City Advent Calendar - Day 19

Posted by ,

Top Hat Tom was somewhat festive, and we had mini toy workshop yesterday. I think it might be a bit early to say we're going for festive builds for the duration, so I suspect we have a microscale build or two yet in the calendar. Let's see if there's one behind today's door.

We do....of a sort. The orange truck, the green and blue shipping containers, and the distinctive yellow crane seem to make it clear that this is the truck from 60292 Town Centre. However, I'm puzzled as to why there's a shovel and brown swirlie included in today's build. It's not microscale, and it looks like a minifigure accessory. Maybe it's an indication of something (or someone) coming in one of the remaining days?

Festive watch: I don't have anything on this one.....

There's Christmas poo, for all the southparkateers out there!

Feel like it is a recolouring (and miniaturising) of set 4206 - Recycling Truck from 2012 .

That's the truck for rubbish (garbage) in 60292 so a pooper scooper would be similarly themed. Isn't there also a dog poop in 60292?

Maybe someone was lucky enough to score an extra large x-mas dessert, and needs an excavator bucket to pick it up............. ?

... or this was the (horrifying) after-math.

The bigger issue is the crane on this miniture build is lacking articulation, that it cannot actually load or unload the containers on the truck. Fail ;-(

That is...unfortunate. And seems to have scored itself accordingly.

Well...if it's 'in scale'...then we're gonna need Jeff Goldblum to recite his famous line from "Jurassic Park", when the they left the ride Jeeps...("That one big...":))

I last bought a City Advent calendar several years ago and was very disappointed with it...I considered getting one this year but didn't and I have to say I'm so happy that I didn't, these sets seem so disappointing.

I only have one thing to add, or actually to ask:

Since when was poop considered to be recyclable?

I have liked a number of the microbuilds in this calendar, but I am disappointed in this one. Not a great over all look and that crane? is flimsy and does nothing. I was thinking at first the shovel might be connected to it in a way to make it more of an excavator type function, but not to be with the given parts.

For me this is the worst Lego advent calendar ever. I had several over the years from all themes; some years even 2. But this one is so repetitive and disappointing.
