Ghost & Phantom II

©2023 LEGO Group

An Australian certified store has revealed another Star Wars set that's due for release on 1st September.

The 1,394-piece 75357 Ghost & Phantom II, inspired by the vehicles introduced in Star Wars Rebels and returning in the upcoming Ahsoka series, comes with four minifigs: General Hera Syndulla, Lt. Beyta, Jacen Syndulla and First Officer Hawkins, plus Chopper (C1-10P).

The price in Australia is $260, so it'll probably be around $150 in the USA.

View pictures of the box after the break.

Thanks to Robert S for the news.

I've been waiting for this one...

By in United States,

Love it. Never got the 2014 Ghost set, so this is a must have for me!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Cool that you get both ships in one. If you factor in the prices for both sets based on old scale it's cheaper

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ok this is awesome. I love that both of the ships are here! Also the ashoka figure on the box is incredible.

“based on vehicles featured in the Star Wars: Ahsoka Disney+ TV series”

Correct. I doubt I’m gonna see Rebels in the foreseeable future (Filoni’s 120+ episode Clone Wars would be so difficult to get through if it was even a smidge not as great, and almost everyone seems to agree Rebels is at a lower tier). While there is a vocal minority that loves Rebels and this will probably be a great set for them, I doubt we would’ve gotten this one without the Ahsoka show coming up.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Makes up for the poor coruscant gunship leak!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This looks like a great update to the Rebels version. The only thing I don't like is Hera's face print.

And the ship chasing the phantom ii on the box art looks really cool, if that is another set in the line.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Is that vehicle in the background another set? It must be, right? I can recognise several LEGO shapes in there.

I actually find Rebels more enjoyable of the two. Though, used to really like TCW. (It's since fallen for me.)

Gravatar
By in United States,

As someone who's sworn off the new continuity. This actually pretty cool.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No opportunity for new Zeb? ??

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’ve been looking forward to this… never got the OG sets. I read from a source on instagram that the US price is gonna be $170, sounds about right given recent prices but honestly I don’t mind it too much

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wanted a Jacen *Solo*...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It looks a little more compact than the original, but this is a must-buy for me. Although I do miss the original crew.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really nice. I wonder if it'll be compatible with the ol' Phantom? That would definitely give it the elongated, streamlined look of the original Ghost. The back fin of Phantom II is quite obtrusive.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That's one of the cooler Star Wars sets I've seen in a while! Always nice to see a ship with color too.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I like the look of this ship even though I don't know the source material.
Don't like that RRP though. Not even close. So I'm happy for those who want this, I am gonna pass.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is that even smaller than the last one?

Gotta say, imho, Rebels is the superior show. It’s got a tighter structure and character arcs. The show also deals with some deep Star Wars lore! If you love SW, give it a chance.

Unless they put Zeb in some new set, it won't drop by much, lol.

This looks a great ship with some nice interior details too. Might need to pick this one up!!

Maybe not. The original has Zeb after all. But I wish. I have a sealed copy that I wanted to built a couple of years ago and when I saw the value of a sealed copy, I decided to keep mine sealed. If it drops maybe I’ll have to courage to open it.
I’m also looking forward to getting this one. It looks great!
The ghost is one of the coolest SW ship for sure.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Great finally a new ghost.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

Jacen must be feeling really uncomfortable riding the Phantom back there…

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh, wow, this looks so good! Probably won't pick it up cause it's too expensive for me... But nevertheless it's great to see a ghost set that has a decent interior!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks good--I love the detail on the sides and the engines look fantastic.

But as my 15 year old (Rebels fanatic) son pointed out. The doors are in the wrong place. The main door should open from the front of the ship, directly beneath the lower gunner. I'm guessing they couldn't pull it off at this scale and had to defer to this placement . . . which is more of a Millennium Falcon look.

I do love that The Phantom is more in-scale to the Ghost with this version. With the previous version is was way too big.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Rebels > Clone Wars for sure.

Looking forward to the Ahsoka series!

Even as you're pointing that out, I just realized that the engine glow should be orange or yellow as well. But in the end I don't think either of those discrepancies detracts from the set as a whole (and maybe the live action version in Ashoka will be different), and the designers really did an amazing job with this set!

Fair enough, I just haven't seen this opinion a lot. Clone Wars doesn't really have a main cast set in stone so that is something Rebels probably does better. I still don't know if I'll get to the series as I'm getting through Clone Wars very slowly but regardless of how I may rank Rebels relative to its predecessor, I'm sure it's worth my time.

Gravatar

If it turns out to be $150US as speculated here, that would be 10.8 cents per piece. That's not expensive for an IP-licensed set.

All we need now is an Andor set with the live action Zeb and I'll be happy.

Live action Zeb was in Mando, not Andor. He was still part of Phoenix Squadron during Andor.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

couldn't give less of a .. about Ahsoka, but new aliens are neat. Hopefully, though not likely, the Mon Calamari guy will appear elsewhere in a cheaper set. The NR uniform is cool as well, maybe one day we'll get an updated Crix Madine. The price ridiculous as per usual (and only 5 figures, meanwhile a HP set for €50 has more).

At least it looks like there are a few new molds.

I don't think the old Phantom will fit into this new Ghost, due to the smaller distance between the back engines compared to the old Ghost. That's why the new Phantom II is significantly downscaled.

Gravatar

Nice

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've been waiting to see pictures of this. And now that I have, I feel underwhelmed. I have the original Ghost and Phantom and like those, and I also liked the show. (Though, haven't finished it as I missed the last season or so.) But this... just not really feeling it. Not sure just why that is.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have the original Phantom, but not buying the Ghost has been one of my top LEGO regrets. I am beyond excited for this set. Can’t wait.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yes!!! I missed the Ghost first time around. This looks perfect! Aw man that looks like a great build.

Gravatar
By in United States,

What a perfect way to get ready to celebrate the 10th anniversary of "Star Wars: Rebels" next year with this set!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Lmfao at everyone who payed the overly inflated aftermarket prices for the first one. Once again the patient collector wins! Coming with the Phantom as well is just icing on the cake. Won’t be long until Zeb pops up in an another set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

TCW is a great series. TCW fleshed-out the Star Wars universe and created a large chunk of the lore upon which almost every animated and live-action show and video game (Star Wars Jedi series) is based and subsequently builds-upon.

I’m waiting to see if we’ll ever get a Stinger Mantis with Cal, BD-1, Cere, Greez, and Merrin. If Cal has orange light saber blades, that might be the one SW set I buy to set on top of my PC!

The Rebels final season is great, and the actual finale is an excellent episode of television. Worth watching the whole series just to get that payoff (and cliffhanger!).

I liked Clone Wars but Rebels is way better. By the end of season 4, it is as good as Star Wars gets.

I believe rumors are that another couple of Ahsoka-based sets will also be released later this year. One of them could be that fighter.

Gravatar

The ship looks good, but the minifigure selection is not too exciting for me. I wonder if we will get a new Ghost Microfighter with the new Hera next year?

Gravatar

I've had to curtail my LEGO budget in recent years, but ever since this ship was rumoured, it's been the one big set I'll allow myself this year.

Time to rewatch Rebels!

Gravatar
By in France,

Having stopped buying SW sets a few years ago because everything is grey, this could be an exception.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I guess I am in two minority target groups...
1. I liked Rebels a lot more than Clone Wars. At least it didn't have the same old same old characters.
2. I'm not too excited about this set. It looks a bit dumbed down in my opinion. The Phantom looks plain silly and the grey rim around it looks like metal studs on leatther pants.

I was planning on buying this set, but I'll wait for the inevitable comparison videos to see if my 2014 Ghost needs a companion.

Another maybe somewhat unpopular opinion: I seem to like older sets better. Less silly greebling and a more coarse Lego feel (which turns out I like).

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Very nice set and a definite purchase, I was lucky enough to pick up the Ghost for half price $65AUD (Rebels wasn't too popular when it first came out and the sets sat on the shelf).

I'm looking forward to seeking the new Ashoka show and seeing who these new characters are.

I always enjoyed Rebels, not as much as Clone Wars (generally because Anakin/Vader is my fav character) and the last season was excellent.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I wonder if like the Razor Crest we will see the release of an adult version of the set..

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Huh, it's interesting to see the Jacen has brown hair in this set when he had green hair in the rebels finale. I wonder if that's a change for the new Ahsoka show, or if Lego just made a mistake?

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Of course no Zeb :(
At least it looks like better build than previous one. That was a fragile mess

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’ll probably buy it just because…looks nice. Have the original though.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well I really hope we get an adult Ashoka minfgure in a reasonably priced set, as current Bricklink prices are over £190 for the Rebels version

Like father, like son if it is a mistake

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm glad we're getting a new one. Although I think the old looks to have captured the shape and flow of the Ghost better. This one the angles along the sides look too pressed in. More square than diamond shape. Will have to see more details to know what it's really like.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

want this!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was hoping for this one. I knew the Ahsoka series might bring the ghost back in Lego, so it's good to see.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Available for preorder from LEGO, now. $160 / 170€ / £150.

Gravatar
By in United States,

For the past 5 years I’ve been constantly checking eBay and Facebook for someone who didn’t know how insanely expensive the original Ghost cost, and for 5 years I’ve had no luck. Finally I’ll be able to get a reasonably priced Ghost with a Phantom nonetheless.

I assume that we’ll be getting an Ezra minifigure in a different Ahsoka set, and I already own a Sabine, but we ought to be seeing her as well. So all I’ll need is Kanan and Zeb. But with Zeb’s cameo in Mandalorian there is hope for him. Kanan could be a problem, as could Kallus as I’d like to have him as well.

As for the Clone Wars vs Rebels debate. When Clone Wars was at its best it easily wins, but it also had plenty of not so great shows. Rebels on the other hand was always amazing. I just rewatched the whole series to get ready for Ahsoka and feel it was even better the second time around. In many ways, it’s very similar to Andor as you are seeing the beginning of the rebellion, yet it remains a kids show. I think the shows cohesiveness really makes it the better of the two animated shows, although there is no doubt that certain Clone Wars arcs are better.

Zeb at least has a shot. Kanan is unfortunately dead, so he definitely won't appear in Ahsoka unless there's a flashback or Force ghost cameo, and I doubt LEGO will go back and make more Rebels sets now. It's a shame, considering how many Clone Wars sets they still pump out nowadays…

You never know-they could always choose to revisit some older material. I won’t say how (un)likely that may be, but I think it’s at least possible.

@yellowbrick the finale to Rebels aired more than five years ago. I imagine that most anyone who cares has found a way to watch it or already been spoiled by one source or another.

No. If you count the studs its slightly bigger.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The proportions look very comical of this new version!
I have the first Ghost + both Phantoms you can dock/attach to the Ghost.
But, I do think this new set has appeal. It seems like it has a little more interior room in the main hull than the 'original' Ghost from SW Rebels (great animated TV series, I remember I enjoyed watching it a lot). Though this version doesn't have the detachable escape pods, (docking ports in the series, similar to the Millennium Falcon) in which you can put minifigs and accessories.
I don't know anything about this new show: Ashoka, other than it being a live-action TV series like The Mandalorian.
I still think the older version from 2014 set number 75053 based on this first impression is aesthetically superior.
No doubt this new set will be fun to build, and probably has some nice innovative building techniques too.
The 'original' version only had 4 minifigs, this set has one more, somehow it feels a little sparse, TLG could have added an extra villain, or something?! The figures look interesting for the most part, especially: Hera Syndulla, Lt. Beyta, and Chopper.
For all people for whom this set is a must-have, it is nice that you get both ships, and don't need to buy several sets to have a complete unit as featured in the series consisting of the main ship plus the little shuttle for side missions.

Gravatar

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like a nice update, although it doesn’t seem to include as many play features as the original, but including the Phantom balances that out. Definitely nice for people who missed out on the first one.

$160USD, seems $10-20 too high all things considered, but I’m sure patience will be rewarded with a 20% discount sooner or later.

True. One would hope that they’ll prove to be significant, interesting, and likable characters in the actual series. Otherwise, an antagonist or two might have been preferable inclusions, or even Ahsoka. She is the star/title character, so you would think/hope she would appear in multiple sets.

I have to say I am glad I have the 2014 Ghost and the two Phantoms. This set, I do not find appealing.
I would, however, LOVE to have a Ghost UCS!! It is such a cool ship and the smaller sets do not do it right.

It’s way smaller than the last one. This makes sense though, considering Lego’s recent behavior of downgrading quality and raising prices. I used to think that Lego actually cared about their fans, but as of late, they seem to only care about profit.
