By in United States,

The previous airship is one of the best Mario sets I've built IMO. These don't look quite as neat but they should pair well with it.

Suprising because this version of lego Mario is reportedly hitting it's expiration date soon.

The rumour is about the starter set is reaching EOL, that's it. Nothing prevents them from immediately introduce a new starter set with the same Mario but refreshed course/parts or a slightly alternate version of Mario (colours etc).

By in United Kingdom,

Thought at first it was a Dreamzzz set I hadn't spotted!

Looks great!

By in Netherlands,

But why with Larry and not with Roy? Then the Koopaling roster would be conplete.

That pirate Goomba is super cute.

By in Italy,

I'm seeing the barrel pipes being new pieces (instead of the traditional ones).

By in Germany,

Tbh I think this looks surprisingly good.

By in Netherlands,

Could've sold these as two smaller sets. They don't seem to even add anything to each other. But why would we sell smaller sets?

By in United States,

Surely it's Larry and Morton's Airships? Or am I using apostrophes wrong?

@Lyichir: It does look like that piece. Never would have thought I'd see a piece I associate with Belville showing up in Super Mario.

@ @MisterBrickster: It's "Larry's and Morton's" since they each have their own, and "Larry's Airship and Morton's Airship" could be too unwieldy. "Larry and Morton's" would be if they were co-owners.

By in United States,

Anyway, my own thoughts on this set—it looks good! Should complement the bigger Bowser airship nicely (and reduce the load on mine, which I've crewed with all the Koopalings so far). I hope we still get Roy at some point to complete the set!

By in Australia,

I don't know why, but no matter what, I always play as Larry in Mariokart. If you were to show me his airship with me having no previous knowledge on Mario, I honestly would not be able to tell that he is a bad guy! Nothing about him looks unfriendly in this set!

BOO!

By in United States,

Really should’ve been Roy, especially with the fact the theme may be ending soon. It’s also weird to have the same koopaling twice, with no variation

By in Australia,

All of these new sets being revealed and I'm over here thinking where's the new Indiana Jones love? I still can't understand Disney's thinking. It's almost like they side-lined Indiana Jones so people would pay more attention to Disney 100.

They gonna screw us and make roy the sdcc exclusive.

By in United States,

Bowser’s airship was fantastic, but I’m not sure how two smaller ships could offer the same play value. However the price is very reasonable for a Mario set. I’ll have to see if this is a set my kids are interested in.

i don't do the mario theme, but these are rather enticing

By in United States,

Just need Roy to round out the Koopalings. Would be nice to get Daisy, Wario, Rosalina, and Waluigi too.

By in Poland,

These have some great pieces.

By in United States,

Would look great if the had normal size minifigs, these big Super Mario characters just don't work me

By in United States,

I like the commically large cannons.

By in Australia,

I do like the look of this one. Now I want a whole flotilla of Koopaling airships!

By in United States,

Apparently the Super Mario Bros. 3 manual calls the Koopalings Bowser's children, but this made absolutely zero sense to me growing up since Morton Koopa Jr. would logically be the son of Morton Koopa Sr. and the Koopaling concept makes more sense as a homage to the American trope of avuncular relations in cartoons, with Huey, Dewey, and Louie being Donald Duck's nephews as a prominent example. Now, Bowser Jr. is canonically Bowser's only son, but it's not clear if the Koopalings are his nephews and niece or just random Koopas.

Anyway, this is a great brick-built Morton.
