That Lambo looks pretty good!
I think there might be a mistake with the Aston Martin price and part count, it’s listed as identical to the Lamborghini.
A little bit disappointed that the Countach isn't the original 1974 LP400 model, but still I loved it and all the others! Speed Champions is such an amazing theme, I hope it lasts for a long time.
Though I do hope for more Japanese and classic cars in the future too.
EDIT: I'm very curious about the 76909 now...
These look excellent. This theme gets better every year. I will very probably pick up the Ferrari and the Lambo.
Note about the article: the price and piece count information for 76908 is repeated for 76910
Wasn't there supposed to be an Aston Martin DB5 coming?
The Lamborghini is sexy, hoping for a DeLorean soon
Going to buy the Countach and then make additional ones in red and black, such a great design at that scale.
Love that Lambo! The 512M has COMICALLY long fronts though, will want to see more angles before purchasing.
Also, is it just me or are they printing headlights now?
Goodwood House pictured on the Lotus box! Nice move and I’ve been to a good handful of Festival of Speed events there so it won’t go unnoticed by the target audience.
The Aston Martins are decently designed but a bit meh, compared to the drool worthy Ferrari and Lamborghini designs. I’m honestly not sure they could’ve done any of the Countach better based on an initial look at the pics.
Everything has been better with 8 wide. These are great.
Also those new parts for the headlights are perfect. They needed those for awhile now.
Those look like new wedge molds for the headlights!! It seems like they're printed though... That's usually great, but not for new parts
new parts is cool
Will get all but that horrid Ferrari, hate the real one so easy pass for me.
That Ferrari looks far too big for the minifigure, I am sure it is the case for all 8-wide cars but this one strikes me in particular. Other look great, though, especially the Countach, been waiting for one to be released.
Love that Ferrari, very unique design. Haven’t picked up a speed champion set since before covid started, might need to get that one though
Yes to all of these

I think that was rumoured for August.
Wow these look fantastic, still such a great theme after all these years
The Countach looks great, the only worry I have is the printing on that windscreen piece. Hope it is better, with a more solid white, than for instance the one on the Jesko. The modeling with all those angled parts is amazing, really looking forward to this one.
For me Ferrari and Lotus share second place out of this bunch. The canopy is a bit too narrow on the red car, making it look funky with otherwise really nice shaping. The Lotus looks ok, but they are cheating a bit with those new slopes at the front. And again, that printed windscreen has to be well made...
I never like when they put two cars in one box. You always like one better than the other, so you have to pay extra for a car you don't want just to get the one that you do want. Luckily for me this time, I'm not an Aston fan. I do like the Valkyrie though - the real one. This rendition of it gets last place from me. I don't think they really managed to capture its extremely sleek and aerodynamic shape. Is that a new windshield mold, or just one I'm not familiar with? It looks very strange. Vantage is ok, would probably like it if I liked the source material.
Don’t usually care for these but that Countach is a must. Would go nice with the only other SC I have which is the white Porsche
I wish it was black and not white but that Lambo... Shut up and take my money please LEGO :)
All I care is that on the Lotus, there appears to be a dark green 1x2 tile over the rear wheel!! Finally it’s back!

YES! Happy days are here again!
These look excellent. I did think the Ferrari looked as if it had been in a rear end shunt, but then so did the original!
March shopping list continues to grow... Council Tax can wait!
My Car...MY Car...MY CAR!!!!...For those who don't know: I've been lobbying TLG since 'day one' of Speed Champions for this Lambo...and now: IT'S HERE!!! DAY. DANG. ONE BABY:D
I wish 'the front' could've been more closer to the angle of that Ferrari, but hey...Countach!
(I'm also worried about the doors...but doors aren't 'a thing' in S.C.)
and @jonwil : Hey, I'm just glad they didn't put it in red...that color's sooooo overused. Would've been happy-as-heck if it'd been in dark blue, or yellow; but hey...COUNTACH!!!:)
Oof. I almost threw up in my mouth at that Ferrari. The front should come down to a thin edge, but this has a really chunky look due to the angled tiles. The canopy should be wide enough to seat two, but this looks like a tiny glider canopy being less than half the width of the car (once you factor in fenders and the flared back end).
@BulbaNerd4000:
They did one several years ago. If you didn’t get it already, you’re outatime.
@dimc:
What I see is a Ferrari where the headlights are paired 1x1 trans-black bricks capped with a trans-black 1x2 time that may be printed red on top. The Countach just has 1x1 trans-clear bricks on trans-clear 1x1 plates, and stickers for what looks like pop-up headlights right behind them. The other three cars all have a pair of new curved wedges, and do appear to be printed. But they have compound curves, which are almost never stickered because the material won’t lay flat unless the sticker is really narrow. I think the only ones I’ve applied were yellow lines that were maybe 1/32” wide.
@Jack_Sassy:
All 8-wide SC cars look like they’re sized for Woody and Jessie from Toy Story 3 (the ones with the long arms and legs). The 6-wide SC cars looked too long compared to their width. My philosophy on LEGO cars is that you can make them look accurate, or you can make them look good. 8-wides push too far in the accurate direction and don’t pair well with roadplates, but the design team has made it clear they don’t consider their theme to be related to City. I prefer 6-wide even though the cars tend to look a bit long. With experience, I’ve learned ways to shorten them up, which helps, and it’s only a few exceptions that I’ll make 8-wide. Lightning McQueen and Holley Shiftwell are actually noticeably wider than many of the other cars in the Cars movies, so I built them 8-wide. My Routemaster bus needs to be 8-wide to accommodate center-aisle seating, so pretty much any bus I might make going forward will have to be 8-wide for the same reason. Semi trailers, cargo boxes on straight trucks, and the backs of ambulances should all by 8-wide to look right.
@RTS013:
I can think of several uses for the new curved slope wedges, so if this is how the molds get commissioned, that works for me.
As for the paired cars, a design team interview revealed that they expect many of these will be co-built with kids and their fathers. The newer cars are expected to appeal to the kids, while the vintage designs are supposed to tickle the nostalgia of the fathers.
The Ferrari- yuk! But the rest are great. The move to 8 wide has really improved the quality of these cars. Will defs get them.
Still waiting on 007
But I like the Lotus.
Aw heck yeah, these all look amazing. I don't care at all about cars or brand loyalty, but I loooove designs, colors, and shaping techniques!
That Ferrari is beautiful! Oh my lord, easy winner of this wave for me!
The particular car depicted in this set is the one which won the 1970 Kyalami 9 hours driven by Jacky Ickx and Ignazio Giunti. Bit of car-nerd history there.
The Lambo looks fantastic as well. The other more modern cars don't come off as well owing to their curved surfaces, but I do wonder if Lego has attempted to capture the aero tunnels through the body of the Evija at all.
I'm pretty sure the Evija is the first Speed Champions model based on a purely electric vehicle too.
I really, REALLY wish that Countach also becomes available in red and/or yellow. Personal reasons. But it still looks hella awesome, a definite buy from me!

I mean a regular DMC DeLorean
Not sure why they must combine the two cars into one set instead of two separate sets...not that the price makes a difference when you separate them...or why not combine the others too then lol
I know they are both Aston Martin...but still...
@Rare_White_Ape:
76898. You’d be wrong.
@BulbaNerd4000:
Oh, if you want that, you’re just outaluck. The Ideas BttF DeLorean looks terrible once you’ve removed the gadgetry from the sides. The hoses and such basically create the shape of the fenders, and hide the fact that the wheels are mounted entirely outside of the 8-wide body, effectively making this a 10-wide car.
Damn it! Right after I said "8 stud? No way, I'm not gonna buy a single set!"
I have very little interest in that line usually (I like the look of them but I won't buy them because I have other sets to buy before) but these look pretty good. I must definitely have a look at the building technique on the 79608 to see how they achieve the rearlight sloping and still keeping some rigidity - might even buy it.
Speaking of the Countach, ran across this...timely:
https://www.caranddriver.com/lamborghini/countach
It's BAAAAAACK!!! Not surprised: the Countach was Lambo most successful car built '74 to '90 , although introduced in 1970...so twenty years...of pretty well the same frame...
The Evija and Aston Martins use a new piece for the headlights so that's cool, and they seem to be printed as well
They all look fantastic with the exception of the Valkyrie IMO. I'll probably pick up the Lotus at some point.
@PurpleDave said:
"Oh, if you want that, you’re just outaluck. The Ideas BttF DeLorean looks terrible once you’ve removed the gadgetry from the sides."
To be fair, as a Delorean, it looks pretty terrible WITH all the time machine bits on it - I imagine that’s why he posted “hoping for a DeLorean soon” in a Speed Champions article instead of a Lego Ideas article.
Definitely need that Countach to go with my F40 and the 911 Turbo.
That Lambo unfortunately is far from perfect. Something about the front doesn't feel right and the shape of the distinctive inlets on the side is wrong. Probably still get it though.
Ferrari looks ok to me, even if the nose isn't as sharp as it should be.
The Astons are meh. Definitely bottom of my shopping list.
The Ferrari and Lamborghini look pretty great! Just a few minor nitpicks on both, on the Ferrari I'd probably replace the transparent tiles with red ones for better color consistancy, and the one major flaw on the Countach are the wheel arches, which I don't thinks could have been much different except for very specific new molds. And even just limited use of stickers, and most not even that essential. Good job!
I'm not so sure about the other ones though. There's so much going on with those, and only with the pictures of the real thing next to it does it start to make sense.
I'm most pleasantly surprised by the Lamborghini Countach. Such a cool construction. Never bought any of these, never really had anything with cars, but I might just buy this one.
As a longtime Lotus fan, I'm happy to see that Evija.
Yes, more standalone vintage cars! I'm not a fan of 8-wide Speed Champions, but the Countach might just make the cut.
I think Speed Champions is the best Lego theme going right now. Some of the building techniques the designers use are really innovative, and the level of detail they cram in at such a small scale is incredible. The cars are always a joy to build, and they're great for both play and display. On top of that, they're good for kids as you can get a really satisfying, complete model for £18 or less.
Daaang, these sets are really good! I will be picking up a few of these. Especially liking the Ferrari and the Lotus.
Just watched Jang's first impressions on these sets, and that completely ruined the Lotus for me. Indeed, what were they thinking with the printing on the canopy piece? And how did I not notice it a first? Unfortunately, what has been seen cannot be unseen...
Really like the 76906 1970 Ferrari. Glad we have a Countach (but not so sure about the front, can just tweak it and see if it looks any better).
They will get along well with the 1966 Ford GT40 from 75881 in the (corner?) garage.
The printing on that new wedge slope is why I will always go to bat for stickets. That beautiful and much-needed piece rendered useless by printing. Hopefully it doesnt take too long to start appearing elsewhere without printing.
(I do think its a good point that, being a compound curve, a sticker probably wouldnt apply nicely to this part though. Still frustrating when Ive needed a part like this for so long)
Looks like I will be staying up late to order the Countach. Too bad they dont make Adrienne Barbeau and Farrah Fawcett minifigs to go with that.......

Summertime according to my work spreadsheets
Wow these look awesome. I’m especially impressed with that new six wide canopy piece there with the Astons.
These wheeled starfighters are pretty great! So many new space parts!
So, looking these over, I see what might be silver candle tailpipes and an understanding on why they changed the hand-stud on the Ferrari, plus they seem to have skipped a ton of sponsor stickers.
Those who have been praising the lack of stickers may want to take a closer look at the Lotus. I see three in front (would have been five, but for the printed headlights), four more in back, three on each side that need to line up to form a continuous yellow trim line, and I can’t quite tell if the Nexo canopy that forms the rear windshield has stickers, but there are two more parts flanking the forward corners of the canopy which clearly do have stickers. That’s a minimum of 15. There are also two yellow stripes on top of the back, between the Nexo canopy and the spoiler (snowboard in dark-green), but the angle is too shallow to identify what the pieces are, or how the stripes were added.
I don’t see anything interesting on the Countach, but there’s more candle tailpipes on the lime Aston-Martin, as well as a fin that I don’t recognize (new part?). Those who have dismissed it as boring may want to re-examine the top view of the front end, which has some unusual geometry. The grey one has trans-red tooth-plates, and uses a stacked cheese wedge technique I haven’t seen since 7784.
@WizardOfOss:
Hard to tell what you’re referring to. For starters, there are two canopies, at least one of which is printed, but the other one might be as well. There’s the yellow line on the front canopy, which has cuts at the A-pillars, but that’s to be expected because it’s far easier than getting the lines to touch, and it matches the gaps caused by stickers. There’s the gap under the yellow line, which should probably have dark-green printed below it. And there’s the Nexo canopy, which I haven’t really been able to figure out why it was used in the first place, or what’s going on with the print/stickers.
@magmafrost:
Any printed part can always be released later without print. If it’s not, you can always strip the paint off.
And the fifth set is a two car including Mercedes F1 according to LEGO Twitter... Pretty cool
The Countach looks niiiiiice!

Yes!! Bricklink for the parts :D
This could be modded to Red Alert or Breakdown without too much trouble
Ah yes, my Miami Vice Lambo! Insta buy right there!
oooh I like. Just still disappointed theres no bentley
Oh yeah, beautiful wave of SC. The Countach is the gem, absolutely iconic car from the 80s. I will be definitely grabbing them all, the 8 wide cars are so much better. I was hoping for a BMW M series since they have a license with them now, but maybe next time.
As a kid my favourite cars were the Countach and the Carrera - so I have been looking forward to this since it was announced.
So, I'm a tiny bit disappointed tbh.
I understand why (can see the problems and I know that opening doors have never been part of Speed Champions features) but a Lamborghini Countach without scissor doors isn't a Lamborghini Countach. I'm not wholly convinced the shape is quite right, it's good, probably a better depiction than we could have expected a few years ago... but I still think it could be a bit closer.
However, the representation of the wheel hubs is horrible - printed tiles are not the way, this just looks wrong!
I also wish it wasn't white, red would be my first choice, then maybe yellow or black... so I guess, unless it's heavily discounted, I'll leave this baby on the shelf and start hoping for a creator expert sized Countach in the (near) future. Please.
Is it just me, or is that the Lambo from Wolf of Wall Street?!? It’s even in the right color! If so, it’s a day one buy for me (it’s a beauty regardless imo)
Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team set was just revealed (teased)!

Missed the 76909: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/mercedes-amg-f1-w12-e-performance-mercedes-amg-project-one-76909
Mmmmm - those are great! The Countach in particular is fantastic - check out those rims!
The Lambo is really good but 8-wide is just too damn wide for my Modular streets.

If you look closely at the Countach all of the white elements are pretty common. I think Lego intentionally made some design compromises to keep it this way knowing that people would want to build them in every color.
If you like 8 stud wide Speed Champions cars, take a look at The G Brix's MOCs:

They are amazing!

I'm well aware that the parts are pretty common in lots of colours, personally I would have welcomed some new moulds - the Countach is an iconic vehicle, deserving of a tiny bit MORE tlc IMO.
I very much doubt LEGO would deliberately make design compromises to facillitate custom recolours, again, just my opinion but I think that they would see that as harming overall sales... I suspect we're going to have to agree to disagree on this as no one knows what the internal machinations of TLG are.
Never bought an 8-wide Speed Champions as they don't scale with a city, but might have to buy the Lotus as a parts pack if nothing else. Always had an affinity for the brand and the Lotus colours, even if the Evija itself doesn't excite me too much. I definitely need a Lotus minifig!

That exactly. On the real car, the yellow line marks where the glass meets the bodywork. But not here, there's glass, a yellow line and a lot more glass. I didn't notice it at first, but now that I have seen it, it really bothers me.
I think the easiest solution would have been to print that yellow line just a bit lower, right along the edge, and print everything below it green, even when the color matching would probably be problematic. Maybe they could have thought of a way to build the side panels a bit higher up, hiding that area below the yellow line. Though I guess that would have made it look too blocky. Designs like this are just rather hard to capture in Lego at this scale.
@WizardOfOss:
It’s a Catch-22. The yellow line does mark the border between glass and body, but it also has a distinctive shape. The windshields don’t match that shape at all, so it appears they tried to match the shape. Printing dark-green underneath seems sensible, but you’d end up with the A-pillar problem again. They may also have not liked the way dark-green printed on trans-black looked.
Could very well be indeed. But then I think: If they can't do it right, maybe they shouldn't do it at all. If they wanted a Lotus set, there have been more than enough iconic Lotus models that might have translated better to Lego.
@WizardOfOss:
The manufacturer probably has input on what cars get produced. I’ve noticed that cars tend to fall into three categories. There’s the classics, which are usually at least 25 years old. There’s weird stuff, which can be of any era, but is usually more modern. And there’s the latest/greatest, where being even a couple years old is probably enough to get passed by. Remember that dealerships can stock these sets, where they might sell to people shopping for a real car. Maybe you can’t drive the latest Corvette home, but you can take a copy with you as you pull out in whatever boring SUV you settled for. Car manufacturers are going to want to push their flashiest models, knowing that this will bring in customers who will feel pride as they climb into their Escort or Focus because it has the same logo as the Mustang.
The other side of things is the set designers. I’ve designed several cars already, and I started slowing down a few years ago. Early on, I would say that I was going to design a truck and/or SUV, at some point. But then I started knocking a few of the more challenging items off my wish list, and I realized I don’t really want to design boxes on wheels. If the set designers wanted to be able to achieve perfect accuracy, they could stick to stuff like a late 70’s Impala, or a late 70’s Crown Vic, or a late 70’s...well, pretty much any basic sedan that looked like it was designed with a block of wood, a chisel, and a 2-minute time limit. No, these people are going to want to challenge themselves, picking vehicles that have interesting shapes that require complex construction is what’s likely to appeal to them.
I doubt the world's most successful toy company would let a tiny, continuously nearly bankrupt car manufacturer decide which model to make a set of...
And sure, designers like a challenge. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, and sometimes with good results. Just look at many other Speed Champions sets. But if it turns out it can't be done properly, just don't.

I’m pretty sure set 76898 with the Jaguars from 2020 was the first.
