By in Belgium,

Although I'm looking forward to seeing it in action at a Lego Store, I doubt I'll ever get it, not only because of its price (even if I guess it will be discounted at some point), but also because of its footprint (space is becoming limited in my city) and overall look of the ride. Don't get me wrong, I find it fascinating in terms of engineering, but it's just imbalanced, unlike the other roller coaster.

By in Netherlands,

Hi, the link to lego.com is not working.

By in Czechia,

In the end I decided to get it at some point, most likely at some 20-30% discount point :)

By in Poland,

Rollercoastes are not my thing, but this set is really well built, has great colours and plenty of tracks. If i had the money and space I would buy it asap. And maybe made it into some space mining moc. Really great set LEGO!

By in Australia,

Am I the only one that thinks this is extremely ugly? At least the tall tower bit on the left is.

Liking the new track pieces. Now here is hoping that they will eventually also be released in grey (to be compatible with my other track)

By in Canada,

I am tempted. What I don't understand is the height of this thing. Someone produced a MOC of this with the exact same two loops and it did not need to start from that high a point - it looked a lot more like the previous roller coaster (just slightly higher) and looked more balanced as a result. I'm sure they(Lego designers) tested it but I still don't get it why there is such a difference between the two versions.

With the end of Bricks and Pieces, we lost access to so many great pieces. Here’s hoping that PAB will expand its offerings (like these new rails) soon.

You're from the future, aren't you? ;)

By in South Africa,

take care it doesn't come with battery pack or motor

By in Canada,

I’m not sure I love it at that price. It does look fantastic. Unfortunately space as with others is an issue. I still have the previous one new in box.

Can’t wait to see someone MOC the two together if they haven’t already. Would imagine we will see some cool creations come as a result of this set.

By in Spain,

No power functions, too expensive, too big!

Looks cool, but after 10 minutes, I think it would get very boring.

Go for it, by all means, if it is your thing!

By in United States,

This will be the first of the amusement park rides I won't be purchasing. Every other ride was so spot on, but this is just bizarre. Agree with the other comments about being unbalanced and not fitting in. If you watch the video of the man "playing" with it on the Lego shopping site, the tower seems quite unstable as he cranks the car up to the top. Seems to twist and sway a bit. Maybe my mind will change when I see it in person at my local store this weekend, but I just don't know.

My son is 4 and will see this at The Lego Store and demand it. Not looking forward to an upset child when I say "No". Hopefully a much less expensive set will satisfy him...until our next visit.

I am not a fan of roller coasters, so I'm wondering: do rides like this exist IRL? That initial corkscrew and that oval loop look designed to empty out your stomach. I guess that's how they sell you popcorn twice?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I totally love this. But can I find space for it, is the big question?!??

By in United Kingdom,

Clicking together 222 chain links should test your patience! There are 42 roller-coaster track pieces compared to 37 in the previous set, although 10 are used for the vertical counterweight and station roof, so the distance traveled by the roller-coaster is actually less.

By in United States,

I'm still honestly surprised they didn't include the motor and battery at this price, even before the reported price increases.

I'm not a Day 1 purchasor for all of these big sets. I need a great GWP or sale. Otherwise, I tend to buy just before it retires.

By in Poland,

Yeah, if (Big if) I'm going to drop that much money on a Lego set, it'll be on 10305

Gravatar
By in United States,

That's a lot of money.

By in United Kingdom,

I love the bottom section, but the tower is just too tall for me.
However I will look forward to seeing the reviews as I love rollercoaster sets.

That's pretty much the goal of any good rollercoaster, to push boundaries as far as they can. Loops, corkscrew effect in loops, vertical drops, teetering over vertical drops. You name it they'll do it if it can cause that effect. There's one where you go from 0 to something like 120mph in seconds. You go vertically up, it twists you round, and then you drop vertically. It's all about assaulting the senses. Heck they even try and design the safety equipment so that you're safe but that you feel that you aren't.
