Winnie the Pooh Ideas set revealed!
Posted by Huw,
Benlouisa's Winnie the Pooh project on LEGO Ideas was submitted in the spring of 2019 and attracted the required 10,000 supporters by August of that year. It passed review in February 2020 and now, one year later, it's about the hit the shelves. Here's the press release:
21326 Winnie the Pooh, 1265 pieces, 18+
€99.99 / £89.99 / $99.99 / AU$159.99/CA$139.99
Available to VIPs at LEGO.com from 18th March.
Today, LEGO is inviting Winnie the Pooh fans to embrace nostalgia and return to the picturesque Hundred Acre Wood with its new LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh set - based on original designs by LEGO builder and superfan Ben Alder. Beneath a large oak tree, complete with beehives and bees, Pooh’s house takes centre stage. The house can be opened up to unveil a whole host of furniture and unique items, such as the “Pooh-coo” Clock, box of “Pooh sticks”, Tigger’s locket, and of course, plenty of honey pots – both full and empty!
A. A. Milne’s wonderful tales of Christopher Robin’s adventures have amazed readers of all ages for almost a century and have become even more memorable thanks to the television and film adaptations that have truly brought the characters’ world to life.
LEGO superfan Ben Alder originally submitted the concept to LEGO Ideas; a LEGO initiative that takes new ideas that have been imagined and voted for by fans and turns them into reality. Based on Ben’s original designs, the set is the perfect project for adult builders to take time to relax and return to the halcyon days of youth, recalling the adventures of their favourite bear and his friends.
Discussing the design, Ben Alder commented “I love Winnie the Pooh and remember my parents reading it to me as a child. I now read the same Winnie the Pooh stories to my children, so it is certainly something dear to my heart. I decided to make the set so that my children could bring to life our bedtime stories but never quite expected the positive reaction it has received.”
The new set also includes five new moulded characters, each with their own accessories. Pooh himself has his red balloon to collect honey from the bees in the branches above, Piglet is wrapped up in his scarf, and Tigger has just moved to the woods with his sack on a stick. Meanwhile, Rabbit has carrots ready for snacking, and Eeyore comes complete with his tail and a removable ribbon.
Other notable inclusions to the set include; a campfire and log for Pooh to think about the things that he discovers, his front door complete with “Mr. Sanders” sign above it, his adorable blue bell to ring the front door, and finally, a signpost to the Hundred Acre Wood to make sure Pooh finds his way home.
Federico Begher, VP of Global Marketing at The LEGO Group commented, “Winnie the Pooh is a 95-year-old story that is loved globally, so seeing Ben’s design sparked a lot of nostalgia for us all. Plus, his personal story about how he created the set for his family to play out the lovely Winnie the Pooh stories using LEGO bricks felt like a beautiful combination of family, LEGO bricks, and Winnie the Pooh that we wanted to share with others.
We also had the rare treat of being able to create all new characters for this LEGO Ideas set. We simply had to see how the line-up of Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit and Piglet would look like in mini figure shape. As well as creating a brand-new Eeyore figure!
The stories of the Hundred Acre Wood come to life with this set and there are plenty of intricate details for fans of both Disney and LEGO to discover.”
The LEGO Ideas platform is a LEGO initiative that takes new ideas that have been imagined and voted for by fans and turns them into reality. The LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh set is available directly from LEGO Stores and LEGO.com from 18th March, 2021 for LEGO VIP members, and 1st April 2021 for all.
You'll find more images on the set details page.
The set looks to be very faithful to the original submission, below. It's been enhanced considerably through the use of new pieces and modern building techniques, but the basic structure and feel of the set have been preserved.
Let us know what you think of it in the comments, and in particular whether you think it's sensible or right to rate a set based on a kids' book and cartoon 18+.

I think that's a decent trade for 5 new molds
This set looks delightful. It is cheery and light in all the right ways. Price seems a touch steep just looking at it (haven’t looked at piece count)
What a beautiful set.
Now we need a Lego Ratatouille set!
This looks beautiful! A decent bit of improvement over the original project, the colors are excellent
Might be a day one buy, absolutely LOVE this set - defo a set to add to the ever expanding list of greatest 2021 sets XD.
£90 for it is a great price considering new moulds for al the characters heads and the Eeyore piece.
This is something I'll love too get.
This is a fantastic price for all the exclusive moulds.
The green coral pieces as leaves are genius
this is really cool!
first reaction is WOW! it looks great and the price looks reasonable, Good job Lego!
Love it!! m1d1 buy for me. Personally think they have taken the original submission and enhanced and made it better.
They've done a really good job with this one, it looks perfect. Of all the small things, I'm most impressed by how the stove pipe has a continuous path through the roof, unlike the pillar supporting the roof of the Blacksmith Shop that doesn't continue through the other two floors. The new head molds look great too. I have many more childhood memories of Pooh than of Sesame Street, so I'm much more likely to get this one than that one. But will I? I dunno ... So many good sets, so little wallet.
This turned out better than I could possibly imagine. Definitely a Day 1 buy!!
Well this is an ideas set where I don't think many people will be claiming the original submission was better. Shows what Lego can do and I think there are a few past ideas sets that could have really benefitted from this kind of care.
Never cared for Winnie the Pooh, so I can't give an honest opinion regarding comparisons to the source material, and also won't be buying it (not for myself anyway). However, I think this set is really nice, not bad for £90 especially with such cool miniigures, a good looking build with lots of great detail, and I have to say way better than the original design.
What, no Owl or Kanga/Roo? (Maybe in an eventual Disney CMF series 3....)
Love it! But... The more I looked inside the more Kanga, Roo, Owl, and Christopher weren’t there...
Maybe some CMF?
First thing I noticed was stickers, but it looks beautiful and there shouldn't be any complaints over the final version this time.
Looks good but why did Lego put this as 18+ ???
I grew up watching Winnie the Pooh. Day 1 purchase.
IMHO Piglet is too big compared with Pooh
Well it's been a while since TLG improved on an idea submission. Looks good to me.
Great-looking set, horrific price tag considering the size of the build :( I really don't think all the new moulds make up for it by any stretch.
My mom is a BIG fan of tigers. She will definitely want this set!
The tree looks REALLY messy, sad because the rest and figs look great!
Love the use of GREEN coral pieces!
Man, there is so much detail. I love all of the minifigures, I'm picking this up the 18th (VIP).
I actually really like this, lots of fond memories of Pooh on VHS too. Even has a good amount of usuful parts - added to my wanted list for sure.
NGL, Tigger with the old NBA spring legs would have been cool though. Lol
I’m eager to read the official ad copy for this set.
“In today’s stressful world, more than ever ADULTS need something to unwind. This Winnie the Pooh set is the perfect nostalgic trip for ADULTS to relax like ADULTS while they build the set for ADULTS while sipping tea, listening to a soothing NPR podcast, and popping a Xanax to get a break from their ADULT life spent being an ADULT who needs ADULT relaxation.
Adults.”
Jokes aside, the set looks GREAT!

I like the idea of a CMF, but I honestly don't know if there are enough characters for a CMF... Unless they did different versions of each character.
I absolutely love it!!! Look forward building it with my children...
oh... it is 18+?
Why don't they market this for kids?
Adults could still buy it too.
I'm in. As has been said its the kind of thing that most Adults remember, and if those Adults have kids the kids are familiar with it. Another expense I didn't know I had.
It’s only 18+ because Pooh has no pants on. ;)
My wife wants this, so we’ll be getting it for sure. We’ll build it with our toddler and openly mock the ridiculous 18+ classification. Look, Lego...I get that you want to convince more adults that it’s okay to build Lego sets. This ain’t it.
This set looks great!

Hardly any. And come on the new Porsche had 0!
I can confirm, it's a beautiful, beautiful set!
Yeah, I take (nearly) all of it back. Still prefer original Pooh (last time I say that, I promise!), but this is just a really lovely set. It is a shame that there's no Owl, Kanga, Roo or CR, but the set itself is fantastic. I am now 100% sold on the set and will be buying it.
Now, where's my Humble Pie? ;-)
Love this one very much.
I immediately got flashbacks from my childhood, from reading the books and watching the movies.
Of course there are some missing characters, but the main ones are there.
LEGO has done a great job, by making a compact affordable set that includes everything you would like to see.
I think I’m just a sucker for Lego trees. Looks really nice. The price is unsurprising high, given the Lego tax + the Disney tax and new moulds.
Looks very cute actually. My wife's always had a softspot for Winnie the Pooh, so maybe a fine gift for her birthday?
I absolutely love it. It's a beautiful set, the minifigs are fantastic (they look MUCH better than some of the leaks did...) and the price is great. This is absolutely a day 1 purchase for me.
This is an amazing set! I love the characters, but this, like Sesame Street, shouldn't be 18+
Abso-freaking-lutely adorable. Dangit! Which "Must Have" set is going to get bumped from my "Want List" to make room (budget) for this? Good thing I haven't spent much bday $ yet...
A great example of how Lego can improve the original idea, definitely getting this one.
That Tigger minifigure is awesome, I'm so glad they replaced the brick built characters from the original submission with these new moulds, much better in my opinion.

Yeah but Ideas has been a sacred territory untouched by stickers. My whole world is collpasing now! What next? Cardboard CMF boxes? Oh wait...
Didn't expect to like this but it looks amazing.
Overall looks genuinely lovely and something I’ll almost certainly end up buying for my son’s room (even if I feel the E.H Shepard character designs from the book are a lot more charming).
That being said, while most of the figures look great, I maintain that Pooh looks all kinds of wrong with the proportions. I still think medium legs would have worked better; someone in the previous comment section also suggested something akin to a fat suit. Maybe a mod of the latest life jacket accessory is the closest we’re likely to get?

Uh lots of Ideas sets have had stickers haha. Friends, Voltron, Sesame Street and I'm sure there are more
Loving the printed 1x1 round bee tiles.
This set has wildly surpassed my expectations, it's completely adorable! Worth the price for the minifigures alone, and the house has some really sweet touches. Day one purchase for me :)
Lovely!
It's a good set. Lovely improvement on the original design, it looks bright and cheerful, like most of the characters are supposed to be.
I won't be buying it, but its pleasing to look at all the same.
I am not a Pooh fan but this set is absolutely amazing.
The new head molds are interesting, I hope they find smaller sets to put them in e.g. bridge with pooh sticks, to allow a younger audience to be able to afford to purchase. The opening of Pooh's house is an improvement and the tree looks fantastic, although owl was in the original tree. As for the books I wish that they would correct all the spellings to stop young kids copying incorrectly.
Absolutely love the set!
Hmmm, guess they won't be selling this in China !
OK, one more Disney IP, but look like those minifigs are cute! Il like this set!
This seems to be along exactly the same lines as the Sesame Street set. Beloved children's IP turned into a great 1300 piece adult-oriented build with stickers in exchange for a bunch of new molds for the minifigures... except in this case the build is complete, looks good from all angles, and is a distinct improvement over the original submission. Good work! I continue to be puzzled by the 18+ branding but that's a very minor aspect of a very nice set.
oh no, i'm tempted D :
looks very nice, and yeah the 18+ is weird but maybe thanks to that no play features but nice display piece.
Change the figurines and few small details and it can even work as some witch house in medieval fantasy setting? very nice, needs more lego funds X"D
I find the addition of the 'sketched' background interesting. Seems like someone at TLG has finally realised how sterile the all black backgrounds actually are. Imagine how glorious the box art would look in the traditional LEGO style...
Well, you can tell from my name, that I will be getting this set for the Mr Sanders sign....! :-) Looks great, although in Switzerland, it is expensive - not sure how they got to 129 CHF from $99/99 Euros. Sometimes the pricing baffles me!
I get that lego like to put age ratings on building sets (not that I entirely agree) but 18+ has the connotation of x-rated... and as of thus was poor choice of branding/ age rating. I mean 18+ Winnie the Pooh sounds like a cringe inducing comedy sketch.
The set itself here looks lovely though.
Ideas continues to deliver! By far the best theme for minifig sets at the moment, so much love and detail yet again. :)
The first Disney set I'm interested in! Not bothered about the stickers, it's a fair trade for the new molds....
Honestly, I absolutely love it. (I just wish I could afford it.)
Price is a bit high but WOW. I skipped sesame street but this is GREAT
I find it bizarre and frankly pretty tragic in marketing terms that sets like this, and Sesame Street, are branded as 18+. Of course adults can enjoy these sets, but what exactly about this is not suitable for a child?
Beautiful!
I can't believe there are 1265 pieces in this little set. How many 1x1 tiles, plates, and flowers can we cram into a single house? Are there 500 leaves in that tree?
I would have liked Pooh to have a sandwich-board style mould to make his belly fatter, and maybe medium legs too. For scale I would have preferred a full specialised mould for piglet as he should be smaller, but I'm ok with how it came out. Rabbit and Tigger scale pretty well as they are.
Would have probably liked a Christopher Robin minifig too as that would have been easy to do. I guess he wouldn't have scaled well with the others though.
And again: €10 more in The Netherlands and Belgium. Why Lego, why?
I wish the box art wasn't black. It's clearly not an adult-themed set (apart from the nostalgia factor) and it would have looked much better on a white background to emulate the way the book illustrations and the look of the 1977 movie.
Not a set that I will buy but a very nice set like the Sesame Street one!!
Well done lego, nice colours and great minifigs too..
I care nothing about Winnie the Pooh... but this build looks great!
Anybody who choses the "it doesn't interest me" option will get kicked off this page.
It is wonderful! Congratulations to both the fan designer and the Lego designer. Fabulous work!
Looks fun, but this has cemented my hatred of the blank all-black 18+ box-art. Also, why is this set 18+ at all? I will never understand some of their decisions...
+18 for Winnie the P :D
Miss the individual ideas packaging
The set looks great! I've never been a fan of Pooh, but I've been called Eeyore my whole life because of my sunny disposition.
They did a great job with the set though. I will definitely pick it up eventually. Rarely is a set a day 1 purchase anyway. And the price seems pretty solid for 5 new characters and over 1000 pieces.
I don't understand 18+ rating. I guess my kid can't enjoy this set.
It looks great, however I can't get over the price markups in Canada compared to the US lately.

Its lockdown lard. He will shed some weight when he's allowed back out in hundred acre wood.

Right here: https://brickset.com/minifigs/sw0812/obi-wan-kenobi-(young-printed-legs-without-cape)
In that first render, i.e. front of the box, it looked as if Tigger's torso used a sticker as well, like some of the very first minifigs in the late Seventies. Thankfully in the other images it looks just like a normal printed one.
Anyway, quite a nice set, although a bit expensive. But after a while it'll get discounted just like all the others. Then I think I will get this, definitely not in a hurry.

Not sure it works like that. Sure printing is slightly more expensive, but not that expensive.
Winnie is uhhh... uncomfortably thin... I wonder if he’d have benefited from medium legs and a sandwich board type belly/head (meaning I know he would have benefited from it)
Both Sesame Street and Winnie the Pooh were very important franchises to me as a child, and so I want to get my hands on both of them someday. Right now there are other LEGO sets that are eating up my budget, but hopefully I'll get these beauties before they're gone for good.

D'oh. I look pretty stupid now! Last time I attempt to complain!!
Shame about the stickers and 18+ branding but the pros definitely outweigh the cons here, this thing sparks joy for me.

30€ more in Finland, consider yourself lucky
Drat ... I thought this was Rabbit's house and fans could re-create the famous story of Pooh getting himself lodged in the front door and being stuck for days. Then we could use the Lego fire and police sets to help get Pooh unstuck!
In any case, it looks darling and I hope it sells well!
Man this is a set that will not be seen in China.
It looks very nice! I especially like the way Pooh's house opens up. I'm also surprised at how good Tigger looks in minifig form.
I have a newly acquired Beekeeper telling me I need to order 100+ of that new trans-clear bee tile.
So...they can create an Eeyore but not a Dino for Flintstones?
Um...
@Lordmoral said:
"Man this is a set that will not be seen in China."
Why? They even bundled exclusive minifig of chinese emperor.
It looks nice, maybe the price could have been cut back a little if the tree wasn't as eleborate but oh well.. it's really cute and stays very close to the submission. Well done.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I am not a fan of how the minifigures look. Aside from Tigger, which looks alright, something about them just looks... really off putting to me. In particular, Winnie and Rabbit's head molds look kind of awkward.
The minifigures are the big draw for me. I think they're wonderful but I don't want to buy a $100 set for them. Hopefully they will be re-released in another Disney CMF set or less expensive sets some time since it's unlikely they would only use these new molds once.
@Lordmoral:
I’m sure you could mail one to the Chinese government if you really want to...
@blogzilly:
When Flintstones was produced, they were restricted from making new molds for Ideas sets, apparently even to the point that they couldn’t replace worn-out molds that had reached the end of their service life. When Sesame Street came out, they announced that they now _can_ make new molds, but it’s entirely at their discretion. If you get a project to 10k in the hopes of seeing a choice new mold, they could still find an alternate solution that skips that part.
That price though. Let's be honest, the build would be costing 60-80 tops if it wasn't Winnie the Pooh. Not 100!!!!
And yeah, I still heavily dislike the black boxart. It's WINNIE THE POOH. How this does NOT just feature regular set boxart with beautiful 2d artwork is beyond me. Nothing says Winnie the Pooh like a black void.
On the positive side, I like the inclusion of SOME artwork in the background. That's a step in the right direction.
And the build looks quite well-done. Not 100 EURO well done, but well done nonetheless. I'm happy for the person that had their submission turned into this build :)
Oh, and one more thing... Pooh features yellow printing on a red torso. Let's see how the minifig turns out with Lego's current (ca 2017-present) printing issues...
Day one.
Everything got brightened up...except for Eyor :(
Nice one. Shout out to the originator, and big ups to the follow up!

While those may be their reasons, it’s foolish overall. There are plenty of other sets out there that aren’t 18+ that are more expensive and take longer to build. Sesame Street, and now apparently this, don’t belong under that 18+ category at all. Sesame Street had no advanced or challenging techniques that I remember, not compared to other sets on the market. The price wasn’t outrageous for being Lego, and it took the same time as any other Lego set of the same size. Winnie the Pooh here seems to be the same.
Yes, it’s easy enough to ignore the 18+. But still, it’s a very questionable category and frankly confusing. People don’t need a label to be told a set is expensive or has a lot of pieces.
As tigger would say...

It's about $13 cad difference after conversion. Not saying that not every dollar counts, moreover during this year, but it's not *that* big of a difference. With some sets it was cheaper here than in the US, so it's not always like that.

These are not for kids*. A Duplo set and "Junior" for this and Sesame Street would be more appropriate for the age group as a play set. These two are aimed for AFOLs who saw these as kids and see it as a nice display set. I don't think either of these were designed as play sets, even if they have some play features.
* It's Lego, so of course all ages can build what they wish, speaking from design choice.
Very nice set! I was wondering what would come, but this seems too tempting to resist.
The more I look at this, the better it seems. Great minifigs, lots of nice features, some pretty cool building and a great range of colours. I even think the price looks pretty decent for the overall package, certainly not over-priced.
I just want to say to anyone here who creates or has submitted an ideas set that a few more Ghostbusters, flinstones and Stranger Things sets would be nice and some more Hanna Barbra Themes would be great, like Wacky Races, yogi bear, Secret Squirrel, batfink etc...

I like the idea of a CMF, but I honestly don't know if there are enough characters for a CMF... Unless they did different versions of each character."
I could see a couple being included in the next Disney CMF series. I'm honestly surprised we didn't get Pooh in the first two series.
Any set with a big brick build tree is welcome. Looks better than I thought and one of few Disney sets that I like.
Wasn't at all interested in this, but I really like it! My wife really has a thing for Pooh bear, so might have to get her this! Wink wink....
I didn't think I'd want this and the reveal has confirmed it. Not that it isn't done well, I really like the tree foliage and the little toadstools, but I'm not that keen on the Disney versions of the characters and I don't particularly go for licenced themes. For all the people who'd buy this just for figures, I'd have the tree and house without them!
Eeyore is adorable but I'm not sure about Pooh. His head isn't quite there for me and neither is his torso. He's just not quite bear shaped enough, I think. I agree with those saying medium legs would have been better.
Glad for those who love it though, it sounds like it'll be popular. I'm pleased not to have another expensive set for my wishlist!
piglet is way too big and pooh is way too thin - but it's still a definite buy for me :)
I would have loved seeing Pooh with a more round-shape torso, like the one used for Bombur the dwarf from The Hobbit series. Apart from that, I think it is a delightful set.
I have no idea what is meant by "Pooh sticks." It sounds like an uncomfortable alternative to toilet paper. Strange I don't ever remember the term being used yet immediately got the reference of the locket to the Tigger Movie. Speaking of sticks, it was a missed opportunity to include Eeyore's stick house, could be done in about 20 pieces.
It's so ironic how this and Sesame Street are 18+ yet sets brimming with realistic guns based on violent Star Wars and Marvel blockbusters are marketed straight to kids.
$100 is ridiculous, even with the piece count. It looks like the size of a $50 set. Where did all the pieces go?
@Norikins said:
"I have no idea what is meant by "Pooh sticks." It sounds like an uncomfortable alternative to toilet paper."
It refers to a game played by Pooh and his friends. You and your friends get a bunch of sticks, drop them off a bridge on the upstream side, then turn around and see which one comes out first on the downstream side.
^^ LMGTFY: https://www.google.com/search?q=Pooh+sticks&oq=Pooh+sticks&aqs=chrome..69i57.691j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
The bridge on which AA Milne and his son first played the game is close to where myself and CapnRex101 lived and we've both played it there, me with my daughters, Capn' with his dad.
Oh, I remember now!
Lovely! Kanga and Roo are unfortunate omissions, but I certainly love the accuracy and new bee pieces. I’m still to get the blacksmith, I’ll try and get this one as well.

that is indeed a very contradictive and sad move from the so praised child friendly giant named Lego."
The vast majority of current fans are adults and have been adults for years. I don't see how this is so complicated.
I would have loved the HECK out of this set if it had existed when I was a kid. Now... I still like it, but also have a non-existent budget for expensive sets, so whether I get it or not... who knows?
Still, like I said. I like it, a lot more than I liked the initial submission. It's definitely more colourful; but in this case, that suits the subject matter perfectly. It gets a spot on my 'maybe someday' list, if nothing else!
I was puzzled for a moment by the whip piece mounted outside the door; but going back to the source material, it's actually a very good match for the metal shape that holds the bell, so it makes sense ^^

I didn't even notice that! Thank-you so much for pointing it out; that's my favourite out of all the WtP movies and I'm really happy to see it get acknowledged :D
Oh my goodness, is this weird...
I mean it looks a fine build, but absolutely out of place. A couple of years back, Winnie the Pooh was a duplo theme and now it has grown to adults only, putting a colorful youth theme into a black background and labeling it 18+. Of course, "Adults welcome" - so we are with the most infantile Ninjago and superhero sets too.
Really like this one, better and more colorful than the original. Buy this one when we have an nice gwp or double vip points
I know this is ignorant but didn’t there used to be a rule about not making new pieces for Ideas sets? Am I just not remembering correctly or did they change it?
I'm among those that think an 18+ set for Winnie the Pooh is an odd decision. Are adults even into Winnie the Pooh? It's an IP that's aimed at a pretty young demographic, so I can't imagine this being terribly popular outside the unique minifigs crowd.
I also don't really buy that the "vast majority" of Lego builders are adults. I can't find concrete stats on that, but about 6 years ago, it was estimated that 5%-10% of adults bought Lego for adults. I can't imagine that stat has shifted that significantly over the past few years, so the notion that it's even "mostly" adults, let alone the "vast majority," doesn't really hold much water to me, though I would be glad to see more recent and accurate stats on the matter.

Absolutely incredible set. Can't wait to get it!
Not surprised it's $100. Though this has to be the smallest $100 set I remember seeing. Not interested.

I think that's a decent trade for 5 new molds"
Not sure it works like that. Sure printing is slightly more expensive, but not that expensive."
It does work like that.
When a part is printed, it becomes a new element, just like a new colour or even a different mould. It has to be produced separately, separately stored while sets are packaged, kept in stock for customers service, etc.
Whatever the production cost of printing a sticker vs printing on a part, THAT is significant and introducing a new element is pretty tightly controlled.
Designers have a certain number of recolours or prints they can use for a given set, even big D2C sets. With five moulds for the characters, and prints for things like the bees and honeypots, I imagine they're cutting it pretty close here.
@ResIpsaLoquitur & others:
It’s worth pointing out that the characters included here are the same five that were in the original submission. None added, none taken away. Any missing characters (except Christopher Robin) may have been too challenging for the fan designer to create, or these may have just been his favorite characters.
@Johnny_V_:
I mean, Tigger and Rabbit _are_ completely nekkid, Pooh and Piglet aren’t wearing pants, and Eeyore is only wearing a bow. Just sayin...
I think that Lego spoiled everything exposing those awful light grey squared plates in every red brown arched bow. I cant stop focusing on them!
That is an absolutely stunning set, the ideas was great, but the end set is another level completely.

An Ideas submission can't include new pieces, but LEGO can include new pieces in the release if they see the need.
Wow, very nice! Price, design, minifigs, everything! Wonder if we might get a set later with Christopher Robin and Owl?
Looks great, but by the time I'm able to go on the site they'll be sold out, so why get excited?

No Silicon Heaven? But where do all the calculators go? ;-P
On a more general note, I much prefer the non-Disney versions of the characters. As I generally prefer anything non-Disney to begin with.

Underrated comment.
This looks great and I will get it, but I will say I am experiencing a bit of LEGO tree fatigue. Between the Treehouse, Stranger Things, the Bonsai, and now this, I feel like I'm spending a lot of time building LEGO trees.
No interest in this. Price seems inflated. My nieces had Winnie the Poo Duplo so going from that to 18+ is ridiculous.
Really wish they stop selecting sets like this and Sesame Street while rejecting much better sets.
These 18+ sets may not be aimed at kids, as some try and argue, but they’re kid properties in a toy format. Of course kids are going to buy them and play them. They aren’t grand works of art that only would appeal to adults. It’s just dumb to market these in an adult-oriented theme. Most of the other sets in this 18+ range make sense. Sesame Street and Winnie the Pooh do not.

Not that it isn't done well, I really like the tree foliage and the little toadstools, but I'm not that keen on the Disney versions of the characters and I don't particularly go for licenced themes. For all the people who'd buy this just for figures, I'd have the tree and house without them!"
It’s a shame Jack Sprat (graymattr) and his wife (Paperdaisy) live so far apart. Otherwise, you could split the set between you ;~P
For the record, I agree with Paperdaisy. Normally, I go for minifigures. But with this set, I prefer the build.

That is a very, very presumptuous statement, and frankly I don’t think it’s true at all. I would like to see your data indicating that, simply because a property is old, means there’s more adult fans than kids. After all, Winnie the Pooh is one of their Duplo themes as well, which is purely for young kids.
Side comment: If you haven’t read the original book in a long time (or ever), it’s worth a re-read. Full of wit, humor, and a genius way of bringing to life a “bear of very little brain”.
Like other properties that have been turned into film, the original work sometimes takes a back seat. But is usually more unique, a little weirder, and much more fulfilling. Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and the Princess Bride also come to mind in this regard.

How many century-old IPs are kids interested in these days?
I expect to see some of these moulds reused (hopefully with alternate expressions) in an inevitable Disney CMF Series 3.
@fakespacesquid , The FT content you linked to is behind a paywall.
Even though Pooh does not look like he’s stuffed with fluff it’s overall a nice set. I wish they used the micro doll body for Piglet, the ones used for elves in the Friends advent calendar.
I look at this, and all I can hear is the minigame music from Kingdom Hearts.
With current exchange rate $99.00 us dollars = $128.62 AUD therefore why is it end up being $159.99, what the furcoats going on.
LEGO Ideas is quickly becoming my favorite theme. I really like this and Sesame Street. It’s just too bad that I and other parents are restricted from enjoying this set with our kids due to the 18+ labeling.
@fakespacesquid:
Mickey just turned 90. Superman and Batman are 83 and 82, respectively. Wonder Woman is turning 80 later this year.
A lot of the Disney Princess stories are based on versions that were published in Grimms' Fairy Tales two centuries ago, but even those were based on oral tradition that can date back quite a lot longer. For instance, the earliest form of the Cinderella story is believed to be about 2000 years old (she was named Rhodopis in that version).
Absolutely loved the set. I'm not sure if I'm gonna buy it, but for what it's worth it's beautiful.
yawn
Winnie the Pooh from the age of 18 ... if it goes well, Lego Duplo will also be 18+

My excitement about this set is once again counterbalanced by the fact that it's more expensive than in Belgium.
When I'm allowed to go back to Germany (and Stores are open), I'll spend a lot, but also save a lot: 20€ on the Porsche, 20€ on the Blacksmith, 10€ on each Chinese new year set, 10€ on Winnie the Poo… (amounting to 550€ instead of 620€).
Let's keep complaining about this to Customer Service, maybe the people in the Pricing Department will hear about our discontent!

I will spend 0.00 EUR. So I will save the most! It could be 1 EUR or 1 million EUR.
Another set aimed at the Chinese government.

Do feel free to order it from the US and then see what the freight does to the cost.
The cost of living here is higher. It is offset by having a minimum wage which is more than double that of the US. Beyond that there are fewer customers here and we're further away. It's really not that difficult to understand.
Very nice tree/build, but gonna sell those minifigures.

It's a guideline, I think, not a restriction. Even the official images on the set's page show an adult and her daughter building it together, so they're evidently not trying to exclude children from the fun; the 18+ branding is more a way of saying "adults, this is socially acceptable for you to buy for yourself"... I kinda see it more akin to being marked "adult supervision required" where younger kids are concerned, rather than outright prohibiting them from it.

Oh yeah, I found that recently... the original books were WILD. As a kid, I don't think I ever realised it; they're incredibly cleverly-written, but they also unashamedly give the characters some truly ridiculous moments and thoughts that I never quite grasped as a child... they make the Disney versions seem quite tame in comparison!
@Snazzy101:
What’s your income tax rate? I recently saw an article about someone touting Scandinavian minimum wages that are about 3x the US Federal minimum, but failing to note that someone earning that wage would pay 50% off the top in income tax, plus about 16% of what was left in VAT. Compare that to here, where I’m paying about 25% and 6%, and where the local market rate is about double the federal minimum, even for a job flipping burgers.
@PurpleDave
It averages to about 24%, with our equivalent to a VAT being 10%. Direct comparisons are fraught with problems, and things are more expensive here, including LEGO. But the idea of just looking at the exchange rate and immediately decrying the price is nonsense.
The pricing also suggests the Euro has parity with the US Dollar. Given that's definitely not the case, clearly other factors are affecting what people in different countries pay.
That is just so cute! It looks like it would be great for display, as well as really fun for a kid to play with. Great job!
A wonderful set that I will 100% pick up. Only thing keeping it from being perfect is they did not include Owl.
Wonder if lego can sell this set in China. Heh?
Where is Owl?
He could be 21333pb03 but in Light Blue Grey - which would be a new color or 92084pb02, the angular owl in LBG.
Christopher Robin could use
Hair: 15500 or 23186, or 3901 if you want to go old school
Head: 3626bpx104
Torso: 973pb2001c01 without the tie, 973px18c01, or 973pb3569c01 or 973pb4126c01 but in white,
Legs: or 970c00pb0150 or 970c00pb0538
Discuss.
I was brought up on the books (I inherited a battered set from my mother) and have never seen any of the Disney movies. However, other than having Piglet the same size as Pooh, I think these minifigures look very nice. Pooh looks a little more like the Shepherd illustrations than do most images from the Disney versions I've seen, which may be why some people who are only familiar with the animated versions are uncomfortable with his face. I also agree that he'd look better in a "fat suit," but if you make him look more like a stuffed toy than a minifigure, what are you going to do with the rest of them? This is Lego, after all.
The build is delightful, full of cute touches, and I like how the house opens up. Plus I never get tired of good Lego trees! The original idea was nice, the finished product is even nicer, and while the price is higher than I'd like, it's not unreasonable. I think this may have bumped Sesame Street off my wishlist!
Who is this Gopher of whom some people speak? I don't remember him from the books--so I'm glad he isn't present here. As for Wol, I can always borrow one of the non-Hedwig owls from my Harry Potter sets....
Not having children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, or even friends with kids, I'm going to buy and build it for myself, so I don't mind the 18+ rating, but I agree it's rather silly to apply it to this and to Sesame Street. I'm sure both sets will be built by many happy families, with the children and adults all joining in. And choosing to mark the set 18+, which does usually imply "adult content unsuitable for children," only makes the situation worse. (Although what does it say about society that "adult" has been reduced to a synonym for "overtly sexual"? What's childish about a Beethoven symphony?)

Owl should be the same height as Pooh amd Tigger (and light blue gray? He's brown)
Christopher Robin should be at least 1.5 (in universe it's more like 2x, but seeing how big Piglet is, 1.5x would do) times bigger than Pooh, which isn't possible to do with a minifigure
