Jan5, and the MBoM portion of my Jan2 order showed up on Jan10.
