New Wolverine is awesome!

I like 76206.

By in United States,

AN X-MEN CHARACTER AT LONG LAST! AND IN A CHEAP SET!
I also appreciate the new Iron Man suit, and Black Panther is a nice surprise! I do wonder why he doesn't have a helmet, though. Even a separate headpiece would've worked.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

And the Legacy of the Nexo Knight Armor suits continues, they look good.

The action figure looks great as well.

By in United States,

For 76206 Iron Man Figure the ccbs sockets look new fingers crossed for a return in buildable figures :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

is it just me or does the new wolverine mask just look like 2 batman (batmen?) kissing?

There actually is the usual "masked" headpiece included for Black Panther, if you look up additional pics for the set.

That means it's accurate.

By in United States,

Nice to see an X-men see, but why haven't they done any of the other characters?

Gravatar

Who needs all these mechs?

Gravatar
By in Malaysia,

Gotta have the Wolverine minifig. Though nothing much improved from 76022

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like the Wolverine mech and minifigure. As a yellowist, though, I would swap out the minifigure’s arms and head for yellow ones. Trouble is, that would leave the minifigure looking somewhat exposed. Good thing Wolverine can regenerate ‘parts’! :~P

I don’t like the Iron Man mech ( 76203 ) as much as the earlier version ( 76140 ) with a bit of modding: https://brickshelf.com/gallery/AmperZand/Fantasy/iron_man.jpg

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

They gave blue boots for Logan's mech but plain legs for the minifigure... Dissapointing, Miles Morales had dual molded legs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's kind of cool to have an affordable "UCS" iron man suit. I know the Hulkbuster existed, but it didn't really have that much more detail, and less poseable than the much cheaper Infinity War one that came out the same year. That said, most of the red and gold MCU suits look kind of the same. It would be really interesting to have a large Iron Man Mark 1 in the same vein as 76206, there is so much detail and interesting asymmetry that could be included.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The new Wolverine Mech is cool! I love the minifig. But the Iron Man one is weird with all the gold. And the previous Iron Man Mech is still recent so I'm surprised there's another one.

This spells good news for Marvel fans, THE X-MEN APPEAR TO BE MAKING A RETURN!!!! I might get the Wolverine set just for him.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Iron Man Figure!!!!! Every year I hope for some new constraction sets, and this is the closest we're goin to get. It's the perfect fusion of system with some ball joints in there!

My kid loves the mechs, so I'm gonna say 'I need all these mechs'

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hoo boy that Iron Man looks dreadful. Gangly, patchy, and that head good lord. My one hope is that some of those socket joints and the pauldrons look new. Might be some nice parts for reuse in Bionicle/CCBS builds.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm here for Wolverine. Wolverine, Wolverine, Wolverine. Wolverine!

It's a decent version of his blue and yellow costume.

Wolverine most recently appeared alongside Magneto in the (underrated?) Mighty Micros set 76073 .

Wolverine (the brown costume/best version), Storm, Cyclops, Magneto and a smallish buildable Sentinel (good timing with that article today!) were included in 76022 .

Wolverine, Deadpool and Magneto were all in 6866 .

EDIT: Seeing all those Magneto figures makes me REALLY want Sabretooth, Silver Samurai, Mr. Sinister, Omega Red, Lady Deathstrike and the Reavers, etc. Let's get some more villains!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Those mechs are sick! The Iron Man figure is cool but I can do without it.

Glad to see The X-Men are back, and I’m looking forward to the first appearance of the Fantastic Four. This is gonna be another expensive year.

Let’s hope LEGO also pumps out some nice DC sets.

None of the X-Men sets ever made have been over $50. They have been $10, $20 and $50.

I love how Wolverine's mech even has a belt."

I mean

I wasn't able to get the other x-men sets at the time they came out.

And aside from the Mighty Micros, they probably aren't cheap second hand.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Wolverine looks great, I might pick him up. Black Panther also looks nice. The Iron Man minifigure looks off to me.

The Iron Man figure doesn't interest me, but what does is the idea of constraction figures returning...? Pretty neat to see a new one.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Moreeeeeee Iron Man!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The box art for the mechs though!! They look more like vintage comic covers than the old red outline on past sets. I am kinda confused why LEGO still uses the 2x2 plate with 2 axles instead of 1 for the hands.

Also the X-Men ties with the previous article today can’t be coincidental, right? :P

Gravatar

Is that a new style stud shooter on the Iron Man Mech, or did I just miss it getting introduced on another set?

@SlimBrick1 said:
"Whoah. I am definitely getting the Wolverine and Black Panther mechs, Probably not the other 2 though. The repetitive iron mans are getting annoying. Though the new gold Iron Man fig is cool."

Same here, both the Wolverine and Black Panther mechs will be joining our collection of these really cool 'action figure' mech sets. I did actually LOL when I saw the size of the Wolverine Mech blades, but they are awesome in all their super-deformed glory :) It's also great to see two different heads plus hair AND head-piece for Black Panther. I think all three mini mechs have printed chest designs too going by the photos and the previous mini mech sets. These sets are great value, especially when they dip to 15-30 percent off RRP as they frequently do in the UK.

I'm actually all in favour of multiple different Iron Manses, to fill up our combined 76125 Hall of Armour and 76167 Iron Man Armoury slots. A suit of armour around the world. What could go wrong?

AND 76206 has working knees... Could this mean better articulation and possibility for future large mech-type sets too?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well, obviously I'll be getting the Wolverine mech. As for the others, I'll wait and see some reviews - I don't see that I need another Iron Man but 'yellowy', and that screen in front of Black Panther looks a bit rubbish (but you can take that off I suppose) and I'll really need to see the proportions before being happy about the Iron Man buildable figure. The head looks a little too large, especially when compared to 4529.

But Wolvie!

Gravatar
By in United States,

These are absolutely terrible.
What ever happened to the Endgame sets?

We still need more What If? Too!

Lego what are you thinking?!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like what they're trying to do with 72606 Iron Man, but I don't think i like the actual build. The shoulder and elbow connections look wrong, and I think they're going to limit the available articulation. It's much more substantial than the old constraction sets, and I'm sure this will be nicer to display, but I don't know if the overall effect works. I passed on the UCS-style Hulkbuster, so I think I can skip this one too.

Looks like new, I assume it can fit both tiles and studs with how it's shaped.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I believe the Wolverine set has something to do with the new X-Men ‘97 that’s coming out on Disney+ sometime in the next 1-2 years.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I looked at the Wolverine minifigure too long and now his pose reminds me of Tommy Cooper... :(

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I'm kind of disappointed that they didn't wait at least another year or two before wasting Mech slots on repeat characters, to date we've had Thor, Cap, Miles Morales, Spider-Man, Doc Ock, Thanos and I think Venom in one of the larger sets, plus a double-dip on Spidey, and of course Iron Man already.

Where are all the female mech users? Or just some more villains in general? You could make a nifty AIM or Hydra Soldier Mech for people who like to buy multiples to army build and She-Hulk hasn't been featured as a Minifigure since that abomination of a giant tricycle versus tricycle set featuring the Red Hulks too. Honestly I'd love to see more repeat characters who are off the market as opposed to yet another Iron Man.

Truly a failure on LEGO's part.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Also, I loooove that T’Challa set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was planning on collecting all the $10 mech sets, but only 76202 appeals to me out of these 3. They already did a (better) Iron Man mech and Black Panther isn't interesting. I have a Black Panther from 76047 and will probably get the T'challa head and hair from 71031-11 .

Does anyone know for sure what this Wolverine is based on? It looks to me like the '90s cartoon Wolverine without the blue boots, underwear (outerwear?), and shoulderpads. It doesn't look like the set comes with his hair piece, unfortunately.

"Lego what are you thinking?!"
The target demographic for these are kids. Kids like superheroes and action figures. These mechs tick both those boxes being very much like superhero action figures. And they’re not terribly expensive, so affordable for most parents etc in LEGO’s main markets. That’s likely what LEGO is thinking and I have to say that I think it’s right.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They've certainly cracked the code to sell 1 minifigure for $10. Honestly hope this crap stops.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Yes! finally more mechs and more super heroes!
Come on LEGO, I know you can do even more of those! Some people say they sell well, so it just must be good!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love the new wolverine mech, but the iron man Minifigure in the mech looks like the iron man 3 Minifigure but the mech looks like the endgame suit with the nanotech shield and the gold arms.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just a reminder that these are designed for 7-year-old children and will make a whole lot of 7-year-old children around the world very happy. If a few adults on a website like them, that's cool too but largely inconsequential.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I will certainly grab wolverine and a New T'challa nice to see they're using his head & wig from the cmf's in September!
The stark one is better than the last version
But I'm not overly fond of that infinity Saga buildable iron man not at £34.99 anyway.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The title mechs are still fun, if a bit samey. Another Iron Man is unsurprising, though they have tried to differentiate it (plus, the elbows aren't up too high for once on that one).

The larger Iron Man is interesting. I suppose we're out of Hulkbuster types, not like those managed to be proper minifigure scale anyway. My one concern is how the shoulders seem to be a little low set, for the sake of the shoulder pads not sticking out. Should be fixable though, even if it prevents those shoulderpads from sitting so flat.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Mechs at this size must sell like hotcakes. Although they aren’t super compelling to me, I try to remind myself that the “action figure” size is a great one for kids to play with. Not to mention the appealing price point.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I will 1000% be getting the wolverine set, my only qualm with it being those legs, would be better being dual molded, top half being the same yellow as the torso and the bottom half being the same blue of the hands, but other than that's he's amazing, and I may get the iron man mech to have with my hall of armors, but we'll see

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Oh look another sets made only to sell figures...

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

People like to complain. If you don't like it just don't buy it.

A lot of kids, parents of kids and minifigure collectors are very happy with these smaller affordable sets. Lego is still a toy after all.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Nice affordable way for me to get Wolverine & Black Panther minifigures.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They look good. But I still hope that lego releases a large scale nano gauntlet to go with the infinity gauntlet . And possibly a thanos bust as well.

Look again at the box

Gravatar
By in United States,

I probably would have loved mechs as a kid. $10 for a posable figure and a minifig.

As it is, I'm not particularly interested, even if one of them is Wolverine.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just look at the fancy ‘Wolverine’ logo branding and X-Men logo in the bottom corner. Any hopeful fan would have to assume it means more X-Men in the future for Lego.

Fair point. I like super heroes and all that. But somehow I don't need them in Lego form. So, I don't really care for the figures ;) And from the little I know it's not like these folks run around in mechs all the time (well, Iron Man maybe...), so to me the mechs seem like a 'cheap' way of distributing those figures.
But, heh, it's all good! What do I care. I don't buy them, but as long as they sell and make you guys happy I am all for it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

These are neat! The Wolverine mech suit is my favorite of the three new ones, with great colors and shaping all around. And the Iron Man figure is arguably one of the first "constraction" sets we've had in some time. Unlike most past ones it's mostly brick-built, but that seems to allow for great detailing. As a constraction fan I can only hope that it's successful and maybe starts a new trend of System-based constraction sets.

Plastic isn’t made from dead dinosaurs, dinosaurs are far to recent to be coal ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

A bit underwhelming.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was Logan for Halloween— not the comic version, rather the one from the movie, but I’m still drawn to the set as a result. In general Wolverine is just a cool character and I want the claws so I can’t go wrong with a $9.99 set, plus you get six helicopter blades if you want any of those. While the mechs themselves are well-designed, I’m not drawn to them most of the time but Logan’s one just looks so cool with the claws NGL.

Gravatar

Gravatar

Not being argumentative; I just thought the comments brought up an interesting subject:

“Plastic POLYmers are made from building block MONOmers. The naturally occurring monomers (feedstocks ) can be derived from plants, coal, natural gas or oil.”

There’s a clear explanation found here: https://brentwoodplastics.com/blog/plastic-made

This version is definitely based on his classic suit from the 70s. It has the same belt design and everything:

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/_AU9iQbb1Ii_74MalM8PIc8q_3GHxbPkjgWrxKtohnCpL_1vsZqhrYId8zUsfazXTWat3fldcq_dud0dLSByvsyYiQOrcVHWlN13WpDYWl4E2j4vlIciumwGtipzBA

Though for whatever odd reason, Lego didn't give this version a blue hip piece to represent the "underwear"/trunks. I can understand not giving this figure any boots or even a shoulder pad piece (thankfully that comes in a blue color in the upcoming 80108 Lunar New Year set), but these color legs don't have a variant where they have a blue hip piece:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=970c110&idColor=11 T=C&C=11

Right now, the best alternative is probably going to have to be the Bright Light Orange legs that come with a black hip piece and hope a blue one ends up happening down the line.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

The small mechs are fine, they're the usual stuff by now, althought it looks like their hips connection has been redesigned and now they are unable to rotate. Still no side torso coverage...
I don't quite get, why Black Panther has that little screen in front of his face, is that a weird reference to his collar from the comics, or just a digital display?
Iron Man's color scheme is kinda weird too.
Wolverine minifigure disappointigly lacks in detail.

The amount of articulation of the big Iron Man figure presents itself to be above average not only having bendable knees, but a sviwel rotation at them as well as at the waist. Bushings at the hips can be detached allowing for greater degree of movement outwards, while the ankle construction ensures consistantly flat positioning of the feet on the ground. At this point a bicep swivel or a properly mounted ball joint at the elbow would make it pretty much perfect!
My only real gripes with the model would be the blockyness of the head, as smart as the dual use of this new shoulder pad piece is, and how low its shoulders appear to be attached, fortunetely this can be overcame with some mods or simply by putting the figure in a pose different than standing straight.

I have enjoyed the line of Marvel mecha, more than I thought I would, so I'll definitely be getting all three. I'm slightly annoyed at the fact there's a second Iron Man suit (but I mean, there's been 3 for Spider-Man, so far). Any chance Black Widow or Captain Marvel could get one, guys?

I personally would love to see mechs for Hawkeye, with something like a giant bow with a spring-loaded missile, one for a new Minifigure of Hulk, and as ironic as it can be, a mech for Ant-Man.

@1ISTRIKESAGAIN said:

Reducing a hand to four fingers in total is a common technique to reduce complexity while still maintaining a good look. You’ll notice it’s been used for decades in hand-drawn cartoons because it’s less time consuming.

I also think it helps with scale. For certain applications if you went with finger-sized fingers (whether it’s a toy or a cartoon) it would actually look strange and not “read” as well.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really don't care for most licensed themes, but the mechs are (and always have been) really well done for the money.

I wish LEGO would really quit trying to do buildable licensed action figures. Bionicle and Hero Factory were fine, as they were LEGO's own IPs. However, LEGO attempts at action figures well-covered by regular toy companies look just plain weird. I will say one thing--they did get me into 1/6 action figures a bit. I had cheaply bought the Jyn Erso CCBS set on sale; and I eventually ended up getting the Disney Store 1/6 version, which at the time (and still is) was under $20 through most secondary market sellers. I recommend her as both a really good representation of the character without getting into Hot Toys money; and as a pretty decent base body that is well articulated and proportioned well. She's built small enough to where she can also wear most Barbie clothing, saving money on the pricey 1/6 stuff.

It looks like it, however it seems to be more similar to part 15403 PLATE 1X2 W/SHOOTER , for example set 30371 : Knight's Cycle

Maybe it's just a sign for a new stud shooter overhaul for 2022, where both tiles and studs can fit inside.

For the Ironman Mech set , one of the images shows the shooter is attached to the hand by a horizontal curved tile, and has no vertical stud on the back.

Looking at them more they both seem like new stud shooters to me. The Batman set one being a handheld, and the Iron Man one the 'attach with studs' type as they've both got a squarer profile and a bigger firing pin. Does seem with the middle slot you could fit the flat tile dots in to fire too.

So yeah, guess we're seeing a redesign of the stud shooter next year.

I'm way more excited about the buildable Iron Man figure than I am anything else, not because it's Iron Man, but because if it's successful, there's a slight possibility of an original buildable figure line.

Awful sets as Ive come to expect, but great minifigs! Im looking forward to getting Wolverine.

It’s Wolverine and the Angriest Minion!

Go ahead, unsee it. I dare you.

@B_Space_Man:
It’s not so much about complexity as it is proportion. Cartoons tend to have sausages for fingers, and putting that extra finger on makes the hand look weird. Going Yakuza on it makes the entire group of fingers look more like it fits with the thumb. It’s weird to think about, until you actually see Mickey Mouse with ten digits. Then it just looks creepy.

lol - these are $9.99 sets - you get a cool fig and a small cool little build. What's not to like!

Or...you could get two CMFs and have enough change leftover for a down payment on a Starbucks coffee.

You pick...

Great job LEGO for making small fun little sets that make great small gifts or stocking stuffers...

All these brick-built posable figures... and still no Bionicle.

I quite like the Black Panther mech! I don't know if I would get it though as I plan on getting the T'Challa minifig from the CMF series. Wolverine's mech looks pretty decent, but the minifig NEEDS dual molded legs. The Iron Man mech is a different take. But gosh dang that is an ugly figure!

I also really like the Iron Man Figure, but it's helmet piece looks a bit odd. The dimensions seem right though.

Actually if u already have the two previous Wolverine minifigs, you don’t have to get this one. U just put the mask of the second version onto the first one. And voila! Plus, u get some printing on the legs. This new one has no leg printing.

Yawn. More meh-chs...

Black Panther and Wolvie for me! I’d like to see a Falcon, Scarlet Witch or Hawkeye mecha. And some baddies to fight them.

If this version was an update of the 2012 minifig, I'd agree with you. But it's actually a completely different costume from the comics. The 2012 Wolverine is based on his Astonishing X-Men costume that he wore throughout the 2000s, while this new Wolverine is wearing his classic costume that he first wore in the 1970s.

Also, even if you put the mask on the 2012 figure, there's still the issue of the mask that's printed on the back of the torso. So you'll have him wearing one mask with the other still showing on his back, which looks weird.

@PurpleDave: "Going Yakuza on it." Great turn of phrase, there.

Y'know, at first I thought the Wolverine mechanism claws was oversized, but then I realized that the minifig's claws are oversized too, so it works.

Is that new Iron Man in the Mech set based on anything specifically?

By in United States,

FINALLY. Just swap his pants for dark blue and we have a pretty close X-Men Evolution Wolverine. Now, if we could get some more comic/animated-inspired X-Men characters that would be great.

By in Poland,

will I get it only for Logan figurine?

Hope for more X-men in the future : D Maybe something based on X-men'92 as it's getting some love on disney+

By in Germany,

Come to think of it, 76206 Iron Man Figure is more or less in scale with 76190 Iron Monger. They might work well together.

Nope. The Iron Monger 76190 is 18cm tall compared to the 24cm tall 76206, while in the film Iron Monger has quite a bit of hight on Tony. I just don't think it works.

It really does.

"LEGO Needs to create a mech for Hulk!"

I'd buy a Banner mini mech, where the mech is green and bulgy. Kind of like a Hulk prostethis for when Banner is hungover/happy/on mood suppressants.

"Why doesn't Wolverine have a blue waste piece?"

Waste means poo in this context!
(Maybe his poo IS blue & yellow?!)
;)
I think you mean “waist”, which is a human midsection, near the hips!

By in United States,

Yo why did they make another iron man mech?
The wolverine mech is pretty cool but I am probably only gonna pick up the black panther one
