Double VIP points at LEGO.com

Posted by ,

LEGO is offering double VIP points today and tomorrow, to coincide with Amazon's Prime Day, no doubt.

It has also reduced the prices of a few items by 10-20%, but don't get too excited, it's mainly stuff that they can't shift at full price and Vidiyo!

It's always super interesting to see what sets get reduced. The unloved 10290 Pickup Truck has 20% off.

Guess it’s time to cave and buy the Falcon before the price hike.

How Lego responds to Prime Day. Clever

To my surprise Lego in Japan down Republic gunship 75309 to 33584yen (around $250).

80035 marked down to international prices + double VIP points is a lucky snag in my book, especially before the price hike.

The 80035 Monkie Kid Galactic Explorer, reduced from $130 to $110, is a great set. Everyone should get a copy to go with their 10497 Galaxy Explorer.

Ha ha ha ha. Lego's response to Prime Day is to give worse discounts on sets nobody wants anyway?! Showing just how out of touch they are even more than the price hike.

Vidiyo bandmates still at over £10! I bought most of them at £5 from Amazon and B&M. And the Vidiyo Stages "discounted" to still more than I paid at Amazon more than 6 months ago.

VIP points along with GWP only soften the blow for the sets you can't get anywhere else. Not an incentive for me to buy from them.

I got the creator 3in1 castle at Smyths last week for £70 if anyone is after it and if the promotion is still on.

You say that as if Vidiyo isn't a strict subset of "stuff they can't shift at full price"...

I have a feeling Godot will turn up before the Titanic is ever back in stock!

They're also offering "Santa's Front Yard" as a GWP for purchased of $170 or more.

Might get the 10297 hotel, if it's still in stock. Half a year and still only available from lego stores at MSRP (Poland)....

20% off isn't too bad for some of the more decent or exclusive sets. If I hadn't spent a fortune at Amazon I may consider that truck....... Mind you why get up to 44% off at Amazon and get it next day when you can get 20% off (plus 10% back in VIP points of the thing thats now 80% so I assume 8% back?) and wait 2 weeks for it. Bless them.

The limited sale, double points, and the Santa's Front Yard (40484) GWP might not be too exciting to a lot of us, but I’m just glad to see LEGO actually competing with another company - seems like that’s been a rare occurrence…

I hope someone gets a good deal today!

This would have been a good time to buy the remaining JWD sets I am missing but, money is for other things.

Also the red windscreens and helm visors are great for some Space-Police 1 inspired things.

I wouldn't call the Pickup Truck unloved per se, but I've not gone for it for two reasons based on seeing and handling it in person; it's rather fragile and the abundance of dark red is a huge minefield of pieces in different shades of the colour. Which is a shame as I do like dark red, but am all too aware of it being the worst colour when it comes to consistency."

mine was surprisingly consistent, and I know what you are talking about from past sets all too well. there are some parts made of other material, that are slighty off, but the normal ABS parts have no visible difference under common light conditions.
