City Advent Calendar - Day 8

A week into the calendar, and I've pretty much despaired of having anything all that festive in these builds. We are getting a pretty impressive collection of microscale buildings, and the minifigures we've seen so far have been pretty good (though I'm still not sure why Betty and Sam would be playing hockey). Let's see what Day 8 has in store for us.

*thud* That was me falling off my chair, as we actually have a festive build! Today we have a lovely snowy Christmas tree. I love the parts usage here, and the use of the gold jewel for the star at the top (though we might want to keep Betty away from it).
That base piece for the tree I'd not seen before, I thought it might be new to this set, but it turns out that it's just new this year.

I don't like the build, but I like the inclusion of that new 2x2 piece with the ridges on the side. It's not super cheap on Bricks and Pieces or Bricklink, so nice to get another way to get it.

All the want for more festive theming is giving me nostalgic flashbacks to the Reasonably Clever webcomic and the author’s yearly advent dives. IIRC he always was hoping builds would be more festive than they were.
Or am I just mixing up with past City Advent coverages on Brickset?
Poor tree looks like it was the victim of a drive-by snowblowing.
It's totally frozen.
