HERO Factory microsite updated
Posted by Huw,
The Hero Factory microsite at LEGO.com has been updated recently and now contains wallpapers, information about the products (including instructions), as well as all the usual cool stuff that LEGO put in their product microsites.
I guess this means their release is imminent -- the UK retailers' catalogue says August so we could be looking at a mid-July release from LEGOShop.com.
Thanks to whung, who pointed out the the recently discovered limited edition set, 7179, is included on the site as well.

TRU has them available for purchase.

@ncbarrett: OMG! TRU calls them "LEGO BIONICLE Hero"!!! BIONICLE!!! IN HERO FACTORY!!! ARRRRGH!!!
@alemas: yes, store websites do that sometimes, they even say that MEGABLOCKS are LEGOs! augh!
anyway, the site looks really cool now, as do the sets. I haven't seen the movies yet, but they already look cool. for some reason, the site reminds me of exo-force. weird.
A warm thank you to huw for his hard work but he needs to be my friend
@Alemas...Now that is LOL funny! Even the TRU product buyers aren't fooled by "stipes on a horse".
looked at all the instructions and none of them looks appealing to me. I dont like the fact that the some of the 'heroes' have an arm+weapon piece instead of having them separately. And the worse is that second 'bulk' figule who has two of those weird 'arms'
I think Lego wouldn't have had a lot of pessimistic fans (like me) if they still called it bionicle but something like bionicle in the late future or something....just my idea if I was to buy these...
I saw one (one!) at my local TRU (Washington DC area) last weekend. There was no price tag for them on any shelf I could find, and the one I saw was lying on top of other merchandise near the Bionicle display area. The one I saw was in a slightly squared off package about the same size and shape as the Bionicles, but it clearly said Hero Factory.
@jinxjinx550: so...did you get it? id like to know the price....
The HERO FACTORY heros are avalible at Toys R Us website. They look cool, but I wish Stringer had another black hand. I'm trying to make a Black BIONICLE Glatorian, and this is not helping it. Besides, the only decent black colored being is a toa from 2007! So disapointed by the instructions avalible from the mini-site. (Hey, Huw? Can you put those instructions into the database? Just wondering.) Here is the link to TRU: http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3686922&view=all
@alemas They sort of are the same thing as bionicle...
how can you confuse lego with MEGA BLOCKS?????? lego is Far better!
@Dlakii yes, sadly you are right, the later years of BIONICLE were not very good, but this hit the nail on the head
*sigh*
@Dlakii: I completely agree, I also used to buy those action figures, but from 2006 to now, a lot of re-using and juniorization has been done with them. This is completely different of what Bionicle used to be.
I wonder why Lego don't do anything appealing to TFOLS who used to buy the Original Bionicle. In my opinion, it sadly has no interest for those consumers.
I found Duncan Bulk and the others at my toysrus Saturday.
I think bionicle was more about building before, now it's (was) more about the missile launchers on every model
It's gone form being a model to build AND play with, to being a model just to play with.
Nothing will ever replace Bionicle, true, but saying how its terrable does not help either. besides if HF is so not like bionicle, then why would everyone say,"HF is nothing like bionicle" well if it was nothing like bionicle you wouldn't even need to say that it isn't! lets just give it a chance, besides the pieces look nice so i will pick some up and use their pieces to modify my own bionicles, Bio may not live in stores. but it still lives on in our hearts. Cheers.
Not badly said M8 :)
Hero Factory is the continuation to the last Bionicle sets. It is like Bionicle, like the last ones. The main difference from a series to other were always (since 2006) the new pieces. Then Hero Factory is just like a new Bionicle series.
Yes HF is ALMOST the same but the story is WAY different, again;
''I think bionicle was more about building before, now it's (was) more about the missile launchers on every model
It's gone form being a model to build AND play with, to being a model just to play with''
HF's story isn't completely here yet. But the concept is in fact different.
the boxes have bionicle wriiten on it......
Do they? if so thats cruel, reminding us of the past :)
They have written "from the same creators of the Bionicle characters".
