By in Germany,

You mean the "non-offers" continue.
I just checked, nothing new has been added to the "sales and deals". Not one interesting set.

In the past it was huge D2C sets with great discounts. It was an event to look forward to all year.
This is just pathetic.

Incidentally, the retro camera from last week's "VIP weekend" is also still available. And not even any VIP discount vouchers discounted. At least that we got last year.

I went ahead and bought the AT-AT to get Luke's Lightsaber. I know it was a lofty purchase for a small set, but I had to get that lightsaber; it's just too iconic to pass up on. Hopefully I can resell the AT-AT to get my money back. I would keep it if it wasn't such an investment!

On Cyber Monday, Lego has a discount on $5 Vouchers for 455 VIP points each. You can only get 4 though. So it will be a maximum of 1820 VIP points for $20 off on Cyber Monday.

It’s best if Lego doesn’t get involve in Black Friday anymore and call it a clearance sale because that’s what this is. At least this people we won’t be disappointed

The buying limit on the AT-AT has been raised to x2, must not be selling that well in the UK.

I agree with others, the entry fee for the lightsaber and the VIP points for the camera are not the buying incentives LEGO think they are.

the Lightsaber is given on monday purchases too, or just until sunday midnight?

Any idea if any sets will get reduced later on in the weekend?

- not in the Australia/New Zealand region, it's marked Sold Out.

goes to show that we are being under-allocated promotional sets yet again... :(

I would assume it will be available until they run out? A bit like the GWP with the 10284 Camp Nuo.

The Queer Eye set 10291 is normal price but triple VIP points.

I'm sure it's selling fine. It seems very sensible (and probably planned) to start with a limit of 1 for the initial surge, then gradually increase the limit.

Looks like Santa’s frontyard is sold out in Europe dont show up on the list of offers anymore. My bad just a glitch on the webpage so it’s no longer showing under the offers but it’s on the Black Friday page and shows up in basket.

As I commented in another article, I wasn't expecting much on LEGO BF after last year huge disappointment. Amazon Canada on the other hand was a pleasant surprise and saved the day with some great deals, I gladly spent my money there. I just no longer have high expectations with LEGO when it comes to Black Friday, just like May the 4th, another repeated disappointment for me over the past few years.

For what it’s worth, I was at my local Lego store last night around 6 pm and talked with the manager. He was a little surprised at how slowly the AT-AT was moving (after the initial morning burst). Business was good, but he described Black Friday as resembling a busy Saturday. Behind the counter, I saw plenty of lightsabers...

My guess? Lego learned a hard lesson last year with the Mos Eisley release and Yoda’s lightsaber, so this year they ensured greater stock. Unfortunately, they evidently failed to account for a $800 dollar set moving slower than a $350 set...

AT-AT went out of stock on LEGO.com within a couple hours in the US.

Amazon was excellent in Canada. Several exclusive sets - the big space shuttle (30% off) , space station (30% off), police station (30, then 20% off), bookstore (20% off). Happily spent my money there.

We're on a site that regularly posts deals of 20-30% off of these sort of sets and then people say that these discounts never happen!"

So true.

Also true that LEGO themselves had sets discounted up to 50 percent until a few years ago. I bought a couple back then myself. And a couple of years earlier still, even top sets were thrown out. I remember the Haunted House 10228 or older Modulars like Town Hall being sold off at 50 percent discount at the end of their shelf life.

By in United States,

I managed to get the retro camera using VIP points a few days ago. But I, too, have given up using Black Friday as a place to get great deals on outgoing sets. A few years ago I got several large Ninjago sets (City, Boat, probably the Docks) for 30% off as well as an outgoing modular.

Supply must be too low or demand too high. I'm just glad if I find the website actually has what I want in stock.

No VIP rewards at All right now, says they are updating the rewards at the moment

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can’t really blame Lego for not having great clearance sales since they don’t need them. Unfortunately I think they are taking the wrong lesson from sales during a pandemic and assuming that those numbers are sustainable. Which I don’t think is the case.

Regarding the VIP angle, they have yet to crack the code for me personally on how to keep me ordering exclusively from Lego.com. The Amazon sales are too good to pass up and VIP points are such a slow trickle. I’m not sure what the solution is, maybe a large number of small exclusive sets that you can redeem with points? But even in that scenario it would have to be good enough value to bother with. They come around rarely and run out of stock fast.

I don’t feel “owed” anything from a company I purchase products from. But if the proposition is right then they’ll have my loyalty. Currently the VIP membership feels pretty flimsy. Which is a bummer.

By in Portugal,

This year's Black Friday sales at Lego online store are absolutely shameful.
The Lego CEO and Directors responsible for this joke should be immediately FIRED.

Gravatar
By in United States,

After last year's non-existant sales I wasn't expecting much this year. I really only got back into Lego the year they retired the Old Fishing Shack and stupidly didn't grab it when it went on sale for Black Friday. I remember having to check the website every day because they added discounted items each day. I miss that.

I think this year's excellent sales figures might be a little more relevant to their future employment prospects!

Gravatar

The Black Friday sales have been excellent, just not LEGO's own.

By in United States,

Made an order and reached the Santa's Front Yard threshold (but not the fleece threshold) and received, in addition to front yard, a 40461 Tulips. That was a pleasant surprise--anyone else experience this? Still waiting on part of the order on back order--wonder if I'll get another surprise in there?

But to other comments, I feel like I mention it every year, but the good ol' days of a proper Black Friday appear to have ended. The 50% off UCS B-Wing is now but a legend.
