Brickfair Pretoria online event tomorrow
Posted by Huw,Brickfair Pretoria is Africa's largest LEGO event and this year it's being held online with presentations from guest speakers from around the world, including me!
At 12pm GMT+2 Saturday 30th October I am being interviewed about Brickset and LEGO generally so if you'd like to tune in and watch you are welcome to do so.
You'll find a list of speakers and a link to the Zoom webinar at Brickfair.co.za.

Interesting. Hadn't heard of this one before. From the different logo used by the event, I'm assuming they're not affiliated with the BrickFair conventions run by Todd Webb in the eastern US.
Never having used Zoom, how do you view a Zoom Webinar? Need a Zoom app installed? Need to set up a Zoom ID?

From my experience, all you have to do is click on the link to their meeting, and from there you'll see a page prompting you to install the program or just join from your web browser. (The "join from browser" is a link in small text under the big "download" button because Zoom would rather you put their program on your computer.) If you choose to join from browser, I believe you'll be given the opportunity to type in a name to display before joining the webinar. If you choose to download the program, you may have to make an account, but I don't remember that for sure.
Keep in mind this is based on my experience with invite links to Zoom MEETINGS; I don't know if their "webinars" work differently, but I imagine the process is very similar or identical (from the perspective of just joining an existing webinar set up by someone else).
Just click on the "Watch now" link on the webpage at 8:30am tomorrow, and zoom will automatically start on your browser. You may be asked to download a zoom launcher or similar app if never used zoom before. While waiting you can check your sound, but likely your microphone will be muted throughout.

Yep, it is independently run and organised by a couple of our local community members in South Africa. Although with the pandemic ongoing, it has become a virtual event, but we are hoping that next year we get to go back to a display weekend, as it is historically our largest event. Looking forward to it though @Huw :)
Cheers @goldenguy880 and @ambr
Great interview!
Thanks!
