This year's Jurassic World sets revealed!
Posted by Huw,
LEGO has published images of four Jurassic World sets that are set for release on September 1st.
It's unusual for the company to reveal sets at its online store so far ahead of release unless they are planning to offer them for pre-order, so perhaps these will be soon.
The sets feature a number of recoloured beasts and new minifigures, and you can view pictures of them all after the break and in the database.

These sets are so unique! Love the interesting builds and cool dinos
The fossil exhibition is a nice idea.
Not really into these, but I like them playing with the JP livery on the vehicles. Still hope to one day see a legit Jeep and/or Explorer in the creator expert range (a la the bond or ghostbusters cars)
$50 is way too expensive for 76941... but I must get that JEEP!!!

Pun referencing the fossil IDEAS set?
I gotta say I'm impressed by that clever re-print of the standard T-Rex head piece to make it into a skull.
Not sure if I like some parts of the rest of the model, but still.
£74.99 for 308 parts? Stuff that.
oh good, at least one set without Owen!
Dinos are awesome per usual. But also, continuing lackluster builds...

Agreed. I wish it had included two Baryonyxes
Looks pretty good, I still wish they made more stew for Jurassic Park though
I'm surprised they didn't put any Camp Cretaceous marketing on the packaging. It's only barely mentioned in the set descriptions.
Cool sets but still waiting on the Jeep from the original movie. They have the license, you’d think they’d want to tap into *that* market instead of just using the name as an avenue to make their own dinosaur theme.

I haven't bought any from this series, but I'd buy the original vehicles easily. If they were sized correctly, I'd also consider buying 75936 at that point.
The fossil set looks neat. I'll skip the rest.
Are these from a movie at all? None of the characters outside of Owen and Claire look familiar to me. Interesting if they can use licensed figures in ways that aren't linked to a specific movie.
I wish the kids from Camp Cretaceous had the hinged short legs instead of full sized legs. Nice to see their characters represented though!
I refuse to believe that just a Baryonyx and a boat hull are worth $49.99 all by themselves
Fossil set is about to be my first Jurassic set, looks really good and I'm glad its different from the Ideas design
Cool sets, but the prices are just silly. There's no way I'm paying that much for any of these.
I love that it's all relatively small sets. I am running out of space for Jurassic World sets. Also I LOVE camp Cretaceous, but where is the Scorpius Rex!? Also, Owen and Claire aren't main characters in Camp Cretaceous. I wish I could get all 6 characters without buying all 4 sets. They had to put Yaz in the largest set with Darius.. and Darius in the cool T Rex set... So Darius will be the new Owen Grady.. lol. (I have so many Owen Grady Minifigures... ).

The characters come from the Netflix series "Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous", which just released its third season. The builds are loosely inspired by that series, but are no more accurate than any of the other JW sets are to their respective movies - except that six-wheeled truck. That's a dead ringer for the truck from the show.
Dark Red 1x2x2 windows, yes please!

If I recall from the Jurassic Park D2C designer interview, there's some sort of licensing issue with the original vehicles, since they are specifically based on actual car models. Apparently the designer wanted to include one but wasn't allowed to.
Rather disappointed with Lego here. No new dinos. Only old ones with new colors.
Night at the Museum necessitates me buying the fossil set.
I refuse to believe I'm the only person who looked at these prices and thought 'Lego are you having a laugh?' serioussly stuff those prices.
The vehicle in 76941 reminds me a little of Dino Attack!
and still no stegosaurus...

There are apparently some intricate licensing reasons why the Ford Explorer and Jeep Wrangler have never appeared in sets, unfortunately.
Nice
That recolored Baryonyx looks like a knockoff brand

£35 for 129 pieces is crazy. That’s a ppp of 27p. Bonkers!

"Bones should be one color or the other the mix looks like crap. Skull is Super Cool though!"
I’m not familiar with the source material, but dinosaur fossils are rarely complete. When museums add the missing bones using plaster or other materials they often colour those parts differently so visitors can easily see what’s what.
Very interesting LEGO made a fossil set like that, a few years ago it was a feature in a LEGO City magazine comic where they were hauling a big T Rex skull onto a ship and this looks very similar.
Well, I was really hoping for a classic trilogy set in there somewhere and not just Camp Cretaceous. Can only hope one day we get a line for them like the Infinity Saga sets.
Rats, I've been hoping for a Brachiosaurus! Even a baby or juvenile would be ok, if creating a molded adult would be deemed too expensive...

I look at those two as opportunities to get a Carnotaurus and a Stygimoloch again. I missed both as my kids weren't into Jurassic World yet, but now they love it, and I am thankful I can get those two for a more affordable price!

Which is odd considering that both Ford and Stellantis (Jeep) already have Speed Champions Lego sets. If both brands already work with the Lego group and so does Universal, why would would ether side have a problem working together? It's basically free advertising.
This makes me think it might be a different, but related issue. Maybe both the car company and the studio taking licensing fees on a set would be too much for Lego to make a reasonable profit, provided the sets were also reasonably priced. Or maybe there isn't an issue with the vehicles, but the with the Jurassic Park livery itself. Rights are complicated, so it's possible they have the rights to the vehicles but not the artwork on them.
I have to say, those front-printed shorts look bad. In a time when Lego has the ability to use dual-molding to make shorts, why not do that? Or at least add side printing! It comes across looking very cheap, especially for sets of that price.
As a hardcore fan of the Jurassic franchise, I have speculated for a while that the upcoming movie would crossover with the animated show characters. However, I am in a bit of shell shock. Seeing Owen next to Darius and Sammy doesn't feel right; especially since they used the full adult legs for the kids. I would have liked to see Camp Cretaceous and Dominion split into two subthemes. Even if the kids are in the movie, and this may be a personal thing, but LEGO shouldn't be putting them in sets that will come out 7 months before the movie. It's jaring to see these characters together since they have never interacted before.

Indeed! Had my hopes up for that as well, when I saw how many new sets were going to be released this year, but alas...
I like these well done lego I'd like to get Darius's head a couple of times and use it for Miles Morales and a more grown up Lucas from Stranger Things!
And I hope one day the boxes say Jurassic Park and the Ford Explorer Nedri's 4x4 and John Hammond's Chopper and The toilet block & T-Rex as sets lol..
Huge let down tbh. I was hoping for a Gallimimus Dino in a set that isn’t bundled with useless tat or incredibly overpriced (or both, 75940).
The recolours of the Pachy and Barryonyx are too cartoony. No Indo Raptor. No Stegosaurus. No Spinosaurus. Disappointed.
My favourite license but I won’t be buying any of these sets. Bummer.
I may just not have enough knowledge about certain current areas of pop culture, but didn't the last movie in this series come out at least three years ago?

JW: Dominion is coming out either this year or next.
These sets are some of the worst from the line, IMO. Love that LEGO is doing Camp Cretaceous, but Owen and Claire didn’t need to be thrown into these sets and Brooklyn and Ben look nothing like their animated counterparts. The builds are okay I guess, but only the 4+ set looks worth the price. The T. rex fossil is a cool idea and I like the reprinted head, but the body is all out of proportion. The Carnotaurus is still way too big, both it and the Baryonyx have strange inaccurate colors, and don’t even get me started on the price for that boat set. If LEGO is going to make Jurassic World sets every year can’t they make a new mid-sized theropod mold or new species every year? The Ankylosaurus last year introduced a great herbivore system that’s just going unused this year, although maybe LEGO had to course-correct after Dominion was delayed and that’s why we don’t have any new species.
$80?? For 300 pieces, a boat and a medium sized Dino? Um... what was LEGO thinking? I mean I thought for sure $50, maybe $60, but even $70 is a stretch. I’ll just get it when/if it’s half off
The fossil set is actually quite neat. I might get that, but I don’t have much interest in the Jurassic World theme apart from the Dino’s. Could they just make some Original Trilogy sets for once?
Me: "These are looking good and----."
Sees the boat: "I need them."
Set 76940 is the only one that looks half decent with a skeleton actually built out of lego and not made of juniorised specialized dinosaur pieces. Completely uninterested in these huge specialized dinosaur pieces, not really Lego in my opinion. And the prices...

And LEGO would likely get into a lot of trouble again. Some of them are military vehicles--Textron Tiger, BAE Systems MRAP, and the Oshkosh HMTV come to mind.
But, they have no real excuse for the Jeep Wrangler and Mercedes Benz Unimog and Gelandewagen. They have the licenses to both brands.
@CapnRex101:
Other toy lines have produced both vehicles. The LEGO Company has the Jurassic Park/World license, the Ford license, and the Jeep license. There is absolutely no reason they couldn't make this work if it was a high enough priority, unless _maybe_ some other company has managed to bag exclusive rights to one or both vehicles and simply refuses to share.
Is there another Jurassic World movie coming out? I haven't been to a theater in well over a year, so I haven't really followed much movie news or seen many trailers.
I'm guessing this is yet ANOTHER case where the movie was supposed to be out by now, but 2020 happened and messed everything up. I wonder if they'll still sell the Black Widow sets when the movie comes out.

Yes, there is supposed to be a third Jurassic World film in the works and it includes the three giants of the original film, maybe that's why the rest of the sets haven't been revealed yet. "
Yes, there is a third Jurassic World film that is currently filming now and that it has the three big characters from the original film (likely in cameos), I suspect that is why there are some sets without description or pictures.
I definitely want to get this T-Rex fossil exhibition set, so nice to have the head in that color.
Very encouraged to see people speaking up against the prices. The sets marketed "4+" of any theme are pretty much priced to roto-rooter your wallet. ;-/
*Facepalms*
WHY Is oven there? It's not a character from the shop!
Baryonyx STILL HAVE WRONG LEGS!
Dinos however all look great.
Oh I wish new elephant had such amazing designs and posability
Keen to see some other Dinos, brachiosaurus, stegosaurus and spinosaurus, even an parasaurolophus.
"We" need diferent ones not the same stuff in diferent colours. I might buy the fossil since now we have it (most of it) in Tan instead of white.
TLG is really pushing me into creating that big museum MOC I've been planning for... years now? Ok, maybe after I finish my grocery store modular, which I've been working on for... ah heck I give up.
All ima say is I’m hyped for JW3. You can never have to much Jeff Goldblum. And Laura Dern, and Sam Niel are legends! It will be worth watching just because of them!
just the other day i was thinking "strange that lego hasn't released something on Camp Cretaceous". And i already saw this news! I can't explain why they didn't marketed Camp Cretaceos more clearly, i think it would have a huge audience among kids. My son is crazy with that show
This fossil is much better than Ideas set 21320 !
There are plenty of Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler / Ford Explorer models. I refuse to believe they have such "impossible" licensing issues. "If" it's a money issue, just add it to the final price, there are model cars starting from 15€: even if 10 are licensing fees, it wouldn't make much difference on the final price of a large set, and it would sell like hot cakes anyway.

I walked into my local LEGO store in Sydney, Australia, and despite dozens of sets across numerous themes appealing to me, I could not bring myself to buy a single one!
Every single set, especially the licensed ones, feels at least 20-30% overpriced, plus a lot of them will eventually be on sale at 20% or even 30% off, in other stores or online!
I wish LEGO would reign their pricing in, without sacrificing quality :(

There's a cartoon on Netflix (season 3 recently released) called Jurassic world camp Cretaceous and it follows a group of 6 kids who get trapped on the island. Season 1 follows along with the first Jurassic world movie and the characters interact w some of the movie characters or witness some of the set pieces from that movie. Season 3 crosses paths with the beginning of the 2nd movie.
These sets feature characters from the cartoon (currently on season 3) that's on netflix
