I would prefer a different color, as the first Porsche already occupies the orange color. Then again, LEGO cannot produce pieces in a new color only for one set, especially if it is expensive (although there are exceptions), and I understand and appreciate that.
Agreed--orange would not be my first choice.
Looks nice, but nothing new here. Overpriced, look forward to big discounts in Europe where it is mostly unknown!
Why is this an 18+ set? Confused…
Do we know if it's the same scale as Jeep Wrangler.
I'm pretty sure I have seen these things (the real ones) on Swedish roads...

People under 18 can't afFORD it :)
I'll see myself out.
Honestly one of the better larger scale Technic sets, not as good as the Land Rover ofc but that's hard to beat. Defo will consider this one at a decent price.
Thirsty? My F-150 gets 26 mpg. That’s a bit above 11 kmpl. Not fantastic, but not bad by any means.
Some of these have made it to The Netherlands, having seen a couple. Although RAM pick-ups are more popular.
I think the Lego F150 should at least have four wheel drive. It looks pretty okay to me, maybe interesting at a large discount, but with all the life I hope to have ahead of me, storage space is certainly keeping me from buying too much.
It looks a bit empty, but that might be an advantage if one wants to create a motorised version. I'm also looking forward to discounts - might get it at a good price.
Why didn't Lego revealed this on the Lego Con?
The Adidas set (and the mini Adidas), the Daily Bugle, the Typewriter and the selected Ideas Lighthouse should all have been revealed there too.

($100 city sets leave the chat)
@Vladtheb: Keep in mind that is has many engines: 3.3 V6, 2.7 Turbo V6, 3.5 Turbo V6 (standard, and high-output, which is the one in the Raptor), 3.0 Diesel, and a partial hybrid (known as Powerboost). And in a few months, a fully electric one as well (known as Lightning, not to be confused with the one from the early 90's or early 2000s which both were performance versions)!
The Raptor is only 16 combined.
Reasonably nice and I will get it eventually. Would also have chosen another colour (I guess all the parts exists to make it red).
That said, at 1379 pieces, this is most likely just a (empty)shell. I.e. most likely not a piston engine but probably the rather sad 'cam' engine that they use nowadays. Most likely no transmission. So only steering and suspension. To me, opening doors is NOT a function - nice to have for realism but still not a function.
Also quite a bit of stickers on this but probably fine with just the front grill and front lights.
EDIT: I saw new pictures, it has pistons engine. That's good, nothing new but better than cams.
Seeing that the retail price in Germany will be € 139.99, maybe/likely even more in NL, I think I'll just settle with the instructions.

Looks like a good idea to a Brickset article: How does Lego define the age classification?

No, no, you stay. You need to be here for your Raptor-ous applaus!
^^ It's just a marketing thing, meaning 'it's not meant for kids so it's OK for me, an adult, to buy it.'

I hardly dare say it, but I just bought a 7+ set, fourty years overage. That must definitely be not okay...
The sticker across the Technic panel on the bonnet betrays Lego's soul for what it is. Money, money, money.
a lot of stickers
I quite like and captures shape pretty well. I think this type of vehicle is better suited to Lego than curvy super cars!
The front of the bonnet looks a bit odd though, and I notice on the box the shots are a bit cheeky as they miss out the roof mounted steering gear

Kind of like the orange corvette...
140 Euro RRP in Germany, compared to 180 Euro for the Land Rover Defender with almost 2600 parts and more functions? Oops ...
With Lego making efforts to be more green, I really hope that this is the all electric model. A charging station would then make a great GWP.
i wanr one but i too wish it were in a different color. and p s off subject it says Huw is in the USA. Cool hope you enjoy your stay
Is it going to be Fix Or Repair Daily like the real thing?

Based on what I've seen on the roads here, darker/burnt orange is almost a signature color for the Raptor. I generally see them in either that or black.
That marketing-speak in the press release is just hilarious:
"After spending quality time on this project, you can place your collectible model on display to celebrate your passion for pickups."
Can't say the press release gets me interested in this. The set seems to be lacking in functions. And if the prices mentioned above are correct, rather expensive. I look forward to the review to see if this set is worth considering.
Love it! Even though I've driven a Chevy all of my adult life, and own a Chevy truck now, I'm still looking forward to picking this up. Orange is my school/work colors as well, so that's an added bonus for me to like this set.
I am mainly a RAM fan and have a souped up lifted 1500, but I love trucks of all kinds, especially higher horsepower performance ones so I'll be picking this up for sure. It would be awesome if they eventually did a TRX
No thanks Lego
If this was like Dark Red I think I'd like it a lot more.
That un-hideable knob up top is just bothering me too much. And I also have that giant Porsche already so my collection is a little orange fatigued
No more functions than the smaller Technic vehicles but for twice the price. Not seeing anything here to get excited about.
I love the colour!

Un-hideable knob? Clearly you didn’t look at all the pictures

Just to let them know: TLG is "way too thirsty" ;-) I wonder how many we'll see around here in Europe.
I have lived in Michigan the last 24 years and I don’t think I’ve ever seen an orange F-150. And a yellow Jeep Wrangler is very uncommon.
Hopefully, this is paving the way for a technic GT-40 in line with the Lamborghini and Bugatti ..... One can only hope

In Ohio, I don’t recall ever seeing a base F-150 in orange, but definitely the Raptor. Strangely enough, I do see some yellow Wranglers on the road here. Every third vehicle that passes our house seems to be a Wrangler of some sort.
Tbh this is a no for me just because of stickers. LEGO should really just give us printed pieces with all 18+ sets. Sian and 911 had no stickers. Either you're making prestige & overpriced toys just for adults (silly 18+ mark) and you give them quality, or you're plain joking and give me sticker sh(i)eet.
At the moment of this comment only 25% people answered yes in the poll...anyway, would prefer to have the headlights and taillights be brick built rather than stickers/printed. It's doable in this scale, and even if it doesn't look as "real" it would still be better to be brick built.
it's too bad they didn't do it in flame yellowish-orange (same color as 42099: 4x4 X-Treme Off-Roader). That is much closer to the cyber-orange color Ford offers on their new Bronco and Ranger. I didn't even see an orange option for an F150, raptor or otherwise.
For me, i'm looking at those orange fenders and black fender inserts, those M/T tires, and I'm thinking about how I can parts this into a Bronco 4-door.
I…dig.
I think this has nearly got me into Technic! But then again, so have others before it.
I'm always in 2 minds with Technic sets. I really like the sets with plenty of remote controlled complexity to justify them being a Technic set (like the Liebherr).
Sets like this one, that don't do much, I just think could look so much better as Creator Expert.
(Really looking forward to the upcoming Technic CAT D11T Bulldozer)
So, way it is $100 in US and 140 euros un Europe? What kind of injustice is that?
Anyone seen the other pickup truck revealed? That red one looks pretty good
Once again, a set that is completely useless as a Technic set.
If they have to make a set of one of these ugly things at all, at least make a Creator Expert version.
As for the price in Euro, who cares. Perhaps they don't want to sell this over here and just wanted to make absolutely sure it doesn't sell. Goal accomplished I would say.
This seems like a great start to a fully motorized vehicle, the only downside of which is the price because it's such a large shell. Also I do really like the orange on here, it's my favorite color and I love to collect as many pretty orange models as possible and put them all next to each other ;-P. Though I do agree that red would've probably looked a lot better on this particular design.
I still have 42029 on display which the toddlers love to play with, especially as Technic it can take some abuse. Good to see an updated version available again with the new mudguards, which will be about the same size, just shame missing the winch.
Interesting dilemma for Lego promoting Americas most popular pick-up which only does 15-20 mpg, which seems to contradict there own sustainability manifesto. Assume like the real thing it probably will not be sold in Europe.

Didn't see the RRP of 140 euro over here while writing that. Wondering what the chance of getting at least a 50% discount might be. :-)

I'm not a vehicle person at all but if what I found is correct that's pretty bad. I believe the European 2021 requirement is 95 g/kms which supposedly equates to 57.4 mpg. That's just over twice what you're getting. Assuming all of that is correct I think it's pretty fair to call the F-150 thirsty.
Although you can get a Ford Ranger Raptor in the UK. Not as big & a lot smaller 2.0l ecoblue engine!
Another reminder I made the right decision to stop collecting Technic. Form over function is not the Technic I fell in love with. And it's gone commercial. How long before modular buildings go commercial I wonder. Will the next Pet Shop be PetSmart? Will the next Cafe be Starbucks? Yuck.
@Huw said:

yeah, its gotta be the dark blue for me
is this real??? it looks more like a moc. there a quite a lot of holes and unfinished details. and for an 18+ set, really?

I think you are confusing emissions (carbon dioxide: 95 grams / km), with fuel consumption!
Like the Creator Expert pickup truck, this isn't quite my little red pickup truck, but it's close enough that I'm tempted.

"include the model’s V6 engine with moving pistons"
Unless Ford have invented an electric motor with cylinders, I guess this runs on Dino-juice. A modern raptor consuming ancient raptors, if you will.
On a personal opinion, I see nothing new here to make a purchase worthwhile: steering, engine and suspension have been present in almost all Technic cars since decades, so this offers nothing to learn, experience or exhibit.
Orange wings 3x11: check.

You do realize that the emissions are closely related to the fuel economy?
In any case, 26mpg is abysmal for a modern car. Then again, an F150 is not really a car but rather a truck, isn't it?

Well, of course it's €10 more expensive in the Benelux… €149.99 for this is unreasonable, especially compared to the US price!
I wasn't planning on buying it anyway, although I like the model.
I would've preferred this at the scale of $50 sets like the Jeep Wrangler and (equally orange) Corvette ZR1. It still looks fantastic, of course!
Why is it half the price in the US? It’s £135, which is equivalent to $185, not $100. Why?
I do hope this one has real cilinders and not the fake small ones made with axles with technic bushings

What? Two of those were on shelves during Lego Con. I was building the Typewriter while I watched it. How is that a reveal?
This may just be the blandest $100+ set I have ever seen. It's so boxish in shape, and it has nothing special going for it. I'd be shocked if this sells well.
It what world is USD99 the same as AUD249.99?
So much for global pricing parity. The AUD price is a joke!
