A lot of the smaller cars would stand a better chance of getting made if part of a twin pack but without another car of the same brand this would appear unlikely to occur.
Nice idea though.
Camaro 8-stud version could be added to this list. Another one could be Senna’s McLaren F1 (the red & white one, with Marlboro sponsor), although I think it could be difficult due to the cigarette brand…
The Escort Cosworth without a doubt, though plenty of other fast Fords I'd rather have first.
I like that Renner 5 too :)
Thhhe Lancia Stratos has always been my favourite car ever, it just looks so cool, fast and powerful. This was an easy pick for me. I doubt it'll happen though, but I'm very happy to be proven wrong.
I voted Tyrrell P34 but Lancia Stratos could be a good second choice.
But I want also an Aston Martin DB5 and a DeLorean, better than Pontiac (aka KITT) :D
Renault Megane Coupe mk3 please.
Like I said yesterday, I just need a Testarossa to keep my Countach company. And don't we all?
But I'd love to see (almost) all of these, although I do think some will be pretty hard to capture well in Lego without specialized pieces.
From these, my top 5 would be:
1) Ferrari Testarossa
2) Lancia Stratos
3) Tyrrell P34
4) Renault 5 Turbo
5) Pontiac Firebird Trans Am .....in a double pack also including Smokey!
I was having a hard time deciding between the Lancia Stratos and the Lotus 25. I eventually went with the Stratos.
Mazda MPV minivan
The Lancia because of Wheeljack in Transformers.
To be honest, all of them would be brilliant!
I guess these have to be racing cars? I would love to see a 1950s Chevy or Corvette. I voted for the Shelby Cobra since it looks similar to a 50s Corvette. My apologies if I sound like an idiot with my question. I'm not a car guy.
Blue Cobra so we can have Age of Empires stuff
Speed Champions is a perennial favourite of mine, great builds that look good on display, and a price point that doesn't mean selling a kidney!
I’m one of the few who are voting for the Lotus 25, it just reminds me of when motorsport was far more ‘real’ than the corporate affair it is today, and I think it would look amazing at Speed Champs scale, and who doesn't love the Lotus team colours.
How about another vote on which of the 6 stud wide Speed Champions should be re-made at 8 stud scale? 75877 Mercedes-AMG GT3……. Yes please.
Ford Edsel. Because why not? ;-)
In reality: I say a line of older cars would be awesome. Rolls Royce Phantom (Mk II or III) That way, we can have the black MK II from Last Crusade ("and I even like the color!") or the yellow MK III from Goldfinger, maybe with OddJob and / or Auric Goldfinger as figures. Maybe Indiana Jones' Duesenberg from Temple of Doom in the mix as well?
Why isn't there an "all of the above" option? When six studs was the norm, they only sort of looked like the actual car, and that look was heavily dependent on the stickers and printed parts. Now, with 8 studs being standard, they do a great job of looking like the actual car.
That's a tough choice - the Bugatti typre 35 & the E-type are great choices, but I eventually plumped for the Tyrrell P34.
Im happy this list is mostly older race cars, i'd love some more Group B rally cars. They're a perfect blend of playability for kids, and display pieces for adults.
Lotus 25. I know very little about any of these but I don't think they've done one of those "bullet" style cars before?
For nostalgic reasons, Renault 5 Turbo all the way!
Lamborghini Miura for me - the first supercar, and quite possibly the most beautiful car of all time.
If I limit myself to the list however then it'd have to be the E-type Jag.
Lotus 25 would be my choice. Also the E-Type, although I think that might be just too curvy for Lego to capture!
Escort would be hard to recognise in Lego form... looking like a BMW impersonator in the photo!
Not a car guy, but that 3rd one makes me think of thunderbird 2.
Now if they make Bessie form the Five Doctors!!!
Just market it as whatever the car type it but have the figures be the 3rd Doctor and Sarah Jane! Like the bond one we're gonna get in the summer wave.
Lotus 25. It's a classic Colin Chapman designed car and the Minifigure should be named as Jim Clark, the only driver to win F1 Grand Prixs in it (14 to be precise)
Probably an unpopular opinion, but, as a society, I wish we could move away from the glorification of cars and the selfish impatience that comes with them.
Just saying, we need more rally cars and more french manufacturers in SC.
@AgentKallus said:

Now that's a desperately needed theme.... Vehicles, Buildings, BrickHeadz, Art!
Renault 5, but would have to be a 6 stud wide to match the fiesta RS. Also need the Cosworth, with the crazy whale fin rear wing.
The type 35 and Lotus 25look interesting. It would be neat to see something different like that from SC...
But I had to vote for the Lancia Stratos because Wheeljack.
Very tough to choose just one but I settled on the 77 Firebird as I grew up loving that car. Just iconic through and through. Shelby Cobra a very close 2nd. Would love to see a 67 fastback mustang in 8 wide one day. A Bullitt version would be fantastic.
No Japanese cars.... Could have added at least the Mazda 787B...
Well, my top 5:
1. Lancia Stratos HF
2. Tyrrell P34
3. Renault 5 Turbo
4. Ferrari Testarossa
5. Bugatti Type 35
Enough with US cars for a while.
The short list for me: AC Shelby Cobra, 1984 Ferrari Testarossa, Lancia Stratos HF and the 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.
Out of those I chose the Lancia Stratos, because that one came to mind when reading the latest Speed Champion reviews.
if I could have picked 2 it would have been the Trans am and The AC cobra. That being said why the 1977 Trans Am? It should be the 1978 in Black with a gold Screaming Chicken ( thats the firebird for you non-old car guys) decal that is a huge pain to put on just like the real car! I picked it the TA because as much as well all love Ferrari's I would like to see continued diversity in the speed champions line.
The AC cobra is close second but I think the rounded shape could be difficult to render.
I tend to agree with you, but I also think some of these cars look like works of art, especially the older ones where they look less same-y because of the air resistance constraints.
1984 Ferrari Testarossa! MUST HAVE. Lancia ain't too bad either ;)
Seeing the votes.. as much as I'd love the Shelby Cobra, I just don't think lego has the pieces (yet) to make it look good enough, same as the e-type. (like the corvette last year that lacked many curves) But 'd like to be proven wrong in the future
The top 3 so far (Cobra, Trans Am, Testarossa) are my top 3 choices as well. I went with the third, as it seems the perfect companion to this year's Countach. The Cobra's shape might not be done proper justice in SC scale, a Creator Expert version might be better. The rally cars might be cool as a set of 2 (or 3!).
Interesting to see the disparity between the comments & the polling at this point
Where’s the all of the above option?
I went with the Trans Am because my inner mulleted dirtbag commanded it.
The Lotus, Renault, and Testarossa would be by next picks. All of these cars are worthy.
I voted for the the Cobra because it’s one of my all time dream cars (although as a nascar and dodge fan it was hard to pass on the Charger Daytona).
I really wish the Shelby Daytona Coupe (cobra) was an option as that is my all time dream car if I was a trillionaire.

Youre talking about EVs right?
I chose the Lotus 25. I figured it'd be the easiest to transform into the car Patrick McGoohan drove at the beginning of The Prisoner!
The Stratos and the Trans-am. I've been saying for a couple of months how I don't want Speed Champions to do movie cars, but I'm now going to be a massive hypocrite and say they should do a Trans-am based on the car from Smokey and the Bandit.
how about a Land Rover Defender... the real one?! (in speed champion scale)
AC Shelby Cobra! It's so iconic. I'd like to see it in dark blue with the white racing stripes.
I was scrolling through the options, 'maybe, maybe, maybe' and then the Lancia showed up - instant vote, no question at all. I think the shape of it could be done quite well in LEGO bricks, maybe more so than some of the others.
I voted for the Cobra, but I would really love to see the Jaguar EType in black so I can make it into a hearse like in Harold and Maude.
How about a Crown Vic to chase all these Speed Champions down

jaguar E-Type is Diabolik's car <3
Except for the formula one cars (sorry, not interested in those at all), I'd take any, or rather all, of these. But the Testarossa is one of my all-time favorite cars, so I voted for it. Having said that, an R5 Turbo would be an instant buy as well.
EDIT: Oh, as would be the Stratos :)

"DeLorean DMC12 ( regular version )"
If only the Speed Champions team was responsible for the Lego Ideas design...because that Back to the Future DeLorean in Lego Ideas was one of the worst changes from a fan-submitted design. That non-sloped front of the vehicle looks absolutely terrible. The car deserves better!
Fiat 126p

Or, since TLG likes doing movies lately, how about a Blues Brothers two-pack?
The Stratos since it would translate well into LEGO imho.
1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am all day every day.
Since the Crown Vic was mentioned; here are some high-performance police cars that I think would be a good fit.
Ford Mustang Special Service Package
Dodge Charger Pursuit
Camaro 9C1
Rover SD-1
However, I'd love a scaled-down version of 8214 for Speed Champions; or its current successor, the Huracan. Never got it, but I eventually picked up the Matchbox version, and now own quite a few versions of the casting.
The P34 gives of "rebuild the world" vibes, but every car listed has a good backstory as to why they should be a set. Definitely short on rally cars but with older ones maybe it has to do more with the sponsors and liveries. I doubt we'll see a Marlboro Red Lancer Evo 4 anytime soon. The Audi S1 is missing almost all stickers including Castrol...which is printed on the Fiesta. Shell is never shown on the Porsche 917 racecar so maybe sponsors and IP are factors.
We do need better history and Japanese motor vehicle representation too.
Id love to see a 1936 Toyoda Model AA with a small history note on the car. Like the HP specs on the early speed champions. Let's get some history lessons
The Lancia Stratos would be awesome, but it must have its classic Alitalia livery... and that could be a problem, given the sorry state of the company.
Maybe LEGO can start a dedicated sub theme called "Rally Champions" (you heard it here first lol)
Or Pre 80s cars for a "History of Speed"

I think LEGO could still do them. Hot Wheels, in the premium lines, has often reworked liveries on recent rally cars (Rothman's Porsche, and the Lancia 037 come to mind) that featured alcohol or tobacco to omit them.
Also, instead of the occasional polybag, I think there should be a "mini" range of Speed Champions at Tiny Turbos scale.
Voted for the Lancia but the Tyrrell would be a close second.
Hey, little Cobra, don't you know you're gonna shut 'em down?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc6FmZCT0Zc
I'd also like to see the Daytona just to see how they did the spoiler, the Trans Am just to see how they did the nose, and the Tyrell just to see what they used for the front wheels. (Speaking of which, a couple of people said the Lancia because of Wheeljack, but nobody's mentioned voting for the Tyrell because of Drag Strip. C'mon guys, Decepticons need love, too!)
LANCIA STRATOS..... mythical
Wish they would focus a bit more on JDM, something like a GR86 22' and a RAV4 two pack, RX7/8, S2000, R32, etc
None. "Peugeot 205 T16/Turbo 16" instead.
1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am because four words: Smokey and the Bandit. Going to get me a Diablo Sandwich.
I just want a 8-stud wide WRC rally car. Shame Renault 5 Turbo and Ford Escort RS Cosworth are so low.
Lego doesn't lend itself particularly well to rounded shapes (the E-Type Jaguar, for example) so something more angular would be more than acceptable. My vote goes to the Lancia Stratos - basically wedge-shaped, colourful and with a huge potential with those front-mounted lights.
Would like to see some Fiat love from LEGO at some point, like the Fiat Dino coupe.
Voted for the Stratos, but would honestly love any of these.
Stratos for me but would really like the Delta HF Integrale..could look super realistic in 8 wide format
As had been said by others :
Trans am in twin pack with 'smokey'
Love love love ??

Maybe the Shelby Cobra and Ford Escort pack? They could probably make that one work.
Disappointed that there aren't more classic and vintage cars :(.
I voted for the Bugatti 35. The Jaguar E type would be a great set, not sure why Lego hasn't done it before. A 1950 Jaguar XK would also make a great set, perhaps they could do a vintage Jaguar double pack.
The Lotus 25 would be good, especially in a race with another 1950s/1960s F1 'cigar' car as I call them.
One thing I do think Lego should do, for any car of any era, is include pieces so that it can be converted from a racing car to a regular civilian car (where appropriate).
Removing the white stripe on the 1968 Ford Fastback was really annoying, I had to go out and specially buy two Classic green brick packs just to get the four 1x2 in dark green needed. It wouldn't have been that hard to include those in the set...
Not a car guy, but I think the Bugatti might add a new take to the line.
I can't help but notice that none of these are a White Chevy Corvette C1 with a classic space astronaut in the driver seat.
I hope they go back and remake some of the original ones that were done before they switched over to 8 wide. I'd like to have the bigger versions of them too!

True, that would work.
Speed Champions, as a line, has a history of matching classic and modern cars so I'm sure they could shoe-horn some combination to justify all of them (hopefully).
Except for the Homer Simpsons designed 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona perhaps.
Fiat Panda and Opel Kadet please
Renault Alpine A110, either the old or the new version.
Until then, I could live with the Bugatti Type 35.
The bandit's Pontiac Firebird Trans Am for me. That was my favorite Hot Wheels car as a kid.
The mods deleted my LEGO Yoda meme joke... is this a strictly serious thread or am I missing something? If not...
The 2001 Honda Civic would be a great Speed Champion, could be with the first singular one to have two Minifigures; Yoda and a child corpse. :P :P :P
My loyalties lie with NASCAR, 1969 Daytona for the win!
Lancia Stratos and Lotus 25 for sure! We've only had one rally car in the new 8 stud format, and the Lotus is a great example from a golden age of F1 and I've always loved these old style of cars
Oh my goodness, the Trans-Am!!! Breaker Breaker, I'm in hot pursuit of the Bandit!
2nd vote - the Testarossa for Magnum, P.I.
Escort and Renault have my vote.
I love rally cars. The Audi is one of my favorites this far.
As an old-school Transformers fan, the Lancia Stratos gets my vote. I could also go for an '82 Trans Am, a car any kid who watched TV in the 80's should be familiar with...
Ferrari - might have to be a colour other than red, don't want two red ferraris right. (Knowing how many ferraris they can and might do, it may be...Inevitable.
Jag E-type and
Pontiac firebird.

I re-modeled my Mustang into a '66, white, 8stud standard pony. Took some try and error and a lot of time for the perfect angles tho :D
To the threads topic:
TransAm because of angles. TLG isn't ready for a great E-Type, sadly.
My suggestion, as I've just finished my own version:
1997 Dodge Viper GTS coupé.
In classic blue with the double white stripes.
For everyone who played NFS in the 2000's ;)
I like the Lancia Stratos hf, and this is the idea, https://ideas.lego.com/s/p:e3509462ee3b420891d57805e7bf8fd4
It would be really cool if the next Speed Champions were a bus, a train, a cargo bike, or anything else that looks ahead and symbolizes humanity's transition away from cars. Cars are done.
It was no contest for me…I’ve always loved the Jag behind a few other car’s backs. Forgive me, Dodge and Ford!!!

If the ‘82 Firebird Trans Am has the correct wheels with bowling ball hubcaps, they can shut up and take my money.
It's the E-Type, because of Emma Peel obviously, but I'd be happy to see any of them - there's nothing wrong with the modern supercars in the last couple of waves, but the variety of the older and different car types has been the real highlight of collecting Speed Champs for me.
1998 Subaru Impreza WRX STi 22B please!
Had to decide between the Lancia and the Testarossa. Decided to go with the Lancia because, ya know, Wheeljack.
McLaren F1 ... Epic true speed champion car for mamy years, of course I'm talking about 1993-1998 car.. this one should be added
@mrforcepower said:
"Ferrari - might have to be a colour other than red, don't want two red ferraris right."
How about white....including two minifigs of Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas....
Or maybe even a double pack including the remains of the Daytona replica after the explosion :-)
I voted for Ferrari Testarossa because it's my favourite in the list, but after reading the interview with Chris Stamp I doubt it would be one of their priorities since there's nothing particularly unusual or special about it.
My absolute dream car would be a Lotus Esprit Turbo, but I doubt this particular car would become a Speed Champion for the reasons described above.
My picks:
Delorean DMC-12
GMC Vandura Van
1993 Jeep Wrangler Sahara YJ
Civilian Hummer
FL-86 Freightliner (Oh wait....)
Yellow Volkswagen Beetle
Clearly I've got a theme going. All I can say is, just wait till we get to August.
I’d love a standard vintage vehicle range but i guess that’s part of a long desired golden age theme.
Trans Am. Because, Smokey and the Bandit!
I could really handle seeing a Kenworth rig at the SC scale too... maybe a GMC from Smokey II with an Elephant :-)
A range of scale Trucks would be nice now I think about it.
The charger could be in a double pack with the newer version.
Where's the "All of them" option. This is like Sophie's Choice!
I'd love a Renault 5 Turbo but suspect with Renault pivoting to Alpine as their motorsport brand, the necessary licensing agreement might be unlikely.
The Peugeot in the other poll jogged my memory of the Peugeot Quasar from 1984. I had a Matchbox diecast of it and the futuristic design blew my mind back then and still looks fantastic. It would make a great Speed Champions set, but being a concept car only, it's never gonna happen. At least's there's a good MOC design on Rebrickable.
I’d like to see all of these released!
THE. LOT.
Well, maybe not the Renault 5 or the Cosworth...
But definitely the Lancia, the Tyrrell, and then do Austin Powers' Sh*guar!
I forgot to mention this in my previous comment, but someone else reminded me. A Volkswagen beetle would be fabulous! I have absolutely no idea how they could build such a smooth sloping car, but I would love to add it to my collection! Bonus points if they were able to model it after Herbie!
I didn't see a choice for "All of the above".
I. Am. An idiot...I voted, for the Charger; but as I hit 'vote': THAT'S when I saw the Tyrrell...ARRGGG!!!
I wanted that design for sooooo long because of its 'look' and uniqueness (seriously, the only other tandem-wheeled racer I can think of is a March 2-4-0...well, and Semis)...Oh well, once your keys go in the lava, you can't get them back...:)
Love to see a Jag E-Type but can't see it working well in Lego without new parts ie windshield, so went for Pontiac instead. Would rather see Triumph TR4, Aston Martin DB5/7or 9, Lotus Elan, or MGB GT though..... please?
Does my top choice have to be one of the cars listed?
How about a 1966 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport with 427 V8 engine?
If there is a Renault 5 there definitely should be a 205t16. Don't know why it got shot down from the Lego Ideas Program
Like I said on the other article, I really want a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado, but for now I'd go with the Pontiac or Daytona
Tyrell P34 as a classics F1 + Stratos HF as classic rally + Shelby AC Cobra as classic roadster
@krysto2002:
How about a 3-pack of gold ink Corvettes with their respective Apollo 12 astronauts?
@fulcrumbop:
Magnum drove three different Ferrari 308’s, depending on the season. I don’t think a Testarossa was ever shown on-screen (certainly never as one of Robin’s cars). There was a white one on Miami Vice. Maybe that’s what you’re thinking of?
@lotographia:
On the contrary, the Testarossa may be too difficult to model, due to the strakes in the doors. Most MOCs that I’ve seen use wedge plates, but that makes your doors two studs thick. On an 8-wide, that only leaves four studs for seating, and we all know they can’t manage two seats in such limited space. The strakes also require finer resolution than plates are capable of at that scale. That basically leaves stickers or print as the only two options to get that distinctive look right.
@PhantomBricks:
I’ve done a 4-seater* vintage Beetle in 6-wide. Herbie is a bit of a problem because there’s a 1x2 rail plate in the center of the trunk, and it’d need to be split down the center to pull off Herbie’s racing stripes.
*Front seats fit full minifigs, but back seat passengers need fake legs due to insufficient headroom…just like the real deal.
How about triple car speed champions?
Escort Cosworth
Sierra 3 door Cosworth
Sierra sapphire Cosworth
They could come in street form or stickered up race car
Just a thought ??
I voted for the E-Type but the McLaren F1 (not the Formula 1 car but the road car that also ended up winning rates including the 24 Hours of Le Mans) would be a must-buy.
@PurpleDave said:

Because that's not a Heavy Metal reference.
Oh sure! Lancia Stratos, Escort Cosworth AND Renault 5 are ALL on the same poll. TBH, all 3 should be made to go with the Audi Quattro, a Rally sub theme of Speed Champions.????
Lotus Esprit S1, please!
