As a teaser, that's a pretty big let-down. However, the event itself looks good and fun.
Shouldn't "18-20PM CEST (17-19PM BST // 9AM PST)." be written as "6-8PM, 5-7PM BST"? Or leave out the 'PM'. 18PM would mean 6AM (the next day) I guess.
Well guess its a slightly more interesting way of doing things then reading press releases...
It's like LEGO wants to have their own annual E3 event.
Dang I wish this teaser was going to be for LEGO lighting...
So a tv show???? Is that what it means? Or something that we can attend? Virtually?!?
Looks fun so In my diary ?????? x only thing that put me off was that blooming llama!! ?????????
Considering all the comments mentioning VIDIYO in the previous article, it's funny that VIDIYO is actually part of this. :-)
The L.L.A.M.A may as well be the mascot

I agree with leaving the PM out, however, 18[00] has always meant 6PM. If anyone confuses 18[00] with 6AM then they don't have a correct understanding of time.
Oh, so it's like the Warhammer Previews Online then.
It's free, it's live, it's certainly more interesting than boring and/or obnoxious press releases.
I think I'll check it out. Might be fun.
I've cleaned up the format of the times.
I am actually really excited for this! I won’t get my hopes too high up about the ‘interacting with presenters, designers and the community’ part just yet. Knowing LEGO there’s bound to be some IT issues here and there, and I have a feeling there’ll be tons of young kids watching who for some reason will get their questions/comments featured while actual interesting ones that the major community wants to know will be left out. Still, I love the idea of seeing some sets for the very first seconds they come out, it’s the same feeling you get from a movie premier or something. I’m curious about all the other segments of the event though, there doesn’t seem to be much info on those details yet.
I really hope they don't do Con exclusives that 99% of us real collectors & builders can't get like all the other toy companies do!! Especially in the UK aswell!! we were well & truly screwed out of the DC, Marvel & Star Wars sets last year!! Xx
“ Many beloved product lines, including LEGO DOTS ..... & LEGO VIDIYO”
!!!
Hahahahahahah
If I’m not mistaken, that’s 2am on Sunday 27th June for us Aussies!

Indeed, I think it was also due to our expectations about things we wanted instead. I'll see it but I don't expect much of just promotion for the already released sets.
Wonder why no mention of LEGO Super Heroes/Marvel/DC even though LEGO Batman featured in the promo.
Hopefully they will reveal Lego Lighting at this.
I can't help but feel that "LEGO Con" is NOT actually aimed at AFOL's and TFOL's. We already know what can be done with bricks, and building, about new sets, and how much VIDIYO isn't going to succeed. We do it by playing/building and following our favourite Youtubers/Twitch Streamers or frequenting websites like Brickset. It feels much more like a huge marketing exercise to get normies and casual fans to buy more LEGO/spend more money (I speak as an FOL for over 40 years btw).
Boy, who’s excited for llama??????? Hype train lets go! Ha ha heh, sigh.
@Vindic8ed:
If anyone writes “eighteen hundred hours PM”, then they don’t really understand how time works either.
Rather disappointed it's not a lighting system...
Not sure about this event. It might be fun, but if LEGO don't outsource the IT side of things, I think it will be a bumpy ride. Also, after a year of online conferences and conventions I can't really get excited about 'virtual' events anymore. Hope it's a success and that others will enjoy it, but it's a pass for me.

Same
At least it's on a Saturday! I would have been really disappointed if it was midweek.
I cannot think what they will be doing apart from showcasing the new summer sets, but seems a bit late as most of these are already available at the Lego shop allowing the usual reviewers to already have done this. If they just want to talk more generally about future directions and concepts, then curious to know if they have done anything with all the feedback surveys on Technic?
And Everyone thought its a lightning systemxDDD Lego knows how to dissapoint it's fans xD
I'm quite excited that VIDIYO is a part of this. It means the line is surviving, and that they'll present new stuff for it to some extent. Since by that point Wave 2 will already have hit the rest of the world, one can hope they hint at Wave 3, or show the collectible minifigs coming in the Fall.
So it’s an infomercial.
And if you call now we will make it just three monthly payments of $19.99 instead of four. But wait, there’s more, we’ll also throw in a second brick separator for free. So you get not one but two brick separators. That’s a $99.99 value for only three easy payments of $19.99.
I’m really jealous of the Aussies who will get to watch this at the traditional 2 AM time.
Huh, not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't this. Interesting to see what 'brand new models' are showcased... hopefully an official release date for the Skywalker Saga video game ;)
Meh.
I don't think I'd call a live stream from a single location a "con" but ok... Hopefully this is just the first step in a series of actual conventions across the globe. As is, this sounds like more of a Nintendo Direct (which are great--but not what I was hoping for).
This looks interesting, but I'm going to be traveling on that day. I hope they upload it to youtube so we can watch it asynchronously.

Website says it will be available as a recording after the event.
All of my passion for the brick goes into building MOCs and the engineering behind them. I don't do celebrity or crowds or popularity. I don't do sneak peeks or thrills or "jaw-dropping" surprises. If TLG are judging that the celebrity bandwagon, similar to what other products have, is what "fans" like then I'm not a fan and TLG has missed me altogether in its marketing style.
This is disappointing for me, as an avid builder for 45 years, but I accept that some people of other opinions may like it. What is a further disappointment is that TLG is going for popularity and wide-market sales at the expense of its soul. Recent products are less-versatile, especially the new electric parts. Plug-and-play without hackability is not "LEGO System"; it is "popular consumer products". I worry that today's children will miss out on the electronic experiments we did as children, where we connected our own circuits to our LEGO electrical parts. It was easy with the 4.5V and 12V plugs; I still use them. Experiments like that were what helped me choose a career in engineering. Will LEGO products continue to encourage young engineers, who can do more than program a mobile phone but also understand electronics?
I would have preferred an announcement of a lighting system. 2 LEDs for £9 from Powered-Up compared to 100 LEDs for £4 from a set of Christmas lights is a no-brainer. Another no-brainer is the need for the promised LiPo batteries for the 2-port and 4-port PU hubs. Yet another is the need for the 4-port hub to understand commands from the train handset, without using a phone as an intermediary; the Top Gear car 42109 missed that obvious possibility. Off-road Buggy 42124 has followed suit.
Still, I got hold of a T7 Torx bit now, and a row of header pins, so my 51515 Robot Inventor Kit distance sensor can look forward to being opened to access the connections. Then we'll see what else could be connected; simulating motor IDs will be the first experiment. I'll race you TLG, it's either my Christmas lights or your new lighting system to be controlled from a Powered-Up hub. Which one will be available first, to light up my layouts?

Also note that PST is only observed Nov-Mar, so US west coast should tune in at 9 PDT ;-)
UK has an S in summer for Summer Time (vs GMT in winter) but US has an S in winter for Standard Time (vs daylight time in summer)
We can just read Brickset later that day to get any important details from the show, right?
This look to me as a good idea.
Having Lego-Con every year, maybe in different countries, different cities? Like San Diego Comic-Con, N.Y. Comic Con, L.A. Comic Con. I'm for it!
How many more directions are they going to go before they overextend themselves again?

Comments like this reveal just how complacent people are with their lives, and how everything around them works.
Change is inevitable, and those who don't innovate, or change with the times, get left behind. This is Lego ensuring they are current with trends, marketing tactics, and social media presence. This isn't Lego overextending themselves, this is Lego remaining relevant in a tech driven world.
I think this is a great idea!
My prediction is their website will crash because of the high volume and no one will be able to see anything.
I consider a "convention" or "con" to be an IN PERSON event. This is just streaming presentations online with some chat. I LOVE in-person conventions and even run a web site listing them. I hate "virtual conventions".
I'm planning on watching live to see what they present and how well they do. Other toy companies have done some good virtual conventions over the last year - Hasbro has done the best because they do multiple streams each month based on a specific line or brand.
Eh I suppose I’ll read about it here when I wake up in the morning.
So.... No lights?! :( Maybe there will be a big announcement during the broadcast that they are launching light sets?!? (Don't burst my bubble of hope)....
And here, we were all hoping for TRON. Or better yet, Blacktron!
What a bummer. I was expecting something interesting. Way to go TLG marketing hacks.
Nintendo puts their directs on YouTube, a shame that lego won't do the same as in the politest way possible lego.com is awful and I'd bet money that there be some sort of technical difficulties.
The Sign Up button on LEGO.com/legocon ("Sign up to our Family newsletter to get LEGO® CON updates, free play ideas, building instructions and expert tips on learning through play.") leads to a 404 Page not found. That doesn't bode well.
Somehow the term "Con" in itself brings back happy memories. Like when I went to FedCon in the early 2000s and had a drink with Avery Brooks and Garret Wang at the bar in the Maritim hotel in Bonn...
Then again, this is a virtual con, so no meeting celebrities in person.
Wait, a virtual con, quasi a Virtucon. Hmm, where have I heard that before? ;-)
I would like the idea of an official "LEGO CON" more if it were an actual convention and not just a livestream.
Hopefully the announcements they show will at least be somewhat interesting.
So the speculation as to what will be revealed continues.
