NINJAGO: Dragons Rising poster revealed
Posted by CapnRex101,
Five fragments of the poster for the new season of NINJAGO, dubbed Dragons Rising, have been revealed over the last few days.
These fragments offer an interesting teaser for the rebooted series, displaying a couple of new characters alongside Nya, Kai and Lloyd.
View a larger version of the poster below...
Update: LEGO has now unveiled the complete poster:
I think the golden-armoured character on the left and the hooded figure on the right are definitely new, while the character resembling an Oni in the middle is intriguing. This minifigure carries a hammer, which would usually be associated with Cole.
The new season will be released on the 1st of June in North America and you can find dates for most countries on LEGO.com.

I do hope they introduce more allies for the Ninjas to fight alongside. It was kinda weird having a DND-themed wave with only the Ninja in generic armor as the heroes.
They rebooted the series? I would love more dragons sure, but why?
Huh, that little dragon at the top actually looks like it could be a Lego mould for once.
don't know why it is shatterd looking and top looks like a ice dragon

"Not a reboot, nor a new season.
A new series that continues the story of the old series."
The new series is a soft reboot, retaining many, or possibly most, of the existing characters, but with a refreshed story.
I get the impression that the transition will be similar to Friends, although without the ninja growing as much older as the original Friends.

Are you making a joke here, or do you truly not know this theme exists?
Above Lloyd seems to be Akita. That's very interesting, I would love if she becomes a regular character. I hope that they don't forget Harumi as well.

I'd say that the character above Lloyd looks more like plundar

It’s a theme about a group of ninjas going on adventures! They have a new one every year or so, which keeps things fresh as time goes by.

I see you have just time traveled from the year 2010. When you go back to your own time, buy stock in toilet paper companies, sanitizer manufacturers, places that make N95 masks, and a little online meeting company called Zoom. Hold onto these stocks no matter what!
You'll thank me latter.
I've also got news about the future of Lucasfilm and Fox as independent companies...

They rebooted Friends? How did I miss that?
Monica was always my favourite.

While "soft reboot" does describe this well, just saying "rebooted" like in the article usually reads as "hard reboot." Reboots tend to imply an alteration to the timeline or a new universe. Like Legend of Kora isn't a reboot of The Last Airbender, its a spinoff. The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy aren't a reboot of the Star Wars Original Trilogy, they're... well sequels.
Meanwhile if you look at something like She Ra: Princess of Power and She Ra: Princesses of Power, those are completely separate continuities. Same for BIONICLE Gen 1 and Gen 2. Or basically any TMNT show. While there can be arguments or conspiracies to link things together, they aren't really meant to adhere to each other's lore or universe.
This is more of a revitalization or a new saga than a reboot, and Ninjago has done this before. The Pilot and first two seasons were a part of one "run". Seasons 3-7 were technically one run, but a lot of fans like to spit DoTD and 7 into their own little saga. Seasons 8-10 were a part of one run. Forbidden Spinjitzu-Crystalized were one run. The only real difference I see this time around is that they seem to be resetting the season count with this one, which they really should've done between 10 and 11 anyway. Other than that its a time-skip with a slight alteration to writing and animation styles. Par for the course.
Then again Ninjago isn't doing itself any favors literally calling Season 3 "Rebooted."
Where can I get the posters?

It was also called Rebooted because of the Techno theme, not necessarily because it was a reboot of the series.
I’m beginning to think that Kai just wears that plaster as an affectation rather than having an unheald wound for 10+ years.
Remember when Chima was going to supplant Ninjago?
Peterlmorris Farms remembers!
Never tell your customers what they do and don’t like. Let them tell you. Long live GINinjaTransformersTurtlesRangers Joemon!
The cat character looks interesting and I kinda like the suggestion of the pauldrons on a shoulder. I'm interested to see how this pans out.

Well, they did get a couple of allies in that wave, but one was a dragon and the other only came in the most expensive set. Of course, the corresponding animated series more than made up for it. Wonder if Lego will ever get around to giving us more Shintarans or the Upply.
Of course, we still haven’t gotten figs for the First Spinjitzu Master, Dr. Julien, Cole’s dad, Gayle Gossip, Cyrus Borg (non-evil version), the Serpentine War era Elemental Masters, Cliff Gordon…*insert other nonphysical Ninjago characters here*

They came in five fragments and we were supposed to find them and put the poster together ourselves. You can find them on https://ninjago.fandom.com/wiki/MergeTheFragments?so=search
This season seems to be about from what I can gather, the 16 realms merging with one another, and this season seems to focus on the realm of oni and dragon specificly. Perhaps this has something to do with the realm crystal being shattered back in season 10 (march of the Oni), since when the cursed realm was destroyed, it brought down djinjago with it, hence starting Skybound with Nadakhan's quest for revenge. This should be an interesting season and I am curious to find out who Arin, Sora and Ras are, and if our beloved weekend whip will return with yet another remix, or if they got a new theme song.
WHOOSH - WHOOSH - WHOOSH - WHOOSH
That’s the sound of LegoBoi69’s comment flying right over several people’s heads.
Now, tell me, what’s a Lego?
@peterlmorris: Chima...hrump, "Nexo Kinghts"; they copied 'the formula', but the problem was: they were already competing (against themselves I must add) with 'a brand' that CLEARLY entrenched it self with core fans...and yet, could also GAIN fans at the same time. Last time I saw anything like that was ST:TNG and ST:DS9...Ninjago fans even save the property from the "three year mark"; when a toy company cans a line at three-years in to start working on other ideas.
And to answer the question ‘what is a Ninjago?’ they’re basically like Fabuland, but more stabby.
