Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 6

Posted by ,

Moving on after yesterday's disappointment, we should expect something much-improved today. Predicting what that might be is difficult though, given the variety so far.

Fortunately, we can easily find out...

Imperial Troop Transports appear prominently throughout Star Wars Rebels and their live-action equivalent, including a more rounded nose, was introduced during The Mandalorian. This model faithfully recreates that curved armour and the red highlight looks accurate as well. However, the trans-black 1x1 slope appears awkward because the viewports should be very narrow.

Effective texture decorates either side too, representing the doors and troop hatches. Once again, these demonstrate splendid accuracy and I like the rotating laser cannon on top. The 1x1 round plate with bar has proven exceptionally useful for mini models like this one, already appearing twice during the first six days of this Advent Calendar.

Overall - 4.0 - This model features surprising detail and closely resembles the source material, although I dislike the cockpit here.

Looks like a part of Berlin wall.

It's alright, but a little tall and narrow. I think I prefer the version from 75213, even if that could've used some more parts around back.

Weird they did this instead of the marauder.

Much better than yesterday's Targets. Would this be a Marauder? Tough to tell with the similarities between vehicles. Utilitarian, the Empire is.

Hmm, I had this pegged as a Maurauder, but the red highlight did seem off.

Still, a good rendition of a very dull craft, and I can't blame it for lacking the charm of the full size Maurander's copious interior space. It's what it is, a grey slug of a vehicle.

No it’s not. That’s why it has the red

My on real criticism is that it's not very sturdy, it flexes. Other than that, it's OK.

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

I would have loved to seen a side by side picture, as you did on day 2

The version shown in the screencap seems a lot better designed than the original Kenner toy, where they all stood in waist-high kitchen trash cans so they’d make nice juicy targets for any Rebels in the area.

Added. I will remember to add reference images where they may prove useful.

The reference image is much appreciated! I always like seeing them, and I would love to see them more in other reviews when you talk about accuracy or which vehicle it's supposed to be. And maybe even just when the source material is relatively obscure.
