So basically the same as the VIP weekend, minus the baking set, plus a drawstring bag. I'm not gonna bother, I already overspent in the weekend :)

This is kinda ridiculous. VIP weekend, Black Friday, Cyber Monday... Just how many orders are we supposed to plan for--and how do we even plan with so little detail? Maybe I'm a bit cynical, but I think the 75% of the $5 voucher sums it up nicely. An obvious sucker bet (since you can only use one code at a time)--on what's supposely an event to cater to fans. I hope to be proven wrong--I hope to see -real- discounts on stuff people actually want. We'll see.

... and minus the double VIP points.

But it'll be different sets on discount, I assume.

Does that mean if you order the Eiffel Tower you get 4 gifts?

5007488 is supposed to be a GWP on 28 November only, according to Hothbricks, so yes you'll get 4 GWPs if the set is still available on that day.

You can definitely use more than one code at a time for discounts:
"You can add more than one discount code to an order as long as the total discounted amount is less than your subtotal."

It really is amazingly what they can get away with in Sales and Marketing..... don't tell them anything until the last minute, offer this, offer that, make GWp's at a very high threshold, play on their fear of things selling out, offer things only available in some regions to others for VIP points that you can only use one code at a time. Never say how many there is or how many are left. Make things 1 day only starting at midnight.

Come on Lego.

On that very page you can read "There’s only room for one code per order and promotional codes can’t be redeemed without placing an order.", which meant that the promo codes for e.g. the Hogwarts Express couldn't be redeemed if you had already entered the Dragon Ride code, or conversely.

There's no problem with vouchers, which can stack up.

Well, unless there are any other announcements, my 'shopping extravaganza' will be the Pirate Adventure Ride plus the 1964 Retro Key Chain which I've been looking forward to for months since I first saw it, as it's exactly my era!

The sets with 5x VIP points in store were the same sets as the online discounts, and they run from 15th to 28th so I'm not holding out too much hope for different online discounts, but you never know!

Yes, it's grasping the difference between Discount Codes and Promo Codes that seems to confuse some people.

Discount Codes are purely the equivalent of cash off your final bill, not attached to any particular set, so can be added up like cash in your pocket when you pay your bill.

Everything else is a Promo Code, because it's promoting a specific set, whether it be the Loop Coaster at reduced price or the Pirate Adventure Ride fully paid for by the voucher, which can only be used one per order.

It can be debated if you should be able to use multiple Promo Codes in one order but, like it or not, the whole point of all Promos and GRPs is to get more orders - not an act of kindness towards the customer!

Unfortunately the Tribute to the Lego House only lasts until November 27th (in NL at least). So you'll max out at 3 GWP's..

Indeed! I forgot about that incongruity… With that said, I think that the bag is much less interesting than the Tribute…

I agree, I want that bag but I already spent over $300 last week on LEGO sets and I didn't got the Baking Set because it is only available for non branded sets. I made one order that included the VIP Festive Bag (the one with the pigs) and then another to qualify for almost all the GWP offers.

So 75% off a £5 voucher means you can get £5 voucher for only 200 points instead of 800. Only can be claimed once though.
Going to use VIP points to get as much as discount as possible off the Eiffel Tower, plus free gifts!

When you redeem a discount voucher it gives you a quantity choice (up to 15)--I'm very curious how many discounted $5 vouchers we will actually be able to obtain!

By in Poland,

These promotions are so weak that it only shows how good Lego company is doing- they don't have many sets they need to push out, most of the production fly off the shelves and so they mostly give us incentive to buy those high priced ADULTS WELCOME sets. Real deals and promotions with lego happen today at third party retailers rahter than at Lego LEGO.com or Lego stores.

Are we assuming there will be no actual sales on sets?

I've just checked and last year on Cyber Monday I claimed the maximum which were 4x £5 discounts to use online and another 4x £5 discounts in store only, at 455 VIP points each.

Now the discounts are for both in store and online so I doubt that they will allow 8 vouchers but will see.

Yep, agreed. It's the same reason you never see Apple put any of their products on sale ... they simply don't need to. Other retailers might discount Apple products, but Apple themselves never does. Lego is the same way.

By in United States,

If we knew how many discount vouchers at the discounted points price we can get I might be more willing to spend points on the Dragon Ride and Pirate Ride.

With no double points either though, I'm not sure I feel the need to buy anything unless I ended up redeeming points for the Dragon and Pirate rides.

@Tuzi:
VIP Weekend had the baking set, super-rebates or 5x points on select sets, double points on everything, the dragon ride in the Reward Center, and less worry about HGWP1 and LH Tribute selling out.

Black Friday weekend has the drawstring bag, undetermined sales on select sets, the Eiffel Tower launch/GWP, pirate ride in the Reward Center, and fools who don’t have VIP accounts can get HGWP1 and LH Tribute.

@busyman:
@essel:
The super-rebates were classified as physical reward items, because they were a new thing. Discounted rebates worked like normal rebates last year, so these “75% off $5” ones shouldn’t have the same problem. And @FuddRuckus has been repeatedly letting people know that customer service was advising using the code for the dragon ride and calling customer service to have them manually apply any applicable super-rebates as a workaround to that issue.

@JPKuiper:
Sometimes you can score the outgoing and incoming GWP on an order placed right around midnight. Don’t ever bank on that working, but be happy when it does.

@ajp31:
The last time I remember them doing regular discount vouchers for reduced points, they posted 3-4 different vouchers each day for the promo period, and you could claim one of each per day. They also capped them, so if you waited too long they would sell out for the day.

So if it's confirmed you can use a discount voucher and a promo code at the same time, then that's not so bad. But it's still frustrating that we even have to ask such a question.

I ordered the Hogwarts Express Collector’s Edition yesterday, and I was able to use two promo codes: the 100 points -> $100 VIP weekend code, and one for cashing in 13k VIP points for another $100.

The latter is a basic discount, which you’ve been allowed to stack almost from the start of VIP Blue. The former got classified as a promo item, like the coins, and you’re normally only allowed one of that type per order.

No, you used 1 Promo Code and 1 Discount Code.
Promo Codes relate to the specific item being promoted.
Discount Codes relate to a non specific discount.

Where is this 75% for $5 coupon? Is this not available in the states? I see an ad for it on LEGO LEGO.com website but then nothing in the redeem section.

It is in the VIP rewards center, as a separate $5 discount of which you can redeem four.
