Build Together sets now identified in the database

Posted by ,

You may recall that a feature called Build Together was added to the Builder (nee Instructions Plus) app back in 2021, which facilitates building sets collaboratively. We tested it with one of the sets that was included in the pilot programme (10270 Bookshop) and had great fun doing so.

Since then 180 sets have been added to the app and LEGO has just provided a list of them. So, I've tagged them in the database and you'll find them all listed here.

Have you had an opportunity to use the feature of the Builder app to construct a set with others? Let us know how you got on in the comments.

That’s cool - thanks @Huw !!

I’ve only done build together once - the recent moon base set from the City line. Did it with 3 adults. It was a bit unbalanced - basically 2 people doing small side builds and one assembling the base. So it could possibly be disappointing for kids (sibling wars!)

Also the mini vehicles waited until the end - pushing them up front would have given play opportunities when waiting. Lots of steps were just parts of a mini rover sitting and waiting for its tires, lol.

So I’m not sold that this works quite yet. But I’m interested to try again. Maybe the AT-TE build will feel more assembly line like for all of us.

Hope this gets explored, improved and considered as a possible launch pad for future seemingly required app integration options in the future. Much better than an AR game this could be - especially if we could get something like alternate builds, maybe creative build challenges, problem solving builds, etc.

Imagine a whole Mario style line but the goal isn’t collecting coins but somehow gamifying the building experience more for single/multiplayer fun.

You guys have been on a serious roll with additions to site features, it's much appreciated, dude.

I’m surprised to see smallish, 200-pc builds in this list. On the other hand 50 years ago those would have been near-flagship sets!

Are inventories going to be updated soon? TLG Customer Service inventories have more complete parts lists now.

Love that this is becoming more of a thing; it's been really fun to build more sets with people—especially ones like the bouquets where there's duplicates so you don't miss out on seeing fun techniques!

Splitting up a 200-pc smallish build does seem kinda silly.

Thanks!

I'm loving the Instructions app though, it's a really good experience. I'm choosing to use it over the paper instructions now... Even considering clearing them out!

Thank you so much! Glad to know what sets are good for date or family build nights.

Excellent new feature! We have a build night coming up soon and wanted everyone to at least try this great new digital experience (bring your iPad!) before starting on some of the bigger models. But the only place we could find this info was in the LEGO BIX app and we couldn't see a list of just the Build Together sets. I guess we've found yet another reason to use Brickset. :)

We did 41703 together a while ago. The app worked well, and it was great building a lovely set as a family.

Funny, never noticed the pictures on the wall 'til now...

Also reminds me, I just found out the other day; Golden Books just added to their Lego "How to be a..." w/the Build Together "Host". So from 'Knights' and 'Pirates' to 'Unicorns'...still no 'Space' there either :| (:))

I really like the idea of this, particularly with Modular builds which used to be easy to share out with others when the manuals used to be separated out into floors (I know you can get instructions online to use but I am of an age where I like a paper book...). I also remember building Tower Bridge many years ago in partnership which was good as there were basically two identical builds until you got to the top of the towers. Ultimately though, as an only child I was never happy sharing my Lego experience and probably turned into a sort of Lego control freak...
