BaM Christmas minifigs now available

Posted by ,

Three exclusive Christmas minifigures are now available at the Build-a-Minifigure stations in brand stores, one of which is attired in a new festive jumper!

Mrs Claus

Mrs Claus, however, is created using existing components but nevertheless she's an attractive minifigure.

Her alternate expression is identical other than her eyes, which perhaps look a bit weary after a hard night's work!

Gingerbread woman

The edible lady makes a welcome return following her only other appearance in 2019's Winter Village set 10267 Gingerbread House.

Young guitarist

This one is the most interesting of the three on account of the torso which BrickLink has listed as exclusive to Build-a-Minifigure. The guitar is relatively uncommon, too.

It looks as if he's trying to do an Elvis impersonation...

In the UK they are £5.99 for the three, and you'll probably find them already packed in a blister pack by the till.

My experience is when you go to the Lego store you won't find any of the parts you need in the build a minifig. You can find all sorts of parts but you won't find the parts for minifigures like these.
Once I spend a half an hour looking for new parts that were supposed to be there but I didn't find a single one. lego can better sell these as a giftset.

That’s been my experience for some of the more popular pieces such as animals and the recent falcon knight torso, but with the holiday parts such as these and the Halloween and Easter waves, they typically have prebuilt 3-packs available.

Not the greatest if you just want several of one, but it can save effort especially during crowded times. “Why are all these kids in the Lego store?”

I actually saw these exact three figures pre-packaged in the LEGO Store in Utrecht last weekend. So they appear to be readily available. I didn't feel like standing in line for the cash register, but will likely go back in the next week, especially knowing the sweater print is unique to this set of minifigs.

Picked these up on November 1st.

In the UK The Southampton Lego Store (which is also where i guess @huw got these as its his local) they have them pre-built in packs. The store colleague told me they had three big boxes of prebuilt ones they got them last Friday :)

"The Christmas jumper is nice. The other two figures are a bit boring, especially Mrs Claus as the key parts (hat and torso) have been available for ages."

One of the reasons I hesitated picking it up, was because of the Mrs. Claus figure. Last year's cancelled Christmas GWP had a much better Mrs. Claus. Had that been included here, I might have even waited in line to pay for it. :-) (But as I wrote above, might go back next week and pick it up after all.)

My advice is to make a relationship with someone in your local store. For me, it wasn't really a choice. I've been going to the same store for so long and spent SO much money that I couldn't help but do so. Plus, I've coached little league sports for many years and the kids I coach always get a kick out of seeing 'Coach' in a toy store. So, I'm popular at my store.

Once you have a relationship (or even if you don't), just ask for what you want. Sometimes, they can't abide. Yet, that is rarely the case. They want to make you happy and sell you toys!

That’s been my experience as well. I’ve shown them pictures of the minifigure I was trying to build, and they went in the back and had all the parts in boxes that they use to restock the BAM kiosk. Just have to ask.

Yep. Often they will ask you. When they had the dark grey and black dual-molded legs, I responded that I wanted to ungrade my Imperial officer corps. Suddenly, I had three different employees searching everywhere to try to help accumulate the parts.

I confirm I went to Lego Store Den Haag today, they are available "packed in a blister pack by the till", for 6,49 EUR/pack.

Creepy little gingerbread lady is serving a cookie, but no one asks if it's one of her children.

By in United States,

I'm so glad the gingerbread lady is making a return, and in a way that's much cheaper to get than her original appearance. I missed the Gingerbread House set, but always wanted her to go with the Series 11 Gingerbread Man.

That's nothing! Minifigs are made of ABS plastic, and regular LEGO bricks are also made of ABS. Thus, minifigs live in houses made of their own flesh.

(What a weird and warped comment thread we have got here.)

By in United States,

We just had a LUG member report that our store hasn’t even received these yet.

@saltytbone:
You can also ask them for parts from the stockroom, so if you want triples of one minifig, they might not put the loose parts out.

@CCC:
There’s an online BAM?

By in United States,

I found these at the Disney Springs Lego Store last week, on November 6th.

Side note about that store - I also found a few copies of 40391 Brick Sketch First Order Stormtrooper there almost a year after it became unavailable online.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was able to find all of these in Woodbridge, VA over the weekend except for the Gingerbread head.

By in United States,

I was able to get to a Lego store recently (there aren't any close by) hoping to get the Halloween minifigs and thought they would at least have the Christmas minifigs. As it turned out they had not received the Christmas ones yet, and the Halloween were sold out. Fortunately I was able to find the parts for the Halloween character that I really wanted in the build a minifig parts bins, so I made three of her. I am glad that the Christmas minifigs aren't too special overall.

By in United States,

Managed to find these at the store when I went. Was nice to see there's cross compatability with the kid legs, so you can easily have him dressed in a Santa outfit. Also shockingly found some of the summer figures plus Q3 stuff (managed to build myself two knights and the wizard, along with a set of figures as a gift). They're pretty decent stuff, was more impressed with Gingerbread in person than I expected. Nothing amazing this quarter, but it's about what's relevant and decent right now - though minifigures series 23 also will hold a lot of the Christmas interest this year.

Anytime I go, I have to ask for the parts behind the counter. They usually have the BaM figs pre-built. I just decided to ask once and found out that the store I go to does it all the time. Might be worth trying at your local store too

Sort of? If you exclude stuff like the tiny heads on trophy figs, all the animals they’ve included, and animal hats (I know the shark, puppy, and bear hats were both available in past assortments), I don’t see any molded heads that would plug directly onto the neck post that I recognize as having been part of the PAB assortment.

Ask an employee! Last month I tried to get all the halloween figures and someone had scooped up all the calaveras. I asked an employee where they all were and he grabbed a big tray of em from the back.

___

Love these, but I fail to see how this gingerbread lady is any different from the one in the winter village set a few years ago. There are way better Mrs. Clauses out there and I'm honestly so sick of the guitars coming in white more often than brown. Still, these are worth the 12 mile trip... thrilled the donut's coming in 2x2 now. I always thought that would work better!

ALWAYS ask the clerks if you dont see some parts in BAM bin.
I only want the jumper boy and maybe few of grandma faces :D

By in United Kingdom,

Big shout out to the staff at the Southampton store!!

I got all 3 last Saturday prepacked and located right by the tills. Such a stress free shopping experience :)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Just pick up two of these, pre-packed at the counter. Does brickset have these minifigs registered somewhere? I can only find the gingerbread girl.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

This might be the very first time I’m quite “meh” about the release of new BAM figs.
Of course, if you don’t have the gingerbread lady this is a nice opportunity.
Mrs Claus feels rather “lazy” to me compared to the one in the Santa Claus Workshop set.

She has a gingerbread donut instead of a baby. Sometimes getting an exact duplicate is just as desirable as getting a variation.

What bugs me is: I've seen two Lego Discovery Centers have online stores for their regions (Melbourne and can't remember the other), and both had/have B.a.M.s for sale ONLINE...if TLG isn't going to put these on 'the Main Sites', then why not open the Discovery stores to 'online'? I mean, it evens things out a bit for people who don't have access to a Lego store directly, even if there are ones within their country...just thinking out loud...
