2023 Build-a-Minifigure parts

Posted by ,

We don't often get a preview of the minifigure parts that'll be available in the pick-a-minifigure stations in brand stores in the future, but that's what LEGOLAND Japan appears to have given us on Twitter.

There are new parts and recolours, including the 2x3 brick costume in orange, the pizza slice costume repurposed as a cake, and what I think is a new female hair piece.

You an view photos of all 13 figures after the break.

Which ones are you going to try and get hold of?

The Chinese new year suit and the monkie kid looking armour/ clothing looks very nice, but I rarely get BAM. Hopefully we see some more futuristic mech parts, I like those.

I'm almost positive that the second photo down is the band performing sea shanties at my local folk music festival, this year.

The brown hair with headband part appears to be the same as the one that comes in 41701 and 41720.

Loving the orange brick guy. Starting to get quite a collection going.

Oh, how I wish the nearest Lego store wasn't hours away. I want that cake costume and the egg splat. That hairpiece isn't new, it's a recolor of Harley Quinn's from TLBM.

Love BAM-exclusive parts. I forgot to pick up the new holiday ones when I was at the LEGO Store a few days ago but I definitely need some of these pieces! Wish LEGO would use the TLBM Harley hair more, it's one of my favorite hairpieces.

If I remember correctly, there is word that there will be a BAM service online at some point. Perhaps some of these pieces will be available there, has anyone heard anything about it recently?

That’s very nice.

Kinda bummed that there won’t be any new castle BAM figs this year. The red falcons torso we got recently was fantastic

By in United States,

The red ship must be the replica Titanic the Chinese were building as a floating hotel that they failed to be finished, hence the lack of funnels. (Red obviously means Communist in this context)

And yes, I'm totally joking in case you can't tell, but the project (along side two other working replicas that were canceled) really existed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romandisea_Titanic

When I saw the title of the article, I was sure that you added it to the database. I think that would be useful.

That’s one big egg. Will it give me eagle powers?

@bricks4everyone:
That’s Minifig Factory, where you design your own torso. I haven’t heard of any online BAM plans, aside from what’s normally available through Minifig Factory (which excludes pre-printed torsos).

Very curious to see which parts will end up at the BAM in Utrecht or Amsterdam...

Comment of the day here folks!

Hopefully I'll be able to pick up some of these parts in my biannual Lego Store visit in January! I think I'm most excited for the dual molded legs. I'll try and also pick up some of those hairpieces and the nicer torsos. I gave up on getting good accessories a long time ago.

The candy cane is now in BAM!

Yeah, they should have gone with another color...

It does kind of look like she should see a doctor... "It's not a TUMOR!!!"

Why is there a blue rabbit?

Gravatar
By in Spain,

Wow!! They are amazing! When seeing the photo in the list, I thought that they weren't so extraordinary. Then, when clicking in the article...the third photo is not interesting, but the rest (1st, 2nd, and 4th) are so fantastic!! I love the orange brick costume, the cake costume (with the pizza costume), the new crayon, the new boat costume, the captain's hat and the last woman's hair...

It is a pity that I do not have a Lego store near home ;-(

Maybe it is a nod to a New Year tradition?

Either Chinese New Year is sponsored by Blue Bunny ice cream this year, or that rabbit froze to death.

Sadly, no. That beta for Minifig Factory came and went, too. All these things up and died out or something.

By in Netherlands,

The online BAM really can use some updates, even if it means older parts.

It does not list itself in any sort of beta anymore, parts have been getting less and less over time, nothing new was added.

By in United States,

Well picture 3 has a Monkie Kid torso and the red Asian inspired torso has been there for months. Picture 4 definitely has repeats from city sets anyway.

But yes, there are some new pieces which would be nice to find, but I don't live close enough to ever be able to, so I won't worry about missing out on them I guess.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Ridgeheart: Not surprising I didn't recognize it, if it's only been in one set so far. I'd still like to have one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Picture 2 looks like an outdoor music festival in Portland, Oregon, and now I can't unsee it.

I must have missed that! Is there a link to the part?

By in United States,

I'm ecstatic about having the candy cane available. Definitely getting the orange suit and crayon suit. I also love that three animals are available but why in the world is that rabbit blue?!? Could have been so many other realistic colors...

Online BAM exists, for people outside North America (or maybe just Europe). The selection was not great to start with and rapidly went downhill. There is about 15 pieces for each category. Initially there were some decent parts, dachshunds and cats, dual molded black boots / DBG legs, some better torsos. But they don't seem to restock or put anything new on there.

The selection is really sad and is only getting worse with each passing day as stuff sells out. Just bog-standard stuff and none of these exclusive cool things.
