Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 17
Posted by CapnRex101,
Four days have now passed since we received a mini model. I am therefore anticipating another today, hopefully maintaining the great standard already established.
Find out below...
I am impressed with this model of Moff Gideon's Class 546 Cruiser, which captures accurate proportions and includes surprising detail. For example, the recessed launch tube is correctly positioned at the prow, while the bridge superstructure appears authentic too. This does seem somewhat fragile, but I think strengthening the bridge would be impossible without spoiling its shape.
Exposed studs along the flanks represent docking tubes and hangar bays, while three engine nacelles are secured at the rear. Their trans-light blue glow looks marvellous, interrupting the otherwise muted colours. Moreover, this vessel feels reasonably strong because a 1x4 tile is attached across the underside, forming a rigid spine.
Overall - 5.0 - This model is essentially perfect, featuring numerous important details from the onscreen vehicle and providing good play value!

This is my favourite build from the calendar so far! Shape is perfect, build was interesting, but it works. It well deserves its 5/5 score!
I'm seeing a green glow coming from the cargo bay and the bridge...
Based on the pictures from the box, you have the bridge structure too far forward. You are supposed to the seeing two stripes of dark blue-gray in front of the 2x1 plate that holds the bridge.

I'd agree. I attached the central tube of the 1x2 plate to the modified brick, rather than the antistud which makes it look a little better.
It was a fun little build, very clear what the subject is and 7 spares, too.
What a great build. Lots of pieces and was a great experience
Well, they got the notch in the nose, but I don’t remember seeing such a bland A-Wing before.
Safely in harbour
Is the king's ship; in the deep nook, where once
Thou call'dst me up at midnight to fetch dew
From the still-vex'd Bermoothes, there she's hid.
I seem to have accidentally become one of those people who does a thing on the advent calendar.

And we are all grateful!

Yes and keep it up as we desperately need an intellectual here on brickset! Well done.

And we do see those two stripes— one from the foremost grey 1x1 plate and one from the bottom of the 1x1 brick with studs on all sides. The model is built correctly."
It is now, the images were updated.

Thank you; the photos have been updated.
Favorite one so far in this year's edition.

@DragonLord56:
I certainly don’t mind, but I would not go so far as to say I’m grateful. I have a very difficult time reading almost any sort of verse (limericks and haiku are about my limit), including Shakespeare (pity, since I own a “complete works” set that dates back to the 1890’s). I can watch it as a play or a movie, or listen to someone recite it, but the words get hopelessly tangled up if I try to read it myself. Prose I’m fine with. Three times I’ve bought a new novel and finished reading it before going to bed, I used to get in trouble for swiping the emergency flashlight to read under the covers as a kid, and even though I got pulled up a grade for reading lessons I could never keep track of where we the group was reading from because I’d be three or four stories ahead of everyone else by the time I got called on to read aloud.

I happen to qualify as an intellectual, but I choose to use my powers as a force for good...

This ship looks excellent. Definitely one of the best builds in this calendar so far.
