Just…why!?

By in United Kingdom,

Shame it's not Spidey with the dual molded legs, but even so that is really good value for money.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Another one?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Can anybody tell how the hip joints for these are done? They don't seem to be like the older mech suits, or the ones that had to get delayed to be redesigned this year. It looks like it might be a new piece—something akin to a 1x2 plate with a ball joint on each end or something.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

And a first look at the improved hip joints from the mechs too. Set has a very good price for the amount of pieces.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Is that a new piece used for the hip joints?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Nice to get some purple mech pieces!

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's a shame that we've had so many Spider-Man mechs, but not a single one of them has been Leopardon.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It looks like the Goblin-Mech is proposing to the Spider-Mech in the second picture.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm fine with mechs as affordable sets (seriously, mainline sets are exceeding my threshold), but I'm picking a few nits:

1. Lack of dual-molded legs is disappointing.
2. That's not the costume I'd have picked for the Goblin. The mechs have largely been using comic-specific costumes and that's not GG's classic outfit.
3. It'd be nice if the Goblin mech had a detachable glider or something.

By in Singapore,

Not a fan of the pumpkin bombs being 1x1 round tiles. Maybe disc launchers would've been better than stud shooters, but they'd also have been too bulky for the otherwise kind of lanky mech.

It's worse when you remember he did have dual-molded legs in his battle with Doc Ock.

yes, it looks that a new piece

they most likely stacked 2 1x2 balljoints. If they didn't, YEAAAAAH FINALLY

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I do like how they've gone weird with the proportions on the Spider-mech. And that is definitely a new hip piece, I wonder if we'll get a proper look at that with the single mechs when they release?

If they were stacked, the joints would not be level with each other.

Or, as I understand, you can load this type of stud shooter with a stud with a bar on the side (the one that looks like a paddle) and put an actual pumpkin head piece on that bar.

By in United States,

Should've just been Goblin, we've already had 2 Spider-man mechs (3 if you count miles) and this would've gone great with the spider-man and Doc Ock one. If it had to be a 2-pack, a Spider-Gwen mech would have been preferable.

I also wish the goblin mech at least had a glider

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The original Rumour was about an Ant-man mech I wish they'd stuck with that, Spideys had more than one mech or vehicle now lego could of made other characters as mechs like Magneto, Dr Doom, Kang etc..

But the good thing about Goblins mech is it could be used as a bot for lex luther or the joker with a few tweaks!

Hero Factory has taken a new direction.

Gravatar

It was fine when there was only ONE spider man mech.
LEGO Has gone too far.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@HadesKing12: Alot of people like Mechs. Mechs sell well. Ergo, they make more.

@Lyichir said: Thats what it looks like to me too with it being a new piece.. Something with a double ball joint rather then 2 plates being stacked.

@LegoSonicBoy: I've found the new stud/tile shooters to be much better then the old ones. More powerful, accurate, and easier to use. Agree the squareness of them isn't for everyone though.

From what I can tell what we have here is actually pretty interesting.

If you look closely at Green Goblin's mech in the second image, its clear that the two ball joints are not level. The joint on the right hand side seems to be 1/3 stud higher than the one on the left. However, it also appears to be a single part, since there isn't a line to distinguish between separate elements.

I can think of 3 possibilities:
1. Lego stacked a pair of 1x2 plates with ball joint, but makes it seem like a single component in the box art (what I think is most likely)
2. Lego made a 1 x 2 x 2/3 brick with 2 unlevel joints (what the image seems to show)
3. Lego made a 1 x 2 x 2/3 brick with 2 level joints, but the box art makes them seem unlevel

I don't get why people are complaining about another Spider-Man mech, this would be my first Spidey mech (not counting Miles).

So our agile web swinger has a mech, as does the Goblin. Okay then.....

May I ask why you didn't buy the past two Spiderman mechs? I don't mean to be rude, I'm just curious why this one interests you in particular.

I didn't like the other designs as much. I kinda felt the one from 2021 was too similar to the Miles mech, and I didn't like the extra arms on the 2020 version. I like that this Spidey mech is bulkier, which makes sense if he's going up against someone bigger, plus I don't have Green Goblin. Even if I had the others I would probably get this one still get this as I enjoy mechs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Marvel mech sets are unanimously great value and builds imo, it’s just a shame that the concepts don’t interest me enough to get them.

Gravatar

*facepalm*

Gravatar
By in United States,

These things are so dorky.

But my kids like them a lot. And the Mechs average ten bucks each. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Gimme maybe a Kingpin or another classic villain we haven’t gotten yet and then Dad joins in too.

On the back of the box it looks like Spidey and the Goblin have put their differences aside. They've mech-onciled.

The photo where the ball joints aren't level also happens to be one where the whole mech isn't level, so I'd lead towards option 3. But I also don't think it'd just be 1x2x2/3, since that would give two studs as the only connection point for legs that would obviously need to be sturdy to be posable, so I think we're only seeing the bottom half of the new element

I remember that the did that for an eternals set, and the legs were uneven.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It looks like they really nailed it with the new hip joint. A single part with a ball on both ends, with a 1x2 plate built vertically into the mech will be very, very sturdy for posing them. Well done.

4th Spider-Man mech of the last like 2 years. Finally!

Mary Jane. But I guess she can just borrow one of Spider-Man’s 1000 mechs to go to the shops in.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

This is getting out of hand now their are two of them!

(Two Spider-Man mech versus sets Doc ock being other one)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The legacy of Nexo Knight Battle Suits continues.

Those 2 mechs look to have some awesome extra articulation however, knees, ankles, elbows, wrists and some cool spikes/claws.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

These two mechs are based on the mechs/monsters in the upcoming “Mech Strike: Monster Hunters” comics series.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Why do I even bother. And ANOTHER Spider-Man Mech?

Why not Ant-Man, Cyclops, Magneto, Ultron or Rhino? I think all of them would work well.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Pre-ordering is up here in the USA so I did.

Still hoping DC has some good sets coming this year; so far, they’ve got bupkis.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

On the one hand, I am enjoying the mecha line. And I'll probably buy this one as soon as it's available.

OTOH ... a 4th Spider-man mech?

Really?

Someone needs to MOC that with the LotR ring piece, maybe with each mech sporting the LGBT 1 x 1 round tile from Gargantos Showdown, and all of it ‘shopped so it looks like that was the actual box art :~P

@Romans122, I reckon it’s ‘3. Lego made a 1 x 2 x 2/3 brick with 2 level joints, but the box art makes them seem unlevel’. I just can’t imagine that LEGO would have produced mechs with leg length discrepancy.

By in United Kingdom,

Why everyone needs a mech; anakin skywalker, lucius malfoy, luigi, the cmf centaur, that city barista, huw...

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Is that Green Goblin a new one? Or a reprint from another set?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ugh… Gretchen, stop trying to make Mechs happen. It’s never going to happen.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really love these marvel mechs, and I had thought there would be a green goblin mech. The only flaws I have with this set is that green goblin does no come with a glider, and we are now getting our FOURTH spider man mech (including Miles Morales) from this mech line. This is still really cool, though!

Gravatar
By in United States,

A Ghost Spider/Spider Gwen mech would have been better, so then we would have had all three spiders from the spider verse in mech form.

If Luigi and Mario getting mecha means that we get Luigi and Mario in actual minifig form, I believe I'm speaking for everyone when I say, bring it on.

She’s too annoying and unlikable to get a Mech. Maybe hers would be powered by screams, akin to Monsters Inc.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Interestingly, an image has emerged showing the 76219 Spidey and Green Goblin mechs but with the faulty hip pieces that the forthcoming Iron Man, Wolverine and Black Panther mechs were going to have. The fact that 76219 is using this new double-ended hip piece strongly suggests the same solution will be used for IM, W and BP.

It appears to be the same torso as the Daily Bugle and Attack on the Spider Lair, however, this green goblin appears to have unprinted legs.

I'm still waiting for the Lego Friends' and Harry Potters' mechs.

(maybe I should not write that down, they might actually do it.....)

Peni Parker would make the most sense IMO but she wouldn't fit the template so that's probably why they haven't done her.

Regarding a common complaint in this thread: I don't want a Green Goblin mech that comes with a glider. I want a GG mech that transforms into one.

I guess that Peni does fit in better, and I also guess that's the reason they haven't done her

But most of the Marvel characters have had mechs at some point. Spider-Man has. Isn't there an ongoing series right now in-which all the heroes have mechs?

Spider-Man alone has had dozens of different vehicles at various points in time.
