By in Belgium,

The sunset looks fantastic! If it wins, instabuy :-)

By in United Kingdom,

Congratulations to the finalists - all nicely done and far in excess of my own talent. None are sets I would buy personally though, so I didn't vote.

By in United States,

I liked the sunset until I realized how 3d it was. I'd love to see that done as 2d or near-2d like Starry Night.

By in United Kingdom,

The station wagon vacation looks the most interesting build, and evokes the most childhood memories of traveling long distances by car when air-travel was just for businessmen.

By in Poland,

None of these make me think 'yes, that's FAMILY situation'. The closest would be family tree, but people hanging from a tree doesn't seem like a good idea, especially for certain, more sensitive markets. The family pictures look like most of the parts would go to build black boxes which is a waste of bricks. The vacation scene is great but it's totally US centric and looks more like a vacation scene than a family scene. The sunset has absolutely no 'family celebrtion' vibe, it's a summer postcard. I realize this wasn't a easy subject to capture in brick form, but I'm surprised what lego has chosen as a final four.

By in United Kingdom,

Family... those people who used to bug me when I wanted peace to play with my Lego...

... until I became an adult, moved out, got my own place, and can play with my Lego as much as I want, now.

By in Australia,

Congrats to all the finalists.
What a great idea and competition!
I think that the sunset is gorgeous, and the vacation with the car by the water is nice and would be the most interesting build ….. but that family tree is awesome!
Hoping the winner won’t be stupidly expensive in Australia … or an almost in reachable GWP threshold!! Sadly, most sets released these days fall into one of these two categories! :(

By in United Kingdom,

I’m surprised Lego genuinely felt these were the best four. I remember viewing some of the entries before the competition closed and thought a few were quite good. Unfortunately I wouldn’t buy any of these, and the piece count seems too high for a GWP. I hope I’m wrong on the latter point.

By in United Kingdom,

The sunset reminds me of times gone by and family now departed. May not be quite what was intended but I absolutely love it.

Although the look does appear to rely more heavily on lighting than on the bricks themselves

Per the article, it’s going to be a set for sale at Target and LEGO.com. Not a GWP.

By in Portugal,

Love them all but Sunset is a work of Art!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like the sunset one best because of the artistry and because it’d be very easily turned into NOT about family, a subject that’s not especially important or relevant to my life.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I voted for the one that I would actually buy and and display in my house, which is the Family Pictures.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Interesting competition, although I feel like none of them represent family to me - 'family' is too much of an individual experience to be represented broadly. I hope it's not branded as anything to do with the word 'family', but if I had to pick one I'd go with the sunset as it is probably the most aesthetically pleasing one.

By in United States,

What, no mushroom cloud?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I hope the family tree is the one chosen simply because it will make red leaves accessible. Otherwise I don't really care. They all look nice, but I'm not sure I would buy them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The sunset scene to me feels like a lot of complex building for too simple of an image, and one that doesn't really tie much to the theme. The family tree seems fairly literal but also charming and appealing, and could be a great autumn foliage pack.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sunset theme seems sad IDK why. Like one of the minifigures passed away :'(

I like the station wagon with river. Nice family adventure and very playable.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The sad thing to me about the sunset build is that the palm tree uses the classic palm tree trunk technic pieces, which I expect will not be in the final product. :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

The family tree is pretty awesome. Like the other ones as well, but I voted for that.

Gravatar
By in United States,

In the first picture frame, look at the chiseled abs of that dad taking his family to the beach! Unfortunately unable to relate to that one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@PhantomBricks:
“We don’t currently make red leaves, so we subbed in a common color.”

Tell me I’m wrong.

@domboy:
I mean, you’re not wrong, but as I’ve started tinkering around with the Flintstones palm tree design, and the possibilities with modding that, I don’t mind as much. I’m not happy that my first design is already obsolete, since it involved jamming bars into the pins on the middle segment of the dino tail, and those now have rectangular holes. Looking at the overall design, I’m sure that was done on purpose, since the hole doesn’t seem to bottom out, and the overall shape means it has to curve. I wonder how many unhappy phone calls they’ve taken involving a bar that got jammed in the pin where it became impossible to remove.

@legoapprentice:
I was too distracted by the horror fest in the Eiffel Tower frame. Are those actual minifig face designs? Yeesh!

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Got banned on Lego ideas platform and they won't let me back on, so to me family would be allowing me to vote in the first place. :)

I was just being hopefully as I wouldn't buy them. As a standard set I can't see it selling very well, unless it is very cheap.

By in United States,

I mean, I’ll vote for a red tree so I can buy a dozen red trees…

But the sunset is pretty cool.

@CCC:
The one on the left might be half-clown, and the kid looks like he might hail from South Park.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@PurpleDave:

That's a fair assessment of what would likely happen. As long as they keep the foliage density, I would be happy with greens, pink, and yellows. I'm sure they won't have so many bluebirds(if any). My biggest fear is that this is going to be another $100+ set though.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The one I like the most: sunset
The one I would actually want to buy: vacation car

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I loved the actual family tree, because it would look beautiful in a Lego City park setting, as well as being a cool family-themed model in its own right.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Assuming Lego would bring back the palm tree trunk parts, I would immediately vote for the sunset - I doubt this will happen.

The station wagon is more representative of something I did with my family when we were all younger.

I'll wait to see the final product but as it is, I doubt I would buy this set no matter what is the finale selection.

By in United States,

Not really a fan of any of them. Side note they need to release a minifigure scale target bullseye dog. German shepherd in white with bullseye print. They had the buildable one with a giftcard awhile back.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Capybara554321:
They had two giftcard Bullseye sets. The second one had instructions for three different models, but I believe it also included an extra part that was only needed if you wanted to build the previous year's model. I missed the first version, but was able to snag enough of the second to build every model.

Original: 4620157
3-in-1: 4659758

I remember hearing that the parts in the original were prone to splitting.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I voted for the station wagon. But the buildable photo frames seem cool as well.
Not a fan of the sunset whatsoever.

Gravatar
By in Romania,

Station wagon is my favorite, but they need to trim and slim down the base a bit.

All LEGO is 3D ;)

WHERE'S VIN DIESEL

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I’ll have the station wagon (family truckster), but in green and brown. While you’re at it Lego if you can make the minifigs resemble the “Griswalds” I’d be even happier :)

"A Little Moment of Happiness by Seb_E" - could double as the final scene in, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
