40634 Icons of Play on sale five weeks after release… is anyone actually surprised?
A bag and a baking set. I'm so glad I live in Europe.
VIP Days and Prime Day both dressed up as major events, but both just pretty pathetic repeats of old offers.
Holding my breath for any genuinely good offers but not very hopeful!
Lego have tried to beat Prime Day and have failed, lots of unclaimed GWPs on offer again and a small sale selection that would've been on a normal sale anyway.

Clearly lessons were not learnt from the flop of the table football set...

For all their amazing sales figures, if there's one thing TLG is really good at it's not learning lessons from sales flops.

Give up before you turn an unhealthy shade of blue.
No Fantasy Adventure Ride?

More 'niche' than flop.
It's funny that more members own Table Football than a lot of Friends sets that have got glowing praise from the comments section!
I caved and bought the Crapbuster from Besosazon at 43% off. Does make me a bad person?

VIP Minifigure blue?
What are the antipodes?

Australia and New Zealand, although the true Antipode of New Zealand is Spain, learnt that at school over 40 years ago and still remember it!
Seems like my teacher forgot to mention Portugal, France and Morocco, great!
Also the following should be NZ.
NS$340
NS$90
When finally discount on the City Artemis rocket launch?
Will these offers also be available at the Lego store?
Edit: nevermind, found the answer myself
Man, sorry Australia and NZ. Your VIP days seem to not be very "VIP." We still think you are great!
But on that note, the Lego VIP and Prime days are very underwhelming, even here in the U.S. What was I expecting I guess? These just don't get me to want to spend money.
O well, money saved for another day!

Anyone know any info on this? I'd like to complete my collection. Thought I heard it was releasing July 11.
Am I missing something or is Mighty Bowser not actually on sale in US?

In their defense, these sets were relatively back to back and their portfolios are planned well in advance.
Without duble VIP points for everything. No thanks.

Seeing the same thing here. Really wanted to get this set too =[
Saw the Bionicle GWP is getting rereleased in the USA but not here, which sucks since I missed it the first time and don’t want to pay ebay prices for it
Optimus isn't on sale in the US. It's been on backorder for a few weeks. maybe its on sale somewhere else.
Hmmm, let's see what's up.
I put two things in my cart and they add up to $219.98. I swear this is like a superpower I have.

I was like 2 bucks short. just tossed in CMF.

Pretty much what I expected. 20% off is good, but not spectacular--and only on so few sets and mostly keychains and other random merch. Oh well--my kids both scored some fantastic discounts on a few sets they wanted recently, so I'm happy some real deals can still be had (just not really from Lego themselves).
Triple GWPs was enough for me to pull the trigger on Rivendell at last, and got the last one in stock at my local store.
This promotion worked out pretty well for my kids and me. We purchased enough to hit the GWP thresholds, plus everything we got qualified for double points. One of the Friends sets was even on sale! So to recap, we enjoyed a product discount, double points, and three GWPs. Not a bad day at the LEGO Store. And I'm very much looking forward to building 41748 with my daughter. With some very small modifications, it will fit in nicely right next to 10260 in our LEGO city.
It's interesting Harry Potter is getting double VIP points. Is it not selling well? It's typically been a successful license. I think it has to do with this year's HP wave being so small and mostly lackluster compared to previous years. Then you have the 2nd Task set, which looks good but is overpriced, HP prices seem to have been rising to be more in line with other themes, while in the past HP sets have been good deals compared to other themes, especially other licenses.
It's especially strange if Lego HP is underselling now of all times since the franchise has been more popular than in in years with the Hogwarts Legacy videogame and the announcement of an HBO Max TV series.
Not very VIP days if the 2x isn't available on all sets.... or do VIPs only buy the themes with 2x?
How to save 100%? Don't buy anything.
Not exciting

I work at a store called Bricks & Minifigs (we buy, sell and trade new/used sets, minifigures, bulk parts, etc.). Our Harry Potter sets (sealed, used, currently available, or retired) and figures sell incredibly poorly.
I talked to the managers of another franchise and their last "good year" for sales of Harry Potter sets/figures was 2020. I think the fact that the last two Fantastic Beasts films were duds (coupled with the controversy surrounding JK Rowling) have contributed to the poor sales. Just a theory.

I'm thinking the Lego marketing geniuses think that they will get people to jump on ordering this years available sets with 2x points now before Gringotts & the Vault GWP are released in September. The end result being there might be less people placing multiple orders to get multiple copies of the GWP in September. I'm on to them so I'm still holding off buying any of the recent releases. I still have one or two of the beginning of year ones to get also. The other issue is the newest City & Friends sets have yet to be released in the US so not much available for us to by to actually benefit from the 2x points promo so adding the HP ones is sort of throwing us a bone.

The article on brickset set said available July 11th. Any updates from anyone that knows more than me? (I know it's a low bar)
Looks like 40512 might be gone already in Europe? It's not showing up in my cart anymore (it was there earlier when I put my first item in, now I added some more and it's gone) and it also seems to have been removed from the offers and promotions page. Is that what they normally do when a gift runs out? I'm new here, so I don't know how this usually works.

Are people actually excited about the TV series? My perception was that the concept of "Harry Potter but without the original cast everyone loved" was one of those rare things that *nobody* wants.
@Legoarcher87:
Hey, it’s not all bad Down Under (and adjacent). They’ve still got the top three most dangerous sharks, and tons of venomous spiders and snakes. Kangaroos that kick, salt-water crocs that eat the aforementioned sharks, stingrays, stonefish, rabbits that are sure to go into a carnivorous locust-frenzy any day now…. Think of how exciting the most mundane task must be, knowing death is literally around, and often under, every corner. Plus, cane toads!
In all seriousness, I get that being serviced out of a warehouse that’s almost exactly halfway around the world is about as inefficient as it can get (aside from paddling the orders down in a canoe), but I do sometimes raise an eyebrow in surprise at how extra-shafted Oceania gets on all things LEGO.com.
@socal_bricks:
And yet the game that just released has sold very well, by all accounts, and FB2 released before any of the controversy. I suspect there are other factors involved. This is the sixth year of the relaunch, and they’re already starting to rehash stuff. They largely covered all the major locations in Hogwarts. And they shot themselves in the foot when, in 2021 (the year after your “last good year”), they reverted to the 2001 color scheme for sentimental reasons, when the previous three years had been much more screen-accurate than anything that preceded them.
@Andrusi:
The upside of the TV series is they can cover all the stuff that got axed from the film scripts.
Hocus Pocus hanged in there for my plans. It was a perfect purchase for me to get all 3 GWPs which I passed on previously & also redeemed the free VIP keychain.

I know as an AFOL, who was a big fan of the "modular castle" stuff... They started doing pretty crappy. Like the one that's on sale here, the Sirius Rescue set was really, really dull in features, as were a few of the more recent ones. This year's modular castle one, the battle, is equally underwhelming. And the Grimmaud place and Ministry of Magic (also on sale) made me scratch my head as for why they were made. But, hey, I finally did get the Tri-Wizard Tournament swimming one during this sale! That's a nice set.
But it does seem like the license is dying, at least at Lego. And that's OK. More room for other things.
@emQ:
Grimmauld Place and the Ministry of Magic were made for the simple reason that neither has ever been made as a set before.
Either all the good gwp's are already gone, or are not available in Canada. The only gwp is tge fun and funky vip set
Only GWP available now in US is the funky VIP set. The other two are not showing up.

Sorry for the late reply but yes that's how it ends.
Dang, another GWP period where it lasted just a day or so it seems. The Mickey one & Blacktron + Bionicle. Wild. ??

Looks like the other GWP's are there once you reach the limit. They are just not showing in their ad on their website.
Never heard of "antipodes" before, but assumed based on how it was used. Had to look it up to verify.
Who knew Brickset would not only keep me informed of one of my favorite hobbies, but also teach me some useful stuff to be used in real life? Nice!

You just click on the username and there's a contact link in the profile. (Link not visible in your own profile for obvious reasons!)
The Blacktron and Bionicle GWPs are not getting added to my cart in the US despite well exceeding the thresholds. I guess I'll hold off on my purchases until either they end up back in stock or something else exciting is offered.
Extremely weak. Amazon's Prime Days wasn't THAT much better, but at least it had decent discounts.
(Only Amazon Germany had a really good promo with Rivendell down from 499 to 424...except only Amazon Germany did that God knows why...).
Once again the Lego store is only offering sales on sets no one wants to buy. What an exciting event for very important people!
I feel sad
These really are not good deals!
